Culture is something that influences us and is influenced by us. A big part of culture is music, it's the type of art that brings people together and allows us to set aside our differences and enjoy it together. Music is a tool that we use to learn about other cultures and understand others, it allows your culture to be alive. It's something that's respected as a whole and even with our differences, we've learned to enjoy music from all around the world. Music is something that we use to express our emotions and feelings, it's a way we communicate to others, with lyrics and tones. Music is an expression of personal and cultural expression, it's much bigger than just a source of entertainment. Music comes in multiple different languages like, French, Spanish and Urdu. Music can be used to learn new languages and are used too. Music is also a big influence on design and art, it influences cultures and is an artistic form.

Transitioning into Pakistani music, the song "Groove Mera" is the official anthem of PSL 2021. It was written by 3 artists, Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig & Young Stunners (Talha Younus, Talha Anjum). This song shows Pakistani music diversity, with these 3 different artists, from completely different genres, pop, and hip hop, coming together making it into a song that everyone enjoyed and an anthem in celebration of PSL. It shows how trends and globalization have allowed us to come on a path of musical diversity and mixing genres into new music.  

Due to Covid and its restrictions, people were forced to watch "Pakistan’s biggest sporting event", using technology and social media. The globalization of social media has helped led music to flourish and allowed diversity in cultures. During these tough times, a song can bring us together and help us focus on the positives instead of the negatives.

This pandemic has allowed people to be more in in-tune with music and helped musicians and artists branch out. Music helps everyone personally and allows cultures to express themselves. Music has and always will have a huge impact on everybody and will always be that piece of art that brings every culture together.  

Regarding all the subjects, each has taught me something different. Subjects like design, art and English has taught me how much music is evolved in cultures and how much it evolves. Each generation has a different style of music and how genres are made according to those generations.

I didn't learn anything entirely new, I always knew these things but my understanding of has definitely developed and enhanced. I’ve developed my research skills as reading those resources and evaluating the music helped me to improve, and enhanced my thinking skills. French didn't benefit in any way, I didn't learn anything new from it. But over all it taught me about traditions and culture, the importance of it. It developed my understand of how social media is killing literature, especially with this generation and coming ones. How culture influences design and art. I’ve learnt how to relate multiple subjects to one topic, and look at in different ways. I’ve learnt to look at everything in multiple perspectives and understand it better.

PCB and PSL Franchises agreed on schedule of league's 7th edition

The PCB and the PSL franchises have agreed to host the seventh edition of the league in first two months of next year.

The development took place during a virtual meeting of PCB employees and the six PSL franchisors.

Both sides also discussed the path to a new cycle of commercial rights. They also set a framework for the evaluation of rights and subsequent sales.

PCB CEO Wasim Khan, COO Salman Nasir, PSL Senior General Manager Usman Wahla, Salman Iqbal from Karachi Kings, Sameen Rana from Lahore Qalandars, Haider Azhar from Multan Sultans and others attended.

A source familiar with the development said the seventh edition of the PSL will kick off in Karachi. Also adding that the league is likely to start in the first week of January 2021.

Cricket authorities are struggling to organize a seventh edition after PSL-6 failed due to COVID-19. PCB decided to arrange the remainder of the match in Abu Dhabi. But due to limitations and logistical problems, it was postponed many times.

Pakistan Super League cricket suspended over coronavirus cases

Pakistan has suspended its flagship Twenty20 (T20) cricket tournament that started last month after seven team personnel tested positive for COVID-19, the cricket board said.

Teams competing in the country’s highest profile sporting event, in which international players also participate, were all present in the southern city of Karachi, where matches were being played.

“The health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount,” a cricket board statement said on Thursday.

The decision to suspend the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 with immediate effect was made following a meeting with the team owners, it said.

The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which started on February 20. Officials did not immediately give a resumption date.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official told Reuters news agency that three international players were among the seven who tested positive.

The seven players included Australian spinner Fawad Ahmed, England’s Tom Banton and Mohammad Faizan, who represents Lahore.

Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian withdrew from the competition over fears of catching the virus and planned to fly out on Thursday.

The coronavirus has proved yet another hurdle for the PSL, which is now in its sixth edition but was held entirely in Pakistan for just the first time last year.

Previous editions were hosted wholly or partially by the United Arab Emirates over security fears following the deadly 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore.

Last year, three playoffs and the final were cancelled after England’s Alex Hales showed symptoms of COVID-19. The games were rescheduled to November and held behind closed doors, when Karachi Kings won the title.

Authorities last week allowed the PSL tournament to increase crowd sizes from 20 percent to 50 percent stadium capacity.

Pakistan has so far recorded 585,435 cases of COVID-19 and more than 13,000 deaths. The last two days have seen at least 130 deaths, according to government data.

The country imposed a lockdown only for a few weeks after the first COVID-19 case was detected in March last year, and has gradually lifted the few restrictions it had in place since then.
