Specialized hauling
A very special high and wide movement pauses in Griffith, Indiana. Couldn't have been that hot though, the crew was uptown at beans when I shot this.

Hello, happy holidaysヾ(^∇^) I apologize for this being a long question but I've been thinking for a long time and I really have to ask if you would ask the RH crew (Mars, Abel and Fleur too if that's okay) for book and/or movie recommendations, what would they give ? If it's not a spoiler, what media inspired their depiction, if any? I want to practice English so I find new things I like, and I hope my words make meaning when I use translation. Have a happy holiday (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡
Happy Holidays! This is so sweet. Good luck on your language journey.
Recommendations:
Crux Hertz - The Ritual (2017) or Bones and All (2022) (movie), Siddharta by Hermann Hesse or No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai (books)
Black Lumaban - Mad Max: Fury Road (movie), The Conquest of Bread by Peter Kropotkin (book)
Vincenzo Fontana - Possession (1981) (movie), The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde or Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (book)
Florentin Blanchett - The Substance (2024) or Dead Ringers (1988) (movie), Stiff by Mary Roach (book)
Abel Valencia - American Psycho (2000) or Wolf of Wall Street (2013), no books because he's stupid but I will give a TV show... Desperate Housewives
Inspirations:
So, the thing about this is really complicated because I'm an avid art fan and I consume all sorts of media, from books to movies to tv shows and music. Generally, I get a concept then my brain starts piecing things together. (Crux is the hardest to explain because he originally started off as the child of two of me and my husband's oldest OCs... and he became a whole separate beast on his own.)
But I can give characters that really remind me of them!
Crux - Sans (Undertale), Gojo (JJK), Loki (Marvel), Shawn Spencer (Psych) (This is the worst list of all time), also Markus (Red Embrace:Hollywood), and Lee (Bones and All). Hozier and Will Wood remind me of his aesthetic.
Black - Guts (Berserk), Lio Fotia (Promare), Fenris (Dragon Age), Warren Peace (Sky High), Bigby (Wolf Among Us), Juri (Utena). For music, grandson has his vibes.
Vincenzo - Lestat (Interview with a Vampire), Orin (Baldur's Gate 3), Gilbert (Kaze to Ki no Uta), Mahito (JJK), Alois Trancy (Black Butler), Ryo Asuka (Devilman Crybaby). His storyline was largely inspired by HP Lovecraft's Dreams of Witch House. For music, near everything by Emilie Autumn and Mindless Self Indulgence.
Abel - Ashley (The Boys), Rhys (Tales from the Borderlands), Nathan (Life is Strange). (I won't lie, a huge part of him is directly inspired to parody Right Wing pundits lolol) For music, no lie, Laufey and Lana del Rey, LMAO.
Florentin - Griffith (Berserk), Viktor Frankenstein, Dr Herbert West (Re-Animator).
~~~
For Mars:
Hello, Clovis here, creator of Mars! Thank you for the interest! Mars likes classic films with lots of sexuality and violence. Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Chicago (he loves a good musical if it isn't too sugary-sweet). He'll go for the stereotypical Dad Movies too as long as he thinks they're suave enough, like James Bond and Indiana Jones. For books, he reads a lot more than you'd think and enjoys being well-read, but let's say A Song of Ice and Fire, because there's political drama and everyone's suffering. (Their misfortune and crushed innocence amuses him.)
Mars is inspired heavily from the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood depiction of Greed. While not a direct inspiration (I've had the character for years), Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen is hilariously similar to him. Vintage mafia movies are where a lot of his aesthetic comes from. If you like crime thrillers, I would highly recommend the television show Fargo for bastard men that you love to hate, are scary as hell, and are darkly comedic. — Clovis @VileFable
So the Republicans are trying to shut down the government to damage their own states so that they make the Democrats look bad before the election… Is that the game plan they’re going with?
Here is the full list of Republicans who voted against the stopgap bill to prevent a government shutdown in September 2024:
Indiana: James R. Baird, Jim Banks, Rudy Yakym III, Victoria Spartz
Why is this important to me? I would have been out of a job. Government contractors would rather cut you and rehire you for less pay or benefits. Also, if I miss 1 or 2 paychecks I will be homeless.
Beale to New York. On short notice, we took off in the 979 and headed for Griffith Air Force Base with one in-flight refueling over Nevada as we had it east at Mach 3 80,000 feet. Our route took us south of Chicago and north of Indianapolis, passing south of Chicago. I said to Gary, I can see the lights of Chicago out the left window. The lights of Indianapolis on the right were so clear that we must have been creating quite a sonic boom that was touching the ground and disturbing many people.
However, it turned out to be worse than I thought, as indicated by the articles that appeared in the newspaper on October 12, 1973, when the shockwave stretched from Indiana to New York State; Jim says he laughed at the media quotes when Dr. Alexander a Penn State expert said it’s conceivable.
It could’ve been a meteorite entering the Earth's atmosphere. ☄️☄️☄️
Do you think that we were going to tell the world that they were wrong that it was really an SR 71 going to Griffith Air Force Base.😁?
At Beale there was an office that handled sonic boom complaints on a full-time basis. The office receive boom complaints from everyone and anyone farmers claimed that their cows would not give milk anymore. Chickens wouldn’t lay eggs
I was happy to spend time with Jim and his wife two weeks ago. I asked him for some more of his stories. Hopefully, I’ll get another email soon 😊
Petition for divorce for Henry B. Walthall, "Little Colonel" of the movies, from his wife was on file here today. The charge is desertion. Walthall is understood to be in Los Angeles. Papers were filed by his attorney.
-"'Little Colonel' of Movies Asks Divorce From Wife," Eugene Register-Guard, September 11, 1918
Tumblr media
Less than two minutes after he entered the courtroom yesterday Henry B. Walthall, moving picture actor, was granted a divorce from Mrs. Isabelle Harrington Walthall in the circuit court. Walthall charged his wife with desertion, stating she left him March 18, 1916. Mrs. Walthall is said to be living in New Jersey.
-"Divorce for Henry Walthall," Warsaw Daily Times, November 16, 1918
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Henry Walthall married Miss Mary Charleston five days after he had been granted a divorce from Mrs. Isabelle Harrington in 1918. They were married at Crown Point. Judge H.H. Loring, Valparaiso, Ind., pronounced Walthall's second marriage illegal.
-"Three Movie Weddings Probed; Search For Bride Is Recalled.," St. Petersburg Times, May 26, 1922
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He married his leading woman, Mary Charleston, in Indiana, ten days after he was divorced from Irene Fenton. He says:
"There are absolutely no grounds for investigation into my second marriage. I married my first wife, Isabelle Fenton, fifteen years ago. We couldn't get along, and separated. I obtained a divorce at Chicago five years ago. I was given a final decree with the provision that I would not marry again in that state. The Indiana judiciary decided that my second marriage is entirely legal."
-"The Love Troubles of a Perfect Lover," The Norwalk Hour, July 10, 1922
※ Here's Walthall lied that he had a divorce from his wife Isabelle Fenton 5 years ago but actually it was 4 years ago. It seems like he was trying to deceive his daughter's age.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marguerite Clark, once as noted in the film world as Mary Pickford, and Mary Charleston, star of the old Vitagraph company, now are happily married. The former is the wife of Harry Williams of New Orleans, and the latter married Henry B. Walthall, the actor.
"I have found more happiness in my home than I ever could have found in the vain glory of seeking personal fame," says Mrs. Walthall.
-"Many Stars, Once Famous, Now Are In Poverty And Obscurity," The Southeast Missourian, September 15, 1925
Henry Walthall's daughter Mary Patricia was born on her father's 40 year old birthday. (March 16, 1918) But the baby's mother wasn't Walthall's wife. Her mother was Mary Charleson.
When Henry Walthall divorced his wife Isabelle Fenton in Chicago, he received an order from the judge prohibiting him from remarrying within the state for one year. So he went to Indiana and remarried Mary Charleson in November 20, 1918. It was five to ten days after divorcing his wife, Isabelle Fenton.
In other words, Henry Walthall already had an illegitimate child. That was a reason why Walthall had to divorce Isabelle Fenton and why he had to remarry Mary Charleson so quickly after the divorce.
The sad thing is some Democrats are taking part in small parts of it.
youtube
The House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that would empower the Treasury Department to revoke the tax-exempt status of any nonprofit it deems has provided material support to a terrorist organization. A broad coalition of civil society groups have opposed the bill, warning that it would give the Trump administration sweeping powers to crack down on political opponents. H.R. 9495, the Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act, passed the House 219 to 184 largely along party lines, with 15 Democrats supporting the Republican majority. "This bill is essentially a civil rights disaster," says Darryl Li, an anthropologist, lawyer and legal scholar teaching at the University of Chicago. Li, who recently wrote a briefing paper on the anti-Palestinian origins of U.S. terrorism law, says "anti-Palestinian racism is one of the great bipartisan unifiers in Congress." - @DemocracyNow
