my headcanons about the primarchs yeahhhhh????!

1. Leman Rus has very thick and surprisingly soft hair. In fact, he has a lot of hair on his body, but it is light, plus he has a sexy happy trail that connects with the hair on his chest. (I want to scratch his belly like a dog)

2. Konrad Kerdz has crooked teeth, plus he is the thinnest of the Primarchs and his hair often looks dirty. (I really like crooked teeth, I want to lick them)

3. Horus Lupercal's voice always had a nasal quality.

4. Fulgrim before becoming a Daemon Prince had a very flexible body, he has straight teeth and he uses his tongue well in all senses. (after becoming a Daemon Prince his flexibility increased)

5. Vulcan smells nice of warmth and salt, the smell is associated with hot sand, his skin has a golden glow and he has a soft pleasant smile. (he's cool, I think it's just nice to talk to him and spend time with him)

6. Guilliman uses tape and suffers from back pain. Plus he wears glasses because he thinks it's cool. (I wouldn't want to talk to him, I already listen to all this talk at work, I'm tired :( )

7. Magnus's hair is curly, his body hair is kinky, his wisdom teeth are a source of discomfort to him. He loves essential oils. (He's a great guy, you can play board games with him, he'll tell you all about his hyperfictions 100000/10)

I understand that some things contradict the canon, but still...

What kind of movie is the movie "Brazil" with all the strange things happening? Why is it even called Brazil? Why are there strange sets and weird personalities? What is this movie really all about?

“This is your receipt for your husband... and this is my receipt for your receipt.”

It is this quote that perfectly explains the world of Terry Gilliam’s Magnum Opus: Brazil. A world where everything works so well that nothing works at all.

Brazil is first and foremost a satire of Gilliam’s society (1980s). The film asks the question of just how weird the world could become if everything got carried out of hand.

For example, Gilliam noticed a rise of domestic terrorism in the midst of The Troubles and also the ineffectiveness of the government in keeping up with collapsing infrastructure.

So Gilliam, in his comedic genius, combines the two. He asks “What if inefficient repairmen become so normal that a legitimate terrorist action would be to fix pipes quickly? What if something as stupid as that incited terror?”

Or Gilliam noted the corruption of politicians, ineffectiveness of government, and proliferation of information techniques.

So Gilliam, with a brilliant mind for social satire, asks “What if a government typo led to the wrong man being tortured and killed? What if then the government did everything to not own up to their mistake? How much damage could one typo cause in a broken government?”

Or Gilliam saw the Freudian idea of a man loving people who are like their mother and also saw plastic surgery becoming more and more popular.

So Gilliam, in a characteristic bout with dark humor, asks “What if plastic surgery got so good that a mother could look exactly like her son's love interest.”

The strange sets and weird personalities create an uneven tone for the film. The entire movie is supposed to have an uncanny valley effect. Vaguely familiar, yet undoubtedly alien.

So what is this movie all about?

When taking as thematic a work as Brazil, you could never pinpoint everything it says in a sentence. It is saying so many things at once.

Still, I am a slave to the question and will do my best to sum it up:

Gilliam’s Brazil presents an uncanny world where everything in 1980′s Earth is dialed up to 100 and mashed together until nothing can possibly work how it is supposed too.

The film explores how a society’s decadence can lead to its depravity.
