The funniest part of The Witch from Mercury's ending is that Prospera just gets to be Farmland Meemaw.

Although, in writing this post, I think I've come to realize that the reason she doesn't get arrested is like... there's nothing that actually ties her to anything. The Assembly League had enough information to start an investigation, but couldn't really get past the start because of how uncooperative Belmeria was at first. Quiet Zero and Aerial both dissolved into space dust, so there was no physical evidence to connect her to Quiet Zero or even Quinnharbor. She also never made any megalomaniacal announcement of her intention, so all they have to go off is Suletta telling the Assembly League inspector her mom was there, which she could just as easily be like "uh, I was wrong!"

And look at her, she's just a lil' old Farmland Meemaw in an oversized cardigan and neckwarmer because she's a little chilly, she's harmless.

Hello Yosugay nation, its been 3000 years. Anyways, as I have been doing some autism things like commiting crimes, being depressed and being a swagass transman. I have neglected to draw some Yosugay and Narukami. Idea to draw them as UC Gundam characters came from when I saw catnatch draw our bois as Code Geass and I went 'Gundam is a mecha I really like and Gundam is gay' so I was like yeah lets draw em. Also I felt like it wouldn't be right to not credit them when they inspired this piece.

What's up with the wolves?

This post made me want to talk about Duo and how he was initially conceived as Gundam Wing's protagonist, but instead of derailing OP’s post with my ramblings, I thought it better to make them a separate post.

We all know this shot of Duo in the first opening, and like many others I, too, have wondered why on Earth the American street urchin character would be sporting heraldic wolves on his jacket as though he’s European nobility.

They never show up in the series proper, just the opening. And there is absolutely nothing about Duo that could remotely relate him to nobility. He's pretty much the furthest thing from it.

...unless we count Deathscythe H's design, which does sport a strong romantic death theme. But that's about as European as Duo gets.

So what if this is the creators being cheeky and including it as a nod to his initial protagonist status before it was given to Heero? Because if Duo was the protagonist, that would mean he would have been Relena's foil, who is of royal blood. And then we would have had the same juxtaposition as this:

Oh, look, another orphan wearing fancy clothing.

But back to Duo. The precise term for what Duo has emblazoned on his jacket is a wolf rampant. Well, two actually. Would that make them combatant..?

When they're mirrored like that, you expect them to hold a shield. Like these two unicorns here:

Do you recognize it? It's Romefeller's crest. Romefeller has two white unicorns rampant on a red background while the guy who fights them gets two golden wolves rampant on a black background.

Wait a minute. White, red, gold, black?

Really?

Someone must have had a field trip with the designs.

Back to the wolves. According to Wikiwand, wolves in heraldry "typically symbolised the rewards of perseverance in long sieges or hard industry." A long siege is definitely what the colonists were going through. Doubly so regarding Duo's crappy childhood.

So is Duo really connected to wolves?

Well, here's a fun fact.

The wolf (French: loup) is often used for canting (meaning heraldic bearings that represent the bearer's name in a visual pun or rebus) by families whose names feature some variant of the word 'lou/wolf'. Examples include Videlou, de Lou, Lupus, Wolferston, Wolseley, Lovett, Lowe, Lovell, Lupton or Wolfe.

Lowe. As in, Odin Lowe. This dude:

Heero got cheated out of fancy wolf crests.

And here you have it. Before Heero stole Deathscythe's parts for Wing, Duo had gotten Heero's wolf crest. Then again, they would have been wasted on Heero's green tank top anyway, so good for Duo.

Golden Riser

Thought it would be fun to use a gold coated kit for an actual gold frame. Used sharpies to tint the clear parts that went over the joints, and I had cut new stickers for the insides of them using a fancy sticker paper. Same sticker paper was incorporated into the sword. Also, I like to imagine it’s rifles have the capability to drain another suit of its energy/particles/etc, because the rifles themselves peg directly into Riser’s arms.

I hope Gundam ALC Encounter is another yuri Gundam...

During the fox's quest to help the owner of the plastic model shop, you get 6 plastic models to build:

The descriptions of the mechs themselves are references to the original Mobile Suit Gundam 0079. They also share names with Atma and bosses in DDS Avatar Tuner. In PS2 P4, you only got the green and red, and the other 4 were added in Golden.

The green is the Mass Produced Brahman (shares name with the final boss of DDS2). It being green and being called mass produced make it equivalent to Zeon's mass produced Zaku unit.

In the English version, Brahman was renamed to the MF-06S Brahman. This is a reference to the Zaku's model number, MS-06F, swapping the S and F.

The red is called Agni (also the name of Heat's Atma), and the description mentions that it's "three times faster". This is a fairly well-known Gundam meme about how Char Aznable had a red colored Zaku that is said to be three times faster.

The black is Harihara (Jenna's Atma) and the Japanese description says it has a hammer that can destroy a Zako in one hit. Zako is a reference to the Zaku (what the Brahman is based on) and how the Japanese word zako means trash and is used in anime/games/etc to mean "trash mob / weak mob / easy enemy / scrub", etc. The bit about the hammer that can destroy it one hit is a reference to an episode of Gundam where Amuro gets a stupid Gundam Hammer and actually destroys a Zaku in one hit lol.

The white is Dyaus (Cielo's Atma) and the description mentions that the arms are just for show though it doesn't have any arms as you can see on the model. This is a reference to the Zeong from Gundam and how Char comments about it not having legs.

The blue-ish one is Varna (Serph's Atma) and the Japanese description says it has a "This is no Zako" vibe to it. Again, Zako is a replacement word for the Zaku (see Harihara). The "This is no Zako" bit a reference to Ramba Ral who piloted a Gouf and the quote everyone associates with him is "This is no Zaku, boy, no Zaku."

The yellow is Prithvi (Argilla's Atma) and it uses double Heat Shields (Heat Tate). The "double heat [x]" arms are based on the Zakrello which is also yellow and uses double Heat Natas.

I feel like references to UC Gundam (especially the "red = three times faster" bit) are pretty common.

I went to Man with a Mission in Berlin and München the last couple of days and it was…well awesome is not good enough to describe it. And my English to bad. But I wanted to express it somewhere cause I’m so hard in fangirl Mode it’s not normal anymore 😂

He stands out like a sore thumb in this seedy bar with his blonde hair and tailored suit. It’s laughable really. For a man who spent the majority of his life in hiding he’s never been the subtle type. 

You make your way towards him, heels clicking with every step. You take a seat next to the man without sparing him a glance.

“I’ll have a whiskey,” you tell the bartender—a middle-aged man who has seen better days, “on the rocks.”  It would be rude not to sit at a bar without a drink and— you give the bastard a sideways glance— you doubt you could handle whatever he was gonna say sober.

The drink arrives, and you take the glass in your hands, swirling it to hear the ice cubes clink before taking a sip.

Bitter.

You set the drink down, biting back a frown as a burning settles in your throat. As always it's bitter. 

The whiskey shines like bronze against the warm lights. 

Alcohol has never been your strong suit and you’ve never preferred it unlike the man next to you. 

(But didn’t you learn to tolerate the bitter and burning just to be by his side on long nights? You’re such a fool.)

“So, what brings you here…” you pause trying to find the right name. Quattro was the name most familiar to you, it’s the name you knew and loved him by. It’s better to leave that one in the past. Casval felt too intimate, too vulnerable, two things you’re no longer privy to and Char, Char didn’t fit him, “...Char.” But you settle with that one anyway.

“I had business in the area,” He takes his sunglasses off, revealing the scar on his forehead and his frigid blue eyes,  “I thought I’d drop by.”

“Liar.” Good to know he’s hardly changed, “Von Braun’s strictly Feddie ground they might be incompetent but they wouldn’t have a problem getting rid of you once they know you’re here.” In fact, they probably already do. It’ll only be a matter of time before Londo Bell comes knocking. 

(You should probably expect a visit from Amuro later, maybe tomorrow. He’ll want updates on the new model.)

“So be honest,” You doubt he’ll ever be, having lived in lies for so long, “what are you here for.”

(You already know.)

“I already said so haven’t I?”

You look up at him, cool condensation droplets wetting your palms, anchoring you to reality. “I know but that’s not the full picture.” If he’d wanted to come for a visit he could’ve. He’s had more than enough chances back when you lived on the Sides. The governments there are more sympathetic to his…cause. “You want something from me.”

Calculating eyes hiding underneath a veil of longing meet yours. 

(Did you imagine the unfiltered affection that gaze once held?)

“I do.” He confirms. It kills whatever’s left of the old you.

“So, what is it?” You doubt you’d be much use to him anyway but that’s never been an issue to him. He’s always found a way to squeeze people dry. “I doubt I’d be much help but I’ll do you a favor.” For your own sake not his.

It seems your words have removed an invisible weight on Char’s shoulders at your near-immediate agreement. He opens his mouth to say something, maybe even thank you but you shoot it down with a poisonous look. 

Don’t make me regret this.

(You already do.)

He reaches inside his suit jacket. Tension builds up in your stomach as you brace yourself for the iron fist of a bullet. 

It doesn’t come.

What greets you instead is a black hard drive on his palm held out in front of you like a peace offering.

“What’–”

“It’s what you’ve been looking for,” he answers before you can finish your question.

You could only gape. He’s being genuine.

Why? It goes unsaid. This is too easy isn’t it? Whatever information this hard drive contained would bring him down. It’s what you’ve been looking for for months tirelessly sneaking around for any tidbit of information yet finding nearly nothing. It shouldn’t be this easy. 

Yet, here it is at the palm of your hand given to you by the man himself.

“Make good use of it,” He leans in close, “that’s all I ask.”

I don’t understand.

(You’ve never understood anything in the first place.)

Your lips brush against his, “That’s a tall order Casval…” You steal his breath, kissing him like you used to do. It lacks the sweetness you remember but the passion remains.  Pulling away you smile sardonically, “... but I wouldn’t expect anything else from you.”

You take your leave soon after, whiskey unfinished, hard drive in your hands and a burning in your heart.

This would be the last time you’ll see each other.
