so much has happened in the last seven days but here’s what i need to tell you all

yesterday i got accepted into my DREAM study abroad program. like it checks of every single one if my boxes and i am freaking out over it.

it’s in london this fall (i’m from the US if it wasn’t already clear) studying english fantasy literature and shakespeare. like our required texts are literally Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Narnia and other iconic british folklore and fantasy stories (king arthur, neil gaiman books etc). also a large portion of the course is about writing and storytelling. like ill take a whole class on writing an original story.

i am like… freaking out over it. it’s super high end and competitive program, and i wasn’t expecting to get in. but after discussing it with my family we’ve decided i’m gonna go and do it and im SO EXCITED.

it’s like a dream come true. i’m studying something i actually genuinely love in fucking LONDON. my favorite city in the world (i’ve traveled there before!)

TLDR: miss buttahpie is going to live in london this fall studying fantasy literature and im gonna cry of excitement.

I just got the idea to draw Mrs. Jumbo and the other circus elephants as babies. It was easy to figure out how they would've looked, just like Dumbo but with small ears (they're all Asian elephants and Dumbo himself resembles one as well except for his ears, and as I've mentioned before, I headcanon that Dumbo's father is a fictional version of the real Jumbo, who was an African elephant, and that's why Dumbo has big ears, he's a hybrid).

While drawing this I started to wonder about their parents, and I came up with a headcanon that they all grew up in a different circus with their parents and were sold to their current circus once they became old enough (don't worry, even when he grows up Dumbo will never be sold from his mama, the circus would never sell their biggest star).

Also when I went on the Disney Wiki to look for reference photos, I saw a bit of trivia on Mrs. Jumbo's page that said "Joe Grant and Dick Huemer changed Dumbo's mother's name from "Mother Ella" to "Mrs. Jumbo" as a reference to the famed Barnum & Bailey circus pachyderm", so I decided that Mrs. Jumbo's real name is Ella, but once she grew up she formally gets referred to by her "married" name. That also lead to me thinking up a name for the Matriarch, and I settled on Whitney.

I like to think that when Ella was a child she was a sweet, quiet girl who preferred to hang out alone, with her parents or with the other baby circus animals since she couldn't really relate to the other baby elephants. They were never really mean to her, but even back then they were still a gossipy group so their personalities weren't a match with Ella. However, since Giddy's always seemed like the nicest of the group, I can imagine her occasionally asking "Why don't we invite Ella?" before the group hangs out. Ella would politely decline, of course.

And yes I did draw baby Mrs. Jumbo first then traced over her for Catty, Prissy and Giddy, sue me lol. The matriarch wasn't traced over her because I wanted her to have her head held high up (also since she's clearly the oldest one, hence her being the matriarch, I made her a bit taller than the others).

Heeeeyy, everyone! It's been a hot minute!! I apologize for not posting at all T^T but like, I kinda need help🥲 so baasically, I was talking with one of my irl friends, about this thing my school does every year for Valentines Day, even though everyone else uses it to embarrass friends more than anything, it's like, the choir kids come to sing to you if said friend filled out a form. And I wanted to do to one of my most ruthless friends, my other friend told me if I did it to him, he'd get me back real quick, and I kinda..want him to tickle me...like, he's an actual menace, and I'm so desperate to be wrecked, 😭 I NEED him to wreck meee!!😭😭 someone save meeeeeee!😩😩😩
