So. Malleus formally grants Silver and Sebek their Knighthood. Sebek is "The Knight of Lightning" and Silver is "The Knight of Dreams". Their armors are their physical rewards, and they are worth so much that they basically set the two up for life.

But... Rather than display it to gather dust, Silver requested that he'd rather donate it to the people who helped them, and will help them in the future. So Silver's armor is split into two, given to Sage Island and the Island of Woe.

Silver said the title of Knight is enough for him, but Malleus said it wasn't enough for him. Malleus encouraged him to think of another gift, because it's his birthday and he wants to give his baby brother a present.

So... Silver asks... That if it's not too much. That he knows it's selfish of him because he's the son of Briar Valley's enemy... But...

Could he inherit the name "Vanrouge" instead?

Silver: "Then I would truly be, my father's son."

Thinking about karen, who despite her dedication and years of commitment to building their family, once admitted to hen that there was a part of her that would always fear eva coming back and taking her wife and son away from her. i was in fact certain they were getting them out before 8x01 but i am even more certain after. and that's not even taking into account any interviews. just based purely on the episode alone. there was a very deliberate choice in this episode to focus on the buck and eddie of it all even with a whole bee emergency constantly going on around them. every single scene they had together involved each other in a significant way. it's like there was a hyperfocus on their dynamic and how absolutely intrinsic it is to their lives and how they function. how in perfect sync they are. how they know each other upside down and inside out. how they are always there for each other regardless of anything else they have going on. how they ground each other. how they trust each other implicitly because they know they have each other's backs at every single turn. and well. how tommy's presence felt deliberately odd-man-out on the fringes of it all. GOD THEY'RE GETTING THEM OUT.

OH MY GOD the horror peeta mustve felt when his name was called out for the reaping and none of his brothers volunteered for him when just mere moments before he watched as katniss volunteered for her sister. none of his brothers chose to keep him alive DESPITE THE FACT THAT 1.) peeta’s older brother - the second mellark son - was old enough to volunteer at the games and 2.) he was stronger than peeta. according to katniss, he won first place in a school wrestling match. peeta came in second. MEANING THIS MELLARK BROTHER HAD HIGHER CHANCES OF WINNING THAN PEETA since physical strength is v important but no. he chose to let his brother go

AND THEN we find out that haymitch chose to keep katniss alive in the 74th hunger games and not peeta. even tho haymitch liked peeta more than katniss. smth similar happens in catching fire where they rescue katniss - AND SEVERAL OTHER TRIBUTES - which results in peeta getting captured by the capitol.

time and time again people have chosen to let peeta go. either because hes not as capable as the others or hes just. Not a priority.

then comes the end of mockingjay where katniss chooses peeta over gale. its an obvious choice of course, considering that gale accidentally got prim killed. BUT that doesnt change the fact that someone finally chose peeta. not as some backup option but as a permanent choice. katniss chose peeta and was determined to NOT let him go.
