Disclaimer: Most artists outside of antiquity used Aphrodite/Venus interchangeably for a myriad of cultural and religious reasons. I do understand that Venus and Aphrodite are syncretized deities with different aspects in Greek and Roman society respectively.

“Das Denkmal wurde am 19. Juli 1885 in Erinnerung an den siegreichen Deutsch-Französischen-Krieg 1870/71 sowie den Deutsch-Dänischen Krieg 1864 und den Deutsch-Österreichischen Krieg 1866 eingeweiht.
Bei dieser Plastik handelt es sich um die Germania, einer mit Schwert, Schild und Kettenhemd gerüsteten Frauengestalt.”
