Pete didn't realize he was holding his breath until Vegas slightly moved in front of him. He was too focused on what was in Vegas' hands, stretched in his direction for Pete to apparently take.

A gift, Vegas called it. Pete couldn't understand.

"Vegas. What are those?"

It was a stupid question to ask, but Pete couldn't help it.

Vegas' grip tightened around the bouquet. "Isn't it obvious? Flowers," he replied hastily, the pitch of his voice higher than normal. "Do you not like them?"

He was nervous. On edge. It explained some things, but not everything. Pete had to know. He had to figure out what was going on.

"Did something happen at the compound?"

Vegas had been at a meeting with Porsche all evening. He had seemed fine upon returning home, but then he suddenly interrupted Pete who had been washing the dishes and pulled out a bouquet of yellow roses from his backpack and he offered them to him with a warm smile on his face, somehow expecting Pete to not grow suspicious of the gesture.

"Why do you think something happened at the compound?" Vegas asked and his tone of voice made Pete finally raise his head to look at him.

Vegas looked hurt. His eyes were glassy, his breathing uneven. He was going to cry soon if this conversation continued. Pete didn't want that.

"I... just... Vegas, we can go to our bedroom if you want-"

"Fuck, Pete, it's not about that," Vegas groaned and threw the bouquet on the dinner table. He ruffled his hair harshly and muttered something Pete didn't hear. Probably calling himself a failure, as always.

"Has nobody ever given you a present before?" he shouted two seconds later, returning his attention to Pete, who could feel his eyebrows furrowing as he was staring back at him.

All Pete could do at the moment was utter the first thing that came to his mind.

"No? Why would they need to?"

Seeing the change in Vegas' demeanor made Pete come to a second realization then; that was the wrong answer to give.

I love their opposite styles. Black and white and pastels. Tall and short (it said that she the same size as default players). And they both have animal features! I can’t wait to see how their dynamic is in game

Honestly her body shape has really changed since the original. But I’m probably still gonna doodle her in the original circle face.

Also the simple outfit is what actually underneath the blankets/ her sleep wear outfit. And her cloak like thing before sentience did show her neck and had a hoodie on the back before it was attached to her collar thing and made to have strings.

i'm glad the technocat is doing numbers. i've been ridden with nostalgia the past weeks for the 00s. patagonian 00s not whatever the 00s meant for the global north. my parents were computer techincians so my house was filled with old hardware, dusty cables, programming manuals printed single-sided (i drew in the blank), and my mom would go out once in a while to get me new games (on pirated cds, and half of them didn't work). most of my primary school classmates didn't even know what a computer was (eso cambió gracias a conectar igualdad ✌)

the crisis and living in such a remote place meant new things would never come and you wouldn't even find out, i got my first flat-ish pc screen in 2009 and kept using it until last year lol, i used an mp3 until 2014. i remember the fanciest phone you could get was a blackberry. i remember when smartphones appeared and literally ruined everything and the divide between internet and real life disappeared. sorry i'm gonna go grab my cane now

So lately I’ve been thinking (which is weird and rare) and yk i realized just now that my childhood was not the standard, that very few people experience what I’ve been through. I thought that it was very normal and not a big deal crying every week because your elementary school friends invited you over after school and you had to decline every time because you had training and not going wasn’t an option. I thought it was like very normal to cry for 5 hours straight most of the days because of pain and frustration??? And breaking bones was like, common sense, that’s gonna happen eventually, multiple times too, not a big deal. The skin on your hands exploding? Spit on it and go back up, another round. Not being able to eat after 7 hours of training because you’re too exhausted to even stand up? Yeah it’s okay ima take a shower. You’re scared shitless and having a panic attack because survival instincts are taking over but you HAVE to go up on that beam and flip or you’ll be sent home? Alright, geez, I’m going I’m going. “Today you misbehaved, you went to get water without permission after not drinking for 2 hours during floor in a 35 degree weather. After lunch break you’re doing 200 push ups, I’m counting”. You smashed your nose during enforcement and now you’re bleeding? Shiiiit I’ve gotta go stuff some toilet paper up that nostril or I’ll stain everything. You’re throwing up because you’re too exhausted?
