mostly based his appearance off of the actor, david howard thornton, obviously. just tried to make him look like he hasn't showered in 5 months. gave him a lazy eye cus david has one, and blond eyelashes bc it fit the vibe to me LOL

anyways. i forgot i took this photo of an art the clown animatronic at spirit halloween this august.

Okay so I've been thinking about Terrifier since seeing the third film last night, and I'm currently rewatching the first one, but there's something I picked up on while watching Terrifier 3.

In the first film, we see Art applying his clown makeup.

It's pretty clearly implied (especially by a few choice lines in Terrifier 3) that Art WAS human, at some stage, and was resurrected by a demon. It's unclear if he was already undead (?) during the events of Terrifier or if that resurrection was what we see at the start of Terrifier 2, but it's clear that during the first and second film he was wearing clown makeup.

During the laundromat scene in Terrifier 2 we can even see that he has normal human ears underneath the hood. However, after his decapitate and Vicky rebirthing his head there's a clear change.

His ears are gone! They're just strange, fleshy nubs. Plus, there's no edge to the makeup, it takes up his whole face! It seems like as Art continues regenerating, he becomes his costume more and more.

I don't think this has any grand, sweeping implications for the series but it's an interesting thought! Maybe the Art we saw was back in The 9th Circle is what Art looked like when he first started out and his changing appearance has an in-universe explanation.
