Something that gets me about Prodigy is how much the kids love Kathryn. They don't just save Chakotay for the Protostar, but also to bring him back to her, because they love her and because they know how much she loves him.

Okay, I've got like 5 episodes left but I am so impressed with Star Trek Prodigy. I really didn't think I was gonna like it because it's just hard for me to get into animation. IDK why. It's some sort of mental block. But, it's actually great. The storytelling is so strong. They have a perfect balance of arc/one off episodes.

And the animation is gorgeous. Because it's animation and not meant to be a comedy like Lower Decks (love you too LD <3) they make everything so pretty. The new planets. The nebulas. The ships. Even the characters. Dal is just a beautiful looking character. I love the purple and the spots around his eyes.

I love that a Medusan is one of the main characters. Since Is There in Truth No Beauty? is one of my favorite TOS episodes. And Zero is such a great character. I love them.

I have no attachment to Voyager but I do appreciate the characters being there. It doesn't feel forced. They found an organic story to work Janeway, Chakotay, and The Doctor in. God help me, they even Made Wesley Crusher cool!

All this to say, I'm now just as pissed as the rest of you that this got canned after only two seasons! I demand more Prodigy.

Can we talk about this moment with Dal and Gwyn?

After all his other friends go off to do the fun things they get to do, Dal is stuck with studying command textbooks. As someone with ADHD I sympathize because no matter how long I study for my brain refuses to retain any of it. I suspect like me Dal learns better from doing.

So Dal calls up Gwyn and she… VALIDATES him. She recognizes instantly that he’s struggling and that this method of learning and school busywork doesn’t work for him. And she’s encouraging to him!

And in turn Dal is supportive of Gwyn’s fears too. He recognizes she’s worried and he not only validates her but also gives her a morale boost. His “charm” coming through.

I just really appreciate this moment. It shows how much he has grown and it’s nice that they can open up to each other when they’re vulnerable. Healthy communication and relationship building is super important to see, respect for kids.

And I feel so bad for Dal too. He’s trying SO HARD and it’s just not clicking. I’ve been there. There are things I am passionate about, things I desperately want to do… and it’s maddening when your brain is designed in such a way that achieving those things you want to do is neigh on impossible due to your brain chemistry and chemical imbalances you cannot control.

And it upsets me when so many reviewers complain “JUST READ THE BOOKS, DAL!” and have no concept that they’re being part of the problem. Nobody chooses to be lazy. If someone is being “lazy” or avoidant, there’s ALWAYS a tangible reason for it.

I wish neurotypical people could see Dal the way I do. Maybe then they’d be less harsh towards him.

Wanted to repaint a frame from season 2 of Prodigy for STLV in bleach on a t-shirt. I learned a lot and I'm very happy with it, but most people totally didn't even notice it at the con which was a little disappointing. In total, it was six layers of stencils for the bleach, and I painted some details in gold and glow-in-the-dark fabric paint. I didn't get a picture of the back, but I splattered some bleach on the back and it looks nice.

Stream Star Trek: Prodigy seasons I & II on netflix; the creators originally had a 5 season arc for the show and its in serious danger of being cancelled. I know there's a lot going on in the world and this doesn't really matter, but I adore this show--that's all :))))))

I understand that paper isn't much of a Thing so far into the future, but I like the idea of Maj'el specifically having a journal she keeps hidden in her quarters. It's fun to imagine her going back to her quarters and just writing down the events of the day.

"Woah, Maj'el, what's this thing?"

Maj'el: "It is a historical artifact." *supicious pause* "That I have been studying."

*looks at the well-kept, decorated journal with Maj'el's name written in Vulcan on the cover* "Sure... historical artifact. I didn't know history was your thing."

Maj'el, well aware history is not her thing: "Yes. It's a very interesting topic."

"Oh, really? That's really cool, Maj. Can you tell me more about this artifact?"

Maj'el, a prolific liar: "I promised the Doctor I'd review his holonovels, I'm afraid I must leave now."

Zero: How do I... flirt?

Dal: Wait. You're asking... me?

Zero: Yes, I want to let Maj'el know I am

Zero: interested in her!

Gwyn: Whatever you do, don't listen to any advice Dal gives you.

Dal: HEY! What're you implying?]

I just know that Dal, Gwyn, Jankom, Rok, and Murf would've been so supportive of Zero and Maj'el. With everything else that went on with this season, there obviously wasn't a lot of time to invest in it, but I would've loved to see conversations between Zero and their friends about their first crush/relationship.

History has proven most things work that way, even Vulcan history.

I mean there was probably a time when Vulcans considered space travel and/or the existence of intelligent life in the cosmos illogical too.

Even up to the 23rd century, Vulcan being conquered seemed inconceivable to them. Though the surviving Vulcans of the Kelvin timeline certainly knew better.

Guys I GOT IT FINISHED WITH AN HOUR TO SPARE BEFORE S2 DROPPED.

I present 'Welcome Home' in which the Unwanted crew get to finally meet the Captain Chakotay that Admiral Mom-way keep telling them about and they have spent all this time trying to get back with her.

And some close ups of the Janeway and Chakotay not even trying to not be attached to each other (ft a little tiny sort of conversation). Yes he has a bunch of flowers, one for each of them. Kathryn already has her peace rose.
