Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen is boring and predictable. I have said this a few times but I'll say it again: domestic thrillers are really not my thing. It’s honestly like any other domestic thriller in the sense that the same plot points are rehashed with nothing original to offer. I definitely get that ideas are re-used constantly but they should be at least written well. The book suffered from mediocre storytelling and I wanted to DNF it but I shouldered on. 

Essentially, 42 year old Ruth Sterling and her 24 year old daughter are close. They share locations with each other, they keep tabs on each other but more so the mother and they’re pretty emmenshed with each other. However, there’s a small problem - Catherine, the daughter, doesn’t really know anything about her mother. Once she finds her mother in a huge lie, Catherine is determined to find out who her mother really is. Trouble is, her mother seems to have a sinister past. 

So, what should have been an exciting book takes very long to become interesting. It goes on and on about their day to day life and Catherine slowly discovering who her mother is but there is just no urgency. I don’t feel it and that affects the pace. Only the end was somewhat interesting but it was way too late.

Where is the thrill in this thriller book?

1. This was an easy read but nothing remarkable happens throughout the book, no jaw-dropping twists, no intriguing turns; the 30% reveal was the highlight of the entire book and that was just average.

2. The reason I kept on frantically flipping the pages is to see if something crazy will happen next but it was all so predictable and kind of boring.

3. You'll have to suspend disbelief, like really chuck it out the window in order to enjoy this book.

4. The ending was so underwhelming, I was hoping for some thrill and intrigue but you know what they say about hope? It breeds eternal misery!

5. Also, now I'm craving Lasagna Pizza but yeah, this was not my cup of tea.

A Linked Universe meets The Dark Crystal AU! I don't even remember what started it at this point. I remembered that the Dark Crystal and Age of Resistance are things I like, blinked, and woke up three days later with an AU and a bunch of art.

The designs and the story are a wip and for fun so expect a lot of variation! (I have a few different beginnings, ideas for different designs, etc)! :D

okok i am FINALLY FUCKING CAUGHT UP to my commission pileup that's been chasing me like a javert for four months.

time to FINALLY do the prints spring cleaning (okay summer cleaning its gonna be june in less than a week) in the coming days.

basically I gotta figure out which prints sell the worst/are the oldest, run them on a 25% discount until they run out, and put those prints out of circulation until folks specifically ask me to do another run or two

If I can get my shit together this sale SHOULD go live on monday, and then I can focus on figuring out what NEW print designs I'd like to get together for yall

not sure how intentional this was but tobias has popped off with helping us warm to papa v before he arrives. he released an upbeat and emotional bop that feels like a hug & a memory that nihil said he was 'saving for the new guy'; i don't know papa v yet and will always be sad to see copia go, but tfiafl has already killed off any tiny resentment that might have been there for a replacement. can't wait to see him sing it, whoever he turns out to be
