Episode 6: To Earth
ok i acquired a version with the good 80s opening. hell yeah, this shit rules
now i'm a little nervous, since the original series started to drag a little once they reached earth. but on the other hand, amuro had killed many people by this time, and kamille hasn't even landed a hit, so obviously very different series
everyone is shitting on jerid. it's what he deserves
i love all the scifi tactics stuff, but i've never been able to follow these maps
kamille's trying to get quattro a new suit, how nice of him
ohh, so kamille will design the zeta gundam and that'll be what he actually ends up piloting by the end
how does kamille know he's a newtype? did he have to take a test for school?
kamille tossed that disc on purpose
the guy just jogging thru the halls of the ship is very funny
i feel like i've seen the face emma makes here before. maybe it got used as the thumbnail for a video, or someone used it as their smug anime girl avi
i like how you keep your rank even if you defect
gassing a colony is real bad stuff, but kamille listening in on the crew listening in on reccoa is hard to take seriously
god jerid sucks. i kinda love it
earthnoid is a dumb word
kamille: why was there a riot on colony 30? quattro: mans inhumanity to man is an inherent trait, one that we must constantly strive to overcome. that struggle is all that differentiates us from the beasts kamille: ....
oh, so it's only reccoa who's going down to earth?
preparing for the obligatory fight
kamille needs to stop being a creep and let reccoa do the thing
you think quattro ever thought he would pilot a gundam?
jerid tries to psych himself up. he does not succeed
the building tension as they approach is really well done
love quattro's little death star trench run
did tomino just have a really good vacation in brazil? why is that thededicated good guy zone?
is lmr a newtype?
that hizack should probably have just punched the bridge
oh shit it's the old boy! amuro seems to be living it up. he deserves it
how did jerid know it was kamille?
go kamille! kick him in the dick!
kamille's first actual victory! he cut off an arm!
i like how zeta's narrator gives the occasional poetic eulogy
i love how kamille and jerid are like a shitty bootleg version of amuro and char. neither of them have accomplished anything meaningful! this was the first episode that felt a little fight of the week, but the fights are all really good, and i know that’s the format, so i don't mind

Hey Puffy
I spent more than $US 1000 dollars to get to Glasgow. Much much more. If you weren’t as parochial you would understand travel. But you are not. Further you clearly have never leased a high end car. You are so unbelievably provincial I’m did, for a hot second consider not replying to your word vomit.
Once again thanks to all those who feel the need to share when I clearly do not follow the writing of someone lacking in credibility regarding her own position in the SC saga.
Google is your friend Puffy. Just google Avis Glasgow Airport and you will find the Mercedes I hired. It has a privacy screen. The redundancy of your arguments truly make me 🙄
“Finally, and not incidentally, I was given a heads up about the two of them more than 2-3 days *before* the Covfefe pics hit” Quote from the the diatribe from Just Make It a Double, that’s her Wordpress blog for those who feel the need to read her attempt at legitimacy.
Yeah right you got the heads up! From who? Deep throat? Stella? You lack any foresight or credibility. I myself didn’t know when I was going to post those photos. For this exact reason.
I travel at the very least every 3 months O/S. In either first or business class. So yeah your guess is way off. Just like everything else. I was with family. I have a grown son. He didn’t need Mama to celebrate Easter. In fact he was in Mexico with friends. That’s right more O/S travel. It’s what Australians do you fucking provincial moron. We travel 24 hours. Even just for a week’s holiday.
It clearly still stings that you weren’t in the loop AT ALL. You and all the “ queens” of this side of the fandom. I bet one of those feeding you info also told you ‘but she’s unknown”. Thanks @diggsydogsquee. Did you use the same play book with Puffy just as you did with SiS?
You know nothing about me. My travel or my association with SiS. It kills you and everyone else that SiS Brazil is able to work things out. And the fact that they are unshakable. It sucks to have no legitimate proof to contest my photos. Slam them all you want. It doesn’t change the fact that I KNOW So much. And not just from Glasgow. It’s all about connections. And you have none.
I’m not going to explain once again why I waited to post the photos. I know what you and others are trying to do.
Yes I dated and stamped the photos, incorrectly as it where. If it was the great conspiracy that you imply someone would have fixed it.
Unlike you I did have a moral compass and considered all the implications of posting the photos . I wasn’t the one who used her blog to post photos of a “pregnant” Caitriona. A female speculating another’s maternity status. Not bodying shaming or anything, right? And then you were remorseful. But only after someone posted on Pinterest hmm. Or were you warned off.
Me. Well once again I’m traveling. Yes that’s right. Leaving my home and spending way more than a $1000. Oh, I travelled through Scotland for a further 10 days. That may have factored into my delay in posting the photos. I was enjoying the original point of the trip. Seeing Scotland. And then I was in London...
Once again this type of bullshit is why I have not posted more.
Now as I’ve said before SC aren’t rich enough to afford me.

King Dinis of Portugal: The King who protected the Templars
Tumblr media
King Dinis was the 6th King of Portugal from 1279 to 1325, catching the horrible year of the “extinction” of the Knights Templar. He was the only King that actually protected the Templars, making Portugal the only country that didn’t arrest, torture and kill the Templars.
Why and How? Let’s go back to the beginning:
Tumblr media
The Military Order of the Temple, founded in France in the Champagne region in the year 1119 in the context of the holding of the Council of Naplus, is one of the best known military orders in medieval Christian Europe created to protect the pilgrimage movements to the Holy Places of the Middle Eastern Christianity under increasing descent from the power of Islamic confession. Military orders were born in the heart of the Middle Ages as a specialized version of the institutionalized Christian monastic experience under the institutional nomenclature called "Orders", whose most famous European Proto-Order and mother of all Western orders was the Order of St. Benedict.
Tumblr media
The Templars were first born in the dependence of the Canons of the Holy Sepulcher, rapidly becoming autonomous under the leadership of their first Grand Master, Huges de Payns.
The Templars, Freires of Christ or Freires of Solomon's Temple as they were also designated, associated with their religious consecration by the profession of the evangelical counsels of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience, the commitment to give their lives for the protection of the pilgrims and the defense of Christianity against the threat of Islamic power that afflicted Christians. The Order of the Temple, along with other military orders such as Santiago, Calatrava, Hospital, and Avis, cooperated with the armies of Christian kings and lords in the crusades against the so-called “infidel” in both the Middle East and as in the Iberian Peninsula, seeking to regain the territories of former Christian rule, however conquered by the Muslims.
Tumblr media
These military orders functioned as a kind of well-trained and highly motivated elite troop whose participation in battle often decided the meaning of victory.
The service rendered by these institutions to Christian monarchs, with particular emphasis on the Order of the Temple, was largely rewarded with the allocation of property, namely land, castles and other perks, which made them powerful and influential. In Portugal, in addition to the fundamental role played by the Order of the Temple, along with its counterparts, in the Christian reconquest and, consequently, in the formation of Portugal, played a relevant role in the settlement and control of the territory conquered to the Moors.
Due to a number of factors that still need full explanation, the Order of the Temple was, after almost two hundred years of existence, subjected to a tragic process that led to its extinction.
Tumblr media
The anti-Templar process was led by the King of France, Philip the Handsome (cousin of the Portuguese King Dinis), who got the collusion of the then Pope, Clement V, to hold the Temple Order guilty of deviations and serious misconduct.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In such a way that the French monarch succeeded, although today we are not sure whether with just evidence, to obtain from the Pope the extinction of this Order and even the condemnation of its most important leaders, culminating in the death of the fire of his last Grand Master, But the process had begun in 1308 with a papal bull sent to the Christian princes to clarify the Templar situation and to declare the need for their extinction, followed by another bull, issued in 1309, to order the arrest of the Templars,  and, finally, of the Bull Ad Providum, of March 1312, to decree the annexation of the significant assets of this Order and to transfer them to the Order of the Hospital.
Tumblr media
However, King Dinis, who then presided over the Portuguese throne, resisted accepting the papal directive that ordered the extinction of the Order of the Temple, aware of the very important service he had provided and continued to render in the defense and settlement of Portuguese territory.
In 1308 King Dinis received the bull, called Callidi Serpentis Vigil, requesting the arrest of the Portuguese Templars to be handed over the courts. King Dinis protects the Templars and does not arrest them and prepares a plan to protect their assets  and a continuity of the Templars in Portugal under a different name.
In 1317, King Dinis proposed the creation of a Lusitanian Monastic Military Order that have its headquarters in Castro Marim, Algarve, with the nominal aim of protecting Portugal from the Muslims. Pope John XXII agrees and in 1319 the Order of the Calvary of Our Lord Jesus Christ is born.
Tumblr media
The new order received the assets of the Templars as a result of King Dinis plan.
Tumblr media
The first master was Gil Martins. Moreover the new order was made up of ancient Templars and thus remained, in general, respectfully treated in Portugal. The last master of the Templars, Vasco Fernandes, finished his days as Commander of the Order of Christ. After 11 years King Dinis plan triumphed. In 1357 they moved to the Templars former headquarters: The Christ Convent in Tomar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the time their Master was Nuno Rodrigues that years later had the position to educated João, old Master of Aviz, future King João I of Portugal.
Tumblr media
Later, the Order of Christ will lead the promotion of one of the most important and significant companies in the entire history of Portugal: the voyages of discovery. Through the leadership of one of the most famous Grand Masters of the Order of Christ, Infante D. Henrique, (King Dinis great great grandson) Portugal stood in universal history as the first global empire of humanity and the pioneer of the construction of globalization.
Tumblr media
In the fifteenth century, the Order of Christ guarded the entire process of discovering new maritime paths and officially unknown territories and peoples, as a consequence of the extra-European expansionist policy promoted by the Avis Dynasty founded by King João I. After the conquest of Ceuta in 1415, the first officially discovered territory in the Atlantic was the Madeira Archipelago in 1419/20, followed by a series of voyages culminating in the navigation of the entire African coast, the passing of the fearsome Cape of Storms, the arrival of to India by sea (1498) and the official discovery of Brazil in 1500.
Tumblr media
And thanks to an intelligent King, The Knights Templars ruled the world form more than 2 centuries.

My alternative 91st Academy Awards
As always during 31 Days of Oscar, I partake in an annual fantasy. What would the Oscars look like if I stuffed the ballots - choosing every single nomination and choosing every single winner? It always would look a lot different. Fans of Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody and Vice? Come at me.
91st Academy Awards – February 24, 2019 Dolby Theatre – Hollywood, Los Angeles, California Host: None Broadcaster: ABC
Best Picture: ROMA
BlacKkKlansman, Sean McKittrick, Jason Blum, Raymond Mansfield, Jordan Peele, and Spike Lee (Focus)
Burning (KOR), Lee Joon-dong and Lee Chang-dong (Pinehouse Film/Now Film/NHK/CGV Arthouse/Well Go USA Entertainment)
Eighth Grade, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, Lila Yacoub, and Christopher Storer (A24)
The Favourite, Ceci Dempsey, Ed Guiney, Lee Magiday, and Yorgos Lanthimos (Fox Searchlight)
Mission: Impossible – Fallout, J.J. Abrams, Tom Cruise, Christopher McQuarrie, and Jake Myers (Paramount)
Roma (MEX), Alfonso Cuarón, Gabriela Rodriguez, and Nicolas Celis (Netflix)
Shoplifters (JPN), Matsuzaki Kaoru, Yose Akihiko, and Taguchi Hijiri (AOI Promotion/Fuji TV/GAGA/Magnolia Pictures)
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Avi Arad, Ami Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Christina Steinberg (Columbia)
A Star Is Born, Bill Gerber, Jon Peters, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips, and Lynette Howell Taylor (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer/Warner Bros.)
Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, Morgan Neville, Caryn Capotosto, and Nicholas Ma (Focus)
Wholesale changes in this category compared to real life. The best three films of 2018, to me, were Burning, Roma, and Shoplifters -- none of these were in the English language. Films I tossed for Best Picture were Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book, and Vice. I don’t think any of those four films have any business being in this category. In their place are the likes of Eighth Grade, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, and one of the most technically marvelous action films in decades in Mission: Impossible -- Fallout. Yes, an M:I film (superb editing, setpieces, and audacious style that finally wakes the franchise up).
But I’m going for an unexciting pick according to some with Roma. To use an oxymoron, it is an intimate epic -- one crafted beautifully, daring to comment on relations between ethnicities and the sexes at a certain time in Mexico.
Best Director
Lee Chang-dong, Burning
Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Hirokazu Koreeda, Shoplifters
Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Paul Schrader, First Reformed
If you’re scratching your head, yes... Paul Schrader was nominated for Director in my ceremony, but First Reformed is nowhere to be found in Picture. I tend to do this for one Best Director nominee every year.
Best Actor
Christian Bale, Vice
Ryan Gosling, First Man
Ethan Hawke, First Reformed
Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
Yoo Ah-in, Burning
The real-life Best Actor category this year is the most dire slate in a while. So here is your palate cleanser.
Best Actress
Yalitza Aparicio, Roma
Glenn Close, The Wife
Olivia Colman, The Favourite
Elsie Fisher, Eighth Grade
Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born
It is not so much acting, as inhabiting. And, as a non-professional actress, Yalitza Aparicio has it. And I believe that, in my alternate Oscar universe (yes, I’ve drawn up and thought about it for many ceremonies past... I’ll reveal those some day), Aparicio would be the first indigenous woman to be awarded an acting Oscar.
Best Supporting Actor
Mahershala Ali, Green Book
Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Josh Hamilton, Eighth Grade
Tim Blake Nelson, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Steven Yeun, Burning
Ali is good, don’t get me wrong. But, compared to the movie Moonlight and his performance in it, it looks like he is about to get a second Oscar for a far worse movie and a lesser role. Ali is fourth or fifth in this lineup for me. Grant is fantastic in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Best Supporting Actress
Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk
Emma Stone, The Favourite
Marina de Tavira, Roma
Rachel Weisz, The Favourite
Michelle Yeoh, Crazy Rich Asians
This comes down to the fact I couldn’t separate Stone and Weisz’s performances in their saucy movie. Nor could I find the argument to give de Tavira or Yeoh the Oscar. This is a bit of a default choice, I hate to say.
Best Adapted Screenplay
Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Kevin Willmott, and Spike Lee, BlacKkKlansman
Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Barry Jenkins, If Beale Street Could Talk
Debra Granik and Anne Rosellini, Leave No Trace
Spike Lee would have at least one or two Oscars in my alternative universe by this point! The difference between the screenplays for BlacKkKlansman and Can You Ever Forgive Me? is far slighter than you think.
Best Original Screenplay
Bo Burnham, Eighth Grade
Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara, The Favourite
Paul Schrader, First Reformed
Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Hirokazu Koreeda, Shoplifters
Not even a contest if you asked me. This category is something else if I consider The Favourite and Roma bringing up the rear. But Koreeda’s drama about a found family that does what they can to survive is the culmination of what he has done in his career thus far. This is his Oscar.
Best Animated Feature
Incredibles 2 (Pixar/Walt Disney)
Night is Short, Walk On Girl, Japan (GKIDS/Toho Company)
Ruben Brandt, Collector, Hungary (Mozinet/Sony Pictures Classics)
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Columbia)
Tito and the Birds, Brazil (Bits Produções/Shout! Factory)
Longtime followers know that I have unorthodox opinions about animated features. The only Animated Feature Oscar I’ve handed to Pixar/Walt Disney Animation Studios since beginning this tradition in 2013 was for Inside Out. I thought Ralph Breaks the Internet was a painful addition to the Disney animated canon, so it is not here. Nor is Wes Anderson’s culturally insensitive Isle of Dogs or Mamoru Hosoda’s sloppy Mirai. At the end of the day? No boat-rocking this time, except in some of the other nominees.
Best Documentary Feature
Free Solo (National Geographic)
Hale County This Morning, This Evening (The Cinema Guild)
Minding the Gap (ITVS/Kartemquin Films/Hulu/Magnolia Pictures)
Three Identical Strangers (CNN/Channel 4/Neon)
Won’t You Be My Neighbor? (Focus)
Shoulda been nominated! Shoulda won! But in the spirit of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, these are all great documentaries. Minding the Gap is a close #2.
Best Foreign Language Film
Burning, South Korea
Capernaum, Lebanon
Cold War, Poland
Roma, Mexico
Shoplifters, Japan
Best Cinematography
Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Caleb Deschanel, Never Look Away (GER)
Rob Hardy, Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Matthew Libatique, A Star Is Born
Łukasz Żal, Cold War
Best Film Editing
Barry Alexander Brown, BlacKkKlansman
Jay Cassidy, A Star Is Born
Tom Cross, First Man
Eddie Hamilton, Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Yorgos Mavropsaridis, The Favourite
Best Original Musical*
Julia Michels, A Star Is Born
Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, Mary Poppins Returns
Sia, Greg Kurstin, Scott Walker, and Margaret Yen, Vox Lux
*Best Original Musical – known previously as several other names – exists in the Academy’s rulebooks, but requires activation from the Academy’s music branch. To qualify, a film must have no fewer than five original songs. This category was last activated when Prince won for Purple Rain (1984).
Best Original Score
Michael Giacchino, Incredibles 2
Justin Hurwitz, First Man
John Powell, Solo
Alan Silvestri, Ready Player One
Brian Tyler, Crazy Rich Asians
The Star Wars universe is in good musical hands when John Williams leaves after Episode IX!
Best Original Song
“All the Stars”, music by Kendrick Lamar, Sounwave, and Anthony Tiffith, lyrics by Lamar, SZA, and Tiffith, Black Panther
“Nowhere to Go but Up”, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, Mary Poppins Returns
“The Place Where Lost Things Go”, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, Mary Poppins Returns
“Shallow”, music and lyrics by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt, A Star Is Born
“When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings”, music and lyrics by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Best Costume Design
Alexander Byrne, Mary Queen of Scots
Ruth E. Carter, Black Panther
Sandy Powell, The Favourite
Sandy Powell, Mary Poppins Returns
Mary E. Vogt, Crazy Rich Asians
Best Makeup and Hairstyling
Cindy Harlow and Camille Friend, Black Panther
Göran Lundström and Pamela Goldammer, Border (SWE)
Jenny Shircore, Marc Pilcher, and Jessica Brooks, Mary Queen of Scots
Amanda Knight and Lisa Tomblin, Solo
Greg Cannom, Kate Biscoe, and Patricia Dehaney, Vice
Best Production Design
Hannah Beachler, Black Panther
Nelson Coates, Crazy Rich Asians
Fiona Crombie, The Favourite
Nathan Crowley, First Man
John Myhre, Mary Poppins Returns
Best Sound Editing
Benjamin A. Burt and Steve Boeddeker, Black Panther
Ai-Ling Lee and Mildred Iatrou Morgan, First Man
James Mather, Victoria Freund, and Nina Norek, Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Ethan Van der Ryn and Erik Aadahl, A Quiet Place

What you wrote about Mitch was lovely. It’s nice to see him so happy these days. His voice is gorgeous and so incredibly impressive. I’m always so blown away by him even though I know he’ll be perfection!! Have you gotten the chance to meet him? Have you been to any ptx shows? Yep, a fan since the sing off! My friend was obsessed with the show and got me hooked. She didn’t even like ptx on the show but I was rooting for them the moment I first saw them. (8/?)
The first show we went to was one of their very first shows!!! It’s wild thinking about that now and how far they’ve come. My friend was beyond obsessed with Avi and got to be chair girl at one of the shows. When he picked her we both started crying and I was sobbing so hard I was having a hard time taking a video lmao. After that show my friend asked Avi for his number! And he gave it to her! Omfg you can tell that’s how much things have change and how long ago this was. (9/?)
She got too nervous to text him and never did!!! She’s married now though so nothing ever happened with that but it’s weird to think about. If someone asked for Avi’s number now he’d be like “um no” lol. I haven’t been to a ptx show in a while. I have yet to see them live with Matt! I so badly wanted to go to their Christmas tour this year but work was too hectic for me to take time off. I really hope they do a Christmas tour next year because I need to see a Christmas show in person!!! (10/?)
i have never! i wish, they seem so great live and i love concerts in genral. they never came to brazil and the one time i went to the us they were not on tour so i didn’t get a chance to see them, so it’s a long distance love
i had i dream about mitch last week tho. i was sad and he gave me a hug and said “honey we need to take care of you”. dream mitch is very kind and a great hugger. (also i was dressed like velma from scooby doo so there’s that)
i only heard about the sing off after i got into ptx and idk how to react to it because it’s so obviously a product of its time. we really dressed like that, it’s crazy lol
omg thats so nice??? i love chair girls videos. they are equal parts really funny and really uncomfortable to watch, i don’t think i would be brave enough to go on stage but everyone seems like they are having so much fun
i don’t think i would text him either lol. thats intimidating! and it is crazy to think about because it would never happen now a days. thats really cool tho, that you got so see them on the very beginning
same! i want to go to one of their christmas tours so bad. it seems really fun and kind of intimate? idk, looks chill, and their christmas music is just so great

Competitive Landscape of the Global Av Market
Competitive Landscape of the Global Av Market
The global KVM and other AV markets are expected to witness substantial growth in the forecast period (2021 2021) mainly due to increasing usage of KVM and PRO AV systems by enterprises around the world. In addition, the demand for KVM services is also growing significantly within the commercial segment due to its cost effectiveness and the high level of functionality. KVM services have gained a high level of popularity within the commercial segment due to its inherent value proposition i.e.
Av Market players are continually making innovative product types to compete with each other. Many manufacturing industries prefer av  market as a platform for innovative product development and deployment. Due to this competitive advantage, manufacturers are offering different product types and services at competitive prices to gain a larger market share. Moreover, a market can be considered as a platform for product innovation and deployment without incurring much capital expenditure. Since a market has a large scope and offers a wide array of choice to manufacturers, it is predicted that the industry will continue to expand in the coming years.
Recent KPMI Trends analysis report indicates that the global ad market will expand into the following regions/ continents: Central Asia, Middle East, Northern India, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, Africa, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Belgium. The United States, United Kingdom and Australia are still anticipating to expand their share of the global ad market during the coming years. The analysis also indicates that there is a possibility of market penetration in the following regions/ continents through the help of traditional carriers viz. Sixt, Skyscanner and carriers such as Osprey.
However, the av market size can only be estimated by conducting the above mentioned South Africa Study on a country-wise basis. The above South Africa Study indicates that there is a high potential for growth in the tourism industry in Cape Town given the fact that visitors from North America, Europe and Japan visit South Africa mainly for white goods. The number of visitors inbound to South Africa from the European countries is increasing day by day due to the favorable climatic conditions. The demand inbound from the Asian countries is also growing at a rapid rate due to the favorable environment in China. Given the high potential for market growth in terms of tourism and other products, the demand from abroad is also increasing at a fast rate.
Based on the KPMI Trends analysis, the total number of flights to South Africa from across the world is expected to grow at a faster rate in the coming years. This result is primarily influenced by an acquisition and spending on av supplies by the foreign airlines. The analysis also notes that despite the increase in flights, the total revenue earned by airlines is decreasing as the overall inflation and fuel costs are rising. In addition, the number of seats available on each flight is reducing day by day due to overcrowding and increasing operational cost.
It is clear from the above KPI Trends that the revenues earned by airline companies is declining with time. The major cause behind this decline is av market size constraining the growth potential of the airlines. To overcome this problem, the government needs to provide policy interventions that will improve the overall market conditions. Based on the forecast, it is estimated that there are at least five forces that are driving the market conditions, which are: competition, consolidation, value added taxes, government support and market dynamics.
Based on the above competitive landscape analysis, it is predicted that the competitive landscape of the ad market will continue to deteriorate over the years. The major cause behind this is av market size constraining the growth rate of the airlines. The above KPI Trends analysis also notes that in the past, there were three major airlines that dominated the entire ad market, but now only two major airlines remain with significant share in the overall ad market. Due to the increasing competitive pressure, the number of airlines is on the decreasing trend year after year. To overcome this, the Government must provide policy interventions that will stabilize the ad market to ensure the growth rate of the industry. Based on the forecast, it is estimated that there are at least five forces that are driving the market conditions, which are: competition, consolidation, value added taxes and government support.
With the above overview on the competitive landscape, it is estimated that the overall global av market size will continue to deteriorate over the years because the market will become too small to sustain the growth rate of the industry. However, a market will start contracting slowly due to increasing competition from global airlines in developed nations. This will result in increasing pressure on the overall airlines to provide additional services, which will force the smaller carriers to either reduce prices or go out of business. In order to provide a competitive advantage to the smaller carriers, the Government must provide additional incentives and focus on policy interventions that will stabilize the industry.

What the U.K. Election Result Means for Global Business
Tumblr media
Just out: The Daily has a special episode on Senator Elizabeth Warren in which Andrew helps tell the story of her emergence as a political force after the financial crisis. Take a listen. (Want this by email? Sign up here.)
Tories’ landslide win clears the course for Brexit
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party won a commanding majority in Britain’s Parliament yesterday, a victory that paves the way for Britain’s exit from the European Union next year, write the NYT’s Mark Landler and Stephen Castle. It was the party’s largest win since Margaret Thatcher captured a third term in 1987. Mr. Johnson said the vote gave him “a powerful new mandate to get Brexit done,” a position that signals a profound change in the global trading system, reports the NYT’s Peter Goodman. “For more than seven decades, the global powers that be operated on the assumption that greater economic integration amounts to historical progress,” Mr. Goodman writes. “But that era is over.” The prime minister must now decide how to pull Britain out of the E.U. If the country wants access to the bloc’s single market, it will have to give up control in some areas, but hard-liners are likely to push for a clean break, Bloomberg reports.
Trump approves initial trade deal with China
The U.S. has settled on final terms of a partial trade deal with China, which could ease tensions days before new tariffs are set to take effect, write the NYT’s Ana Swanson, Alan Rappeport and Keith Bradsher. President Trump agreed to reduce the tariffs he has placed on $360 billion of Chinese goods in return for a commitment from Beijing to buy American agricultural products, the reporters write, citing unnamed sources. “The president is expected to announce that he will delay or cancel tariffs on $160 billion of consumer products from China that are scheduled to go into effect on Sunday,” they write. The deal is likely to bring relief, but it also raises questions for farmers and agriculture traders, who are eager for more details, Bloomberg reports: “The more than yearlong tariff spat between the two nations weighed on commodity prices and upended global crop shipments, benefiting Brazil as an alternative supplier.” The partial resolution to the trade war raises a question: Was it worth it? “There is nothing in this tentative deal that wouldn’t have existed in the absence of the past two years of wrangling,” David Fickling writes for Bloomberg Opinion. More trade news: The White House is reaching out to Republicans who may rebel against the new trade agreement with Canada and Mexico.
U.S. weighs blocking Facebook from merging its apps
The Federal Trade Commission is considering seeking a preliminary injunction against Facebook to prevent the social media platform from integrating several of its messaging services. The action could rest on the grounds that Facebook’s policies directing that integration are anticompetitive, the WSJ writes, citing unnamed sources. Federal officials worry that knitting together Facebook services like WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger would prevent any future breakup of the company in an antitrust case. Facebook bought Instagram and WhatsApp as part of a series of “defensive acquisitions” to protect its position in the social media market, leading antitrust academics have said. Yet seeking an injunction of this kind would be unusual for a federal antitrust agency, because regulators rarely try to unwind mergers that have been completed, Cecilia Kang and Mike Isaac of the NYT write.
Methane emissions in West Texas, as seen by camera
Methane, a potent greenhouse gas, is loosely regulated, difficult to detect and rising sharply. If a plan by the Trump administration succeeds, oil companies could be freed from requirements that they install technology to detect and fix methane leaks from oil and gas facilities, report Jonah M. Kessel and Hiroko Tabuchi of the NYT. A gas processing plant in West Texas is experiencing major releases of methane, aerial and on-the-ground research shows. The plant is run buy DCP Pegasus, which is partly owned by Phillips 66. The gas is invisible to the naked eye, so the reporters used a highly specialized infrared camera to photograph the releases — and gathered images of workers walking through the clouds unprotected. The methane is escaping from equipment that is intended to burn it off. Levels of the gas have soared since 2007, for reasons that are mostly not understood, but natural gas fracking is a major suspect. Fossil fuel companies made contact with the Trump administration in 2017 to argue for a rollback of methane emissions rules, and have held repeated meetings with federal officials. The industry also wants looser rules on these unintended or “fugitive” emissions. • A DCP spokeswoman said she had many questions regarding the accuracy of the assessment and assumptions, but did not comment further. Phillips 66 declined to comment.
Woman who accused JD.com founder of rape is targeted online
When Liu Jingyao was a student at the University of Minnesota in 2018, she said, the billionaire founder of one of China’s largest companies, JD.com, followed her to her apartment and raped her. She has filed suit against the businessman, Richard Liu (the two are not related), in Minnesota civil court, seeking damages of $50,000. Prosecutors declined to pursue a case against Mr. Liu, who has denied the accusations; they did not meet with Ms. Liu. But hers is not a typical #MeToo story, writes the NYT’s Li Yuan in Ms. Liu’s first interview with an English-language publication. Since then, Ms. Liu has become the target of a level of vitriol on the Chinese internet, 800 million strong, that may be difficult for Westernersto grasp. The case is attracting outsize attention because Ms. Liu is accusing one of the country’s most powerful men of behavior that has long been ignored. “Sexual harassment and assault are widespread in China, and elites face little scrutiny. Self-made tech tycoons are widely admired celebrities,” Ms. Yuan writes. Online accusations of sexual misconduct were one of the most heavily censored topics in 2018 on WeChat, China’s biggest social-media platform, according to WeChatscope, a research project at the University of Hong Kong. Some WeChat accounts that voiced support for Ms. Liu were deleted. WeChat is owned by Tencent, which is also the biggest shareholder of JD.com.
Revolving door
Andy Dunn, the founder of Bonobos, is leaving Walmart, roughly two years after the retail giant acquired the online apparel retailer.
