i kinda think that any portrayal of don giovanni and leporello’s relationship is incomplete if it doesn’t acknowledge that there is both genuine friendship/affection between them AS WELL AS abuse and hatred. they contain fucked up multitudes
#especially if you're taking it out of the fundamental/essential context of like.#16-18th century servitude and class dynamics#like esp if you're 'modernizing' it (which i do think is fine if you Do Something with that concept)#there's like. gotta be a reason they do all this shit together#ESPECIALLY if you're moving away from the literal patron/servant roles of the time period in which it was written#if leporello isn't like. legally and financially Required to do everything the don says then i think it's kind of lazy if you don't#acknowledge another facet of the relationship that makes it plausible#that could be gay love. if that's you bag. whatever#but personally i think there's both an element of leporello looking up to the don as an impossibly charismatic figure#and actual genuine friendship. like if they spend that much time together they have to enjoy each other's presence A Little right.#why wouldn't the don just fire him and get a new servant then if not right#(i also think leporello gay but i don't think that plays as much of a role as some fics out there seem to)#and i think the don has some real affection for leporello. that's his little buddy that's his partner in crime that's his roomie#but they are not equals. there is not mutual respect there#and yeah i'm always a fan of making relationships more fucked up and complicated and even codependent/abusive for fun#(see again whatever the hell is going on between curly and jud in dan fish oklahoma. my beloved)#but in the case of don giovanni i think it's not just making shit up for fanfic fun but like. there's textual basis here#and i think productions and fics and analyses and whatever else tend to swing in one direction or the other#but i think both elements are present in their relationship and both are important#sasha speaks

Why were you drawn to each one of your characters?
Multimuse questions || Accepting!
With Vox I don't fully remember at this point, but I think it was probably watching the Valentino animatic and a few of the Paranoid DJ comic dubs/listening to Eyes on Me. The whole on-again off-again relationship with Val that gets depicted in fanon was intriguing to me, but I also just really enjoyed Vox's confidence and showmanship.
For Chaz--idk man I just love playing over-the-top fuckboys lmao. I respect the show's decision to introduce a character like him that fans got endeared to really quickly (even if it's a "love to hate him" thing) and then just killing him off unceremoniously by the end of the episode. But I just thought it'd be fun to play around with him a little bit, since we're probably not getting that much of him in the show anymore outside of flashbacks.
With Husk, I just really enjoy characters who are mean and crotchety and Unpleasant but secretly are actually total softies. He's a fun contrast to Vox and Chaz tbh, and I'm really looking forward to doing more with him.
With Ramsey, he's honestly just... my favorite character in Epithet Erased in general lol. He's witty and creative and clever, while also being just a bit of a coward, and that's fun to me.
With Giovanni I think it might've honestly been listening to the audiobook?? I always really loved him though. It's interesting to have a character that presents himself as a Card-Carrying Supervillain, but is also easily the kindest person in the cast. His "evilness" comes from a place of wanting to stick it to unjust power structures, and ultimately is couched in genuine empathy.
I also just really love his monologue to Lorelai about how villains always have the coolest songs, the coolest outfits, the best lines, but in exchange they tend to fail so the hero can succeed, and how "when you're a really great Bad Guy, everybody has more fun." That's just a fun way of looking at writing villain characters, and even if I don't RP Giovanni as much on this blog, it's something I try to keep in mind when I write more overtly villainous characters, like Vox, in a collaborative setting.
And with Flug! I think Episode 6 of season 1 really sold me on him? But I always really liked him. He's kind of in the same boat as Ramsey to an extent where he's creative and clever, can think his way out of a situation more effectively than he can fight his way out, but he's also much more of a coward lol.
#( now i sing a different song one i can depend upon ; a simple tune! a steady beat. the music of machinery ) vox#( everybody knows that the dice are loaded ; everybody rolls with their fingers crossed ) husk#( and in his mirror he's a king he's a winner ; he's the patron saint of each great friday night ) chaz#( we scruffle scram skedaddle up a creek without a paddle ; no you cannot rattle us 'cause we are great at crime! ) giovanni#( everything i touch turns to gold; oh sugar i've got the midas touch ) ramsey#[ooc] spacy speaks#flug tbt

...so I have a very specific excerpt from a mid-work fantasy I had today.
All you need to know is Desmond is a bartender at a new bar, conveniently owned by Ezio's family in modern times (assassin's may or may not exist, it really doesn't matter). Giovanni still is the head of a bank and very Important and has decided to have a Very Important Bussiness Dinner at his son's (Ezio) restaurant. It's an authentic Italian place, of course, with all the recipes made by Maria. Friday nights have live, Italian music.
On this specific night, their live performers have failed to appear, and Giovanni's Very Important Bussiness Dinner guests are expecting authentic Italian cuisine and live music. Things are looking bad.
Desmond, newly hired bartender and trying to stay on his new bosses good side (Claudia and Federico also work in the restaurant, but Ezio is the 'main' boss), overhears their predicament and goes all 'I know a guy...'
Cue cousin Clay, who is a classicly trained pianist, being unexpectedly called by his little cousin for a favor.
Clay is not what the Auditore were expecting when he shows up. Ripped jeans, leather jacket, pierced ears, combat boots... Desmond did not mention Clay worked as a bouncer at a club, and dressed like he was in a biker gang...
'Don't worry, I'll fix him up before the performance.'
Clay, in the staff room, trying to squeeze into Desmond's spare uniform.
'Your clothes sizing makes no fucking sense Desmond. Tiniest waist I've ever seen on a man, but with a fat ass and thunder thighs to put a woman to shame. What the fuck is your gym routine?' The black dress pants Clay is currently trying to fit into are distressed where he is trying to pull up the zipper. The waist is just not big enough. The button isn't going to hold, the zipper won't stay up, the seams are straining...
Meanwhile, the Auditore siblings are huddled in the kitchen, eyeing their fathers potential new clients from the little windows in the kitchen doors. They look impressed, so far. The decor is high-end, the wine fantastic, the food both authentic and good...
The entertainment though... Playing the piano is all well and good, but the singer is usually singing in Italian... Would their father's potential clients still be impressed with an English singer??
Clay and Desmond set up on the stage, Clay looking... mostly presentable. There aren't many professional musicians that play classical music with that many studs in their ears...
But Clay plays beautifully, and Desmond can sing? And it's in Italian??
The night goes a lot better than expected after the last-minute canceling of their usual musicians. Desmond and Clay wow the patrons of the restaurant, their father's new clients sign on with enthusiasm.
Desmond and Clay are offered to perform every Friday, should they wish it. It earns Desmond not only an extra check each week, but also an uptick in his tips. Clay, even hating playing something as prissy as piano, can't say no with Desmond's big doe eyes staring at him.
And well...Desmond's employers are worth coming back around to see... Especially when Clay catches the eldest Auditore son eyeing him up and own covertly.
And besides... Clay would do nearly anything to help out his baby cousin. Even something as embarrassing as playing piano.
Especially if the promise of a certain man's attention is on the table.

You ever think about how Giovanni is necessarily the most important person in the pokémon world?
He's a patron of scientific research. He's a businessman. He's the leader of MULTIPLE criminal organizations (and worldwide even, if you count pokémon go as a source of canon), and not even behind the scenes - he's a public figure and regularly engages in contests if pokemon prowess with trainers including children!
The cops (who are generally portrayed as being benevolent and also good at their jobs) literally know his reputation and what he looks like and don't touch him!
And this isn't even counting his encounters with a whole host of legendary/mythical pokémon and the like.
I'm increasingly beginning to believe it's because if something happened to Giovanni, the world would literally devolve into chaos. What if Giovanni is, like, the karmic anti-AZ?

Donald Duck as Duck Avenger (Paperinik-Pk) and his nephews as Little Paperiniks (Paperinik Junior) as superheroes - Spiderman Spide-verse meme redraw - Happy 55th birthday Paperinik (Duck Avenger) and happy 90th birthday Donald Duck! - Happy Father's Day - Duck comics and Duckverse - My style
I'm a little late, but I wish all dear fathers, uncles and grandfathers a happy Father's Day! As with mother's day, this day is celebrated differently from country to country and they are not on the same date. In Europe, Father's Day is generally celebrated in the month of March, especially on March 19, on the Day of St. Joseph, the patron saint of Jesus and the husband of Mary, mostly in Catholic countries. While in some countries it is celebrated during June and August, and sometimes before Christmas. Most of the world celebrates Father's Day every third Sunday of June. So Happy Father's Day!
And on that occasion I drew Donald Duck as the best parent for my nephews, even though he is their uncle, he still took care of them the best and it saddens me that many people deny that. However, so that it is not always one and the same, I drew Donald Duck as a superhero and as Paperiniks (Duck Avenger), and there are also his rude and naughty, but also smart nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck as little Paperiniks or Duck Avengers Junior, certainly like superheroes. And I drew this as a redraw from the popular Spiderman Spide-verse meme where Miles Morales, the future Spiderman imitates his mentor and teacher Peter Parker. That's how Donald's nephews trust their idol Donald Duck as the Duck Avenger. Yes, in a lot of European (especially Italian) comics, Donald's nephews dress up and be like the Duck Avenger. Funny, isn't it?
And I'm drawing this on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the first appearance of Duck Avenger.
Duck Avenger was invented on this day. Duck Avenger was created in 1969 in a comic book by Guido Martina and Giovanni Carpi (correct me about the name of the author) and since then Donald has been an avenger and later he will be a real superhero. And in 1996, a comic book of new stories about Paperinik was published under the name Paperinik New Adventures (Pkna). Of course, Donald also celebrates his birthday on June 9 and this year is his jubilee 90th birthday, so I wish the best duck a happy birthday. My only apologies for the bad background, otherwise they are in the forest if anyone asks me.
If you like this drawing and this idea and this meme, feel free to like and reblog this, but don't use my same ideas without mentioning me! Thank you! And Happy Father's Day to the best uncle Donald Duck as well as happy birthday to the Duck Avenger and happy birthday to the best duck!

THE MARCHESA CASATI
Marchesa Luisa Casati: An inspiringly decadent true tale of a bizarre Italian aristocrat. Pet cheetahs, séances and dresses made from lightbulbs, the heiress, socialite and artist's muse Marchesa Luisa Casati led a life every bit as unusual as her outfits.
Luisa, Marchesa Casati Stampa di Soncino (born Luisa Adele Rosa Maria Amman; 23 January 1881 – 1 June 1957), was an Italian heiress, muse, and patroness of the arts in early 20th-century Europe.
Casati was known for her eccentricities that delighted European society for nearly three decades. The beautiful and extravagant hostess to the Ballets Russes was something of a legend among her contemporaries. She astonished society by parading with a pair of leashed cheetahs and wearing live snakes as jewellery.
She captivated artists and literary figures such as Robert de Montesquiou, Romain de Tirtoff (Erté), Jean Cocteau, and Cecil Beaton.[citation needed] She had a long-term affair with the author Gabriele d'Annunzio, who is said to have based on her the character of Isabella Inghirami in Forse che si forse che no (Maybe yes, maybe no) (1910).[citation needed] The character of La Casinelle, who appeared in two novels by Michel Georges-Michel, Dans la fete de Venise (1922) and Nouvelle Riviera (1924), was also inspired by her.
In 1910, Casati took up residence at the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, on Grand Canal in Venice, owning it until circa 1924. In 1949, Peggy Guggenheim purchased the Palazzo from the heirs of Viscountess Castlerosse and made it her home for the following thirty years. Today it is the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, a modern art museum on the Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro sestiere of Venice, Italy.
Casati's soirées there would become legendary. Casati collected a menagerie of exotic animals, and patronized fashion designers such as Fortuny and Poiret. From 1919 to 1920 she lived at Villa San Michele in Capri, the tenant of the unwilling Axel Munthe. Her time on the Italian island, tolerant home to a wide collection of artists, gay men, and lesbians in exile, was described by British author Compton Mackenzie in his diaries.
Numerous portraits were painted and sculpted by artists as various as Giovanni Boldini, Paolo Troubetzkoy, Adolph de Meyer, Romaine Brooks (with whom she had an affair), Kees van Dongen, and Man Ray; many of them she paid for, as a wish to "commission her own immortality".[citation needed][citation needed] She was muse to Italian Futurists such as F. T. Marinetti (who regarded her as a Futurist) Fortunato Depero, Giacomo Balla (who created the portrait-sculpture Marchesa Casati with Moving Eyes), and Umberto Boccioni. Augustus John's portrait of her is one of the most popular paintings at the Art Gallery of Ontario; Jack Kerouac wrote poems about it and Robert Fulford was impressed by it as a schoolboy.

Torquato Fasso and Eleanore D'Este
Artist: Felice Schiavoni (Italian, 1803-1881)
Genre: Portrait
Date: 1839
Media: Oil on Canvas
Collection: Private Collection
Felice Schiavoni
Felice Schiavoni was an Italian painter, depicting history, genre, and portraits. During his early career, he often collaborated with his father, the painter Natale Schiavoni.
Felice was born in Trieste. He was first a pupil of his father, and he then studied at the Brera Academy at Milan, where he won a prize, and later at Venice and Vienna. He was awarded a prize and medal by Emperor Nicholas of Russia.
He often painted in Venice for Russian patrons. Among his works are a Death of Raphael Sanzio painted during a period of 15 years for Emperor Alexander II of Russia, and for which he was paid 60 thousand Lire. The large canvas was an scholarly tour-de-force which included 16 portraits of famous Italian artists, assembled to grieve at the bedside of the dying painter, including Pierin del Vago, La Fornarina, Giulio Romano, Andrea Navagero, Cardinal Pietro Bembo, Ludovico Ariosto, Michelangelo, and Benvenuto Cellini.
He also painted a Miracle of St. Anthony of Padua and a Saints Simon Stock and Anthony of Padua for a church in Trieste; a Raphael and the Fornarina for the Tosi Gallery, Venice ; a Cupid for the Brera Gallery in Milan; a Christ bearing the Cross ; a Christ Asleep; a Torquato Tasso reading to Eleonora; a Repose in Egypt (1824); a Venus and Cupid (1832); a Madonna (1854) ; a Raphael painting the Fornarina (1861); and a Holy Family (1864).
His wife, Regina Sfriza, died soon after Felice. His daughters Carolina and Julia were also painters, the former of landscapes, the latter of history and portraits. His brother Giovanni (1804–48) was also painter of mythology and history.

My fav Judgement Day member. 💜
Summary: The reader encounters some problems with Imperium buts finds someone unexpected coming to her rescue.
It's a Monday night after Raw has already gone off the air and everyone has exited the arena for the night. Earlier in the night you suffered your 5th loss in a row this month. This one is at the hands of Sonya Deville. And it's safe to say that you're feeling pretty sorry for yourself right about now. And what better way to celebrate your self-loathing than grabbing a drink at the hotel bar?
The bar is unusually packed for a Monday night when you arrive. You recognize a few people from work as you make a b-line for the bar, but none of them bother to acknowledge you. Not that you really care. Right now, the only thing on your mind is getting a drink and feeling sorry for yourself.
"Evening," The bartender on duty smiles at you when you approach the bar.
You nod at him with a hint of a smile and sit down on a barstool. "Hey," You answer his greeting and nod to the cooler of bottleneck beers sitting behind him. "Just a beer, please."
"That it?" The bartender muses. "No fruity drink?" He jokes.
"Not tonight." You shake your head.
The bartender nods and pops the cap off of a beer before handing it to you. You take a sip and close your eyes for a moment. The cold liquid slides down your throat and cools you off. You can hear various conversations between patrons all around you, as well as some Indi music playing from somewhere to your right.
The bartender strikes up a friendly conversation with you when he's not serving drinks. He's nice enough that you don't feel annoyed when he asks you about yourself. He walks away after asking you about your job for a moment and when he comes back he's got some fruity drink with him.
"Here, this is for you." He slides the drink your way. "It's from those two guys over in that booth." He nods across the room.
You turn in your seat and gaze across the room where Giovonni Vinci and Marcel Barthel are sitting. Vinci flashes a dashing smile at you and you quickly turn away from him. "Great. Thanks." You reluctantly take the drink.
You hope and pray that the drink was just a friendly gesture and that Vinci won't come over to bother you. But much to your chagrin, he heads over a few minutes later.
"Y/N! What a pleasure seeing you here." Vinci walks over and leans against the bar next to you.
"Giovanni. Thanks for the drink." You offer him a small smile. "That was nice of you. But I was just about to call it a night." You inform him.
You reach for your purse and pray again that Vinci will get the hint and leave you alone. But he makes no indication that he's going to leave you alone. "Awe, going so soon, Y/N?" Vinci asks you. "You've only been here for like half an hour."
"Yeah well, I've got an early day tomorrow." You reply dryly.
Vinci still makes no effort to take your hints and leave you be and you start to wonder if you could get away with just leaving without a word. You've already made plenty of enemies on RAW at work. Sonya and Chelsea hate you. Zoey is still holding a grudge from when you were both in NXT. Not to mention Rhea Ripley has had it in for you ever since it was revealed that you and Dominik are cousins.
You take a breath and are about to try and dismiss yourself from Vinci again when suddenly you sense that someone is standing directly behind you. "She doesn't seem like she's interested, Vinci." A deep voice sounds from behind you.
"Pfft. It's none of your business, Priest!" Vinci defends his prey.
You turn your head and find Damian Priest looming behind you with a scowl on his face. 'shit' You curse to yourself. 'What the hell could he want?' You wonder.
"I said, leave her alone. Don't make me tell you again." Damian remains adamant that Vinci needs to leave.
Vinci locks eyes with Priest and the pair stare at one another in a statement. Vinci ends up breaking first through, and storms off mumbling something under his breath.
"You didn't have to do that." You turn back to the bar.
"I know." Damian replies and steps over to your side where you can see him now.
You reach for your drink and finish the rest of it. "If you're expecting me to thank you then you're going to be standing there for a while. I didn't need any help." You inform him dryly.
"No thanks needed." Damian replies. "Vinci gets on my nerves too. It was no problem." He insists.
"Right." You huff and reach for your purse again.
The last thing you need is one of Rhea's goons thinking that you owe them something. So it's better if you just leave now and not interact with Priest. Even if he did save your ass.
"Here, let me get it." Damian pulls his wallet out faster than you can find your card in your purse and hands it to the waiting bartender.
"I can pay for my own drinks." You insist, but Damian shakes his head.
You watch him sit down on the stool next to you and signal the bartender to ignore your request. "It's just a beer," Damian argues with you. "Trust me, it's no big deal."
"With you people, it always seems to be." You grumble.
"You people?" Damian turns to you with a raised brow.
You realize your poor choice of words and bite your lip. "You know what I meant. You're in Judgement Day. And I don't want any part of that whole mess."
"That's work," Damian replies smoothly. "We're not at work right now, are we?" He reminds you. "Right now we might as well be strangers. You're the girl getting unwanted attention from some sleaze who doesn't know how to take a hint. And I'm the guy trying to help her out." He jokes.
"Pretty sure this conversation qualifies you as the sleaze giving me unwanted attention." You quip back with just a hint of a laugh.
Damian chuckles and picks up his drink. "Fair enough." He acknowledges your burn. "I'll let you get out of here then. But I'm still paying for your drink." He adds.
"Yeah, thanks." You sigh and dismiss yourself.
The next week you are heading back to the locker rooms after your match against Zoey Stark when you run into Giovonni and Marcel again. The pair box you in and manage to corner you outside of catering.
"Well well well, Y/N, funny seeing you here." Vinci grins down at you.
"Giovanni." You swallow hard and accidentally back yourself into a wall. "How are you?" You ask him nervously.
Vinci and Barthel both share a look and laugh with one other before they both turn back to you. "I don't appreciate being dismissed, Y/N," Vinci warns you. "Especially when I was being so nice last night. I even bought you a drink." He reminds you.
"I never asked you to do that." You defend yourself. "I wasn't looking to have any company last night."
"Oh but that's just not true, now is it?" Marcel cuts in. "You seemed more than happy to let Damian Priest sit down with you and talk for a moment." He reminds you.
You bite the inside of your lip and curse yourself for managing to get yourself into this much trouble. Why can't you go one week without getting your ass beat?
"Hey!" A booming voice echoes through the hall causing Vinci and Barthel to look away from you.
You take a chance and duck to the side and past Marcel and Giovanni and toward whoever just shouted. Once you're passed them you see that Damian is heading down the hall with a serious scowl on his face. You make your way to him and duck to safety behind him.
"Unless both of you want your asses kicked, I suggest that you both leave," Damian warns Vinci with a growl.
Marcel grabs Giovonni's arm and encourages him to leave. Vinci nods in frustration and both of them head off. Damian waits for them to be out of sight before he turns to you.
"You okay?" Damian asks you in a calmer tone.
"Yeah, I'm fine." You nod. "I...thank you for that." You thank him. "But I don't need this."
Damian nods but doesn't walk off just yet. "I know. You don't want anything to do with Judgment Day. I get it." He informs you. "That's not what this is about."
"Then what is it?" You reply sheepishly. "Because I've got no clue why'd you have any interest in me that doesn't have to do with the fact that Dominik is my cousin." You admit.
Damian chuckles and shrugs. "Maybe I just think you're pretty." He suggests. "No ulterior motives needed then, right?" He jokes.
"Right." A small smile plays on your lips. "Thank you again, Damian." You thank him once more. "And sorry about acting like a frigid bitch last night."
"It's alright." Damian nods. "You were having a bad night. I get it."
You laugh to yourself and shake your head. "More like a bad year. But yeah." You correct him.
"Awe, you'll pick it back up soon." Damian chuckles. "You just need the right confidence boost is all."
"Right, well when you figure out where I can get one of those, let me know." You joke. "Anyway, I better get back to the locker room." You nod down the hall.
Damian nods and steps out of the way to let you pass him. "Y/N, wait up. Get a drink with me after the show?" He asks you.
"Damian." You bite your lip. "Rhea and Dominik...:
"They don't have to know." Damian replies. "No one does."
You mull it over for a moment, knowing that you're playing a dangerous game right now. "...Yeah, okay. One drink." You ultimately decide to give in and get that drink.
"Great." Damian smiles. "Meet me at the hotel bar at 11."

I didn't even read the full post, I just saw "What's their McDonald's order" and decided that's the most interesting muse question I've ever seen, so gimme that one for every muse on the roster.
I lost the meme this was attached to ope lol || Not accepting
Thanks to @e-m-p-error responding to this same ask I'm kind of leaning towards "one large Powerade with no ice and all the McGriddles you can fit in a bag." It is, he will insist, The Perfect Breakfast Sandwich.
Three Filet o Fish, a medium fry, and a frozen Coke
One (1) black coffee
His canonical favorite food is pancakes, but I feel like he'd not be a fan of the pancake breakfast thing at McDonalds. I think he'd probably take after Vox and go for a McGriddle (just the one) and maybe a hashbrown, but he's mostly going to get a happy meal for 5.0.5.
Quarter pounder with cheese and an apple pie
There is no way Giovanni Potage isn't getting Chicken Nuggies. He gets a bunch of orders of them and four large fries and splits them with his Boys.
