[saxophone-under-the-moon]

An ominous wind blew through the city as Iori walked the dimly lit streets, a cigarette dangling from his mouth. His mind was racing with a million thoughts once more as he felt a malevolent presence swirling around him. A crescent moon shone ominously in the dark night sky above, acting as a sort of harbinger of things to come.

The surly pyromancer paused as he felt Orochi's energy growing stronger in the air. His blood was starting to boil, but he knew he must not succumb to it, lest he goes on an uncontrollable rampage once more. He had learned to control the Riot to a certain extent, but even that can only last for so long. If he overexerts himself, the beast inside of him would be let loose, and there would be no telling when he would go on a violent, uncontrollable rampage.  

"Happy birthday...Master." a pair of familiar voices called out to him from the shadows. Iori whirled around, his cigarette dropping to the ground as he saw the seemingly ethereal forms of Mature and Vice manifest in front of him. It seems that they couldn’t stay dead for long, now could they?

"What do you two want from me?" Iori snapped upon seeing the two women.

"Why are you in such a bad mood tonight?" Mature cooed as she walked towards him, placing her hand under Iori's chin. "Aren't you happy to see us on your birthday?"

Iori growled as he felt Vice wrap her arms around him. As she got herself comfortable, she enjoyed his scent, and it wasn’t just the cologne he happened to be wearing this evening.

"We only decided to come see you because we remembered it was your special day today!" Vice chimed in as she gazed at Iori with a predatory look in her eyes.

The redhead bucked the two women off with a swift movement. They were flung off with a great amount of force, but that only resulted in their shared amusement.

"Is that a way to say 'thank you'? My, it seems that you're quite ungrateful tonight." Mature mocked as she got back on her feet.

"What's the matter Yagami?" Vice chuckled as a sadistic smile spread across her face. "You don't want us around anymore?"

"I'm not here to listen to your worthless drivel." Iori snarled as he readied a ball of purple fire in hand.

"Don't tell us that you've been starting to enjoy the company of the man you claim to hate!" Vice mocked, still amused by Iori's growing anger. She and her blonde partner have known the redhead long enough to know what makes him tic, so his death threats were nothing new to the pair.

"It seems that Kagura has done her best to reel you in as well," Mature added. "My, have you grown soft?"

Iori has had enough.

"Go crawl back to whatever part of Hell you came from!" He shouted as he threw a massive purple fireball at the pair, skidding rapidly across the ground to reduce them to a pile of ashes. They dodged out of the way in time, but it lead to the wall behind them exploding from the sheer impact of the flames.

"Your temper is so endearing," Mature cooed as she regained her stance. "We've always liked that about you."

That only resulted in another fireball being thrown at them, larger and more lethal than before. But before it could hit them, the two women seemed to dissipate.

“You know we'll come back for you," Vice replied. "Always."

"Farewell, Yagami." they said in unison as they vanished into the night. While he was still seething with anger, Iori won't have to deal with those two women again...for now. But, it was only a matter of time before they will return.
