There's this story from when Jason was Robin, where Bruce is able to fight off Scarecrow's fear drug by imagining a worst fear: Jason dying.
And there's also this story (way more recent) where Bruce, under Scarecrow's fear toxin, is stuck in purgatory having to watch Jason being killed again and being unable to save him again. (Btw, this is an one-shot and we don't know when it happens, except that this is after Jason died, so don't go "see, B loves Jason's corpse more than Jason")
And I'm sure there are more examples.
All of this to say that I headcanon that Bruce, under fear toxin, always sees his kids getting hurt and finds himself unable to save/protect them. And after Jason's death, it wasn't simply just his kids getting hurt, it was them dying. Often, it's Jason again. Jason, that he failed to protect and keep safe. Jason, that he keeps seeing dying, again, and again, and again, and again...
However, his kids do not know that and think he sees his parents' death, which is the lie he told them. Because you are not going to tell a small child, that depends on you, that you just had visions of them getting extremely hurt and were unable to protect them. Nope, not putting that thought into their head, they need to feel safe. And his kids, they often share this pain and fear of losing a parent, so it helps with their feelings to have an strong adult being like "see, I also go through the same thing. It's normal." And as they grow older, he still doesn't tell them.

Ancient Greeks: Women must be entirely submissive to their husbands and all maidens should be notable for their purity and propriety. The slightest misstep can cause enormous shame to them and their family so they should be confined and monitored at all times and there must never be even the slightest suspicion questioning their honour otherwise woe to us
Also Ancient Greeks: Send my beautiful young daughters and all servant maidens to offer wine and wash the hair and the naked body of this stranger who just appeared at my threshold and I don’t even know his name yet

Canto VII/Season 5 Abnormality Speculation
Ok, so each abnormality that is either part of a sinner's dungeon or their season pass egos (In the case of Heathcliff) usually has some connection/symbolism for them ala each of the ego used during Realizations in Library having some symbolism towards the emotions/memories displayed within. Since we have a pretty damn big list of mirror dungeon abnormalities and they seem to primarily draw on those for new bosses as opposed to making new ones, I'ma speculate on some options for things we'll face in Don's personal dungeon.
Pagoda Veneration
This one is pretty self explanatory. It's focused around wishes and the granting/destruction of them, which fits Don's character to a tee to the point she already has an EGO for it.
Rose Hunter
So, this abnormality is effectively a rogue hunter that seeks to bring Snow White's Apple (Or Ebony Apple, possibly both) back to fulfill the role they had in the original tale. Effectively, cutting their dreams short to drag them back to their original fate, which could possibly be the problem Don faces in her Canto or faced in her own past. It would effectively represent reality trying to drag her back down.
Sleepyhead
This one mainly correlates to Don's fascination and association with toys, along with it giving a lust gift which matches the Sin of Don's base ego. It also has a blood motif in that you need to offer it blood to get its head to raise back up to give you the gift, which also matches with Don's base ego translating to "Blood of Sancho".
Tomorrow's Expression
Tomorrow's Expression is an Aberration of Today's Shy Look, which in Library stood-in for Angela's having to mask her true desires to reach out to the others in order to fulfill the Seed of Light plan. Tomorrow's Expression is effectively Shy Look's opposite, being something that asks how it should express itself as opposed to something that wanted to find a way to express its own emotions. This can correlate to the possible origins of Don and her worldview, and the original story of Don Quixote and how people tried to cruelly snap Don out of his delusions.
#I'll probably make a follow up to this when the fourth Mirror Dungeon comes out and probably contains VII's actual abnos#but I wanted to get this out of the way because it's fun to speculate#BTW if you're wondering about any other sinners I don't have much but I can guarantee you one thing#Those hospital-themed abnormalities with greek mythology names are definitely showing up in Outis' canto#they match so fucking perfectly#anyways ramble over#Limbus Company#Don Quixote LCB

the choice of ai’s name is really so genius not only because of the ‘eye’ pun and her character arc being centered around love / how idols embody love, but also because she’s literally the vessel for every single one of aqua’s loves…. like she’s his mother but also his first love and also a stand-in for the (presumably) parental love he felt for sarina….. ai is love. his love. all these different loves melting together. idk but i’m obsessed with them and whatever freaky soul connection they have
#they’re so greek tragedy coded#aaaaaaa i need to read the manga 😔😔#i can’t analyze their characters properly otherwise sobs…#but this is . my take. as an anime only <33#it blew my mind when i watched the first ep with my bestie and she was like . i wonder if aqua views ai as his daughter#LIKE???????????#oughhhhhh sorry i can’t be normal abt gorou/aqua and his fixation on ai because it’s so???????????????#it always . comes back. to sarina and him#like that’s the Core of the story#the core of a manga about the darkness of the entertainment industry is a hospital bed where a dying girl watches an idol sing on stage#THAT’S SO .#sorry. i’m still sick so i feel especially insane#ari noises ✩

Since Sprina have now had sex, doesn’t this correlate with your mother daughter mythology theory?
Oh wow, anon, I actually had to go back and read what I wrote because it feels like the Persephone/Demeter theory was so long ago lol. Thanks for remembering it!
I would definitely say, in spite of the bizarre turns in the story over the summer, Trina still has a Persephone quality to her in this story. And following that train of thought, you could definitely say the whole NYC trip is a pomegranate moment. The whole trip (which Trina doesn't really discuss with her mother) is Trina and Spencer basically solidifying their union, which had become tenuous again back in PC.
And unlike in Greenland, where Spencer just wasn't in control enough to be credibly viewed as a Hades figure, Spencer was basically luring Trina to go on this trip from the moment he proposes it. He's giving her a necklace as a "permanent" reminder of it. They're being plainspoken about how they feel about each other, and they're also both toasting to the idea of them being an "us." Trina's coming back from this trip, fully aware that she's in love with Spencer and confident and settled in that reality with all its potential complications. That's not Portia's little girl anymore.
What's interesting on the Portia end is that she's presenting herself as giving up on the idea of persuading Trina away from Spencer. But then she's investing in this bond with the girl who harmed her daughter. And she's choosing that over worrying about her connection with Trina. I don't know if that can even still be called a Demeter-like wrath.
Demeter's motivation was always to reunite with her daughter, Portia's seems to increasingly be more about control. Portia also has a track record of punishing the people in her life who disappoint her (Taggert - affair, Curtis - hiding Trina) and now I'm wondering if they're setting her up to do the same to Trina.
But in general, Trina is still in this Persephone cycle, because when her union with Spencer strengthens, her bond with her mother weakens. In the same way that Persephone can't share a space with these two people that she loves at the same time, Portia is putting Trina in a similar position.
#trina robinson#general hospital#thanks for the q anon 😁#spencer cassadine#portia robinson#agenda almost derailed the greek myth of it all but the tempts brought it back a bit 👀#but the portia/esme stuff skeeves me out so bad#that takes it to a mother betraying daughter direction that doesn't really fit demeter/persephone

Summer Opening '24 | 24.05.2024
"The most beautiful routes and the most beautiful journeys, are the ones we took to meet hugs" George Seferis
From the 24th of May, we will be waiting for you to meet our hugs again.
During this summer, with one hug less. But another hug, mine, will be even bigger this summer, to welcome you all.
We won't do it because it will be easy. We will do it because connections make everything brighter.
We will be waiting for you, for a very bright summer.
So that the reason for everything takes root again in our depths. So that we can all be reunited.
We will do it because whatever the reason, longing is always summer...
