In the house of Bishop Gothington there was something to celebrate.

On the one hand, Danielle has moved back in with her father after all these years. Bishop was overjoyed.

On the other hand, Danielle's affair with John Black bore fruit. She was pregnant by the sage of mischievous magic and with this child her bloodline became stronger and more powerful.

Which was a reason for hope in view of the danger posed by the vampires. The magicians did not start this war, but they will end it and they will prevail.

Everyone was surprised that Clementine came with Kolamano. Even a blind person could see that he was only a shadow of his former self.

Danielle shuddered. The sight of him touched her heart. What this monster had done to him was abominable and could not go unpunished.

Benjamin abruptly pulled Danielle out of her dark thoughts. "Danielle, come sit with me."

Danielle smiled at her grandfather. "Certainly. I need to talk to you."

He looked at her with that knowing gaze.

Danielle: "Grandpa, you remember our conversation on my birthday."

Benjamin: "It's been a few months, but yes, I remember."

Danielle: "After the recent attacks, the sage of mischievous magic and I have done a lot of research."

Benjamin: "John Black?!"

Danielle: "Yes, exactly. You know him, don't you?"

Benjamin nodded. The family was known for its hunger for power and influence. Until now, he had always avoided the Blacks' relatives. "I know the Black family. They are very... um... traditional. Conservative is probably the right word."

Danielle: ""Then you will be pleased that I have taken your advice to heart. John and I have become closer and now I am pregnant."

Benjamin froze for a brief moment. Thought. Wasn't that exactly what he wanted? To be honest, he wasn't sure about that anymore. "These are wonderful news."

She breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, it is. I invited him as well."

Benjamin visibly swallowed. A Black at a Gothington family party! Why did this thought give him a stomachache?

However, he didn't have much time to think about it, because in the next moment John Black arrived.

After dinner, the family spread out in the house.

Kolamano was left alone at the table.

Danielle: "John, I don't think a better opportunity will come."

John: "I agree with you."

They sat down next to him.

John: "Hello, old friend."

Kolamano looked at the two of them in shock and suspicion, but said nothing.

Danielle and John exchanged meaningful glances.

Danielle: "We wanted to keep you company."

John: "Yes. We are very glad that you are back."

Kolamano murmured, his hands trembling. "They are all happy. All. I returned. Who am I? All, all."

John whispered in Danielle's ear. "He has actually lost his mind. Oh Watcher."

Danielle: "Aunt Clementine said he already has bright moments. But maybe he overextended himself with the party."

John nodded and looked over his shoulder to see if they had any listeners. "Kolamano, old friend." He laid his hand on his shoulder. "I have to ask you a question. The answer is very important. Do you understand?"

Kolamano closed his eyes and tried to concentrate: "Elorana Straud de Sade. Marquis Straud de Sade." He opened his eyes and began to bob back and forth. "The abysmal evil in the darkness."

John patted him on the shoulder in praise. "Thank you."

Danielle: "Well, as we had suspected."

John growled in agreement.

Danielle: "And now? How do we proceed?"

John grinned at Danielle. "First we strengthen our position and then we destroy the creatures."

Oh the little interlude of this month for vanitas is so perfectly put! What our charas wear is important! It was chosen bc it was what they wanted to show the world, one specific image. Like dominique going, look his vibe is completely different! At vanitas. Bc he doesn't look like he's imitating Luna. And she herself going, with this dress I don't look like a de sade at all! (given how terrible the rest of her family is it has to be an interesting feel).

Also interestingly Vanitas cape and gloves were from a special batch of clothes from Luna misterious dangerous friend. Which I'm increasingly sure is Saint Germain "aka evil grandpa/teacher".

Amelia given a bit of spotlight! Showing us what a different social status Domi has! Amelia is a maid! A normal country gal! (Also, Domi will be extremely beautiful to all women lol).

And that end with Vanitas sitting to rest a bit on Noé's bed.... Oh, Vani.

so i was just listening to bloodline / difficult things by orla gartland and GUYS.

as veronica says to dominique when she’s young, domi’s considered a disappointment to the whole family. she doesn’t fit into the de sade lineage, and we don’t even see their parents at any point—only their grandfather. that’s how much they aren’t present in her life. domi isn’t really connected to anyone in her family, especially not her grandpa.

but who else is? noé.

noé takes her place as another heir to the de sades, especially as the faithful pupil of the comte de saint germain. dominique is such a failure that they’d rather take in a random orphan as a family successor than her. on top of that, she can’t help but watch as her best friend gets puppetted around by her manipulative grandfather, essentially taking her place as the perfect pawn.

Young Ian sat next to Gav, helping him dig in the dirt.  He liked to garden.  He liked…a lot of things the other boys in his preschool didn't.  And they noticed.  He was different.  He'd been adopted - his dads had explained that to him.  He spent a lot of time with his granddads.  Some of his classmates lived with their grandparents.  Some never saw them at all.

A lot of his classmates did nothing but watch videos on their tablets.  They seemed to speak in their own code.  He spent a lot of time playing alone.  Or reading.  He was the only one in the class reading, and he was on easy chapter books now.

Sometimes he felt like a freak.

His grandpa Kazuo came outside, Martha slowly walking behind him before flopping on the ground with a sigh.  “How's plants?” “Good.  Glad I can keep these alive.” Kazuo settled in on young Ian's other side, “You okay?” “Um…” “School?” “How can you tell?” “I had a bad time at school, and your dad liked to get into fights to defend our honor.  Also, I'm perceptive.”

“Oh.  Uh.  It's…”

Kazuo leaned back on his hand, “Maybe we can help you out.” The boy stared at the dirt.  He'd also heard his classmates make fun of his family.  He knew they were different, but that wasn't bad.  They made fun of his dad Dermot for being fat, they made fun of Kazuo for his scars…

The boy's shoulders slumped, “The other kids don't like me.  I'm not like them.” “Well, everyone's different…” “Yeah, Gav, we know.  You should be happy to not be like all those sticky-fingered booger eaters.” Young Ian giggled at that, “They only play things based on things they watch.” “You can't get anyone to play dinosaurs?” Gav winced as he hit a rock.

“They don't even know the names!” “Buncha scrubs,” Kazuo overbalanced himself and fell over, staring up at the unseasonably warm February sun.  Martha snuffled over, nose guiding her more than her failing vision, settling in behind Gav.  “What about reading?” Gav carefully shooed a spider away from the hole he was digging.

“I'm the only reader in the class.  I like the Magic Tree House books.” “We need another run to Half Price Books,” Kazuo plucked a long blade of grass, popping it into his mouth. “Ooh, yeah!  My dads say we're being overrun with books, though.” “No such thing as too many books, coming from someone who was not encouraged to read.” “I had access to whatever I wanted to read…libraries were in from the cold, and away from my dad.  Maybe shouldn't have been reading stuff by the Marquis de Sade in elementary, but y'know…”

Young Ian sighed, digging in the dirt with hid finger, “The other kids make fun of me…” “About what?” Kazuo struggled to sit up, giving up and splaying out.  “They call dad Dermot fat…” “I've seen some of these kids’ parents at pickup.  They're just mad they don't have a fabulous drag queen dad.” “He's reading at the library this weekend!” “See?” Gav plopped a plant into the hole, “He's kind and smart, doing something nice for the kids.  An upstanding citizen.”

“Huh…yeah…they…they also make fun of you, grandpa Kazuo.” Kazuo rolled over, “Yeah, that doesn't really bother me anymore.  I've heard every jab and insult since I was a kid.  I'm a stinky, one-eyed, one-armed, one-legged weirdo, that's me.  I'm comfortable with that.” “I wish I didn't get bothered by name-calling,” the boy drew up his knees. 

“What do they call you?” Gav's voice was soft, though he expected the usual kid insults.  “They…” Young Ian swallowed hard, “They call me the…” His voice dropped to a whisper, “The faggot kid.” Kazuo and Gav immediately stiffened, not expecting that.  “It's a bad word…right?” “When used in hate, yes,” Kazuo sighed, “And that is hateful.” “I don't know if it's because of you guys and my dads, or because of how I act.” 

“Hard to say,” Gav bit his lip, “There's nothing wrong with you, or with this family.” “Yeah, we're a loving, stable family.  And you…” Gav ruffled his hair, “You're a smart, kind, gentle kid.” “I don't know why that makes them not like me,” the boy wiped his eyes.  “Some kids just aren't there yet.  You being this way means you're on a good path.”

“Hey,” Kazuo struggled into a sitting position, “You know who was a kind, gentle person his whole life?” “Who?” “Your grandpa Ian.” “Hey, yeah…” “He was so sweet.  You've got a good heart, just like him,” Gav smiled.  “You're gonna need that if you want to be a lawyer like he was.” “Yeah! I want to make him proud.” “Oh, he's proud,” Kazuo grinned, “He knows you're gonna do great things.” “I hope to.”

Gav stretched, “Hey, you up for Quack's before your dads come over?” “Yeah!” “Heh,” Kazuo rolled to his feet, “Don't let ‘em know we're spoiling your dinner,” he stood, pitching forward and nearly falling.  “Thank you,” young Ian said softly, “You guys made me feel a lot better.” “You're a good kid.  Things get better.  You have us to back you up.” “Martha!” The boy knelt down, “You coming?” She shut her eyes, tail thumping.

“We'll bring the old lady a vanilla cupcake,” Gav scratched her ear nubs.  “You feeling better?” Kazuo asked.  “Yeah, a lot!” And he really did feel better.  He glanced back towards the house, pausing.  His grandpa Ian stood at the back door.  He waved, before disappearing into the house.

“I'll make you proud,”  he said quietly, turning to take his grandfathers’ hands.  He'd had a needed confidence boost.  He was on the path to becoming a fine, young man -

A man to be proud of.

i feel like i need to clarify, being a niche seller is rough right now. like grandpa doesn't want a fucking jawbone necklace. it's more of a comical thing that the entire year i've been doing great, far much better than any other year as a seller, but ooooof around november/december because of being so niche

Name Analysis of The House of de Sade

Excuse my crappy header photo edit of the real Marquis de Sade and VnC’s de Sade family.

I’ve got a few drafts up in the works of the other character’s birth flowers, but I’ve realized the articles were illegally long for reading, mostly because the reasoning behind my interpretations took up more content space than the actual flower analysis of the character’s birth flower. I’ve decided to write a couple articles of character analysis that would best supplement my birth flower interpretations in the meantime for easy reading, and for something in keep in mind about.

Cursed Twins (PH/VnC)

Funny thing, when I read both Pandora Hearts and Vanitas no Carte Dominique and Louis make me remember of Oswald and Lacie. And Not only because they look alike.

Also don’t say that Domi doesn’t look like Alice/Lacie or that Louis doesn’t look a little like Oswald

Twins

PH: Considering their age, Lacie and Oswald must have been twins

VNC: Louis and Domi are twins, like it's said by Veronica.

Twins of misfortune. 

VNC: For vampires twins are bad omens. So so Louis has been exiled far away of his family.

PH: Oswald and Lacie must have been too, because of Lacie's statue of child of misfortune.

The Cursed one

PH: Lacie

VNC: Louis

The shady adult

PH: Oswald and Lacie have been raised by a shady guy, Levi. (don't say that he was not shady XD)

VNC: Louis was raised by a shady guy, his own grandfather, who has also took care of Domi when she came.

Experiment

PH: Levi has done a experiment of Lacie, his "kinda" adopted daugther.

VNC: Grandpa De Sade has probably be the one to give his curse to Louis, since Louis has been exiled because he was Domi's twin, not because he was "sick".

Knowledge of fate 

PH: Lacie knew that she was going to die. Who was going to kill her and how she was going to die. And when it was going to happen.

VNC: Louis knew that he was going to die, and what was going to kill him, but he doesn’t know when.

Knowledge of fate II

PH: Oswald knew that Lacie was going to die, and he knows when and how. And he suffered of this thought + the guilt that it was his fault.

VNC: Dominique never guessed that Louis was going to die.

No choice.

PH: Lacie died because she had not the choice. She didn't want to die but nobody left her the choice. (Oswald admits that he thought to let her run away with Jack but he has not did it)

VNC: Louis was condamned, but he chooses to give himself freely to Charlatan for save his loved ones. He didn't want to die and was terrified of it.

Friend

PH: Oswald and Lacie becomes friends with Jack when they were adults. They spent few weeks (months?) together.

VNC:  Louis and Domi become friend with Noe when they were children. Louis and Noe grow up together while Domi visiting them time by time.

Bonus: Bad past for the third guy

PH: Jack had clearly had a horrible past/childhood. Meeting Lacie saved him but also cursed him. Maybe because it was already too late and maybe because she has left him too quickly?

VNC: Until he’s buy by Grandpa de Sade, Noe has not been super happy, he doesn’t remember his blood family, the couple who has adopted him died too soon and he has been sold as slave. Meeting Louis and Domi saved him for sadness and loneliness. It’s thank to them that he has had a happy childhood until "THAT" day.

PH: Lacie <=> Jack <= Oswald  (Jack seemed to like Oswald too)

VNC: Louis< => Noe  <= Domi  (Noe was not aware of her feelings and still not, even if he liked her a lot)

PH: Lacie seemed to have some feelings for Jack at the end.

VNC: Louis and Noe adored each other. Maybe it was deeper than friendship between them but they have never had the opportunity to learn it.

PH: Lacie adored Oswald even if they fight sometimes (she had reason to be angered by him I guess) and Oswald loved her deeply. Killing her has destoryed him. She was the cursed child form her birth.

VNC: Domi innocently said that she was jealous of Louis, without knowing the truth. When he was condamned to die and that he couldn't tell her. He never blamed her for his fate. When their place could have been reversed easly. She has been choose by their family, but it could have been him. And then she would have been at his place as ther cursed kid. Louis has been condamned to be the “cursed” child at the exact moment where his father chooses Domi over him.

Telling the truth

PH: Louis wanted to tell Noe the truth about his fate. But he has never had the possibility.

VNC: Lacie chooses to not tell Jack  (oswald chooses it too)

One of the twin die

PH: Lacie dies by the hand of her brother.

VNC: Louis is killed by his own grandfather, in front of his twin and his best friend.

And the friend?

PH: Jack has never seen Lacie dies.

VNC: Noe has seen Louis die and is still traumatized, years later.

Twin’s Guilt

PH: Oswald is broken by guilt.

VNC: Domi has the survivor's guilt, convinced that Noe would have rather have Louis than her. 

Healing for the survivors

PH: Neither Oswald or Jack have healed from this loss. Jack is even become crazier.

VNC: Domi and Noe are still traumatized, but in, different ways. Domi has a very low self-esteem and Noe thought very often to Louis, dreams of him, and become berserk every time he sees Charlatan/Nennia, that he sees as the culprit.

PH: Jack never blamed Oswald for Lacie's death (maybe because he separes Oswald and Glen in two differentes persons in his mind?). 

VNC: Noé and Domi never blamed Grandpa de Sade: They blamed Charlatan.

The two survivors

PH: Jack loved Oswald, maybe in a more genuine and healthy way that he did for Lacie but was never able to realize his real feelings, unable to difference them from his false feelings.

VNC: Noe sees Dominique like his precious friend, likes her deeply, sees her as her best friend and a confient. And he becomes berserk when she is in danger. He’s not aware that she loves him or that she suffers of low self-esteem but she is his best friend and he’s ready to everything for protect her.

After the death

PH: Jack has tried to destroy the world to bring it to Lacie ///// Oswald will try to go in the past for kill Lacie when she was a kid, before they become baskerville//becfore she meets Jack. 

VNC: Noe lives for Louis, even if he misses him, and will protect what Louis loved with his everything he has. Also he wants to avenge him ///// Domi tried to act like her brother during some times and she still very often imagine Louis alive, today, with Noe, like if it was the best world to imagine for Noe. Like if she WAS the one who should have died. Which is very concerning.

Family and Clan

PH: Nobody in the Baskerville clan seemed to realize Oswald's suffering. (Jack didn't seem to realize it neither but seen his mental health, it's not surprising)

VNC: Nobody care about Domi's suffering in De Sade family. and she sees have not a lot of friends excepty Jeanne and Noe (and maybe Marquis Machina  and Lucas).

Curse

PH: We know why Lacie was “cursed” and it was not really a curse at the end.

VNC:  We know that Louis wasn’t cursed from birth, since his family get ride of him because he was Domi’s twin, not because he was sick. He was already cursed when he met Noe, he has been cursed for YEARS, suffering in silence without any help. He lets the curse finally win when he realize that the two persons that he loves the most are in danger.

At the end

PH: The three are dead, with no chance to go in the reincarnation cycle. 

VNC: Noe will survive, since he’s the one to tell this story. We can’t know for Domi for now.

Vanitas Theory

Yall, so I concocted this big theory while I was at work. Ok so we know from the stories that Vanitas was casted out into the forest by the crimson eyed vampires, right? And Teacher lived in a forest with Noe and Louis. This may sound cliche, but I theorize that Teacher and Vanitas of the Blue Moon had a relationship. He met her in that forest. Something happen (this may hint towards a romance), and he settled there hoping to see her again one day. I think that may be why he took in Noe as he is an Archviste just like how many of us speculate Vampire Vanitas is as well because of her skin and hair color. Remember how Teacher smiled because Noe said the blue full moon was beautiful despite many other vampires viewing it as an ill omen.

This could be because Teacher viewed Vampire Vanitas to be beautiful as well. What if the reason Teacher sent Noe to find out the character of the Book of Vanitas for himself was just because he wanted Noe to meet Vampire Vanitas without knowing she had already died. The reason could be because they are of the Archviste Clan or..........

(This leads into my other theory) Notice how Noe is generally associated with the color purple.

(I think his eyes are purple when they’re aren’t red if that happens in this story). Well red and blue make purple! Bro. Idk how far-fetched this theory sounds, but what if Noe was Teacher and Vampire Vanitas’ child? You know what. Noe doesn’t even have to be Teacher’s child. He could just be Vampire Vanitas’ child.

The reason why I think Vampire Vanitas and Teacher had a connection is because they are portrayed very similar in this story. Vampire Vanitas and Teacher are very powerful vampires whose faces have yet to be shown. Both researched cursed-bearers. Both took in children. Both read them stories.

And Vanitas seemed to know about the origin of Babel. So either Vampire Vanitas is old enough to know it or she was taught the history.

Now Ik we have to take into consideration how Noe ended up to be at his grandparents place. So what if Noe’s memories got erased by Vampire Vanitas because the child was literally wondering around with no knowledge of his parents. No clue about his past or at least we weren’t told. And the reason for that was because Vampire Vanitas did not want Noe to be casted out or be in danger like her. Notice how Vampire Vanitas and Noe being left alone in the snow correlates to their known beginnings.

Who is Lou? Could Lou possibly be Vampire Vanitas’ real name and that was who Louis was named after? Vanitas did say he never actually hated “Lou” and the person he continually says he hates is Vampire Vanitas. He most likely feels guilty for her death and is doing what she wanted to do.

And based on this theory of Teacher wanting Vampire Vanitas, I believe the reason he kept Louis is because he was hoping that Vampire Vanitas would come and save him. In return, meet her again. Vampire Vanitas has been shown as nothing but a decent person through all her flashbacks, so she most likely did want to save other people.

This is all based on my assumptions so don’t take it too seriously.
