OF COURSE IT WAS MUTSUKI I LOVE MUTSUKI. have you ever seen his actors twitter account its like my fav place on earth. people on here may not talk about him but i can always log on twitter to see Mutsuki Irl still spending 80% of his time talking about a role he played 20 years ago. toeis been doing a stream of blade (jp region locked😔) and he keeps sharing filming details and its so fun. mutsuki forever

I don't think I follow him on twitter but I have seen his comments about the show!! He and the rest of the cast just seem so so fond of their time on Blade and I'm glad its such good memories for them. Yeah the out of order events was something that I also wasn't that happy about, though I had already grown a tolerance to it since a lot of mobile otome games with events also kind of have this issue. It would be better if the events remained in the order they are but there's not much we can do aside from reading the event progression in order beforehand. Hopefully any other event shifts won't be as jarring as RRG, and at least Artem and Vyn have their progression more or less intact for their fans. Better two of them have out of order progression than all of them.

Vyn's perception is absolutely maxed as high as he can get it. There's a friend of mine who always makes bards with +10 charisma, and Vyn has that but for his perception. He probably does the same in dnd honestly, someone has to save the team from falling for lies and getting themselves in trouble.

xfjdtd nice way to use low rolls to your advantage. The image of a bard trying to serenade everyone with a beautiful song, realising it's just an off day for them and immediately switching gears to singing badly on purpose to annoy everyone is the best thing I've ever heard.

ohhhh, i didnt know this happened in other otome games too!!! tot is the first otome game ive played EVER which is surprising to me since im such a sucker for cheesy romance kjsdbgjsd. yeah, it was only rlly marius' relationship progression that got messed up. luke was fine because he and mc are already close so nothing noticeable was a discrepancy. marius tho, i kept squinting during RRG like.....dude, u havent smirked at mc for 3 whole scenes, are you sick? do you need a nap? im worried KJBKJSBGS

VYN WOULD MAX OUT HIS WISDOM and maybe get his proficiency there too. maybe also intelligence, but i do also want him to have a proficiency in dexterity bcuz hes a nimble archer and equestrian. im p sure his constitution is squishy as fuck tho, no offense, vyn. of all the boys, u look like a strong gust of wind could blow u off into the horizon.

and also if in my maybe future tot dnd fic and the fic is where the team play dnd, im so conflicted bc i want vyn to have a character cuz thats so fun but also, of all of them, he'd be the type to want to be DM the MOST. dnd is inherently improvisational storytelling and no single player has all control, it's a grp thing, yep, but also vyn would still enjoy like, Knowing Things The Others Do Not. i think he'd love creating the premises and lore and backstory and whipping those out when absolutely perfect to make the others scream.

I just read your post about shipping and energy and I finished it with an interesting question in mind. A los of the examples you use to defend the theory the "tension" Or energy beetwen the characters have some Interactions that could be consider "Toxic" Así a relationship, but because of that tensión that just make more fans ship it. Emotions of jelaously, hate, self worth bla bla. I would like to know your opinión on Toxic relationships on shipping and the difference (1/2?)

And the difference of how people Accept it depending if the ship is Slash or het. Dont get me wrong. What I try to exploin in My crappy English is that sometimes I have seen shippers calling Toxic and unhealthy het ships (I can give you plenty of examples) but at the same time drowning in feelings about the exact same concept on Slash. It can be domination, bickering, power dinamics etc.   Please a dont send this ina negative context its just something I have notice (2/2)

No worries, I got you. I think your point is really valid and there are a lot of discrepancies in how people ship when it comes to het versus slash.

In this case, my answer to this has three different parts to it:

1) I am always very, very cautious about applying the term “toxic” to a fictional relationship because--and I am aware this is not a popular opinion to have on tumblr--I do see a clear distinction between fiction and reality. Can systemic, widespread efforts in media to normalize something have impacts on public perception? Sure. Japan’s thing for twelve-year-old girls in anime is fucked up, my dudes. But in terms of fictional relationships, would any sane person look at things like, say, a psychopathic villain and hero ship and go “Oh man, Sephiroth/Cloud is such relationship goals; can’t wait to find me a serial killer!”? “Yeah dude, I really hope my next girlfriend is a yandere who will stab me sixteen times in non-vital places for fun!” “I can’t wait to engage in armed combat with my evil boyfriend who has enslaved my best friends and won’t give them back unless I let the rest of the world perish!” ...said no real person ever. Lots of things happen in fiction that we--as readers and viewers--can fully appreciate would never be okay in the real world. (And yes, this does extend even to more realistic things like jealousy, bickering, bullying--I like Bakugou as a character, but I’d never be able to tolerate a person who acted like him in real life.) 

I wholeheartedly believe that, outside of illegal things which should obviously be reported, each person has responsibility only for their own fandom experience, and I highly encourage people to make full use of the blocking and filtering features available in fandom spaces to avoid any content that makes them feel uncomfortable or any ships they find to be unhealthy.

So: My opinion on toxic ships is that virtually any ship in this world could be perceived as toxic by someone, and that the alternative--a world in which the ONLY ships we’re allowed to write about or draw or even just like are those which are perfectly healthy pure pure love-fests--sounds horrible to me.

2) Very few people ship without an endgame in mind. I can’t think of anyone who looks at two characters who absolutely hate each other and thinks “Wow, I can’t wait to write a 100,000 word fic in which their relationship does not evolve in the slightest and they end the story hating each other exactly as much as they did on Day 1!” JK, maybe I can, I was in the Durarara fandom, after all. When people ship “toxic” relationships, it is almost always with the idea of character growth and change in mind--the idea is “They are not healthy for each other now, but the whole point of my story or art is that they’ll become healthy for each other over time.” The power of love can heallll peopleeee.

Are the characters jealous of each other now, aggressive toward each other now, enemies right now? Obviously in the shipper’s mind, these are challenges that can be overcome in time by the characters learning and developing into better versions of themselves. Perhaps this is an overly optimistic worldview that leads people to make bad choices in real life--awful people in real life rarely change as much for the better as characters in fiction are capable of changing, but that’s the beauty of fiction: it doesn’t show us people as they are, but people as we wish they could be. We want to believe that the toxic pair of characters can find common ground and heal each other. That the people who are jealous of each other will instead come to appreciate each other by the end. That the misunderstandings will be cleared up. That mistakes will be forgiven. People typically aren’t shipping a toxic ship because they love toxicity--they’re shipping that relationship specifically because they see potential beyond that tension.

We typically ship with “happily ever after” in mind, with the understanding that the life is too hard and people too flawed for that road to always be an easy one.

3) I think you are right that there is a discrepancy in the way that people view het ships and slash ships; namely, there is a discrepancy between the way het ships and mlm ships are viewed.

There are probably a lot of long and complicated sociological explanations for this that someone with more research in the field could explain better, but my first thought on this is that the discrepancy is based primarily on how fans understand male and female dynamics versus male and male dynamics.

For example, society is coded strongly to view a man who hits, dominates, or is aggressive to a woman as a very, very bad guy. (Perhaps this is something widespread media depictions have normalized?) Whereas “dude kicks another guy’s ass” has a whole different connotation in modern views. It is certainly a double standard, and part of the reason that so many male victims of abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, etc. go ignored. Men are viewed as “too strong” to be victims; therefore, even many of the “wokest” fans can accept two male characters having a violent dynamic, when they would never accept that scenario between a male and female character.

That said, I think we also need to recognize that the way female characters are portrayed in media contributes to this problem. A preponderance of female characters in media are limited in what they can do and the situations they are allowed to engage in. As with BNHA, for example, “good” women are not allowed to be violent, jealous (other than over boys), aggressive, etc. Women are simply treated as not eligible for a wide variety of the dynamics that fictional men are written with. A male character having a superiority-inferiority complex over his also-male rival? Not surprising in the least. A male character having a superiority-inferiority complex over a female rival? Pshhh, yeah right. A female character bitterly jealous over a male character’s power, leadership, or skill? Surely she just admires his ability. Through a combination of misogyny and toxic masculinity, the stories themselves tell readers that unhealthy dynamics are commonplace and acceptable when they happen between two males, while “good” female characters should only be a source of healthy, supportive dynamics.

If we’re talking about unintended messages that writers send readers/viewers when it comes to character dynamics, this is definitely one of them!

tl;dr: Writers train their readers to expect and want certain things, but often do so carelessly or while unaware of the ways their own stereotypical societal views and cliche genre conventions will be taken and transformed by fandoms.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with? Probably the Gothic Horror WIP thing I’m hesitantly adding things to now in my notes. I don’t usually write really angsty things, because I like the fun/drama combination too much. But this will probs challenge that believe into a more angsty (and probably in a more suspense and gory way). It’s really out of my comfort zone, but that makes me very excited.

Q: How do you feel about collaborations? I’m kind of a lone-writer so I’m not really immediately cheering for this one? I’ve asked people to beta, but those projects were pushed back for things I had more inspiration for. I feel like when I’d do a real writing collab you really need to be on the same page with each other, not just in themes and ideas, but also in style and pace.

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much. GAWWWDDD I HATE THIS I LOVE SO MANY PEOPLEEEE DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE Ok, so. I really like @sothischickshe (or s_t_c_s on AO3). She never fails to amaze me with her crazy but still insanely canon(ish?) situations when it comes to Beth and Rio. I like a lot of her fics, but Bringing Down the Neighbourhood is one of my top 10(?) favorites. Just, ugh, give me all the writers who consider Brio such loons but write them so raw and honestly and hot at the same time. One non-Brio person is Rubikanon. She’s has written one of the best pieces of fanfic I have ever read in my life (even if it’s first-person, which I don’t usually prefer). It’s called Extinction and it’s Hermione/Narcissa. I read it about half a year before getting into writing Brio, but it really fueled my need to write myself again. It has such an amazing plot while also having great depth in character and character development, it’s just so amazing. I’m still shook by it. And someone that inspired me to get into writing Beth/Rio is FakePlastikTrees ( @nakedmonkey on Tumblr). I’m not sure what exactly was the first fic I read in the GG fandom, but it might very well have been You are a Past Sinner or Stay Put & Play Along. And I’m always insanely jealous of people who can write a fic under 2.5k, but she does it really, really well.

the sludgeon complex, a retrospective

aka we just did this dungeon blind today and want to word vomit about it rq. sorry if this doesn't readmore, we're on mobile

would like to keep in mind here that we're playing thru the mod rn for fun and for screencaps, so we have projecte installed and are wearing full gem armor (plus carrying a red katar). should be pretty obvious that we can't speak as to health balancing of enemies or obstacles (with ONE EXCEPTION we're gonna get to)

so! it starts kind of slow. you climb up the tower and are told you've gotta light the braziers. which is cool, except you need moss to do that, so i had to craft up a pair of shears and run into the nearest non-sludge biome to grab some. no idea what you're supposed to do if there's no moss nearby or you don't have octine/syrmorite for tools. perish, i guess?

braziers then spawn some cool lil salamander mage enemies before turning on a light-reflection puzzle. full disclosure, we dig these usually, but the weird barriers in the tower made it more tedious than fun. just let me access the whole room, devs, it's okay, you don't need to make me run up and down the tower like ten times.

anyway: beams of light get shot into a plinth and it's labyrinth time. boy howdy, the aesthetic is immediately alarmingly grungy. literally took one step into the place and was accosted by, uh, no light way to put this - wall centipedes?

the deal with the labyrinthine vaults is twofold: each layer has a key symbol you memorize, then you navigate the vault to the door and input that key symbol. each layer also has 1-3 different obstacles or enemies to keep an eye out for. rapid fire enemy review time

starting strong with Wall Centipedes. we stabbed the wall and got an egg sac. gross but neat.

shamblers! they're like. xenomorph type monsters except they shoot their tongue out of their mouth at you across the room. you're probably supposed to block these with your shield. i like them a lot, even if they're a bit brightly colored

ughhhhh the infinitely spawning sludge worm eggs are annnoyyyyyiiiiinnggg. there's another enemy on this layer, the lamprey - and it's equally kind of annoying, because it does a ton of decay and for some reason has a vaccum attack. also, really could've gone without the spike traps, those didn't really add anything.

this is where things get interesting! first off: sludge jet turrets are really cool and glowy and i think they're neat. and then we have the miniboss on this level, the barrishee. fuck, man, it's cool as HELL - this was the one thing we were spoiled on before entering and even then it spooked us. basically: there's two doors in this layer, one is a mimic and turns into a giant monster you have to fight. it's so good.

pink mushrooms that blind and decay you. i don't understand why they're pink, the color choice there is weird? this layer introduces puffshrooms, though, and dang they're cool. really nice design, and their ability is to very temporarily snag whatever you have in your main hand if you're caught in the blast. wonderful and glowy. i love em.

moooole peopleeee, mooole peopleee- okay, yeah, they're called crypt crawlers, but they're mole people. anyway, they're pretty standard enemies. sometimes the ceiling falls on you. apparently there's a second door that leads to the crypt here, but uh... we didn't find it on our first pass (at least not the "correct" way), so we're not gonna cover that yet

moving walls. this was a really rad gimmick up until we found out that the door was at the end of the corridor and got repeatedly smushed by the wall as we tried to put the correct code in. while in gem armor, it dealt a little under half our health bar. that's frankly unacceptable for damage that was literally unavoidable. just make it so that the door doesn't spawn in a place that gets you smushed, please...

AND NOW. THE PIT. OF DECAY. holy fucking moly this thing's design is rad. starts strong, with a massive clockwork ring around a pit in the center of the room; there's a puzzle element to this fight that i adore, namely figuring out that you've gotta shoot the mirrors on the hanging thing in the center of the room in order to lower a plug into the pit. aiming is a bit finicky and i think the timer on how long it takes before the seal rises again could be a bit more lenient.

then you seal the pit. then the seal gets destroyed. then the boss is... a brown tentacle. yeah, this was a huge letdown from phase one's intricate design; having the sludge menace be just sort of a gunky brown tube is so boring after the wildly cool design of the pit seal itself. hell, half the normal mobs in the sludgeon look cooler. the puffshrooms look cooler.

after i finished slapping the tentacle around, i went back upstairs to find some cool things and some not cool things.

cool: while grabbing some of the neat ladder blocks, it turns out we'd missed some in-between passages that lead to the crypt. ran into it, got a sword, and ran out. the winding walkways were very fun to traverse!

not cool: those fucking sludge worm eggs kept spawning for some reason. also, i couldn't pick up the alcoves or the dungeon door puzzle key blocks, which made me very sad because i wanted them for decor, dang it!

as a last note, there's also mobs - called ash sprites - that come out of the urns in alcoves sometimes when you break the aforementioned urns. behavior/ai wise, they're basically just vex but with a cooler design and they don't die after a set period of time. they can get annoying. i would very much appreciate if they moved just a bit slower so that they were easier to kill.

7/10 the barrishee and the first pit of decay phase slapped so hard that everything else paled in comparison

How to survive Inktober (and any other daily drawing challenge I guess)

It's a slow afternoon so I decided to pep talk myself a bit 😂

Disclaimer: It's personal opinion, so if any of this is not working for you then it's ok. Just find a different methof that works best for you. First of, here is my history with daily drawing challenge 2010: 30 days drawing challenge (29/30) 2013: OTP challenge (5?6?/30) 2016: Bergen doodle (31/31) Inktober (28/31) 2017: Inktober (27/31) <--Granted I started on day5 and did it all the way to day31 2018: IG Inktober + Persona5 Inktober (so far so good) ******* Well, at least I sticked to most of them lol, not complete but not too shabby. Anyway, here are some thoughts about inktober/daily drawing challenge in general 1.) Having friend(s) doing it with you helps a lot, in my case it's because of pride lol. 1.1) that being said, not all of your friends gonna complete the challenge. Don't let it get over you. At the end of the day it's your own challenge. 1.2) but I'd say following many artists almost give you the same effect. It's just fun seeing other people's interpretations and amazing arts. 2.) Busy or not, it's still draining to draw everyday. Ok, I do draw everyday, but not with the mindset that I have to make it nice, presentable (and be a smartass to make it interesting). Being busy, of course, make things worse. But trust me, I couldn't even do the OTP I challenge for one week, and I was on winter break that time. 3.) Prompt is a blessing as much as a curse. If you having trouble coming up with ideas, or being lazy (like me), or love to take challenge then go for it. But prompt is not absolute. There will be a few prompts that you either have absolutely no idea what to draw, or just hate it. It's fine. Just ignore that prompt and do something you like. Come up with your own idea, mix it up with different prompt, etc. 3.1) Being stubborn with prompt is freaking draining. You might managed to come up with one (from hours or days of thinking and staring at a blank paper), but it affect your metality. And it's kinda reason why you burn out. 4.) This is obvious but you gotta do what you are interested in. Come up with theme, or different approach to do the challenge (accordian style, drawing with brush only etc) will keep your passion to continue. But don't pressure yourself too hards. Daily challenge suppose to be fun not chores. If it's not working or you don't feel like it then just skip it :v 5.) Drawing everyday =/= come up with idea for one per day. Likeeee do it in bulk if you have time peopleeee. Sketch dump all the ideas for the whole freaking prompt list if you can. Don't be like me who stared blankly at the paper everyday, thinking about what to draw for that very day. Especially if you are busy and you don't have energy by the end of the day. It's so much easier to just have the idea ready, and when you got home you can just start witout wasting extra energy. (I'm doing two sets this year, and so far this is the least burn out year I have been doing) Hint: I just think about what to draw while commuting to work, and jotted the ideas down later. 5.1) From the point above, it doesn't even need to ba fancy. Most of my ideas rn are in words so I have general idea with what to draw. Use thumbnail if it's easier to visualized but basically just record it so that you don't forget. 6.) It's ok to have bad day and end up with bad art (in your pov anyway, most ppl won't notice it). You have to freaking draw everyday, and people understand if it's not a whole perfect month. 7.) Also it's not an obligation to draw everyday. If life happens, if you need sleep then go for it. Put yourself before the challenge. It's good to complete the challenge but not so great if your body or mentality crashed along the way. 8.) SLEEP. Please sleep. Exhaustion fogs your mind and make you work slower. Spoiler, I'm horrible at this lmao. 9.) Have fun. Seriously though, the whole point of daily challenge is to have fun while improving your skill. If it's become chores then that destroy the whole purpose of the challenge. Give yourself a break! It's ok to rest and search your love/passion/desire to draw again. (Because if you keep pushing and end up burning out then it takes so much longer to recover.) Hoo boi that's freaking long. If you finish reading the whole thing then congrats! We can go throught this together! <3

So i was reading and i saw a a page which says

Men:men can be anything like doctors or engineers but women should only cook or take care of the house or if they really wanna work they should be nurses or librarians.
