Place Of The Day: Cafe Gongbech
Tumblr media
Located: 83 Dongbok-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do
Hours: 10:00-19:00
This cafe, which ARMY may already know as the cafe run by BTS Suga’s brother is tucked in the northeast coast of Jeju Island.
Tumblr media
The best thing about this cafe is probably the view. You can walk around the cafe and marvel at the water, sky, and rocks. Because of the cafe’s minimal decor and layout you can really appreciate the view.
Tumblr media
The modern/cube-like building is the main cafe. The main building at a first glance looks like a concrete cube so it can give off a cold vibe, but the floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel very open and light.

How To Get Around Jeju Island
Tumblr media
While there is plenty to do on Jeju Island, it’s easy to get lost if you’re taking public transportation. I live here and the bus routes are confusing. Not only are the bus route times inconsistent, but depending on the time of day, the buses will change routes. If you’re only going to visit the island for a few days, then you can catch a cab to get around. Taking a cab is inexpensive; roughly 8,000 won (5 US dollars) for a 20-minute ride.
PUBLIC TRANSIT UPDATE If you plan to go the cheaper route, then you’re in luck! Apparently, the bus system has been improved. Let’s go over the basics.
Jeju Island is divided into two large cities. The northern half is Jeju City and the southern half is Seogwipo City. Jeju City consists of Chujado, Blyangdo, Chagwido, Hangyeong, Hallim, Aewol, Jeju City, Jocheon, Gujwa, and Udo. Seogwipo City consists of Gapado, Daejeong, Andeok, Jungmun, Seogwipo, Namwon, Pyoseon, and Seongsan.
Jeju buses are numbered based on how far they travel: 100s - Intercity Buses (between Jeju and Seogwipo) 200s, 300s, 500s - City Buses (within city) 400s, 600s, 700s - Village Buses 810s and 820s - Tourist/Sightseeing Buses
Jeju buses are color coded: -Red buses follow the Jeju Express routes -Blue buses follow the Jeju Intercity routes -Green buses follow the branch routes -Yellow buses follow the tourist areas
Jeju Bus Fare -One way on a city bus (without transfers) will cost you a flat rate of only 1,200 won in cash (that’s less than 1 US dollar) or only 1,150 won with a T-money Card -One way on an intercity bus will cost you anywhere from 1,300-3,300 won (that’s 1-3 US dollars) depending how far you are traveling -One way from Jeju to Seogwipo or vice versa will cost you about $3,300 won
Get a T-money Card You can purchase a T-money Card (transit card) at any convenience store (or the 7-Eleven at the airport). The card itself will cost 2,500 won and you can add money to it on the spot and refill it whenever you start to run low on transportation funds. Depending on how many places you want to visit, will affect how much you’ll want to load onto your card. If you’re traveling with one other person, then you can save money by purchasing one T-money card and sharing it. But if you’re traveling with a group that might separate or get separated at some point, then it’s probably best to get a T-money card for each person. I’d start by loading 25,000 won onto the card, which could last you anywhere from 2-5 days depending on how far you travel each day.

As part of fulfilling my pledge from before and as a celebration of me becoming a fan of BTS, I’ll start my own version of ‘BTS Tour‘ with filming locations related to their album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life (화양연화 / HYYH). From MVs, jacket photos, prologue video down to their epilogue video from this comeback, I’ll try to cover them!
Without further ado, let’s go ARMY!
| PHOTO SHOOT
💜 Bomun Tourist Complex ( 보문 관광단지 )
In their album ‘The most beautiful moment in life, part 1‘, the man-made Bomun Lake (in Bomun Tourist Complex) with its many cherry blossom trees that decorate it in spring became BTS members’ backdrop for their photo shoot.
Within the Bomun Tourist Complex are facilities designed in a traditional style such as the tourist center, international conference room, golf resort, shopping mall, and a tourist hotel, etc. But Bomun Lake is famous for bikers and people who love to walk since it does have a long walkway around it with many cherry trees. Surely, you’ll love to go there too in spring!
Location: Sinpyeong-dong, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do (경상북도 경주시 신평동) Info: visitkorea
💜 Gyeongju Cheomseongdae Observatory ( 경주 첨성대 )
Tumblr media
Another beautiful location from their 화양연화 photo shoot is the Cheomseongdae Observatory in Gyeongju.
This flower field is actually surrounding the observatory tower itself. Isn’t it really pretty from the pictures? But wait! I know you’re here for BTS, but let me tell you this: Cheomseongdae is known as the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia. It was constructed during the reign of Queen Seon Deok! The place stands out on its own because of its meaningful existence and history so be sure to drop by especially in the spring just like BTS did!
Location: 140-25, Cheomseong-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do 경상북도 경주시 첨성로 140-25 (황남동) Info: visitkorea
💜 Jeju Island – Andeul Oreum (안돌오름)
Tumblr media
HYYH was also filmed in various locations in Jeju island just like this particular photo shoot the boys had in one of Jeju Island’s oreum trails. The photos they had here came out looking so magical as if they were in a dream and depicted their very fun youth days as they played in the fields of Jeju while surrounded by bubbles and nature itself.
According to wikipedia, ‘oreum’ in Jeju dialect implies to the ‘parasitic cone’ and the origin of the word is also ‘climb’. Jeju’s oreum refers to a small volcano within the main volcanic crater in Jeju-do and is typically applied to the hill in Jeju. There are more than 360 oreums throughout Jeju-do from the mountains down to the coast, which is pretty surprising. I’ve actually never thought Jeju Island housing volcanoes in it! 🙂
Location: 2171 Songdang-ri, Gujwa-eup, Cheju, Jeju-do, South Korea
💜 Dongneo Bundeok (동너분덕)
Tumblr media
As seen from their HYYH photo, the members are about to jump off a cliff. This rocky cliff is actually still located in Jeju Island, namely called ‘동너분덕’ which is part of Jeju’s hiking Olle trail #7. Out of all the hiking trails in Jeju, this is said to be the most beautiful trail that visitors should try out. The cliff overlooking the island’s surrounding sea looks especially magnificent!
Location: 797-3 Cheonji-dong, Seogwipo, Jeju-do, South Korea
💜 참외전로
Tumblr media
BTS made this area of Songwol’s neigborhood in Incheon their very own runway as they pose for their HYYH album in chic casual clothing. In the picture, the boys are seen together crossing the street with smiles on their faces while the rays of sun adds drama to the entire concept.
Location: 11-113 Songwol-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, South Korea
| Prologue/Music Videos/Epilogue
💜 Abandoned Swimming Pool at SNU
Tumblr media
This abandoned swimming pool makes its appearance on their HYYH prologue video. It starts off with Taehyung alone in the empty and old pool, lying down on a mattress. The boys are seen running towards the place to hang out with Taehyung. As many fans had already been there, they say that the place looks eerie, but the boys gave life and color to the place that was once not often visited by many.
Location: SNU Genetic Engineering Research Center. Semiconductor Research Center                   유전공학연구소.반도체공동연구소.
💜 Seonjaedo (Seonjae Island)
When the members decided to go to the beach in HYYH prologue it was Seonjae Island where they went to apparently.
Seonjaedo which is located in Incheon is believed to have been there since the Neolithic Era. The name Seonjaedo literally means “an island where a divine fairy came down and danced.”
Location: 101, Seonjae-ro 34beon-gil, Ongjin-gun, Incheon
💜 Nodeulseom (Nodeul Island)
Tumblr media
As seen from their Run MV, the members of BTS passes under the Hangang Bridge in full speed, stopping at some point to join Jungkook who looks rather lonely, but smiles as soon as his hyungs reaches him.
This filming location is known to be part of Nodeulseom, which is an artificial island in Han River. The Hanggang Bridge passes directly over the said island that is actually to the east of the larger island of Yeouido.
See here an image of Nodeulseom from Google maps.
Location: 305-9 Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea
💜 North of Banpo Bridge
Tumblr media
Another scene from the Run MV was filmed around north of the infamous Banpo Bridge–known for its ‘Moonlight Rainbow Fountain‘ which is known as the world’s longest bridge fountain.
Location: 271-120 Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea
💜 Mosan Airfield in Jecheon
Mosan Airfield, which was featured in BTS’ ‘Epilogue: Young Forever‘ MV is now a well known tour spot to ARMY alike. In the video, the members are seen walking this path as the sky turns a shade of pink, orange, yellow and amber as the sun starts to set at the distance.
The airfield was built in the 1950s for military training as an effort to prevent war and protect peace. However, today, the place has been transformed into a park after the city and military agreed to open a part of the land to the public.
Location: 1065-2 Goam-dong, Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea
💜 Gyeongjeong Beach
In the prologue MV, the boys went out to go to the sea. They happily watch the sun go down while sitting on the sea wall. A poignant looking Taehyung, however, looks up and notices the tall platform installed nearby facing the sea. He climbs up the platform and doesn’t go down despite the other members finally noticing him and telling him to go down. Then, Taehyung bravely jumps as if he has wings of a butterfly.
Location: 426-1 Gyeongjeong-ri, Chuksan-myeon, Yeongdeog, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea
💜 Dongdaemun Apartment
Tumblr media
From the ‘I Need U’ MV, Taehyung is seen walking around the corridors of this apartment building.
The said apartment building is inhabited by real people and has been renovated and repainted over time, so it may be a little confusing if you go there. Also, if ever you guys have plans to go to the place please be considerate of the people living there.
Location: 328-17 Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea
💜 Wolmido Culture Street
Tumblr media
In ‘For You‘ MV, Jungkook dejectedly sits down on a bench in his bear costume with Wolmido Island’s ‘Culture Street’ in the backdrop. The view is so captivating from the filmed MV that one won’t just be able to take their eyes of it!
In addition, the island of Wolmido is located roughly 1km off the coast of Incheon. Due to its accessibility, many people go to the island over the weekends to have fun, enjoying various activities like performances at night, street artists showcasing their talent in drawing, cafe and seafood restaurants open to bring good food along the coast so these can be enjoyed while viewing the sea. Also, there is also a theme park here called ‘Play Hill’ which is famous for its thrill rides, including the Viking and Apollo Disco.
Location: 57 Wolmimunhwa-ro, Gaho-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, South Korea
💜 Incheon Open Port Nuri-gil
Tumblr media
Also in ‘For You’ MV, Jungkook is seen standing right in front of an old-looking building that has that Japanese feel to it. While I want to give emphasis to how cute JK looks here, I want to also focus on the area where this building stood. This area is called ‘Incheon Open Port Nuri-gil’ which actually opened in 1883 during the Japanese colonization in Korea. The establishment of this area in Incheon forced the birth of other modern historical architecture here than are still found intact. There are also other known architectures such as the Incheon Art Platform, Jemulpo Gurakbu, Jung-gu Office and the Incheon branch of Japan’s 1st, 18th and 58th bank.
Location: 1-2 Haeandong 1(il)-ga, Jung-gu, Incheon, South Korea
💜 Saemangeum reclaimed land, Buan County
Tumblr media
The ‘Save Me‘ MV graces us with dance moves from BTS members that I never thought would be born. Again, BTS becomes one with nature when they shot the MV at a clear land under a not-so-clear sky, but then again the ambiance added to the charm of the song itself.
But did you know this? If you watch the behind story of this MV, you’ll find out they actually filmed the MV while it was raining. So, it was very hard for them to dance as soil turned to mud! Good thing that our hard working boys made it possible for the masterpiece to still look perfect!
Going back to the main point, the MV was actually filmed in Buan County. As Yoongi hinted in the behind story, Buan is located in North Jeolla. The nondescript land is actually reclaimed land in front of the Saemangeum Project Office in Byeonsan neighborhood, so it might be hard to find. Plus, if you look in Google maps, most likely it will only point you to an image of the sea, so in case you want to try and go there try searching for ‘Saemangeum Project Office’ instead.
Location: Daehang-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do
💜 Neungnae Tunnel
Tumblr media
At Neungnae tunnel, we see such a head-turning scene where Jin’s pick-up truck blocks the way, preventing other cars from passing through. Jungkook sits atop of Jin’s truck and looks back victoriously behind him and eventually the seven of them cause trouble–spray painting the cars, spitting drinks, jumping over cars, throwing cups and everything a rebellious teen in their age in BU will do.
See here for google map view of the tunnel.
Location: 951 Sanbon-dong, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do
💜 Hwajeon Tunnel
Tumblr media
Another running scene from ‘Run’ MV was shot at the Hwajeon Tunnel in Gyeonggi-do. In here, just like with most scenes from the MV, BTS goes for an endless run at night as if having a blast just being together.
See here for an image of the tunnel from Google maps.
Location: South Korea, Gyeonggi-do, Goyang-si, Deokyang-gu, Hwajeon-dong, 583-3
So, ARMY there you have it! I didn’t know that HYYH era actually used a lot of filming locations in Korea, but here they are. This is for sure not the complete list you must be looking for but I’ll try to find out more information as I search along, since I do still wonder where that trailer track is located at, or that place at the end of the prologue MV where they all fell asleep at. I’m still so much curious and I know I haven’t showcased everything, so I’ll make sure to update this post once I get a hold of the right information.
Lastly, this shall not be the last ‘BTS Tour’ post! I’ll come up with other posts for the other eras or other BTS related filming locations and try to research really hard to help whoever curious souls are out there that are hungry to know where they can go in Korea in the name of BTS. 🙂
In the meantime, check out the other snapshots I took from their videos.

Driving in Jeju is the best way to get around Jeju Island’s attractions. We hired a private driver to take us around most of the Jeju attractions indicated below. He was down-to-earth, very generous in sharing his knowledge about Jeju and also fun!
We invited him to all of our meals and he had us cheers to Makkoli, a traditional alcoholic beverage native to Korea made of rice grains. It is milky, translucent in colour.
We paid for 130,000 won/ day and hired him for 2.5 days for our trip in Jeju.

2. Manjanggul Lava Tube (Manjanggul Cave)
Jeju is well known for its natural monuments and thus visiting the Manjanggul Lava Tube, one of the top 10 longest lava tubes in the world, should definitely be on your list.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site was formed when lava that was beneath the ground flows up to the surface and hardens, forming a crust. The lava below continues flowing until it hollows out forming a tunnel.
What makes the Manjanggul Lava Tube unique is that its features are all very distinct and well maintained. Expect to see many interesting geological structures such as lava stalactites, lava toes, as well as resident bats!
Be sure to spot the famous “Stone Turtle” structure which resembles the shape of Jeju island. The star attraction is at the end of the walk – the tallest lava column in the world at 7.8m!
While the entire cave snakes for around 13km, only 1km of that is open to tourists, so a round-trip will take slightly less than an hour.
TIP: Temperatures in the tunnel do go down to a range of 11°C to 21°C, so do bring a jacket along with you and wear proper walking shoes.

4. Seongsan Ilchubong Peak (Sunrise Peak)
Also known as “Sunrise Peak”, this UNESCO Heritage Site is one of Jeju’s must-see natural attractions.
Seongsan Ilchubong is a crater, formed and risen from under the sea over 10,000 years ago due to a volcanic eruption. At 180m tall, It is also said that this is the best spot in Jeju to watch the sun rising over the ocean. The sedimentary strata revealed and eroded by waves is witness to nature’s act of work.
It is a rather steep hike up to the peak and should take you about an hour. Upon reaching the peak, you will find 99 sharp rocks surrounding the crater, making it look like a gigantic bowl (or a matcha egg tart, if you will)?
One of the best periods to visit this beautiful geographical landscape is in spring as the surrounding yellow canola flowers would be in full bloom.
If you’re there during the summer time instead, catch the haenyeo performance at 1:30pm.

The north side of the crater greets you with Nandaeseong vegetation such as red-thorn trees, magnolia trees, along with the rare winter strawberries, while the south side of the crater is where you can find Ondaerim vegetation such as evergreens, maples, and mountain strawberry trees.
If you’re a Korean drama fan, you’ll be glad to know that the crater was also a filming site of the drama ‘’Love Wind, Love Song” and “Goddess of Marriage”.

Located at the foot of Halla Mountain on Jeju Island, this well-preserved village is very unique as there are still people living there the way their ancestors did, till this very day.
Walking around the village is free and often the locals will invite you to try a hand at some of their daily chores done the old korean traditional way such as rope twisting.
As you find your way around 3,000 stone and clay houses, notice how the alleys are straight yet curvy at the same time. Apparently, it was intentionally built this way to keep away the harsh winter winds!
Black pigs!
While there, try and spot the traditional black pigs littered throughout the village, all of which would probably end up on your dinner plate. Jeju black pork is said to be very nutritious and of course, delicious!

8. Yongduam Dragon Head Rock
The scientific explanation for the formation of this geological monument is simply the erosion of coastal rocks over thousands of years. However, it is the many stories behind this dragon shaped rock which makes visiting this rock that much more interesting.
One legend has it that a dragon was stealing precious jade from Mt. Halla but got shot down by the mountain deity. When he fell down on to Yongduam, his body immediately sank into the ocean and his head rapidly froze while looking into the sky.
Another has it that a white horse, who dreamt of being a dragon flying to the sky, was caught by a soldier and thus froze to become a rock.
If time permits, take some time to walk down the short trail where you can get a better view of the rock and the coastline.
There are also a ton of cafes and restaurants nearby serving fresh seafood if you’re up for that!

9. EAT: Raw Fish Restaurant (해녀횟집)
Jeju Island is known for its fresh seafood and raw fish, served sashimi style.
These seafood are caught by the well-known, Haenyeo ‘mermaids’ aka female divers who catch live seafood by hand from the ocean floor! How impressive is that!
A must-try in Jeju is definitely the abalone sashimi, as vouched by many on TripAdvisor.
Address: 1192-11 Samdo 2(i)-dong, Cheju, Jeju-do, South Korea

Hwaro Hyang Restaurant is one of the more popular restaurants in the area, serving fresh juicy black pork with your Korean BBQ.

11. Mysterious Road
Also known as Dokkaebi Road, it was absolutely baffling being on this road.
Our car seemed to be rolling uphill, going against all laws of gravity, I had to blink a couple of times as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing.
Although I knew it was just an optical illusion (The Mysterious Road is a slight downhill slope that looks like it is uphill because of the seemingly high surroundings), it was entertaining as we experienced it first-hand by putting pouring some water on the ground and watch it roll ‘uphill’.
Address: 289-15 Nohyeong-dong, Cheju, Jeju-do, South Korea
12. Hallasan National Park
You guys know I am a huge hiking enthusiast. Travelling to different countries to hike is probably one of my favourite ways to experience a destination.
In Jeju, Hallasan National Park is the holy grail for hiking. A UNESCO Heritage Site, it is located right at the heart of Jeju, with 368 parasitic volcanoes called Oreums (peaks) scattered around the main mountain.
Hallasan mountain is the tallest mountain in South Korea and offers many beginner-friendly hiking treks too.
With five different hiking routes that are below 10 km to choose from, you will not be disappointed by the spectacular views at the peak.
i. Seongpanak Trail:
Seongpanak → Dongneung Peak 9.6 km / 4 hrs 30 mins each way
ii. Eorimok Trail:
Eorimok → Nambyeok Bungijeom km / 3 hrs each way
iii. Eoseungsaengak Trail:
Eorimok → Eoseungsangak Peak 1.3 km / 30 min each way
iv. Yeongsil Trail:
Yeongsil – Nambyeok Bungijeom 5.8 km / 2 hrs 30 mins each way
v. Gwaneumsa Trail:
Gwaneumsa Temple – Dongneung Peak 8.7 km / 5 hrs each way
There are over 1,800 kinds of plants and 4,000 species of animals that reside in these mountains so take your time if you can, to stop and bask in the beauty of nature. Allocate at least 3 to 4 hours for this.
Do remember to bring lots of water and be dressed in suitable hiking attire. Take a light jacket with you even during the summer as it gets chilly at high altitudes.
TIP: Sunglasses and skin protection are also a must, as the sun does get strong on Hallasan even in the winter.

13. 1100 Highland or 1100 Meter Road
At 1100m above sea level, this wetland with its kilometre-long boardwalk offers beautiful views regardless of the season.
In winter, the trees are covered in glistening white snow, while in the fall, the leaves turn a rich mixture of yellow and orange.
The 1100 Meter Road passes through Hallasan, making it an easy stopover since you will be passing by on your way to/ from Hallasan National Park.
TIP: Located on Highway 1139 which will also take you past Eorimok, Yeongshil and Mysterious Road, I would recommend doing all these places on the same day, like we did for our Jeju itinerary.

14. Soesokkak Estuary
The Soesokkak Estuary is where fresh water from the Hyodoncheon stream meets the vast ocean. Soak up the tranquillity of the place as you watch the water flow to join the deep blue waters of the ocean.
Cliffs and odd-shaped lava formations line the sides of the water, adding to the character of this scenery.
Here, you might also see many small flat wooden boats, also known as “Teu”. These boats have been used to ferry people across the estuary for centuries. Getting over to the other side is sure not an easy task. Look closely and you will find that the boat is actually pulled across the length of the estuary by a long rope strung between the two banks!
A ride on a Teu is available at a fee so you can take in the stunning beauty of the place by water.

15. Jeongbang Falls
Jeongbang Falls is one of the topmost waterfalls to visit in Jeju. Standing at 23m high, it is the only waterfall in Asia that falls directly into the ocean. You can experience this grand waterfall up close if you skip your way over some loose rocks as you venture further in. Staying dry is not guaranteed!
Also, try spotting an old, evergreen tree that perches majestically on the edge of the cliff, hovering precariously above the vast sea.
Another waterfall you may want to visit while here is the Sojeongbang Waterfall. Just a 300m eastwards’ stone’s throw away from Jeongbang Falls, head up to the observatory at the top of the cliff and you will be blessed with a breathtaking view of the great blue.

16. Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
Cheonjiyeon translates into “sky connected to land”, which is exactly what you see when you cast your eyes on this gushing waterfall. Although it is only 22m high, the water flows as if it is falling from the heavens.
There is a 1km subtropical path available if you’re up for a stroll to continue admiring this natural wonder. Hearing the sounds of the moving water does certainly strikes a connection between one and nature.
If you do get the chance, visit Cheonjiyeon at night when it is illuminated by lights. It is one heck of an ethereal beauty.

Jeju definitely has no lack of natural wonders and the Oedolgae Rock is another impressive one.
Standing at 10m tall, this rock rises above the emerald green waters and is surrounded by cliffs and lush greenery, forming the perfect backdrop to watch the sunset.
Fans of the 2003 hit television series Dae Jang Geum (Da Chang Jin/ Jewel in the Palace) would be happy to know that this was also one of the show’s filming locations.
There is a walking trail, so if you’re up for a trek, set aside around 2 hours of your day, and I promise you the views surrounding your trail will entertain you throughout.

18. EAT: Tam Gung Restaurant (탐궁)
I have mentioned Jeju’s black pork multiple times in this post but I just cannot get enough of it!
Tam Gung restaurant is famous for barbecue and grilled food, especially for its Heuk Dwaeji Ogyeopsal – five layered black pig. Another popular item to order is its seasoned beef galbi.
As we all know, good food takes time, so be prepared to queue for this one as they have very limited seating – only about 10 tables.
Address: Beophwan-dong, Seogwipo, Jeju-do, South Korea
19. Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff
Jusangjeolli means columnar joints, a geologic structure formed by volcanic lava when Hallasan Mountain erupted years ago. Flowing into the sea of Jungman, this staggering cliff that rose 20m over water is thus created.
After the lava cooled, the rocks started to erode and they slowly shaped themselves into what you see today – squares and hexagons of different heights and sizes (similar to the Giant’s Causeway in Ireland).
Listen to the sound of the waves lapping the columns and take some time to admire the raw beauty of nature.
TIP: Allow up to 30 minutes here.
Address: 216, Jungmungwangwang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 중문관광로 216 (중문동)) Opening Hours: Sunrise to sunset Admission Fees: Adults 2,000 won Teenagers & Children - 1,000 won * Free admission for children below 6 years old, seniors ages 65 and above and people with disabilities (including 1 companion for level 1-3).
20. Cheonjeyeon Falls
Not to be mistaken for Cheonjiyeon Falls, Cheonjeyeon Falls is made out of 3 waterfalls! Set in the backdrop of lush green foliage, it is indeed a sight to behold.
To the east, water appears to fall from the ceiling of the cave, draping over a rocky cliff. The water forms a pool and from there falls twice more, creating the second and third waterfalls, before exiting into the ocean.
Legend states that the when night falls, seven nymphs from heaven will come to bathe in the waterfall’s pond thus the pond is also known as “The Pond of God”. These seven nymphs are carved on the side of the Seonimgyo Bridge, a gorgeous vibrant red bridge that certainly stands out from the rest of the forest.
This bridge connects Cheonjeyeon Falls with Jungmum Tourist Complex which has an assortment of restaurants for visitors.

22. Yongmeori Cliff/ Yongmeori Beach
Yongmeori Cliff, also known as Dragon Head Cliff, is located along the coastline of Sanbangsan. It is so named due to how it looks as if a dragon’s head is going underwater.
Formed due to several volcanic eruptions, the layers of lava has cooled to form the undulating cliff walls all around you. Yongmeori is the oldest volcanic crater in Jeju Island. The sight, with its rocks stacked on top of each other and the cliffs by the sea, make it one of Jeju’s most picturesque spots. This really reminds me of the Antelope Canyon in Arizona, doesn’t it?
Haenyeos, the women sea-divers of Jeju may also be around selling sea cucumbers along the seashore if you would like to try some fresh catch!

According to Korean myths, it is said that the peak of Mt. Hallasan where Baekrokho Lake now exists was taken off and thrown to form this mountain. How interesting is that!
‘Sanbang’, which translates into ‘cave inside a mountain’, is indeed what it is.
Here, you would find Sanbangsa Temple and the Bomunsa Temple with large Buddha statues where people do make offerings and pray for good health. Between the two temples, take a 20 minute walk along the stone steps which would lead you to the Sanbanggulsa Grotto.

Expectedly, fans from all over the world gather at this cafe. However, even if you’re not a big fan, this modern cafe with large reflective windows is the perfect spot to have a coffee and catch the sunset over the ocean. There is a rooftop so avid photographers like me can capture that perfect sunset shot!

Manjanggul Cave, whose name means “very deep,” is the longest lava cave in the world. It stretches for about 13,422m. The temperature inside the cave is around 15 degrees, and it cools to the point that air conditioning is unnecessary even during the summer, so it would be a good idea to bring along a long-sleeve jacket. Its value has been all the more recognized as it has been listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Address: 182, Manjanggul-gil, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si (+82-64-710-7903) For more info: https://bit.ly/1qtDD7d For more info about Special Tourist Zones in Korea, please visit my blog at http://www.joysofasia.com/31-special-tourist-zones-in-korea/ or check it out from KTO's official website: https://bit.ly/2IhPP8U Photo Credit: KTO Website ============== For more info and updates about Korea Tourism 🇰🇷, you may visit the VisitKorea Website: http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/ For KOREA TOURISM updates, please don't forget to follow the official SNS accounts of Korea Tourism Organization Manila Office below: KTO MLA FB: www.facebook.com/koreatourismmanila KTO Manila Twitter: https://twitter.com/KTOManila KTO FB: https://www.facebook.com/koreatourism KTO Twitter: https://twitter.com/KoreanTravel #VISITKOREA #TravelKorea #WKS2018 #Korea #Spring #Koreatour #Travel #TravelBlog #TravelBlogger #AsianTravel #Asia #backpackers #traveller #instatravel #backpacking #travelgoals #photography #wanderlust #instadaily #dailylook #instagood #igtravel #ThemePark #AmusementPark #travelbuddies #koreatravel #SpecialTouristZones #Korea #UNESCO #HeritageSite
