Ahh thank you! I've participated three times in Erised and unfortunately, this year will be my last time for that particular fest, but I am glad you are looking forward to it! There's another fest I participated in as well that will get revealed in the next couple weeks. If you are interested in my past fest fics, I'll link them.

-Dear Cousin, Love Regulus [Harry/Draco Big Bang 2018] As the sole Malfoy heir, Draco understood that his path was set long before his birth; who to be, how to act and what his choices should be. What he had not counted on was the power of outside influences. Letters from his deceased cousin caused him to realize that he did have choices, starting with the choice to be someone else, to be who he wanted to be. The road to self-discovery was difficult and navigating that path in the shadow of Harry Potter was its own challenge but maybe, just maybe, his friends would help him along the way. And he would owe it all to Regulus Black.

-Ardour of Karma [H/D Erised 2019] “Malfoy knows something is going on with you and unless you both want to go back to fighting and death glares, you should fix it.”

“How do I do that? Just waltz up to him and say, ‘I know I’ve been a prat but your scent makes my dick swell. How’s your day?’”

“Mind repeating that?”

The familiar drawl had Harry’s throat clamming up as his blood ran cold. Oh no.

-The Forsaken [Harry/Draco OwlPost 2019] When Draco imagined his future as a child he thought he'd be a Potion Master, get married and maybe have a kid. But the reality was he was a retired Assassin, bitten by a Vampire and mated to a reckless, idiotic, foolish ex-Auror now turned Veela—Harry Potter.

-Borrowing Courage [H/D Erised 2018] After years of being a Magical Artist and painting for other people, Draco decides it’s time to paint for himself for once. The secrets pile up as he tries to unravel the mystery of his relatives but the only thing he didn’t count on was having to go to Potter of all people for approval.

-Save a Horse, Ride a Malfoy [HP Kinkfest 2020] Riddles are woven throughout life, some never answered and many lost in frustration. Whatever riddle it was that defined what Harry and Draco had was a mess of a riddle that worked for them, despite what everyone else thought, even if there was no answer—yet. Sex was another riddle, only that was one they had solved many, many times over. 

-Still Standing [H/D Fan Fair 2019] Not many know the evil origins of a Philosopher's Stone. When Draco discovers that the Goblins found one and kept it, he'll stop at nothing to see it taken care of. Even if that means having to deal with Gringotts' very own resident twat: Harry Potter.

-Augury Forecast [HP Drizzle Fest 2018] Draco had always known that teaching at Hogwarts would be an experience, he just didn’t think that meant a flash flood in the kitchens, a windstorm in the Great Hall, or a sandstorm in the Quidditch pitch. Months of extreme weather would grate on anyone’s nerves, but to have Potter, the ever annoying Divination Professor, around every corner was even worse. So much for a quiet life at Hogwarts.

-Teach Me [HP Contest Fest 2018] "If you can’t learn Occlumency, then you can’t become an Auror.”

No. All of this couldn’t be for nothing. Harry hadn’t spent so much time proving himself, proving that he was more than just a famous name for all of this to go to shite. “This can’t be the end.”

"I have someone in mind that could teach you if you are willing, but I can't guarantee he will help, especially considering your... past." 

"You don't mean Malfoy, do you?"

-Worth Betting On [HP Joggers Fest 2018] The easy way Malfoy breezed into the arena in an unprofessional attire—grey joggers that outlined far too much, and a white dress shirt open with nothing underneath—which showed off his chest, his sweaty sweaty chest—had Harry sitting up straighter. It wasn't unusual to see Malfoy in such a state of undress, it was a signature move that he refused to change.  

Not that Harry wanted him to change. 

 Or the one where Draco is a professional Duelist, and Harry can't stay away from the matches.

since i watched luca guadagnino's suspiria (2018) a couple weeks ago, and loved it, i found out that dario argento actually created a trilogy after the success of the first suspiria in 1977, and named it the three mothers trilogy. the three mothers were 3 witches, and each mother/witch had their own movie. it was actually kind of an intriguing idea, so i rewatched the first 'suspiria' again, then his 2nd movie 'inferno' and i just finished the trilogy tonight with 'mother of tears'. bottom line is this trilogy is pretty terrible lol... story-wise at least. lol

like i really liked agento's suspiria, cause it was a sort of a technicolor nightmare. argento plays with lighting and color in an interesting way that pulls you thru a story - a story that is pretty light, and plot points that do not make alot of sense, but it doesnt really feel that important cause of the sort of dreaminess of the movie. it just all kinda works together. if without the lighting and color and score, suspiria would just not work... at all i think.

the problem i think with making a trilogy out of a movie where its style over plot, is you have to quickly make a coherent movie afterwards, and 'inferno' is as coherent as 'suspiria' is. which is not much at all lol its kinda obvious plotting is not really argento's strong suite lol but i have to say that visually 'inferno' is just about as visually beautiful as 'suspiria'. it uses color and lighting as effectively. but 'inferno' does not have the score from the band goblin, like suspiria does, and that seriously is to its detriment. it really shows what a good score can do for a movie.

so eventho inferno wasnt as good as the 1st one, it wasnt awful. now 'mother of tears' is awful. completely head scratching nonsensical weirdness. and not really in a good way. there were some interesting parts, but it was not shot with the visual flair for color and lighting as the first 2, or a score that stood out to me like the goblin score, so you kinda have the worst of it all. lol boring sort of normal lighting, and an illogical story, where youre like 'what?' & a kinda forgettable score. for most of the movie the characters motivations feel so scripted, like the only reason this is happening is cause it needs to happen for the next thing in the script to happen. it just kinda feels like a bunch of scenes tied together, trying to get to the end. and the end movie and end to this trilogy was also very dumb and anti-climactic.

also and this is just something i found hilarious, is that the 3 witches in the movies are supposed to be ancient beings, who come back to wreck havoc, and the witch in 'mother of tears' has such fake silicon-y boobs. like even I could tell. lol it was just a little distracting lol

so overall, suspiria 1977 was kind of lightning in a bottle where all the pieces work together - very well. color, lighting, score really elevated a fairly weak script. tbh, i really think the score is what really takes it to another place. cause inferno is pretty close to suspiria in color and lighting and story, but without that goblin score it just falls flat.

i dont know if i recommend the three mothers trilogy, but you should def see both suspiria movies, the 1977 & 2018 "remake".

GOBLIN is the final pre-debut project by KQ trainee, Y/N, also known as KQ Gal. the pre-debut single was released on APRIL 2, 2018 on YOUTUBE. the song was written by y/n herself and was produced with the help of producer team, EDENARY. the song received a music video which is currently the only place you can listen to the song. many IXLUVS have been begging for a re-release of the song, but nothing has come from it yet.

a week after the release of Goblin, KQ Entertainment announced that y/n would be making her official debut in early JUNE. this left fans excited since they have been waiting for her debut since y/n's appearance on PRODUCE 101.

KWON GYEONG, creative director at KQ, revealed that the story the music video told was "just the beginning of the lore for KQ Gal."

– ERA NOTES.

y/n helped direct the music video which was filmed in about seven hours in LA where she had been training at the time.

a theory linked to the music video is that y/n is experiencing a time loop instead of breaking out of it, she is choosing to relive the same day until she meets 'the dark presence' at the end of the music video which is when she accepts the chance to leave the time loop.

many IXLUVS believe that the person at the end of the music video who extends his hand out to y/n is HONGJOONG, who was also a trainee at the time of filming.

y/n trended on twitter after the release of the music video and song with many praising her vocals and acting.

y/n also did a few street performances in LA, SEOUL, and BUSAN with this song and it’s notably the only time she has performed the song.

Let's start with Alice

The first formal attire we have for Alice is for the Celestial Ball, which you can see HERE. As for why did she go for that look... Andre. You can find the fic that goes with it HERE.

Her second formal attire (which is technically the first one I wrote about back in 2018) is for a reception done in her honour by the Egyptian Ministry of Magic. You can see it HERE and find the fic HERE. Again, Andre picked it out.

Now, Astraea!

It's as if my obsession with ball scenes served me well, as I actually commissioned some time ago a picture of Astraea in the formal dress she wore for the Christmas ball in her 6th year (we're not going to call it the Yule ball, as that always starts a debate).

As a bonus, here's a little scene I imagined to go with it:

Astraea had managed to escape Hector Fawley's company, craving some fresh air after enduring the incessant solipsism of his discourse. In the pursuit of tranquillity and a respite from the hubbub, she directed her steps towards the gardens adjacent to the Great Hall, leaving the clamour of the ball behind the wooden doors. While Hector's conversation had bored her to tears, Astraea found herself unable to suppress a smile upon the recollection of Sebastian. His countenance, riddled with vexation whenever she indulged in a dance with the esteemed Ravenclaw Head-boy or chuckled at his feeble attempts at wit, was a sight she found most amusing. She slowly made her way toward the gazebo, her mind once again enveloped in the image of Sebastian's face when she undertook the graceful descent of the stairs, where Hector awaited her arrival. The blaze in his eyes when Fawley kissed her hand… She laughed.

"What is so amusing?" asked a voice from behind her.

That voice was all too familiar to her. The very same voice that had audaciously labelled her as 'ignorant' only a few weeks ago. She turned to face the owner of the voice. "Nothing that concerns you, Sallow," she retorted with a chill.

"Saw you with Fawley… Of all the buffoons at Hogwarts, you chose to accompany that pompous prick!" exclaimed Sebastian, standing at the bottom of the stairs leading to the gazebo.

"Why, pray, should it concern you with whom I chose to attend this ball? How could it possibly interest you with whom a lady you deemed so ignorant should decide to pass her time?" retorted Astraea, slowly losing her cool.

Sebastian's face reddened slightly, taken aback by her sharpness. "I only meant that you deserve better company," he muttered, avoiding her gaze.

"You presume to know what I deserve?" she asked, her tone icy. She crossed her arms over her chest, the movement causing the delicate fabric of her dress to shimmer under the moonlight. "And what, pray tell, leads you to consider yourself qualified to make such a judgment?"

Sebastian seemed to squirm under her scrutiny, his hands moving to clasp behind his back. "I..." he began, but his voice trailed off. He looked away, his gaze settling on the distant twinkling stars that adorned the night sky overhead.

"Exactly," Astraea cut in, her voice laced with a bitter edge. "You don't get to decide that, Sebastian. Not after what you said."

"I may have been harsh, but you know what goblins did to my sister, and yet you choose to associate with one of them. You've even confronted some yourself. How can you hold such unwavering trust that he will not deceive you?" replied Sebastian, joining her under the gazebo.

Astraea met his question with a dismissive shrug. "I just do. Not all goblins support Ranrok's ways."

Sebastian exhaled a weary sigh, extending a hand towards her. "How can you be so…"

"So... what?" interrupted Astraea, stepping back with a flash of anger in her eyes. "Pray, finish your thought. What, precisely, am I in your estimation? Shall we revisit the well-trodden path of 'ignorant'? Or do you intend to employ further breadth of your lexicon, Mr. Sallow? Perhaps this time, I shall be deemed naive, innocent, foolish, or even outrightly unintelligent?"

Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose. "Why must you persist in being so obstinate? I am merely concerned for your well-being. I fear you may not fully realize what you're getting yourself into, and I don't want you to get hurt."

"Ah! So it is my judgment and my skills you don't trust! Have you forgotten that I bested a full troll in our fifth year, or triumphed over many of Ranrok's Loyalists and Rookwood's Ashwinders. I have even vanquished enchanted sentinels with a penchant for beheading and rescued a dragon from a fighting ring. But it seems, in your estimation, my judgement and abilities are so flawed that I am incapable of determining the trustworthiness of a goblin."

Sebastian's voice rose in desperation, "Will you just listen to me!"

"No! I have had my fill of your doubts. I am done!" With that, she began to remove herself from his presence, making her way toward the courtyard near the Ravenclaw tower. "I wish you well, but I must insist that you refrain from speaking to me ever again."

In a fit of desperation, Sebastian pursued her. "Astraea, come back this instant. Why do you persist in disregarding my counsel?"

"Counsel? Such a claim is rather humorous coming from someone who thought it was a good idea to go looking for a Scriptorium where we could have died," she retorted, as she kept walking, holding up the skirt of her dress to avoid tripping on the hem as she ran down some stairs.

"But we didn't!" he replied, managing to catch up with her.

"Indeed, and only because I agreed to endure your casting of the Cruciatus curse upon me," she retorted, her voice laced with indignation. "In truth, I think you present a greater threat to my person than any Goblin," she shot back, reaching the bottom of the stairs just as he seized her wrist.

"Let me go!"

His grip tightened as he halted her progress, pulling her around to face him. "Enough," he growled, his voice barely rising above a hush. "Astraea, I…" His words dissipated into the cool night air, his countenance a tableau of vexation and turmoil.

Astraea raised her gaze to meet his. She could see in his dark brown eyes that she may have gone too far, fuelled by her anger. "You what? Will you resort to the Imperius curse to force me to listen to what you have to say?" she challenged, her tone rich with defiance.

Sebastian merely stood, his gaze locked onto hers. His eyes, a mirror to her own fiery defiance. Those emerald eyes that had vanquished him in their fifth-year duel, that had saved him from an untimely watery grave prior to their sorting ceremony. He had sought these eyes for solace on the train after Anne's curse. The same eyes that, without fail, engaged him in an intellectual duel during class. They belonged to a girl who was as vexing as she was intriguing, the most frustrating girl in all of Hogwarts, yet he found himself eagerly anticipating the sight of their sparkling verdant depths each morning.

Sebastian gently let go of her wrist, his hand instinctively migrating towards the soft contours of her cheek. It was a tender gesture that spoke volumes more than any words could. Astraea's eyes widened in surprise, but she made no move to withdraw from his proximity. Sebastian, emboldened by her lack of resistance, leaned in closer, practically erasing what little distance was left between them. Then, in a moment that was as swift as it was inevitable, his lips crashed onto hers, igniting a spark that had been smouldering between them.

Their kiss was brief, a mere second before the reality of his actions struck Sebastian. He stepped back, aghast. "I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. It was entirely inappropriate, and I..."

His apology was cut short. Astraea had seized the lapel of his dress robe, drawing him back towards her. She was unsure of what had possessed her, but she yearned for the intoxicating sensation of his lips upon hers. Their lips reunited, this time with a fervour that left them gasping for breath. The world around them seemed to dissolve, leaving only the two of them beneath the starlit sky.

Sebastian's hand found its way to the nape of her neck, his fingers tangling in her hair. Astraea continued to draw him closer, as if he could never be close enough, until her back made contact with the cold stone wall against which she leaned.

Their kiss intensified, their movements becoming more instinctive, more desperate. It was as if they were trying to communicate a lifetime of emotions through a single kiss, their actions reflecting a profound, unrefined yearning which had them clinging to each other with a tenacity born of passion. Their breaths mingled, their heartbeats syncing in a rhythm that was as old as time itself. Their world narrowed down to just the two of them, every other thought and consideration fading into insignificance.

Astraea's heart pounded in her chest, her blood singing with a fervour she had never experienced before. Her mind raced with a thousand different thoughts, each reflecting the myriad emotions coursing through her—surprise, confusion, exhilaration, and beneath it all, a profound sense of rightness.

Sebastian, for his part, was equally lost in the moment. His mind, once a whirlwind of doubt and uncertainty, was now filled with a singular, resounding thought. It was a realization, a revelation that filled him with a sense of peace he had never known. He loved her. He loved Astraea.

However, their moment was abruptly interrupted by a shocked gasp. "Sebastian Sallow!"

They both raised their eyes to see Natsai Onai, whose initial surprise swiftly transformed into a look of horror as she recognized her dearest friend Astraea as the girl entwined with Sebastian.

Platformer Development Update

{Week 4} (Would be Week 3 but Cyclone Alfred had other plans...)

This week marked the first hands-on development sprint for Max Power, my 2D action-platformer centered around progression and upgrades. I focused on building out the game’s core mechanics and foundational systems using GDevelop.

What I Worked On:

Core Mechanics: Max now runs, jumps, and responds to gravity within the “Dungeon Arena.” Movement feels responsive and sets the stage for tight platforming.

Coin Pickup System: Coins increase a global PlayerCoins variable, designed for use in future upgrade scenes. Coins persist between sessions, laying groundwork for long-term progression.

Enemy AI: Basic enemies use simple AI to track Max’s horizontal position and move toward him continuously.

Health & Damage System: Max has 3 health points, a health bar UI, and now takes knockback on hit. An invincibility window prevents repeated damage spam. If health hits zero, a death animation plays and the game resets.

Custom Start & Instruction Scenes: Designed a stylized title screen with animated buttons that transition into gameplay or an instructions page. The instructions scene outlines controls and objective flow, helping onboard players clearly and quickly.

Challenges Faced:

Implementing Boolean checks for death states and damage cooldowns required a workaround using the health bar’s internal values.

Enemy damage initially stacked all at once—this was solved using event timers and invulnerability states.

Scenes Built: Start Menu, Instructions, and Dungeon Arena. Tools Used: GDevelop, Piskel, royalty-free assets.

Johnny Jewel: The Witch

From Johnny Jewel's 10th solo album, Holly (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is out Friday, October 13th via Italians Do It Better.

Holly is the first solo work Johnny Jewel shares with the public since 2018's "Themes For Television", featuring music he wrote for David Lynch's Twin Peaks. In a recent interview, Johnny & Fien discuss working on the film together. Mixed in Amsterdam in April 2023, Holly premiered last week in official competition at the Venice Film Festival. The film received five star reviews from the global press as well as a standing ovation from the audience.

"Throughout the film, vague hues overlap seamlessly like clouds constantly morphing. As the audience, we project meanings to the shapes that emerge from the chaos in what appear to be patterns. It's abstract enough to be unrecognizable, yet it's somehow familiar. Inspired by the masters of mood like Goblin's blood curdling chimes for Dario Argento, Tangerine Dream's spiraling synthesis for William Friedkin, & John Carpenter's hyper-minimalist approach to scoring his own films with Alan Howarth, I explored a genre-based language to trigger the audience's subconscious. Metallic synthesizers, celeste bells, mellotron flutes & detuned music boxes haunt the recurring musical motif. Like an inevitable storm rolling in, the soundtrack is eerily elusive & at times, almost formless. At other times, the music is so crystal clear & so sharply in focus you could reach out & touch it." It's wild to think this band has only been around since 2018 but has already released so much spine melting DM in that short time. Shit they got new stuff coming out again soon! This is the groovy sort of DEATH you want to hear while traversing magic portals into the abyss at the foot of grave mountain. Just like this cover art by Matt Browning!

BECERUS: GRUNTING DEATH METAL from Palmero, Italy up next and I will just let this two-piece describe the music for us all. "Our only aim is playing the most vile and decerebrate form of music ever made while worshipping the gross and ungainly figure of the mighty Becer, a disgusting, hostile creature whose muscles, dirty hair and belly instantly scare every living thing crossing his path." I think this cover art by Dahmer Art nails that right on the grunting head.

KRYPT: Now it's back to the US for some BLACK/DEATH/THRASH METAL from Augusta, Georgia. This is from the band's first album release back in 2019 and it was only EP/Split/Single releases before that. Not to be confused with the other bands named CRYPT/KRYPT! Satanic heavy metal cover art by Nick Laney.

SCYTHROW: Pretty sure I featured this band in the mix before. This is DEATH METAL from Finland which always has a place in my heart. This is from their 2023 EP on BRUTAL CAVE PRODUCTIONS and it sounds like it was recorded in a cave as well. Punchy snare cracks your skull cap while the chainsaw low tuned guitars tear your ass to pieces! Uncredited cover art showcases exactly that with this skull faced slasher swinging in the pit.

TORTURE RACK: Headed straight down the DEATH METAL pipe with this music from Portland, GORE ORGAN. This is from their full length cassette release from 2015 that was reissued in 2023 on EXTREMELY ROTTEN PRODUCTIONS. SNET: Big riffs and punk energy in this DEATH METAL from Prague, Czechia. It's got a strange and ominous vibe that makes me want to break into a chained shut dumpster to scream inside. Surrealist death cover art by Řád zdechlin.

GLACIAL TOMB: Up next we have "SLUDGE-CORRUPTED PROGRESSIVE DEATH METAL" from Denver, Colorado. Sure we'll go with all that! I just dig the chunky riffs mixed with manic drumming and goblin vocals. This is from an upcoming full length release on PROSTHETIC RECORDS in September. Fantastic other worldly space demon god cover art by Daniel Vega.

EARTH SHIP: Closing out the mix this week is more DOOM/SLUDGE/STONER METAL from Germany. This is the first release from the band since 2018 and they have a discography going back to 2011. I'm not that familiar with the band but this track caught my ear with it's GRUNGE guitars. Whole album comes out next week.
