So due to having a new focus on hazbin because of Harlem sunset, and because of the disaster of the newest US election, I wish to ask for literally any fic recommendations with fluff in them or happy endings, please? I will take literally anything.

I feel that so much (ಥ﹏ಥ) fuck anyone that voted for Trump 🖕as if things weren't bad enough, now we have to deal with that fucker in office again.

I was scrolling through my bookmarks and it wasn't until I went searching for happy, fluffy fics that I realized how many dark, explicit fics I've saved.

You've Got a Face for Radio by ckret2

An amazing character study of Alastor and his asexuality. Seriously, one of my favorite fics. If anyone wants a super in-depth view of asexuality (or, at least a version of it, as it is a spectrum), then I highly recommend this fic. It was written before the show, so its based on the pilot's iterations of the characters, but their Alastor voice in general is so fucking good. 10/10.

The Radio Demon wears Prada by Godlizza

Alastor becomes Velvette's muse and they bond through fashion. The Alastor & Velvette besties fic I never knew I needed.

A completed chapter work all about Dan and Herbert trying to manage a life in suburbia, tired of running from town to town and wanting to make a more permanent start in their new home. This work features a whole assortment of side characters that are so well developed and make this fic so much more than a simple drabble. It has a super engaging plot, and a lot of amazing married couple Dan + Herbert moments that made me melt.

Like Real People Do - xXHacksawXx

A little one shot that takes place in the aftermath of Bride. It's a really heartwarming hurt/comfort fic in which Herbert is begging Dan not to leave him. It's also each of them realizing that somewhere at some point, without realizing they could never really be without each other.

There'll be Days When I'll Stray (I May Appear to be Constantly Out of Reach) - HATECADILLAC

Another one shot, this one taking place in the aftermath of Dan and Herbert having sex for the first time. Takes place during the first film and is simply the conversion they have afterwards, wrapped within everything else that they want to say, but won't. Features trans Herbert and beautiful illusions to the music of Depeche Mode. Definitely more than worth the read.

A massive collection of one shots between Dan and Herbert!! These are all pretty short so if you are looking for a quick read, I completely recommend this. Perfect if you are looking for some fluff between these two idiots.

probably a dead tie between The Catacomb Killer and the Lighthouse series! (jay I know you plan on playing DE at some point so I'm giving no spoilers)

For the former, Catacomb was a fun challenge because it was the first time in years that I wrote a proper case fic. it was also canon-compliant and extremely detail-oriented (i probably had a couple hundred screenshots saved from the game for lore tidbits). Alternating POV between [REDACTED PROTAGONIST NAME] and Kim in the style of the game - [REDACTED PROTAGONIST NAME] typically has 24 'Voices' or impulses (Logic, Authority, Encyclopedia, Volition etc) guiding him, which led to me creating Kim's own 24-Voice thought cabinet, writing an appendix for it, and providing a lore-appropriate reason for why Kim would be thinking in that way. I'm really proud of how it turned out, in the end.

Lighthouse series .... my baby. my love. my darling. typically I don't go for stories that erase grief and bring people back from the dead, but I really love playing with the concept of people being at the total mercy of gods ... but also, that the gods don't understand them in return, and sometimes these playtoys are more than they bargained for. also allows me to explore a ton of different headcanons for Arthur's ghosts, and delving into Arthur's feelings of guilt/responsibility and John's desire to live a mortal life again. the series in total is absolutely the longest thing I've written and I hold it near and dear to my heart.

12. favorite character to write about this year

tough question! I'm leaning towards John Doe from Malevolent, if only because exploring his how would a former god navigate humanity angle has been really interesting (also biasing, because he's the one I've written most recently!). Runners-up go to Herbert West (fundamentally a Bad Person) and Jon Sims (got to explore his grief a lot this year, that was fun)
