Some fantastical and (mostly queer) books to read for Hispanic Heritage Month!
I've read most of these, Gods of Jade and Shadow and The Name Bearer are on my TBR and I've heard really good things about them. The Forgotten Lyric and Spellbound are in my top five reads this year, and I really enjoyed The Wicked Bargain and All Out.

I was reading Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (good book) and noticed this bit about "true names" and how everyone has multiple names that are "true names" is very similar to the Friends at the Table: Twilight Mirage bit that does the rounds on here all the time where Austin talks about true names

Fate is a force more powerful than gods, a fact they resent, since mortals are often given more leeway and may be able to navigate its current.

"They were quiet and they were foolish, both of them, thinking they were treading with any delicacy, and if they somehow moderated their voices they'd stop the tide of emotion. The things you name do grow in power, but others that are not ever whispered claw at one's heart anyway, rip it to shreds even if a syllable does not escape the lips."

The stars, when traced by the human eye, formed constellations, and the flowers, linked together, spoke to her. They said, "My love."
