Talking about Journal 3 here. And Journal 3 only.
Some people considered it ungrateful behavior, but I always thought it was cute how Ford reacts to the two gifts Fiddleford gives to him.
Fiddleford presents him with one of his laptops, Ford acknowledges the extra effort Fiddleford put into it to make it accessible for his extra fingers, but is honest in his (written) opinion that he won't have any need for it because he already has his journals.
While we don't actually know how he reacted to Fiddleford directly, I think this reaction in the journal reads pretty autistic in a way. Societal convention to receiving a gift is to be happy about it, and if you aren't happy about it, you should fake like you're happy about it. But the reality is Ford's been given something he didn't ask for, something he doesn't really know how to use, something that's both bulkier and more delicate than his journal- which is the only thing he can really can really picture himself using the laptop for. Should he really have to use it just because Fiddleford made it for him? He considers the modifications for his fingers notable enough to include in his journal (and he considered the computer notable enough to draw), so I think it's safe to say he appreciates it. He's just not going to use it or pretend to use it.
"Why should I have to use a gift that I didn't want/request and is cumbersome to me?" Breaks a lot of social norms and can come across as rude, but really there's a logic to the reaction.
Then we get to the Squash with Human Face and Emotions. Fiddleford gives Ford an ugly gourd and claims it looks like him. Ford starts off his journal entry by saying he "appreciates the sentiment" before talking about how unnerved he is by it. This time he even admits to trying to keep it and putting it on a shelf in the lab out of politeness, despite how much he dislikes it initially. He does eventually decide on throwing it out after becoming even further disconcerted by it, but it's nice he tried. Again, this is something that got a whole journal page (+ a drawing of it - This thing that freaked him out so bad he started hearing things, forever immortalized in his journal).
He's not mean to Fiddleford about either of these things. He even tried in the 2nd case to appeal to social niceties at first. It's not that he doesn't appreciate the thought of his friend wanting to give him gifts, it's just they are cumbersome to him, and he doesn't force himself to utilize them. Is that a bad thing? I don't really think so.
#like... imagine you hate sugar cookies#and your friend goes out and gets you a sugar cookie with your name written on it#are you gonna force yourself to eat it?#is someone else a jerk if they dont force themselves to eat it?#i say no to both these things lol

Cosmic Imitation
Bending over, he cried, "Grow!" and at once grew to be ten thousand feet tall, with a head like the Tai Mountain and a chest like a rugged peak, eyes like lightning and a mouth like a blood bowl, and teeth like swords and halberds. The rod in his hands was of such a size that its top reached the thirty-third Heaven and its bottom the eighteenth layer of Hell.
for the DTIYS by @lavaflowe!! it was such an awesome concept, I just had to get a bit daring with the perspective :D had to get some photobashing going close to the end though but it worked out well!
rambles about the artistic choices under read more <3
I exchanged the skullcap bowl for a gourd, since Wukong is often represented in religious statues as holding one or an immortal peach. The headdress was inspired by Beijing opera, but the mirror was borrowed from Lion Dance costumes. The mirror on their heads is meant to repel bad energies. The tiger pelt kilt is a classic of course, and a symbol of a protective deity. The long draping tail and staff supporting the heaven was my way of giving an awing sense of scale and of his reach. The symbols in the sky is the Chinese star map. And it's hard to tell, but the mountains in the distance are the other three Continents in the JTTW cosmology.

Black Myth: Wukong OC Character Sheet
Stole this idea from @s0rr3l who put out THE MOST FUN AND CHARMING CHARACTER SHEET go check it out and give it a like and most importantly REBLOG
Name: ??? Nickname: "Oz" (奥兹, Àozī) Epiphet: Gourd girl; Travel Companion; The Bloodstained Constellation Age: mid-late 20s Height: 162cm / 5"3 ft
✦ Story ✦
An average (?) woman, who upon inheriting her great-grandfather's house, finds an ancient-looking pocket mirror in the attic. As it turns out, the pocket mirror is a gateway between two realms.
Upon being transported into another realm, she meets Yuan Shoucheng, who has foreseen her arrival centuries ago. The pocket mirror sports few cracks now and is not usable until it is fixed.
Oz also gets a crash course into her family history - she is a direct descendant of an immortal that served the Celestial Court as a [Bloodbender]. Her ancestor escaped her clan's massacre by using the pocket mirror to escape into another realm. As it turns out, Oz may have inherited more than just the unusual eyes and hair color from her ancestor.
In this world, there is no such thing as coincidences. Every event has been foretold in the stars. Fate and destinies have a funny way to catch up to you, and for Oz, it is time to fulfill a long-forgotten promise...
Oz is available as a permanent companion upon meeting Yuan Shoucheng on the Black Wind Mountain.
After Oz joins, her personal side quest << I Take the Long Way Home >> automatically unlocks. Several other hidden quests can be unlocked after meeting certain requirements.
✦ Skills, Stats and Abilities ✦
As you travel through the different lands, with each new chapter and optional side-quests completed, Oz stats can be upgraded, and new abilities can be unlocked. Oz acts as a support role in the Destined One's journey. Completing secret-quests and uncovering Oz's family history, it may unlock special abilities for the travel companion.
Role Being the Destined One's travel companion, Oz is in charge of documenting their journey and on gourd duty. This includes, but is not limited to:
Gourd refilling duty
Retrieving wills and yaoguai spirits
Testing brews and soaks [unlocks in upon rescuing Shen Monkey on Black Wind Mountain]
Foraging and gathering ingredients for pill making [unlocks upon meeting Xu Dog in Yellow Wind Ridge]
Gathering seeds and foraging [unlocks upon meeting Chen Loong in the New West]
Abilities
Strength (9) [ We're Getting Stronger Now ] Coming from a world where combat skills are not needed in order to survive, the Travel Companion would not last long in combat against enemies. Do not stray too far away from the Destined One. While climbing up high walls is not much of a challenge for Oz, she would not last long in a battle.
Dexterity (14) [ I'm Still On That Tightrope ] Well poised and balanced and crafty with her hands, the Travel Companion does not have much difficulty traversing through difficult terrains. Has a good aim at hitting stationary targets upon successfully sneaking up on enemies. Has a 30% chance of hitting moving targets too
Constituion (15) [ Drank My Poison All Alone ] [Bloodborne] Inherited abilities from her ancestor, the Travel Companion has immunity against most poison. Poison damage may sometimes temporary stagger her for a few seconds. Cannot get drunk from alcohol. Almost never gets sick. Injuries received heal at a much faster rate.
Intelligence (15) [ Trying to Solve the Puzzles In My Head ] Escape room and crime dinner enthusiast, Oz is able to understand new tasks and ideas quickly and is a fast learner. Fairy good at "Explain this to me like I'm five", a skill that has proven to be useful when explaining modern-world things to the Destined One. Learns from her own and other people's mistake.
Wisdom (15) [ All the Wisest Women Had to Do It This Way ] The Travel Companion is able to read people and situations well - a very useful skill when Oz is traveling with the Destined One. He may not talk, but Oz is able to determine his moods or what he wants to communicate by his body and tail language. It's the little things and hints to look out for.
Charisma (12) [ Oh, We're Invisible ] While more introverted, the Travel Companion is not a stranger to social cues and knows what to say to the right people or how to push someone's button. She stands out with her unnatural hair color, but has a knack to disappear in the background and go unnoticed.
Skill The following list are skills that Oz has from the start
Acrobatics [ Climbed Right Back Up That Cliff ] As an avid rock climber, the Travel Companion is able to scale dangerous high walls and cliffs without protective gears. By scaling up high areas and synchronizing with at focus areas, Oz is able to unlock area maps. Can be upgraded later to have higher chances of performing a perfect dodge.
Stealth [ We Snuck Into the Circus ] Light and fast on her feet despite the platform boots, the Travel Companion is able to sneak around undetected, or approach enemies from behind to lower their guard and enable the Destined One to land critical hits. Can be upgraded later to steal things from enemies or slip things into their pockets during combat.
Perception [ Had to Listen to All This Drama ] The embodiment of "I don't want to be part of this drama, I just want to know all the details", and coupled with her [Stealth] skills, the Travel Companion is a good asset in eavesdropping and listening into conversations from a good hiding spot. Sometimes lesser yaoguai may drop useful hints and information that may be helpful in completing our objective. Can be upgraded later to spot hidden spots, secret doorways or important objects that are quest relevant.
Spells Oz does not have a [Mana] bar, the spells usage are tied to her [ Health ] bar. [Health] bar can be refilled by giving her food.
Bloodbending [ Marked Me Like a Bloodstain ] An unnatural ability that laid dormant inside Oz until she started journeying with the Destined One as his Travel Companion. For more information on the ancestor's bloodbending, please refer to this post. Spell unlocks when finishing the hidden quest << Poison Blood From the Wound of the Pricked Hand >>
Can manipulate her own blood to use as weapons. Takes a % of her [Health] to turn into small sharp weapons and can throw it at enemies to take them out from the distance. The lower her [Health], the higher the corrosive nature of her blood, and can do more damage. Spell can be upgraded to turn wounded enemy's blood into weapons and use it.
Can control other living creatures blood and use them like puppets to do your bidding. Does not cost Health, however, leaves the Travel Companion vulnerable to be attacked by others. Only able to control smaller creatures at first. Can level up skills to be able to control bigger creatures.
Each time Oz bends blood that is not her own, it raises her [Bloodlust] level.
Stardust Tears [ Eyes Full of Stars ] Tears that resemble stars and stardust with incredible healing properties. It is said that drinking [Stardust Tears] can heal any illness patch up even the worst cuts and injuries in an instant. Highly sought out by immortals and yaoguai alike. Can be upgraded to being able to see through transformations.
After meeting Xu Dog, he can use [Stardust Tears] to craft elixirs for the Destined One that will boost his Health, Mana and Stamina by 25% for a long duration. The amount of elixirs he can craft depends on how many << Hidden Memories>> have been unlocked.
✦ Inventory ✦ Oz starts out with 5 inventory slots. Upon completing a special quest in the New West, the Travel Companion can obtain a special blue bag that seems to be bigger on the inside...
Moleskine Journal and Fountain Pen: Perhaps a fountain pen might not have been the best choice of writing utensil to document their travel, but for some reason it seems like the ink will not get wash away upon contact with water. Curious indeed.
Gourd: Yuan Shoucheng claims it belongs to her ancestor.
Broken Pocket Mirror: Very pretty exterior, the mirror itself is cracked and cannot be used to travel between worlds. Looking at the pocket mirror gives Oz a sense of deja-vu...
Sunglasses: The Destined One wishes he had shades like this. Perfect for traversing through the desert, or the snowy landscape.
✦ Endings ✦
Normal Ending: Completing << I Take the Long Way Home >> quest, the pocket mirror gets repaired, Oz goes home and goes on with her life, and gets to see Taylor Swift.
Secret Ending: Triggered by completing all Hidden Memories quests.
Bad Ending: Triggered after Oz's bloodlust status crosses a certain threshold.
#szynkart#cepheus baskerville#them: how many taylor swift lyrics are you gonna squeeze in#me: yes#TIL Oz isn't even her “real” name lmfaoooo#this was very fun to write really helped me flesh out my character more#also used DnD stats here because it helped me easier to picture her abilities#black myth wukong#black myth wukong oc

ROTTMNT Curiosities Part.5
The ideas of making and ending the series through IDW comic would be easy to do
If the series is picked up, the tone of Rise would remain the same
Some chapters discarded were the following, (I took the information from
where it will be more complete, in case you want to read it)
Wedding Smashers: Ghostbear marries his fiancé Ghostpepper, a Chupacabra yokai. Raph and Mikey crash their wedding dressed as their aliases Shadybug and Dr. Rude.
Dog Dale Afternoon: April finds out that Baba Yaga cursed Dale to be a werewolf, but he doesn't know what's happening to him, Donnie shows up to “help him,” and be his doctor.
Shred Dead Redemption: Screenwriter Sheldon Vella shared the first board of his showing the brothers chasing the cupcake van called Fire and Icing in Turtle Tank. Unfortunately, a piece of cardboard (Donnie's cloaking device) blocking the front windshield causes the Tank to crash gracelessly into a Lou Jitsu poster.
Warren Stone 2: Warren Stone is cut in half again, but this time the lower half of him becomes a different Warren sporting a beard and shaved head. Warren Stone II ends up becoming a competent and dangerous enemy for the turtles. Realizing that Warren is upset, Warren II has taken his title of "The Turtles' Greatest Enemy", April helps Warren regain his charm.
Gourd Almighty: A comedic episode about Donnie trying to grow the world's largest pumpkin for a contest.
T-Hex: It was going to be about Mikey wanting a robotic toy with a "boopable snoot." After getting the toy he turns out to be not as innocent as he seems.
Lost Goat: Draxum leaves after having a fight with the family (Turtles and Splinter). As he does so, he is abducted by the foot. While trying to rescue Draxum, the family has no choice but to resolve their issues regarding him.
Goyles just wants to have fun: Huggin and Muggin are confused when they find Draxum working in a school cafeteria. Draxum asks Leo and Donnie to help improve his image so as not to lose the respect he once had for the Goyles.
Rampaging Raph: Raph comes to Draxum for help after getting trapped in his enormous mystical form. He is ashamed of not having mastered his mystical powers like his brothers. Draxum ends up splitting Raph and his mystical power, which then becomes a problem when the Red Hulk turns red and begins crushing the city, getting stronger with each hit. To save the city, Raph has to confess and ask his brothers for help.
The Island of Dr. Noe: Hunter/dentist Dr. Noe kidnaps Raph and Leo and takes them to his home island. The doctor wants Raph's tooth in his tooth collection.
Toddler Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mikey becomes the oldest when his siblings turn into little turtles after being attacked by an immortal mutant jellyfish bank robber. 163.There is a small chance that Such TMNT and Rise exist at the same time. 164.Production ties were a little over a year from premise. About 8 weeks from premise to draft record, about 12 for a storyboard, 8 for final animation, with design happening all the time. 6 months for full animation, music, etc. 165. You always interacted a lot with the design team when writing 166.Here is the board with the episodes of the series (in season 2), although some are jokes 167.Although Netflix supported Rise for the movie, it is not Ron or Russ's decision whether the series will continue or not, but they want it to continue supporting 168. The best way to support Rise is to keep watching, posting and spreading the word for the show

answering all my asks in a big bunch
@help-system
it's kind of cool to think about actually & something i didn't consider (re: the implications for future generations). the reason he has to stay in a town flock isn't just because he's formed attachments there, but because he is vision-impaired and his feathers are fucked from lack of structural pigment and would struggle to live without the support system (for lack of a better term) of the town around him. his survival depends on living in a society. that also means he'll survive to pass on this trait when otherwise he would not. it's recessive so yeah could definitely be passed on!
@focshi
Oh habitat & life habits change the look of the nests completely. for the ama plains eagle harpies I was imagining a kind of gourd-shaped woven bower.. sortaaa like this as the eastern edge of the plains (where they live) has emergent columnar basalt and it's on these big stone stacks where they make their nests. use rope and picks to secure the bowers to the columns and the king's eyrie (the tallest one naturally) is built around a log tied upright with guy-ropes driven into the stone. they are all flexible enough that they blow around a lot in the wind without suffering much damage (see pic below)
in between them are net-like rope platforms and ladders as well as more 'spires' which are the trees propped upright on the columns. solid stone is the only safe 'ground' material to build nests on.
@gardenergulfie many of the monsters were bound by additional magical rules on top of the "you are twisted into a monstrous form" main thing. i hadn't thought of many tbh but i believe sphinxes were more strictly bound by their riddle names rather than just doing it playfully by choice, i know there was more but it escapes me. i'll have to think of some!
wyrms are cursed with immortality in a very classical sense so it would be impossible for Revelation not to be around in Cuinn's time. but ah... i wouldn't say it's in a good state
wildfire unfortunately is no longer with us. in mind & spirit anyway.
For eagle harpies, baby-rearing is not communal. The parents swap brooding/hunting roles (one broods/warms the young, the other hunts, they barely get time to sleep). Once baby is old enough to fly it hops out and joins the other fledglings in their eyrie. Parents rarely have anything to do with them after that but they will occasionally stop by to deliver discipline if they feel their offspring isn't behaving properly.
Partnerships are monogamous (but if the king wants your girl then that's his girl for the night) and last as long as any relationships might; could be many years, could barely last a season. there's a stigma against breaking up while tending a nest so some harpies with relationship problems tough it out for the sake of the kids (this never works)
The king does not care about his offspring as people, only as tokens of his virility and strength. Kings often boast of how many offspring they have (and the All-King can have hundreds) but do they know all (or even any of) their kids' names? of course not
Regular cobs do most of the fathering because most flocks don't have a king and they have to reproduce somehow. There's no visible difference between the offspring of a king vs the offspring of a cob. eggs is eggs
Eagle harpy pens can lay up to 4 eggs in one nesting season. Sibling aggression is common in the early days and if unsupervised they can kill one another but that's seen as a sign of lazy and inattentive parenting UNLESS the baby being picked on was kinda runty and then it's their own fault for being a whimp and they should toughen up. Parents can lay unfertilised eggs but rarely do, it's similar to a false pregnancy. Unfertilised eggs are eaten. Harpies of different species base cannot interbreed, but bear in mind that harpy species diversity is overall much lower than birds.
Eagle harpies are VERY protective of their eggs. It's not unheard of for other harpies of the same eyrie to steal their neighbours' eggs for various reasons (you can gain favour if you have one of the king's offspring in your nest....). many predators also might want to take some as well (sphinxes are... very ferocious predators of harpies, but also you gotta watch out for that little human who might have ambitions of being a falconer). parents will guard their eggs viciously.
I don't think it's unreasonable to imagine such a scam tbh... yeah sure take this egg it'll tooootally hatch into a big strong harpy. human falconers probably candle their eggs frequently to monitor them so i think they would catch on very quickly though hehe

Once…there was a legend. Of the clan that inherited the will of an Aeon, Long the Permanence. This clan was bestowed with the gift of immortality, being able to spend hundreds of years roaming this world.
This legend…revolves around two beings that directly inherited this will. The will of the heart of the dragon. Those who have successfully inherited this will through trials and challenges will be bestowed with power that overleaps its bounds of regular limits.
Born from different eggs, yet inherit the same heart, was two siblings. Similar to each other, yet so different from the other. A fierce and stoic brother, and a kind and gentle sister. One inherited the might of the seas, and the other inherited the wisdom of the remedies.
Once this shy but sociable sister desired to find company. So her confident but reserved brother brought her and introduced her to a group outside the walls of her confines.
With the arrogant heart that she managed to pure, she followed through with eyes of a child, and a heart yearning for more. A heart that showed nothing but kindness, until the blacksmith taught the princess the meaning of love.
But siblings don't go too far from each other. Sooner rather than later, even the brother began to favor his heart towards the short-lived species. The heart that was in his sister began to resonate as greed and jealousy plagued his soul.
He would fight, even if it meant going behind his dear sister's back.
With greed…all three of them fell into ruin. Even the homeland they so desperately tried to protect…
The dragon went missing, the princess lay in rest, the blacksmith was cursed and the prince's kin was exiled.
"This is a legendary tale told amongst the Vidyadhara children," said the nurse to her charge. The young doctor sighed and pouted, a cute frown on her lips, a rosy blush on her cheeks.
"Why are there only tales of woe wove from the history of dust ?" the next high elder asked, looking up from her many books, setting down her brush that was dipped in black ink.
"Because in the end, we can only remember the memories that impacted us the most, Lady Bailu."
Bailu huffed, and crossed over her arms before looking up at the ceiling that housed her in her little 'cage'. The tail behind her whipped in annoyance, the shackle binding it making it heavy.
"I wonder what happened to them after the story ended..."
It happened all in a blink of an eye. In one moment, she had knocked down one of the Mara-struck soldiers. She was about to hand her gourd to one of the healers to apply to the fallen star when the other plagued ones had rose to their feet, about to attack her.
The trailblazers (Y/n) had recognized from Jing Yuan's hologram meeting were there too, watching from the sidelines as they stiffened, grabbing their weapons as they were about to step in to assist. The grey haired star traveler with her bat, the pink haired girl with her bow, and the man with the power of the imaginary.
But before they managed to step in, a cool icy breeze pushed past them, small thin petals of ice drifting in the wind from behind them. The wind began to pick up, all of a sudden from out of nowhere. All visions blurred for a slight moment as the icy winds shut their eyes.
A determined thump of a heal resounded in the little dragon's ears, as her eyes were blinded with the sudden hurricane.
"Freeze within the confines of beauty and purity," a cold yet warm voice whispered through the mist.
As eyes opened again, the mara struck soldiers were stuck in lotus like cages, cold air being stuck in their confines, freezing them to the core. The abominations thrashed in there, but their movements were growing slower by the second.
But that wasn't all.
In front of Bailu, stood a tall woman, her (h/c) swaying around her as the winds died down, probably due to the extreme power this woman exerted just from her form.
"Are you alright ?!" a woman asked, standing proudly and protectively in front of the healers that were startled from the sudden confrontation.
This woman...the lady with silky (h/c) hair like the finest silk, woven from the freshest flowers. Eyes of (e/c) carved from the most brilliant precious stones in the universe. Skin so clear and soft, like a child that had just hatched from their egg. Blue horns that perched on her head, confirming her identity and status.
Bailu would be crazy not to recognize the woman before her.
"L-lady Dan--" Bailu cut herself short, knowing the information she had received earlier.
"Lady (Y/n), what are you doing here ?!" the young dragon girl asked.
(Y/n) looked behind her to immediately notice the horns perched atop of the girl's head, the tail swishing so eagerly behind her. She frowned, her eyebrows creasing for a moment. Her beautiful purple tail...was shackled. For what reason...?
"Are you alright ?" (Y/n) asked, crouching down in front of the young heiress, hands on her arms as she looked into those troubled blue eyes. Once she had received a nod from the young girl, she turned to the Astral Expressers, her hands clutching her fan tightly.
"I...I'm alright ! M-my name is Bailu !" the little girl quickly introduced. (Y/n) raised an eyebrow at the hastiness. Was this little girl...scared of her...?
"Give them a moment. You can knock them out cold once the ice lotus has froze them." (Y/n) said with a nod to the oldest of them, finding her instincts telling her that he was leading the two young women.
Soon after she was sure that the forsaken ones had froze from her powers, the ice petals of the lotus that caged them moved in a wilting way, releasing the abominations of their confines and disintegrating into fine mist. And the Nameless got to work.
"Thank you for your assistance, Lady..." the brunette-haired man asked, looking at the refined young dragon woman before him. He wasn't quite sure how to address the woman before him, but he was sure she was of high standing, based on her clothes, horns, air of elegance, show of power. And most of all...the way the young dragon lady addressed her as Lady.
"(Y/n). My name is (Y/n)." (Y/n) said with a nod, standing up to acknowledge the help. Bailu had went off with the other healers to assess the wounds and conditions of the Mara-struck soldiers, being knocked out cold for a while as Bailu gave them her elixir.
"Lady (Y/n). My name is Welt Yang," the brunette man introduced before gesturing to the other two women. "And this is March, and Stelle."
March beamed out a happy and bubbly 'Hello !" at the woman, and Stelle nodded in acknowledgment, commenting shortly about 'You have pretty horns. Are they real ?'. (Y/n) nodded softly, finding Stelle's question rather...humorous.
"Thanks for helping to stabilize the patients..." Bailu sighed as she turned around from the fallen mara-struck soldiers to meet the Trailblazers that had helped them.
"Your...'assertive sedations' techniques are quite effective." Bailu acknowledged with a small nod.
"Assertive sedation techniques...? Does she mean beating people up ?" March asked with a finger to her lips.
"However..." Bailu said, looking behind her, and then looking down to the ground. "These Cloud Knights were already sick, and now they're injured too. I've gotta bandage up their wounds, realign their bones...ugh, as if I didn't have enough already on my plate !"
Then (Y/n) turned to Bailu. "I could help you if you need. If I could just remember things right, I should be able to do it." she said with a nod, and Bailu gleamed in joy.
But before Bailu could express her gratitude, March cut in with a question, after inspecting the two horned beings before her, trying to connect the dots. "Where did you come from, little one ? Is your dad around ?"
Then March turned to (Y/n). "Do you know where her parents are ?"
Before (Y/n) could answer, Bailu chirped up, "I don't have a dad."
"Uh...what about your mom ?" "I don't have a mom either."
(Y/n) was so perplexed at the exchange, she couldn't even find it in her to laugh at how clueless and vague Bailu made the Vidyadhara situation to be.
Bailu sighed, looking at March then shaking her head in disappointment. "I get it, you think because I'm small I'm must be a runaway child."
"Welcome to the Xianzhou, my short-lived outsider friends, appearances can be deceiving here !" Bailu announced, her little hands on her hips. "The Vidyadhara race is self-reincarnating. No mum or dad required !"
"What she means is, as you can see here, we're not humans. We're a more draconic race known as the Vidyadhara. Our most significant features are our pointed ears, but for special cases like for myself and Miss Bailu here, we have horns and a tail." (Y/n) explained, crouching down and placing a hand on the small back of the little lady next to her.
"We don't have parents. Whenever we are gravely injured or our bodies no longer are able to sustain us, we return back to an egg for reincarnation process." (Y/n) patiently explained, using what knowledge she had from her 'past' life. Although it wasn't too hard to dig out since it was general knowledge instead of self-history.
"Yeah ! I've been studying the art of healing ever since I cast off my old shell ! You're looking at a recognized, practicing, dedicated doctor !" Bailu proudly said in front of the Trailblazers, and in front of (Y/n).
(Y/n) let out a soft chuckle, realizing why this child was a little hesitant with her in the beginning. This child wanted to show (Y/n) she was a capable person. For what reason ? Perhaps this abundance of energy would let it slip later.
"Belobog kids are making snowmen while children here are writing prescriptions..." March said, as she looked at Stelle. A frown pulled at her pretty lips, while her companion shook her head in response.
Bailu looked up at March, worry in her pretty sea eyes. "Things haven't been very peaceful on the Luofu recently. Make sure you don't--" "Go running around, right ?" March continued, a soft smile on her lips.
"Well your general gave us an errand, so I'm afraid we have to." March said, shaking her head.
As they continued to talk, (Y/n) couldn't help but notice the constant pair of eyes that burned through her back. It seemed that there were some that are quite...dissatisfied with her presence here. She was sure that when Jing Yuan allowed her to roam the streets, he must've held an audience with the Six Charioteers, the Ten-Lords Commission and the Vidyadhara Preceptors.
So why is that maid in the back there looking all fidgety...?
(Y/n) turned around to leave the group (after learning how to exchange beacons with Bailu and the rest), and walked towards the maid that stood quite a ways behind them. She wasn't much of a person up for confrontation, but if matters called, she didn't mind putting people in their place, now so that she had regained some memories of her past identity.
"You." (Y/n) asked as she stood in front of that maid. This was the maid that looked quite dissatisfied with (Y/n) from the moment (Y/n) stepped close to Bailu.
This woman had pointed ears. Huh. So it must be Bailu's retainers, then. Such a heavy watch for a child that could barely even reach her waist. Had something happened once she had succumbed to her slumber ?
"I was hoping you'd never step close to Miss Bailu." the woman said, and it made (Y/n) raise her brow at this.
"And why is that ? Is she not the next High Elder ? Does she not have a say in what she should and should not do ?" (Y/n) asked, her hands holding onto the fan.
"Once you had woken up from your slumber, the Preceptors are threatening to remove Miss Bailu of her position. After your brother, Dan Feng threatened to ruin the High Elder Succession of the Luofu..."
"Hold on. Miss Bailu's draconic features is more than enough proof for her to be the High Elder, is it not ?" (Y/n) said, putting a thoughtful hand to her lips. Then she shook her head. "And if you're worried about the succession of the new High Elder, you mustn't worry. For as long as my brother does not return, I cannot be the High Elder, no matter how much power I behold."
"I would merely be...incomplete without him."
And suddenly, she felt as if her heart was beating loudly in her chest. Her eyes widened as she suddenly felt the loud thumping in her chest, pulling her somewhere. Somewhere...familiar.
Following her heart, she excused herself from the maid and went off. It felt as if something was pulling her heart, like a string pulling her along where she walked.
Past the citizens...through streets...and into the dark alleyway none would've dared walked into.
She was alone in the dark. She wondered not why did she follow her heart without thinking rationally. She clutched her fan tightly in one hand, though she was sure anyone in their right mind wouldn't want to venture into these silent and cold dark spaces. Not when there was the internal strife she was told about.
(Y/n) shook her head, pondering about why did her heart really bring her here. That was, until she felt strong arms wrap around her smaller form, her back colliding with a rock-hard surface, and a weight softly dropping itself onto her shoulder, breathing softly as the individual took in her scent of flowers and ice.
"Even though I didn't want to let you see me again..." a deep and cold voice resonated in her ear. Then soft lips pecked themselves on her shoulder.
"I just had to see you one last time..."

Autumns at the Ministry include:
Walks through the autumn foiliage with the ghouls as they mark up certain trees with their horns to ward off other demons and beasties, the way deers would mark their territory.
Mountain pressing cider and making sure all the sisters get some. You can sit with him to drink some and relax after all the busyness.
Aurora is the pumpkin patch queen. She enlists you to help decorate with gourds and jack-o-lanterns everywhere. You end up goofing off like kids in the corn maze, though.
The ministry has a garden pond that Swiss likes to sit by and practice new songs or write on those cloudy autumn days. He doesn't mind if you sit with him.
Snuggling by the fire pit? Snuggling by the fire pit.
Papa is victim to all the teenage Halloween season pranks and troublemaking but it's all coming from immortal ghouls instead.
The nuns get him with the caramel apple swapped with an onion prank and they have a good laugh about it.
Sodo at least once gets you by grabbing your ankle from a pile of leaves he's burrowed into. He's nice enough to make sure you're not carrying anything when he spooks you, though.
There's lots of scrubbing and cleaning going on this time of year, sweeping out all the dust and putting up lights and candles. The ghouls will always make sure a hot bath and something to eat is waiting for you at the end of the day.
Mountain helps the sisters store away food for the year as he doesn't trust the other ghouls not to make a mess. Offer to help and he'll feed you bits when no one's looking.
Lots of gift swapping going on. You always end up with new gloves and wool and boots, the ghouls wanting to make sure you're bundled up well in the coming days.
The kitchens are full of baked goods and cured meats... which the ghouls are eager to watch you fill up on. They love watching your tummy and thighs grow more plump this time of year.
After evenings gathering up wood to store away, most nights end in a cuddle pile in front of the fireplace.

The Mystery gourd/squash(?) seemed too light when I picked it, so I assumed it had just a little stringy flesh with the seeds inside. However, when I opened one, there is a bit more there than I thought. Also, the rind is about as firm as a winter squash, and not as hard as a gourd. The smell is pretty close to raw pumpkin. So I am going to process a couple of them into puree and use them for pumpkin muffins, pie, etc.
After digging the last of the sweet potatoes, I decided to bring some vines in for the winter. They lived indoors last winter, why not make them immortal? (one winter at a time)
I put 70% creek sand/silt and 30% garden soil in there, hoping it will be easy to get them back out in the spring. Even 'good' soil around here has so much clay that, if you try to pot things in it, it compacts to a solid lump in a short time. They can hang out near a southwest window with the bonsai grapefruit.

How o think the meeting with he Stalwarts went in Slow Boiled.
Wukong: *Is visiting Pigsy's shop to get some peace without having an overly protective bull up his neck but not wanting to expend the energy to travel all the way back to FFM* And so I-
*doors of the Noodle Shop suddenly open*
Wukong: *sees the new customers* Oh no... Quick! Hide me!
It's too late. They see his tail sticking out from under the counter. They play along for a bit just to mess with them.
Ma: Oh... we just heard an old friend of ours was recently spotted in town and decided to come down to see him.
MK: Uh... okay? I guess I could check around. Whats he look like.
Ba: Shíhóu is a monkey like us, although he has a habit of shapeshifting a lot. The one thing he can't hide is..." *pauses for dramatic effect before grabbing the tail sticking out from behind the counter* "His tail! Gotcha!"
Wukong yelps like a little girl before being forced to suffer his fate as his older siblings are all here for the express purpose of embarrassing the hell out of him in front of his new student and troupe members, including several embarrassing stories, demands on why he never told them they were gonna be uncles/aunts, and teases.
MK: *trips and does soemthing embarrassing*
Ma: Huh... he's a clumsy one.
Wukong: He'll figure it out.
Ma: Just like that time you tripped over your cape the first time you wore it in public and got your head stuck in a gourd?"
Wukong: Ma!
ohohoho!!
Wukong's elder siblings coming down from the mountain village the second that they hear Wukong has choosen an heir + is going to be a parent?! They must see their baby brother! They sniff him out easily after figuring that he'd stay close to his successor.
The four older-looking (not as many immortality peaches) monkey demons love teasing/embarassing Sun Wukong, something that MK didn't even know was possible.
They also comfort their little bro on his worries of parenthood + vowing to punch Macaque when they see him next.
MK likes the Stalwarts. They put a lot of his insecurities about his lack of experience to rest. Hearing how clumsy the Monkey King was as a cub helps a lot.

Besides samadhi fire, is it mentioned what other weaknesses Wukong has?
He has been seen to be nearly the perfect fighter but in the face of certain magical items, he has been weakened. And in other, he has been completely overwhelmed.
When it comes to feats that have left him so hurt he was incapacitated it has been done by other different demons.
Yellow Wind Demon - Samadhi Wind has left him blind
Scorpion Demon - her venom left Wukong sick for some time
Honorary mentions! They didn't hurt Wukong but they did stop him without the use of magical items.
Immortal Zhenyuan - able to trap Wukong and party in his sleeves, unable to harm him
Silver Horn Demon King - putting THREE heavenly mountains on top of him to trap him (More information about this feat here by JTTWR https://journeytothewestresearch.com/2018/08/05/1521/)
Hundred Eyed Demon Lord - flashing lights blinding Wukong momentarily
Buddha - Traped him under the Five Fingers Mountain for 500 years
These are the most notable instances that was hurt or that he was left unable to move.
Now there are some magical items that have similar effects as well but these are items that can affect anyone in the same manner and should be noted that they are powerful no matter the wielder.
The Diamond Snare / Golden Jade Ring - used by Laozi to trap Wukong and used by Single Horned Rhino King to steal his staff
The Purple Gold Red Gourd - used by Silver Horn to trap Wukong (escaped through tricking the brothers)
Flask of Yin and Yang Essence - Used by Golden Winged Peng (escaped by using Gaunyin's golden hairs)
Banana Leaf Fan - used by Princess Iron Fan to blow Wukong away, had to use a pill to stay in place
Golden Cymbals - used by Yellow Brow Demon to trap Wukong and needed the aid of constellations to get him to escape
I may be missing a thing or two but honestly, I think that I got them all at least. Wukong isn't easy to stop and there are a LOT of items that were created just for the sake to at least slow him down. But most of these feats either show Wukong's resistance or to show his intelligence in getting out of traps. I do enjoy that a lot of these items show how one has to use cunning and reasoning to get out of, really highlighting Wukong's titles as the Mind Monkey.

The New Trail
"Hey - you made it. Take a seat, take a seat. Got a gourd of the good stuff to share - Raubahn owed me a favour.
It's... Been a ride, hasn't it? Scions and Ascians, Primals and Garleans, faraway lands and whole other skies. There were times where I felt like I'd kill for a day off.
But there's been bright spots, too. People I'd never have met otherwise, experiences I'd never have had. Good scraps, good food, good company, good drink. Good fishing.
I never imagined, setting out from Tamamizu all those years ago, that I'd go so far afield. Broke bread with Admirals and Sultanas, stared down Gods and Demons. I met the Four Lords - can you believe it? Genbu called me his equal. Genbu. I'm still reeling. Soroban taking his place, too - my own brother, one of the Four Lords!
And people in all stripes. Immortals and would-be gods, those who should by rights have died long before they encountered me, and those who it felt merciful to strike down. Fools and cowards and Archons and brave folk, always a new face to meet.
I wonder what Bunchin would say, if he knew what kind of decisions I have had to make.
Sip that sake slowly, it's got a real kick to it.
I have to say, all that's happened - there are times I wish it hadn't been me. But... Who else would I wish it on? If I turned away, I'd just be consigning someone else. And I can do it - I can shoulder it all.
Besides, I can't let Soroban outstrip me. If he's going to be one of the Four Lords now, I need to keep up. What kind of sister would I be otherwise?
But I need to remember, I'm not indestructible. Remind me of that, if you ever see me forgetting. I'm not a kami, or a god, or an immortal. I'm just... Me.
Just a Kojin.
...
Hey... It's dawn.
Where do you think it will take us?"

For #Feathersday: Some selections from the Kingfisher Headdresses from China exhibition at Art Institute of Chicago showcasing tian-tsui, the traditional Chinese fine art of using the highly prized iridescent blue feathers of regional Kingfisher species (Alcedinidae).
Lots more pieces (including smaller hairpins & earrings) on display at the exhibition, open through May 2023.
It is also important to note that the demand for feathers for tian-tsui nearly drove kingfishers to extinction in China in the early 20th centry, with the last feather factory closing in 1933. But there are now some contemporary artists reviving the craft who make a point of using ethically sourced feathers (collected from molt etc).
1 Cap (清朝 点翠头饰) China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 18th-19th century Gold wire, kingfisher feathers, amber, coral, jadeite, ivory, glass, silk Exceptional workmanship and the brilliant color of the kingfisher feathers make this an outstanding example of a woman's headdress. At the center, a phoenix with a peacock-like tail is flanked by a pair of dragons. Stacked above the phoenix are a large bat studded with a jadeite gem and another executed in fine filigree. Gourds, symbolizing the wish for multiple offspring, appear on the sides and suggest that this cap may have been worn by a young woman.
2 Headdress (清朝 点翠头饰) China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century Silk-covered lattice, kingfisher feathers, gilt bronze, jadeite, coral, amethyst, rose quartz, and carnelian The central roundel on this headdress features a butterfly with jadeite wings and a coral body while those on either side contain rose-quartz flowers and narrow-waisted bottle gourds, symbols of fertility. Below the butterfly, two bat-like creatures with long antennae and quartz bodies are flanked by gourds. Jade-petal flowers and other plant motifs fill the top register.
3 Headdress (清朝 点翠头饰) China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century Kingfisher feathers, gilt bronze, pearls, garnets. rose quartz, jadeite, and glass, applied to a silk-wrapped wickerwork trellis The numerous stylized creatures that adorn this headdress are bats. They represent a motif favored in Chinese art because the Chinese word for "bat" (fu) sounds similar to that for good fortune. The wings of the large bats are fashioned with seed pearls, and red agate cameos indicate the eyes and bodies of the smaller ones. Their long antennae end in pearls, which would quiver with the slightest movement when the headdress was worn. The strings of pearls hanging from the lower rim form a veil.
4 Tiara (清朝 点翠头饰) China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century Kingfisher feathers on silver gilt, jadeite, carnelian, coral, and ivory In Chinese culture dragons are powerful but benevolent creatures, and the ones that decorate the top of this tiara chase a central flaming pearl- a combination that probably expresses the hopes for a happy marriage. Around the perimeter, stylized characters for longevity (show) and small figures of immortals symbolize a further wish for long life. On the inner rim, the eight phoenixes facing downward are also talismans for good fortune.
5 Tiara (清朝 点翠头饰) China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century Kingfisher feathers on gold and gilt bronze, agate, and lapis lazuli At the top of this tiara, a pair of dragons chase a flaming pearl, a motif expressing hopes for a happy marriage. Below them a pavilion probably represents a paradise of immortals, and still farther down are two goldfish, symbolizing offspring and good fortune. The bottom is composed of a row of birds facing downwards, each holding in its beak a string of pearls suspending L-shaped musical chimes. The Chinese word for chime, qing, is similar to that for celebration.
6 Opera Costume Headdress (民国 点翠头饰) China, first half of 20th century Kingfisher feathers, gilt bronze, faux pearls, and glass This headdress teems with symbols of good fortune. The design centers on a large tree peony and below it, a pair of guardian lions flank a flaming pearl. The next row down features red-headed phoenixes and a dragon. A pair of leaping fish--symbolizing a successful career and abundant offspring- appear above the peony. At the top is a pavilion, perhaps representing a paradise of immortals. More details appear amidst the primary designs: bats and butterflies fluttering their wings and Chinese characters with meanings such as "wealth," "longevity," "nobility," and "glory," collectively imbuing the headdress with an air of celebration.
7 Opera Costume Headdress (民国 点翠头饰) China, Possibly Guangxi province, early 20th century Gilt bronze, kingfisher feathers, pearls, coral, silk thread, and glass Together with phoenixes, mandarin ducks, and bats, four large clamshells decorate this headdress. Each clamshell contains a pearl that is visible only from the side or the top. Contemporary audiences would likely have noticed many pearls dotting the headdress, though, and associated them with the clamshells' contents. In addition to wealth, the pearls probably symbolize a wish for a happy marriage and many offspring.

The only book I know about (in English) about tian-tsui feather art is this one:
Kingfisher Blue: Treasures of an Ancient Chinese Art by Beverley Jackson (2001)
PS - kingfisher feathers aren't really blue - and in fact no bird feathers are known to have "true blue" pigmentation! It's all structural color, just a trick of the light fooling our eyes. :) (Try taking a single "blue" feather and backlighting it sometime to see for yourself!)

Black Myth: Wukong Journal Entries Part 2
Part 1 talks about what happened to the monkeys from Mount Huaguo after SWK died
Part 2 will be about the bosses you fight in chapter 6 to get the Golden Suozi armor parts, I will be linking back to the fandom wiki for the full journal entries and some videos. I highly recommend reading the articles in full because it also talks about what kind of person Sun Wukong is/was.
Sun Wukong's armor were scattered around Mt. Huaguo and turned into creatures after he died.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert in JTTW, a lot of things are drawn up from my own conclusion.
Long text so everything is under cut!
Gold Armored Rhino
SWK has a heart of gold, lungs of silver, head of copper and iron body from being in the Furnace for 40 days
Can still feep pain when injured though
was fed iron pellet and moletn copper by mountain deities and keepers when he was buried under Five-Element Mountain for 500 years
his monkeys didn't visit him :(
also headband curse so tight his head would resmeble a gourd ouch
Golden Armored Rhino mirrors the Great Sage's indomitable spirit, never yielding to defeat
"[...] Even if its horn was shattered, it never lost the resolve to charge into battle, standing resolute and read to fight anew.
In the game, you have to shatter his horn with heavy attacks in order to be able to do a lot of damage, but the horn grows back after few seconds, so it's rise and repeat. Also the location of the armor is littered with dead soldier bodies. After the fight ZBJ says that the bosses were killing the soldiers because the soldiers were trying to get the armor pieces. Dialogue starts at 4:22
Cloudtreading Deer
Sommersault Cloud made Wukong's body invulnerable and movement agile, but his lack of patience would lead to trouble
this whole paragraph: "Immortals often say that Sun Wukong was at his most mischievous and ruthless when he was the Monkey King. Yet, during that time, aside from his battles with the Celestial Court, he rarely harmed other beings. It was only after he became a disciple, following his master and gaining direction, that he developed many thunderous methods. Stealing, robbing, kidnapping, killing, arson, and destroying mountains and caves—all became second nature to him."
Cloudtreading Deer is transformed from his Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders (the things protecting his legs)
represents both sides of his nature: free-spirited and agile nature and his inherent ferocity
Cloudtreading Deer battle has two phases, the first one where it casts stupid tornados and also moves around very fast and through the sky. I fucking hated that phase LMFAO. Second phase was easier, but also spooky the boss turns into some blood deer and it's giving me massive bloodborne vibes. Transformation starts at 8:10 in the video. Basically, phase 1 is the free spirited and agile nature of wukong, and phase 2 is his ruthleness and ferocity
Feng-Tail General
Learned human manners and speech during his travels and when he studied Dao at Mt. Lingtai
"When he left in a huff at Yingchou Stream, the Old Loong King reasoned with him, and he returned to admit his mistakes. He abandoned arbitrary actions and always heeded sound advice." -> Before they met the White Dragon horse at the Yingchou stream, Tripitaka and SWK were ambushed by bandits, and SWK killed them all, to which Tripitaka was not happy about. They fought, SWK left. He then chats with the Old Loong King of the stream, who also told SWK that there was a White Dragon and his master might be in danger, so SWK goes back to Tripitaka. Also in his absence that's when Guanyin gave Tripitaka the headband to be put onto SWK
"He forged brotherly bonds with yaoguais, engaged in jest with immortals, and exchanged banter with Bodhisattvas. His amiable nature endeared him to all, who were ever willing to offer their assistance. He had a sense of decorum and propriety." -> not much for me to add there, he becomes sworn brothers with few yaoguai, like the Bull King or Erlang Shen
"He had the ability to summon wind and rain and could seek out loongs. He could transform into guais for scouting or borrow vessels when needed. In times of trouble, he sought the aid of higher beings, seldom relying on brute force."
-> truth lol, like the amount of times he had to get help from other deities to beat up an enemy and save his master
"This Feng-Tail General, with multiple eyes on his head, had a keen understanding of both himself and his enemies. He was adept at leaping and dodging, avoiding powerful foes whenever possible, and displayed a touch of the monkey's cleverness. It's no wonder that the crown on the monkey's head grasped his nimble thoughts so well."
This is the only boss you didn't have to fight, I saw it more as a stamina / health test to test your built lol. Basically what you have to do in the game is jump onto it's head and hold onto the antenna while the grasshopper is jumping three times, and then pull the antennas out while not getting burned. And yeah in the map he is just leaping and jumping around. Honestly not even sure if you can try to fight it, I didn't bother to find out.
Emeral-Armed Mantis
"Tang Monk often advocated for kindness, while Sun Wukong was known for his punishment of evil."
"At Kui-Mu Wolf's abode, upon learning of the princess's suffering and her reluctance to leave due to her feelings for the yaoguai and children bore for him, Sun Wukong ordered Bajie to throw the yaoguai's children from the height, reducing them to two lumps of flesh." -> Referencing the arc in ch. 38-31 in JTTW, the Yellow Robe Demon, also known as Kuimulang (will abbreviate as KML). KML is one of the 28 constellations, and he had a lover. in JTTW she was reincarnated as a princess, gets kidnapped by KML, married for 13 years and they have two kids. It's those two kids where SWK orders ZBJ to throw them off.
"At Old Yang's house, after learning of the unfilial deeds of the old couple's son and seeing how they indulged him for the sake of incense offerings, he proceeded to behead the son despite Old Yang's pleas." -> Ch. 52 in JTTW, screenshot taken from here
"Sun Wukong's nature was to show no mercy to villains and evildoers; he delighted in eradicating evils and yaoguais. The numerous blood debts on the journey to the West, though each had its reasons, were mostly attributed to the monkey.
The world knew of the other three pieces of armor, but they were unaware that the mantis was actually transformed from the Great Sage's gauntlet. It seems the gauntlet inherited the Great Sage's ruthlessness, for it played tricks on Zhu Bajie with the same cunning."
The last bit refers to when ZBJ was trying to catch the mantis but it jumped into his mouth down his throat into his stomach instead and the DO had to go inside his mouth to fight the mantis.
The first half of the battle is super easy imo but then after you cut down certain % of his HP, the mantis gets a lot more aggressive. While the mantis was inside ZBJ stomach, it is cutting on its wall, hence ZBJ is doubling over in pain. So I guess this refers to how ruthless SWK can be
