Two-person exhibition of Buddhist statues and paintings.

This is a two-person exhibition with my backsliding grandfather.

In addition to "Nirvana", "Shikumon deyu", and "Shuraba", we are going to show our new work "Gokujanoha".

1999 Monthly Asuka June Issue, Title Page Illustration

I placed a ground coat of brown on a sheet of paper that was already a light brown color to begin with. I added the red lines on top of that with poster color (acrylic gouache). I think the image outlines were drawn with a ballpoint pen-I wanted to create a rough, etching-like effect. I remember spending a lot of time on the wings.

1999 Monthly Asuka February Issue, Title Page Illustration

I wanted to draw a relaxed scene showing these two together as a couple. Animals love Kusanagi, so when he appears in the story he's surrounded by cats [laughs]. I drew a cat in this one too. Yuzuriha has a connection to cats as well: although she controls Inuki, her family name is Nekoi. The tree in the background is meant to be a species with broad leaves, like a poplar.

1998 Monthly Asuka July Issue, Title Page Illustration

I didn't mean for it to happen, but this ended up looking a lot like a tarot card [laughs]. I drew Karen using Copic markers, color ink, and an airbrush, and used Copic markers again for the stained glass behind her. The brownish, India ink-like hue of the background was done with a Lumocolor pen. I really liked that particular color and used it a lot back then.

The building is the Ginza Wako clock tower. I always thought it'd be interesting to see somebody standing on it, so I drew this illustration. Seichiro's on his way home from work, I guess. Since this is a night scene I paid close attention to the lighting while I was doing it.

2002 Monthly Asuka June Issue, Title Page Illustration

This is meant to be the counterpart to the illustration of Seishiro that appears on the next page. The two were drawn at totally different times- this one was done later on- -but the atmosphere is the same. I used the screen behind Seishiro as a reference, drawing the same flowers but purposely changing the shapes of the clouds. The concept is that they're two different screens painted by the same artist.

1999 August, X Volume 13, Cover Illustration

The counterpart to the illustration of Subaru on the previous page. Since it was done first, I was able to draw it much more freely. Given the blood spatter on the screen, it looks like Seishiro's just done some work. The Japanese-style setting really suits him. I used Copic markers and color ink, along with gold poster color for the screen. I like how the clouds turned out.

This is a scene of when Kamui is injured in the story. But then again, he's always injured in the second half of the story [laughs]. In order to show the bandages and blood, I have him lying on a white bed sheet. Since this is after he became a Dragon of Heaven, his white wings have fallen off, and all he has left are the black ones. I drew Kamui using Copic markers and color ink, the blood with color ink and acrylic gouache, and the wings with an airbrush. The red I used for the blood is slightly darker than the one I ordinarily used back then.

This was for a February issue of the magazine, but I totally ignored the season [laughs]. Kakyo is often drawn in white, which is his thematic color, so I decided to use autumn leaves as a contrast to that. I did the coloring after placing a beige ground coat over the paper. I usually put down a ground coat first if I want the illustration to have a delicate brightness.

I put down a grayish-beige ground coat to tint the paper before drawing the art, which was mainly done with color ink. Seichiro can control the wind, so I thought he'd look good together with swallows. I just love to draw animals [laughs]. Since this scene has an atmosphere of early summer, of when the swallows come back, I had him wear a summery kimono. But I didn't give any consideration to when this illustration would actually run in the magazine [laughs).

1999 Monthly Asuka March, April, and May Issues, Mail Order Calling Card Bonus

This was an illustration for a calling card, so it's very small. I drew it in such a way that it could be viewed either as a single image or as two, split in the middle. I was told that a gold clement was going to be placed at the bottom for a different version, so I drew only the upper half of their bodies to leave some space for that. I mainly used Copic markers, but since I really wanted the illustration to have a sepia tint I used a lot of brownish colors. The effect is that we're looking at this through a filter of some sort.

This was probably done on a sheet of hotel stationery [laughs]. The paper itself had a parchment-like pattern to it. As an experiment, I had put down a ground coat of sepia on the paper, and the effect on the edges turned out so well that I kept the sheet until I had an opportunity to use it [laughs]. I like how this illustration has an unstable atmosphere, like an old photograph that was unsuccessfully developed.

2000 February, X Volume 14, Cover Illustration

Arashi is often depicted wearing a kimono. The request was to use a deep purplish red, so the entire illustration is drawn using that color. I wanted to emphasize the purple, so I used it on the small details. To tell you the truth, I use fewer colors for X than for other series. By the way, the pattern on the kimono belt is also from one of our belongings [laughs]. Please note how the dragon in the background blends into the kimono pattern in one continuous line.

An image of Kamui sitting in a soft ray of light. I wanted to challenge myself to create an illustration that would let other people realize where he was without any details in the background. But the answer is [laughs], he's sitting inside an abandoned building. I tried to express that with just the light and shadow, without drawing the rubble and shattered glass. Kamui was injured in the story at that point, so I included the bandage.

Illustrations This illustration was split in two and used on the covers of consecutive issues of Asuka magazine. I was told beforehand that the two halves would be used separately, so I drew the image in such a way that it could be separated in the middle. I used modeling paste for the background to give it a rugged texture. I didn't draw wings for this one, and instead used the cloth and objects to represent them. Everything apart from the background was done in acrylic gouache, Copic markers and color ink

I applied a coat of modeling paste over the background to create a wall-like texture. Since Fuma is one of the Seven Angels I wanted to make him look like a priest, so I had him wear something that kind of looked like a vestment. But he's a slightly evil priest who seems to be scheming something [laughs]. Unlike in other illustrations, the feathers aren't scattered all over; instead, I have Fuma spreading his wing open towards the front.

I wanted to make this look like as if Kamui were standing before a dark mirror showing his reflection. I usually draw him with wings on his back, but here I tried to represent them with the pattern on his jacket. I used a cross as the motif for the pattern, so it would look like something the Angels would wear. The whole image was done using Copic markers.

My illustrations of Yuto usually have water in them. I wanted to give this one a glossy look as if it had been drawn on a computer, and since it's a scene at an aquarium, there's an expanse of glass in the background. I wanted it to have a photographic feel. I used color ink and Copic markers and added the reflected light on the aquarium glass using an airbrush.

2000 August, X Volume 15, Cover Illustration

Blue is Yuto's theme color, so naturally, I have him playing around in a fountain. If you look at this illustration from far away though, it looks very funny and odd [laughs]. And since it's Yuto, of course, he's surrounded by women--even though they're all statues [laughs]. The background was done with color ink, and I used Copic markers for his hair and other details

Ginza war einer der ersten Stadtteile Tokios, ursprünglich eine namensgebende Silbermünzstätte-auf japanisch "Ginza". Ginza ist 1872 vollständig abgebrannt und danach zu einer  Einkaufs- und Flaniermeile ausgebaut.

Die Chūō-dōri in Gin­za ist die ältes­te Ein­kaufs­stras­se Asi­ens im west­li­chen Stil.

Das Ginza Wako wurde 1932 erbaut und ist mit seiner markanten Uhr das Wahrzeichen Ginzas. Man erwartet beim Anblick eine große Ladenfläche, aber innen ist es das Kaufhaus eher klein, aber exklusiv. Auf den ersten drei Etagen werden teure Markenuhren verkauft. Unter den eher preiswerten haben wir haben eine Glashütte für mehr als 3,8 Millionen Yen gesehenen, schlappe 26.000 €.

Mitsukoshi ist Tokyos ältestes Kaufhaus und wurde 1904 eröffnet.Hier werden die luxuriöse Marken der Welt angeboten, man kann aber auch Einzelstücke zu hohen, aber nicht unerschwinglichen Preisen kaufen. Vergleichbar etwa mit dem KdW. Das Kaufhaus hat auch, aber in den unteren Etagen, einen großen Foodbereich.

Die legen­dä­re Löwen­sta­tue vor dem Kauf­haus Mitsukoshi trug  fast drei Jah­re lang eine Mas­ke und wur­de so zum media­len Sym­bol­bild der Coro­na-Pan­de­mie. Am 13. März 23, mit dem Fall der allgemeinen Maskenpflicht in Japan, ist auch der Löwe wieder ohne Maske. 

Ginza Six wurde  2017 eröffnet und ist das größte Einkaufszentrum des Viertels.

そしてゴジラはついに、その巨大な全身を東京湾にあらわした。機関銃部隊の一斉射撃をものともせず、ゴジラは海岸へと近づいていく。品川のハツ山橋(線路をまたぐ鉄橋)は、ありあわせのしながわやまぐんしゅう荷物を持って逃げる群衆であふれ返っていた。やがてゴジラは品川に上陸。品川駅に迫る。巨大なゴジラと逃げまどう人々。品川駅に向かって走っていた急行列車がゴジラの足に激突して脱線、転覆する。怒ったゴジラは、列車の車両をげきとつだっせんてんぶくおこきょうふ口にくわえ、振りまわす。次に八ツ山橋に手をかけ、一気にたたきつぶす。恐怖におののく人間たち。ゴジラは何ごともなかったかのように、また海へと帰っていった。対策本部は、海岸線に高さ30メートルの鉄塔を建てて鉄条網を張りめぐらせ、5万ボルトの電流を流してゴジラを感電死させる作戦を立てる。芝浦付近に再上陸するゴジラ。高圧の電流と砲撃で立ち向かう防衛隊。鉄条網から出るスパーくるクの火花に、ゴジラはたけり狂う。すかさず発砲する防衛隊の戦車や大砲���。そのとき、ゴジラきょうれついっしゅんは背びれを白く発光させ、口から強烈な白熱光(熱線)をはき出す。すると、一瞬にして戦車はえんじょうと炎上し、鉄塔はあめ細工のように溶けて、折れ曲がってしまう。ゴジラは銀座方面に向かって歩き出した。松坂屋を白熱光で炎上させ、時計台の鐘の音に反応わこうはかいすきやばしゆうらくちょうこうかするかのように、和光ビルを破壊する。数寄屋橋を通過し、有楽町のガード(高架)を踏みつぶにちげきじっきょうちゅうけい日劇(日本劇場)をしっぽで一撃。そして巨大な国会議事堂を突きくずすと、実況中継していた平河町のテレビ塔に迫る。「さようなら、みなさん!」と絶叫するアナウンサー(橘正晃)もろとも、倒れていくテレビ塔が、民家の屋根を押しつぶす。And so, Godzilla finally revealed its massive form in Tokyo Bay. Unfazed by the relentless barrage of machine gun fire, the creature steadily advanced toward the shoreline. The Hatsuyama Bridge in Shinagawa, a railway overpass, was overwhelmed by panicked crowds clutching their belongings, desperate to escape. Soon, Godzilla made landfall in Shinagawa, heading straight for the train station. Amid the chaos, an express train racing toward the station collided with Godzilla’s enormous foot, derailing and overturning in a catastrophic crash. Enraged, Godzilla grabbed one of the train cars in its jaws, swinging it violently before turning its attention to the Hatsuyama Bridge, which it smashed to pieces in a single devastating blow. The terrified humans scattered as Godzilla, seemingly indifferent to the destruction, retreated back to the sea. In response, the crisis headquarters devised a desperate plan: erect 30-meter-high steel towers along the coastline, string them with barbed wire, and channel 50,000 volts of electricity through the defenses in hopes of electrocuting the monster. Godzilla returned, making landfall again near Shibaura. The Defense Force confronted it with high-voltage electricity and relentless shelling. Sparks erupted violently from the barbed wire, driving Godzilla into a furious frenzy. The tanks and cannons of the Defense Force fired in rapid succession, but then Godzilla’s dorsal fins began to glow ominously. In the next instant, it unleashed a searing blast of incandescent energy from its mouth. The tanks were consumed in flames, while the steel towers melted and twisted like soft wax. Godzilla resumed its march toward Ginza. It set the Matsuzakaya department store ablaze with its fiery breath and responded to the tolling of the clock tower's bells by obliterating the iconic Wako Building. The rampage continued past Sukiyabashi, crushing the elevated tracks at Yurakucho underfoot. With a single sweep of its tail, it smashed the Nichigeki Theater, which was broadcasting the carnage live. The creature pressed onward, demolishing the massive National Diet Building before setting its sights on the television tower in Hirakawacho. The broadcaster, announcing live, shouted, “Goodbye, everyone!” as the tower collapsed with him inside, its wreckage crashing into nearby homes.

既然來到銀座的巷弄喝咖啡離開前不免要順便瞧一瞧這座高級大都會的樣貌，街道百貨大樓林立而玻璃櫥窗內放眼所及不管吃穿用度全是標價昂貴的精緻商品，行人道上栽植有已經接近花季末期但還是恣意綻放著美麗的紫陽花，一些牆面圍籬則幾乎爬滿了葉型大過手掌的常春藤…

原本想可能會在百貨公司美食街之類的地方解決今日份的餐食卻在Google maps上面發現了照片很有日本味道的「關東食市」於是就繞過來了。

從中間走道一家家走馬看花晃悠過去後綜觀所有店家基本上是以牛、海產、貝類料理為主要的販售品項，然後也有一些有賣「馬肉」的特色料理 (這個我先Pass) …

結果因為每家店的販售項目多有類似反而增加了我的選擇障礙… 😅

後來選擇靠近走道前方的店家坐定就以臺灣人吃海產攤熱炒店的概念點了菜：中華炒飯、日式炒麵 🤣🤣🤣 然後還是點了煎餃～ 😂

感想：碳酸���料怎麼可以沒有氣泡？！！ 😱 (上菜出餐機器狀況還是要檢查的吧？)

I bought some bread for tomorrow's breakfast at Epicerie Gargantua in Imperial Hotel (^o^)

All the breads are absolutely exquisite (^o^)v

At my wife's request, I also tried Mont Blanc（a chestnut cake）at Patisserie Gargantua next door (^o^)v

I remembered that the quality level of the Mont Blanc, which I ate at the tea salon in Ginza Wako, was outstandingly high, but this Mont Blanc was also good as same as it (^o^)v
