Danny wasn’t a fan of these galas. He felt suffocated being in a room with so many people. Royals, legends, and the wealthy all gathered in one place for a celebration. The bustling of conversation along with the low buzz of music coming from a band in the corner mixed together to create one sound that bangs at Danny’s ears.

Sam had dragged him and Tucker along with her. She was forced to attend on account of her parent’s wishes and she would be damned if she had to suffer through it alone. Only seventeen minutes into the party, though, Sam got trapped in a conversation with some earl and Tucker was showing off some of his inventions to potential patrons, leaving Danny to try and entertain himself. Irony is a funny little thing. So here he is, awkwardly standing in a corner and trying to drown out his boredom with extremely expensive wine.

He should’ve made up an excuse, acted like there was a life-threatening emergency to attend to. He would rather be fighting a dragon over experiencing this party for a second longer. Even if it was a Wayne Gala, which was always praised to the high heavens, he found the party to not live up to the legend. The head of the house, Bruce Wayne, was easy to spot. He was always crowded around various wealthy participants, all laughing and chatting their heads off. He did not envy Ser Bruce, seeing as he had to interact with so many people. Even watching the crowd made him tired. The longing warmth of his bed filled his mind as he absentmindedly swirled the red wine around in the glass.

A sharp sound of metal repeatedly hitting glass pierces his ears, and he looks up from the pool of red to see an old man dressed in a black suit befitting those in wealthy circles. He was standing on the stairs and tapping a spoon against a wine glass. The crowd quiets down to a murmur as the old man clears his throat.

“I welcome everyone to our humble estate, we are gathered here to celebrate our newest addition to the Wayne linage. "

Right, the whole reason anyone was even here in the first place. The Wayne family had gained another child. Not through birth, but through adoption. Bruce Wayne was famous for picking unfortunate children off the streets of Gotham and adopting them into his luxurious life. This was his fifth…sixth kid? Danny had lost count. The rich really could afford everything.

“Chosen by Ser Bruce Himself, we welcome Duke Thomas,”

A roar of applause filled the ballroom as a person Danny presumed was Duke came walking down the stairs. Danny didn’t know what the new kid looked like. He was expecting another black-haired, blue-eyed, perfect prince archetype, seeing as the rest of the ones that were adopted were similar. But Duke was different.

The whole crowd was quiet except for the band, who played music to accompany Duke’s descent down to the ground floor. His smile was bright and blinding, and Danny could swear there was this light surrounding him, emitting off of him and surrounding him like the wings of an angel. He was dressed in yellow, gold, and black, his outfit befitting one of a prince. Halfway down, Duke’s gaze met Danny’s. The other boy's eyes turned from brown to golden and Danny had this urge to run towards Duke, to hold him and get to know him. It wasn’t a feeling he had ever felt before; it was terrifying.

Duke looked away as he finally reached the ballroom floor. The surrounding guests rushed to greet him and present their own gifts. No doubt a way to buy themselves into the good graces of Duke and Bruce. The old man coughed to gain the attention of the guests once again.

“I know you're all excited to get to know him, and what better way to get to know someone than with a dance!”

The party erupts into a roar as the band starts to play a sweet and romantic melody. Duke is immediately swept into the chaos as the dance floor becomes filled with waltzing couples. Before Danny could think, his feet were carrying him to the dance floor, his eyes fixated on Duke Thomas, who was currently enrolled in a dance with a nice young lady in a peach-pink dress.

As soon as Danny stepped into the dancing crowd, he got pulled into the arms of a young woman in a beautiful red gown. They twirl around a bit and he loses his Duke in the crowd. He looks across the ballroom floor for him as he dances around, eyes darting from one person to the next. He finally spots Duke with a different lady. This one is wearing a glimmering dark green gown, her smile big as they dance around. Duke looks around above the head of the woman and his eyes soften once they meet Danny’s. Duke twirls the lady around with one hand and lets her go, twirling her right into the arms of another lady as he bows to her. Danny lets go of the woman in his arms and bows to her, walking off towards Duke. Duke gets swept up into another dance with a nice gentleman in a fancy blue outfit adorned with jewels. They twirl and twirl before the gentleman spins Duke around with one hand. Once the spin ends, they both bow, leaving Danny an opportunity to finally dance with Duke. Danny felt various tingles shoot up through his arms as his hands interlocked with Duke’s. It was exhilarating. He had never felt this way with anyone before. It was even more strange as he had never seen Duke Thomas before.

Now that Danny is closer, he can get a good look at Duke. Duke’s a little shorter than he expected, maybe an inch or two below Danny. Beauty marks sparsely cover his face and a small scar across his left brow. His brown eyes were no longer brightly golden, but Danny could see tiny gold specks floating around in his dark brown eyes. He was beautiful, and Danny could feel his heart race. His cheeks felt hot and yet he felt as if he was completely at peace.

“Do you ever not stare?” Duke asks, a smile accompanying his question.

Danny laughs. “Don’t act like you weren’t looking for me as well.”

“It’s quite hard to look away from someone who’s glowing green. "

Danny steps back a bit too far and steps on someone’s foot. He quickly apologizes and leans in close to Duke.

“I glow?”

“Do you not know? Your eyes, they shimmer this toxic green sometimes. I was inclined to think you were magic. "

Everyone knows magic users don't receive warm welcomes in the kingdom of Gotham. So being accused of being magic was a big deal. While magic users may not get burned at the stake, there’s still prejudice and if they find out Danny can do magic-.

“I can feel your panic. No need to worry.” Duke’s eyes turn into a shiny golden. “I’m magic as well,”

“Is that why I was so drawn to you?”

“Perhaps, seems like magic souls seek each other out. "

“I just realized you don't know my name. They call me Danny.”

“‘Danny’? I like it, I think it fits you, I’m Duke, you already know that but I still like to introduce myself. "

“It's nice to meet you, Duke. "

They waltz together for what seems like forever. Until Duke speaks up again.

“Do you like stars, Danny?”

“I like the stars, yes,”

“Then I have something to show you if you’ll be so kind as to let me”

Danny nods and Duke slips them both away from the party. He leads the other boy to a balcony, out of immediate sight of the rest of the partygoers. The yellow light of the ballroom pours out onto the balcony, clashing with the dark of the night. The night sky is littered with shimmering stars, the light cast from the bright stars shining down on Duke makes him look like he’s in a romantic painting.

“I rarely like these big parties. When I get overwhelmed, I tend to sneak out here. I thought maybe you would like it. The stars always looked lovely up here. "

Danny loved it, the stars dancing around in the sky. Glowing so bright, so far, yet so close. He looked back at Duke, the stars twinkling in his eyes alongside the golden specks. Duke was lovely.

“You glow as well,”

Duke’s attention switched back to Danny, one eyebrow raised and a worried expression on his face. He looked down at himself, trying to find this glow Danny was talking about.

“I don’t think anyone else can see it. "

“We see in each other what others can not, sounds like a poem to me. "

“You like poems?”

“Sometimes,”

Silence filled the air again, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was nice. Danny acknowledged how strange his feelings towards Duke were. They had only just met, not even spending an hour together, and yet he was so drawn to him, like a moth to a flame. It was intoxicating and so free to be in the presence of someone he had never seen before tonight.

“Do you feel it too?”

Duke doesn’t even have to explain. Danny knows what he means. The magnetic pull drew him closer and closer. The glow in Duke’s eyes shows a part of him that no one else knows. The comfort and peace he feels just being near each other. He had never felt anything like this before. It scared him and he wanted to dive headfirst into this feeling. To know more about the magic boy next to him.

"Was afraid you didn't,"

Duke smiled at his answer, and Danny was no longer in a hurry to get home. His bed could wait. And if they shared a kiss that night, the stars would not tell.

To See Your Face Again, is to remember you're not really there

'I thought I knew you'

Join Me, he beckoned.

Stay With Me, he cooed.

Love Me, he demanded.

He didn’t need to ask for the last one.

The Phantom had been watching Gotham for some time now, more then he had in his twelve years of terror. Lurking around the domed city, peering in from up above. It got to such a point where Gothamites would travel through the treacherous cave system beneath their city just to escape his gaze.

The Signal wasn’t one of those people of course, he was one of the remaining vigilantes he had to stand tall, a pillar of light in these hard times. In the End Times. Even as Duke Thomas he stood upon the surface, staring up at the Phantom, The Phantom grinning down on him in return. He knew exactly what the monster wanted of course, & at times he wanted to give in, to hold him again, this was one of those few times.

The Phantom waited above the dome, not the highest point but nearby it, waiting patiently, pridefully, maybe even a bit hungrily. Watching as a disturbance in light, invisible to most, made their way to the top of the tower Phantom stood over.

The disturbance sat in the sturdy satellite dish at the top of Wayne Enterprise, positioned just so that they would never be seen from below, they shimmered & became Duke Thomas once more, in a hoodie & jeans, an ecto-gun strapped to his side, a bracelet made specifically to keep The Phantom away. He chose to not look at that one for long.

The Phantom stared at Duke, examining the face he could not often see. Counting the beauty marks sparsely decorating his lovely face. Taking in the scars the Phantom had once adoringly traced, & the ones he’d never touched or seen before. The Phantom wanted so desperately to see Duke’s gold-brown eyes fully, without the wicked green of the dome overlying them.

“You’re not going to say anything?” Duke said glaring up at Phantom. God he hated that smile on Phantom’s face, all lecherous & possessive. It used to be devoted & respectful some many years ago.

“I thought you hated hearing me speak?” Phantom said playfully, moving into a laying position in the air, “But if you want, allow me to try & convince you once more.”

Duke sighed as Phantom began to re-hash the same speech he’d given many a time before.

Join Me, he beckoned.

Stay With Me, he cooed.

Love Me, he demanded.

He didn’t need to ask for the last one.

Most of the time Duke didn’t want to listen, but he couldn’t bring himself to stop coming up here, to stop caring.

He looked up at Phantom & like many times before tried to connect this version to the one he’d known before.

The freckles that where once prominent & dark upon tan skin connected by scars like images in the stars, had blended like blush over pale green skin. Teal blue eyes that sparkled like starlight, where now a matte blood red that held no real light in them. Fangs that once seemed cute & mischievous, had sharpened to the point where they looked to even hurt the one who bore them.

A soul that was no longer happy, but a phantom of it’s former self. Barely the same, in a way it looked like it never had been.

“Duke,’ Phantom said, more focused then before in it’s tone that it Duke pulled out of his musings as he blinked the mirage from his eyes.

“Why must you be so stubborn,’ The Monster said like he always did, ‘I could give you so much, you know that. Puzzles to invigorate the mind made by creatures longer lived then you’ve ever met, stories from dimensions you’ve never even hear of, songs sung by beings you’d barely comprehend. All you’d have to do is be Mine again, My Star, My Light, My Everything.”

He had to hold back from rolling his eyes in annoyance, he was far too tired for this.

“I don’t want that, I don’t need that,” Duke knew he was half to blame for some of this, though his remaining friends & family had said differently. Maybe if he’d reached out to him after the accident sooner, or flown out to Amity to talk him down from the edge, gotten in the way of Vlad adopting him. Maybe this would all be different, maybe he’d truly know who was floating above him.

“And I thought, I knew you,” The Phantom teased, crossing his arms & staring down at Duke as if what he said didn’t set a bomb off in Duke’s heart.

“If you think I’d go with you as you are now… I’m starting to think you never really did,” Duke said, allowing no emotions on to his face, he could feel tears tapping at the back of his eyes insistently.

Phantoms, grinning face turned into one of silent overwhelming annoyance as he glared down at Duke.

“I do know you, and that’s exactly why I need you,’ Sighing The Phantom turned away from the dome, ‘You’re being rather depressing today so I’ll be going, see me again in two weeks & I’ll see if you changed your mind.”

In an instant The Phantom was gone, not even bothering with going invisible, just dropping his tangibility & heading to Amity at mach speeds most likely.

In the new found silence, the only thing Duke could hear was his fast beating heart & shaky breath, tears beginning to run down his face. Staring up at nothing, features pinched with rage, & fear, & most prominently, heartbreak.

“Danny… what happened to you?”

Half of it was that he wasn't there.

aaaaah I'm doing it, I'm gonna post some of my work!

BAM!!

My first time ever posting anything and it's ghostlights, typical. Anyway this was tons of fun to do and I managed to pump this out in like two days. I really hope the smaller details are easy to see bc I had a lot of fun doing things like Dukes heart blush and eyes and Dannys electric scars and it would be a shame if Tumbler crunchifed it too much like Insta usually did.

The prompt I got was Duke is Danny's secret admirer and sharing headphones (that's a lie, it was actually sharing headphones and 1930 but I had no clue how I would do that so I just rerolled and got lucky lol). I might end up doing some more idk I've just never been this inspired before :>

Marc Appreciation Week 2019| Day 7: Future| “Rough Draft“

So yeah, it’s late, but I finished it anyway.  Thanks to everyone who read this and everyone who participated in the event.  Now that I have a bunch of time on my hands, I’m gonna enjoy the heck out of all your guys’ work.

(Exactly 2000 words, because I’m not always as insane as I’ve led you to believe.)

           Desperately, Rose pounded on the door to the house’s basement.

           “Please!” she shouted.  “Anyone!  Help!”

           But she realized it was no use.  No one was coming down to save her.

           All was silent and dark.

           Until she heard a noise from the far corner.

           “Is someone there?” she croaked, squinting in the darkness.

           She didn’t squint for long.  There was a bit of light in the room, though nothing was casting it.  It just existed.

           Then, there shimmered into visibility a floating figure: a woman all in white.  White jumpsuit with a black cross over her chest and chains on her wrists near her gloves, white boots that hovered just above the ground, and a bright white cowl that sucked all other light from the room to feed its glow.  There was no color around the face, mouth, and eyes.  Her hair, which flowed around her head like twisting snakes, was a royal violet.

           Rose knew her immediately.  Akuma or not, she’d know that face anywhere.

           “J… Juleka?” she gasped, horrified.  “It’s you?”

           “Rose.”  The figure sneered.  “Where were you when I needed you?”

           “I…”  She struggled to make her words work.  “I was—”

           “You left. You left me alone with a room full of strangers.”  The villain hovered higher, leering down at her.  “You do know how I get in crowds, right?  Typical; no one even noticed when I started breaking down.  No one even saw the butterfly come to me.”  She grinned maliciously, showing off pointed teeth.  “But they saw me.  And oh, how they screamed.”

           “I-I thought you were having fun.”  Rose backed away from her akumatized girlfriend.  “I thought I’d just keep you from socializing.”

           “I wasn’t having fun!  Or did you think because it was Halloween that the spook was in her element?”

           “I’m sorry!” she bawled.  “I just wanted you to be happy!”

           “I was happy, Rose.”  The specter came close and stared her in the face.  “I was always happy, standing next to you.  Didn’t you see that?”  She held up a gloved finger.  “Don’t answer that.  If you understood…” the chains on her wrists glowed an ominous purple, and her hands clenched into fists, “you wouldn’t have left me alone.”

           “Juleka… I’m sorry.  I didn’t know…”

           Ghostlight narrowed her eyes and raised her arm.  “Too little, too late.”

           Outside, Ladybug had finished tying up the police officers, just as they began to regain consciousness.

           “Alright,” she seethed.  “I’ve been having a bad night tonight, so I’m really not in the mood. Tell me where Ghostlight is right now.”

           One guard blinked awake.  “Ladybug?” he said.  “What are… what happened?”

           Chat Noir cursed.  “She must have released her hold.”

           “Thank goodness,” Reverser panted.  “These guys were tough.  You guys do this all the time?”

           “We face mind-control baddies more often than not,” explained Mighty-Illustrator.  “They always go for one of us heroes, and we’ll end up having to fight them.  Usually Chat.”

           “Hey!” the feline hissed.

           As usual, it was Ladybug’s duty to keep the boys off each other’s throats.  “Possession’s not her main power, though, so it wasn’t as bad as it usually is.  Her poltergeist attacks ripped cars off the street. We’re lucky we’ve got our suits, or there’s no way we would’ve walked away from that.”

           “Yeah, but,” Reverser approached Ladybug, now nearing hysterics, “you’ve got a plan, right?”

           “Almost.  We’ve got to get close enough to land a hit and find her object.”

           Mighty-Illustrator looked back, at a house where many of the occupants were running out of it screaming.  “Well, looks like we’re getting that chance.”

           The heroes looked on as Ghostlight herself appeared in the doorway.  “Well, well,” she snarled.  “Four against one?  I thought superheroes had honor.”

           Ladybug struck a heroic pose.  “So many others have tried to take our miraculous before you, and now our team’s bigger than ever before.  You never stood a chance!”

           “Yeah!” shouted Chat Noir.  “Give up the ghost while you can!”

           “Not so fast, creeps,” their adversary cackled. “There’s been a slight change in plans, courtesy of my good friend Hawk Moth.  Let’s see… if one monster’s too much for the newbie to handle, how will he fare with two?”  She held up two fingers.  “A phantom and a witch.”

           Ladybug grit her teeth.

           She had green skin and pink hair, styled like a blooming flower.  Familiar black garb, complete with a swirling masquerade mask, adorned her, but now she had a new black cloak to match Ghostlight’s.

           “Bonsoir, my pretties,” trilled Princess Fragrance, brandishing her perfume gun.  “Did you miss me?”

           Rose stared at the page, then quickly flipped it back and forth over the back cover.  “There’s no more?” she whispered, flipping through as though searching for another, secret page.  “That’s it?”

           “That’s it,” Nath replied, smiling.  “You like it?”

           “How could you do this!?” she shrieked, almost lunging at the two of them.  “How dare you make me feel things and then stop writing!”

           Juleka laughed from behind him.  “That’s a good sign.  You got to neck-throttle levels of hiatus frustration.”  She leaned back in thought.  “Last one that did that was… was it the Warrior Duchess season 2 finale?”

           Rose spun on her heel.  “Don’t even bring that up.”

           Marc shrugged, fingering his copy of the draft. “Just be glad we got all this in one week.  I mean, it’s not perfect, and we haven’t even colored or proofread it. But, uh, I think it’s pretty good for a first try.”  There was a general chorus of agreement in addition to Rose’s insane cheers.

           “This was so worth putting off the budget meeting,” Marinette said, flipping through her own copy of the rough draft.  “Sorry I haven’t been in much.  But that was really fun, you guys, I can’t wait to see more.”

           “Well, we can’t wait to make more.”  Marc gestured to the issue.  “Consider this a sneak-teaser.”

           “PLEASE!” Rose screamed.  And then, quieter, she added, “But don’t over-stress yourself, your happiness and health are important.”

           Marc smiled.  “I’ll try.”  Nathan nudged him playfully, and he added.   “We’ll try.”

           “But don’t slack either,” Juleka countered, taking another look at Ghostlight.  “Dude, Nath, that’s an awesome outfit.  Way better than that plastic Barbie dress.”

           “Rose was a consultant on that,” her designer confessed.  “Coincidentally, consider it an anniversary gift.  A proper romantic supervillain rampage, coming soon.”

           Rose had stars in her eyes as she looked over at her.  “And sure to be just as cool as how we got together, right Julie?”

           “Yep.  Speaking of…” Juleka started to close the distance.

           “Upupup!” Rose halted, moving backwards and whipping out her phone.  “Wait for…” she checked the time.  “Two more minutes.”

           Nath raised an eyebrow.  “Are you still not allowed to hug each other?  Alix…”

           “Don’t look at me,” the suspect denied.  “Rose served her time already.”

           Juleka jerked her thumb at Rose.  “Yes, but now she wants to wait until our ‘official’ anniversary before I can kiss her again.”

           “May 19,” Rose recalled dreamily.  “2:39 p.m., she kissed me on the cheek in the middle of us taking a selfie.”

           “We both tripped and fell over right as she took it.”

           “It was so dashing of her.”  There was not a trace of irony in that assessment.  “I’ve got it framed over my bed.”

           “Not the worst selfie I’ve ever taken.”

           Marc was the only one who laughed at the punchline. Everyone else only pretended to.

“You didn’t happen to get the exact time I kissed you, did you?” Nath asked.

“Why?” Marc challenged.  “Fancy celebrating our one-day anniversary with a proper date?”

           “If you’d like to.  And if you’re free.  That superhero movie just came out.”

           “I’ve already seen it, though.”

           “Well, would you object to seeing it again?”

           “Not at all.”

           Marinette glanced between the two of them awkwardly. “I missed something, didn’t I.”

           Rose’s phone beeped.  She cheered, “It’s time!  It’s time!”

           “Yes!”  Juleka spread her arms.  Rose gleefully jumped into them, squeezing tight, and the goth peppered the top of her hair with kisses (the benefits of dating someone a head shorter than her).

           “Ugh,” Alix muttered, turning to Nath.  “Promise me you two won’t get like this.”

           “We’ll try,” Marc assured her.  “At least in front of you.”

           “In front of anyone.”  She shuddered.  “Why do sweethearts need to flirt in public?  They’re already together, they don’t need any more prompting.”

           “Well some people can’t help it,” Marc explained.  “I mean, look at his face.  That face was made for flirting.”  He turned to Nath.  “I hope you don’t mind me flirting at that face.”

           “Is that all I am to you?” he asked.  “Just a face?”

           “No… well, actually, yes.  But then I think most of us are faces, aren’t we?”

           “That’s rather bleak, isn’t it?  Treating a mask as the genuine article?”

           “Not really.  If you’ll permit me to wax poetic.”  Marc sat Nath down at a stool and looked at his face.  “You are… two crystal-blue eyes who see me for who I am.  You’re two ears who listen to me and a mouth that converses with me.”  Nathan started to blush in response, which prompted Marc to get closer and touch his cheek.  “Two blushing red cheeks I can hold, gorgeous red hair I can do this to…”  He ruffled up Nathan’s hair.  “And a nose I can do this to…”  He tapped the nose impishly.  “And two lips… well, maybe later.  And you’re the sum of all the expressions of every emotion I’ve seen you act on.  Don’t underestimate a face.  Especially not yours.  While its appearance is subject to change, it remains consistent for whoever uses it.”

           Nathan had turned about as red as his hair.  “Seriously, is that, like, effortless for you?  I don’t really know what to say to that.”

            Marc looked at him, prompting.

            “There’s no way I can top it,” he protested.  “It’s your words… your words are all so beautiful.”  Marc’s eyes won him over, and he sighed.  “Fine.  I’m no good with words, but I’ll try.”  Cheerfully, Marc ushered him off the stool and stole his seat.

           Nathan coughed and began.  “I don’t really think I saw you right.  Not until you were telling me how happy you were when you wrote.  I felt like I had found someone like me.”  He stopped talking, unsure how to proceed and eyeing the others, everyone nose deep in their comic, warily.

           “Hey,” Marc caught his attention.  “Don’t worry about anyone else.  And… I won’t judge anything you say.  Just try saying something.  Anything you want.”

           “We’re both screwed up in our own ways.  You just… you kept coming back, and I’d never be able to do that.             As Rose pulled her aside to fill her in, Nathaniel and Marc went to the back of the room where no one would bother them.  “Way to kill the mood, Alix,” Nath complained.

DOWNLOADING AN APP? NO THANKS!

It seems unhandy, having to download a new app, right? You have no clue how it works, and you might not want to designate the space on your laptop for a program you’ll probably only barely use. Let me tell you a secret: you can use Discord in your browser. That’s right, Discord is an optional download, and clicking any links to join servers will automatically refer you to the browser-side of the app, rather than telling you you have to download anything. Aside from that, Discord is also available for Apple, Android, and Windows Phone OSes.

With that out of the way, I’m gonna go down the benefits and features in quick bulletin points, for easy overview:

SERVERS are separate environments within the app, and the only thing you have to do to start one is click on the (+) on the left side of the app.

TEXT CHANNELS are separate text-based environments within the confines of a server environment, and you can make as many within a server as you’d like. Below this bulletin, I’ll tell you exactly how text channels specifically will benefit your roleplay.

VOICE CHANNELS are separate voice-based environments within the confines of a server environment, and like text channels, there’s an unlimited amount of voice channels you have. This is one of the features of Discord that will be the least used, unless your members are comfortable enough with one another to use it.

PRIVATE CHATS happens when one member engages into a chat with another member separate of the server. This happens in an environment all itself, and guess what! You can have private group chats between specific people, allowing you to have a group chat between your modding crew!

NICKNAMES can be set for each member within the confines of a server environment, meaning that your nickname on one server doesn’t necessarily have to be the same as your nickname on another.

ROLES are separate groups within a server environment; this allows you to have server admins, server moderators, server members, and server guests, and anything in between. Each role can be given separate colours as well as separate permissions, and in the online list, you can show who of a certain role is online or offline, which is handy for members to see if there’s any admins or moderators online.

TEXT-BASED CHANNELS ARE PURE HEAVEN!

So text-based channels are real-time channels, with a list you can look through on the left side of the app. I’ll tell you a good setup for text-based channels that will enhance your roleplay:

WELCOME CHANNEL – as you can invite people into specific channels, if you put up a permanent invite to the welcome channel on the front page of your roleplay, you can allow people who are interested in your roleplay or people in the process of their application to already start interacting with you and your members simply by joining this channel in their browser (hence the guest role, which I’ll say more about later). This means that people can immediately see if they fit in within the social environment of the group, they can ask questions to the group directly, and it makes things a lot less formal.

MEMBERS ONLY CHANNEL – since you can set permissions for separate roles to separate channels, this means there can be a channel where only members can interact with each other. Since nicknames are a thing on the server, people can address each other and know who they’re talking to consistently.

INTRODUCTION CHANNEL – this would be a channel used only for introductions, where people can fill out a short form about who they are, where they’re from, their pronouns, their personal blog, and which characters they play, or whatever information you think everyone should know about everyone. If every member posts in this channel only once, and as things change, edit their message, it’s a very easy overview of who is in the roleplay; since moderators with the permissions can delete messages, whenever members leave the roleplay for one reason or another, their introduction post can be deleted from this channel to give an easy, up-to-date list of who is who.

EVENTS CHANNELS – you know as well as I how difficult it is to para three or more people at once, so events channels can allow for IC interactions within the confines of a certain event, and push a plot or just relationships. It allows many characters to interact with one another at the same time.

Of course, these are just my ideas about how you could set up your Discord channels; if you have any ideas for yourself, go wild!

ROLES AND WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THEM

So I spoke about roles and what they are, but let me give you a breakdown of what type of roles you can include on your Discord servers:

ADMIN ROLES – this role would include every person who moderates the entire roleplay. Obviously they would have all permissions.

MODERATOR ROLES – admins can’t be online at all times, so it’s handy to have one or two moderators on your Discord server that will monitor real-time chat and give the admins information about what’s going on. They could have permissions that allows them to delete and pin messages, and essentially only moderate the Discord server, not the roleplay itself. It’s a good idea to have someone you trust in this role.

MEMBER ROLES – this role would include all the members of the roleplay, obviously. As guests get accepted and become members, it’s just a matter of promoting them into this role.

GUEST ROLES – this role would only have chatting (and viewing) permissions in the “welcome channel”, so they can directly interact with members and admins without having full range of the server.

PRONOUN ROLES – these roles don’t need any special permissions, just have they/them, she/her, and he/him roles that you can assign to members so that other members can easily see how to address their fellow roleplayers!

Have any other roles in mind? These are just ideas! It’s your winter wonderland!

SETTING UP YOUR SERVER

First off, go to this link and create an account. This will put you in the browser-based application, which, aside from push-to-talk in voice channels, has the same capabilities as the downloaded version.

Once you’re all logged in, click on the (+) to make your new server. You’ll be prompted whether you want to join or create a server, and you simply choose ‘create a server’. The next window asks you to name your server, which can be the name of your roleplay, to give the server a region, which I suggest should be your own region, or the region you suspect most of your members will be in. Additionally, you can upload a server icon — if you don’t it’ll be the initials of your server name, as you see the difference in the picture above.

This is your channel list. It’s the default as you make a server, but it can be changed to anything. “#general” can be changed, for instance, to “#welcome_channel”. Clicking on the cog allows you to change the settings of the channel to whatever you want, as well as setting up an instant invite, which link (looks a bit like ‘http://discord.gg/FdEh9e’) you can use on your main page to allow people to join that specific channel to their content.

Click on the name of your server and a drop down menu will appear: click on ‘server settings’ and go down to ‘roles’. This is where you’ll create the roles you want on your server. Everyone automatically starts out in the “@everyone” role, and that will be your guest role. It’s a smart idea to give that particular role permissions only to speak and read the ‘#welcome_channel’. To create a new role, simply press the (+) in the top left corner after ‘roles’. What you want to do with these roles and which permissions you want to give them is entirely up to you.

If you make that every role is separately displayed on the online list, this is what it’ll look like, giving you a good idea who is online, especially if there’s any administrators or moderators online. Furthermore, people can mention an entire role by typing ‘@administrator’, so that everyone in that role gets a push notification, through their browser, their desktop app, or their phone app.

Night CrawlingThe section I just don’t really care to explain! Basically this is a mini-game where your character tries to get in bed with all the women of Amihama!In order to successfully night crawl someone you must 1st make an appointment, which is simple for random women (but annoying) but can be complex for the 7 women who you can night crawl.

After that during the night you must go to the person’s home and find them without getting caught by anyone else in the house. If you’re not sure where the house is within the journal under night crawl it shows the area it’s in, and within that area will be a double heart icon to indicate it’s for the night crawl mission.

When you get to the women both go to the inn and have to fight to undress them (doesn’t everyone wins at this point normally?).

This section details the basic how’s of it, you’re likely going to have to try it out to really grasp it… overall this is a really simple mini-game that you have to do 100 times over for the platinum, so if you’re not going for platinum I’d suggest not really bothering with this mini-game in the 1st place.

Making the appointment

As mentioned above normal girls are different then the named characters, if you’re looking to night crawl a main character look below.

To make an “appointment” speak to any of the female characters and select the bottom option I think I’m in love. From here you need to say the right pickup lines to have her agree to go with you. The 1st two sets of questions I have a decent idea what they do, the next 2 are more about the reaction you get from the girl you’re hitting on and I can’t really say what they do.

The 1st set of lines is about the time of day. The 2nd set of lines is about the women’s age, I think I know what you need to use for which age but some models of NPC’s seem to be able to fit in 2 of the categories. From there depending on their reaction you seem to have to select different options for the next 2 responses… I honestly never found a good pattern to say exactly which option is the right one.

The exact lines are:

I’m listing the 3rd and 4th set but honestly I’m not sure what to select, it’s based on the reaction of the NPC.

Set 3 based on reaction from above:

Set 4 the closer line, likely based on above again but I can’t be sure:

Open your borders. allll of them.

Night Crawl

Now that you’ve set a date it’s time to get her out of her home! I suggest saving before attempting this as the NPC’s can be weird at times. Basically this makes it seem like you’re a kidnapper trying to take their women away! What you have to do here is find the bed that is hiding the women you’re trying to be with and take off the covers of her bed (by pressing square).

You’ll know you’re near the right bed by the turtle in the lower left corner (near your health). As he comes out of his shell you’re close to the right bed… when you’re right beside the right bed he’s completely out of his shell.

All this is made difficult by the other NPC’s that are still awake, if you’re found they’ll either attack you or run to call the thief takers. So …. we don’t want that to happen so we can do one of two things, either stay out of their sight or knock them out. Knocking out an NPC is pretty easy, just get behind them and hold R1 and triangle, if your chop connects they’re knocked out.

What I suggest doing is 1st put the mini-map in the corner so you know where you’re going. Then start going around, trying to see if the turtle reacts (if it does you’re close). When you see an NPC I suggest simply avoiding them if you can… a lot of them are just looking at the wall and will never see you, and if you knock them out they’ll make a sound as they hit the ground somewhat alerting others. If the NPC is patrolling then it’s a decent option to knock them out, just move on fast. When you do find the right area get close to the bed’s, you should be able to tell if they’re right just by getting close.

Now if an NPC does find you make sure to knock them out fast. If they start attacking you try to circle them to knock them out. If they go for the thief takers chase them, they eventually take a knee (since no one apparently has any stamina) for you to catch them. If they manage to leave the house you’ll need to either find your target fast or get ready to leave since as soon as the thief takers come you either end it by leaving the house or getting caught, you fail either way when they appear.

Sexy time

Yup that’s right the final part to successfully night crawl someone is called sexy time. Apparently you need to fight the girl you’re night crawling to remove her clothing. You can do this in one of 2 ways, either attacking with square until she runs out of health or use the grab (R1 + triangle ) and throw her onto the bed. All the while you’re doing this your partner will attack you as you get near them, you have a limited amount of health but if you do have some Medicines you’ll use them if you run out of health.

If you’re night crawling a normal women it really doesn’t matter what you try, the square combo will likely win the entire match if it all connects. If you’re night crawling one of the main character they’ll have a LOT of health. So it’s far better to simply grab and throw them.

to throw an enemy I generally try getting near them to get them to attempt a move while being far enough away not get hit, the delay for the “partner’s” move should let you grab them no problem and throw them, if you didn’t manage to get them on the bed try again as normally I can grab them a 2nd time if needed… but that can be hard to aim.

Once you’ve managed to undress your partner you win! Afterwards you’re outside the inn being given a random item and most of your vitality will be gone.

Main female character appointments

Below is a list of how to night crawl all the female characters in the game

Nightcrawl Mayu

For all 3 sister you must get arrested 3 times at a specific crime rate. Basically you must endure their form of torture 3 times, the last time you must get a high score (above 100 I believe) and they’ll set a date that night. All 3 of them have the same layout for night crawling, they’ll be up the stair in the north-east corner of the building.

For Mayu the crime rate must be good or great.

Nightcrawl Chika

See above, for Chika you must keep the crime rate neutral. This can be annoying since you need to commit crimes to get arrested.

Nightcrawl Yuri

See above, for Yuri the crime rate must be bad or very bad.

Nightcrawl Melinda

Melinda is really annoying to get, basically you must defeat her with blunt attacks in every event possible she’s in, and find her after the battle tournament. I’m going to write a step by step because of the possibility of just missing one event so…

This method involved closing the hospital, if you want to keep the hospital open you’ll have to re-open it on another playthough.

My Method:

1) Harbor – Amihama Harbor Skirmish

-Be sure to tell Akagi to “Take your hands off her!” when prompted and beat the Prajna fast enough so you have to fight Akagi, Melinda then Kotobuki.

2) Little Britain – Audience with the Littlest Public Servant

Simple intro event.. which you’re going to ruin by drawing your blade on Melinda! Remember you need to use blunt attacks against her from here on it, as she will die if you use regular attacks.

3) Toasty Truth Bar (Town) – Violent Behavior of the Marine Corps

Get rid of the marines, then attack Melinda.. Akemi is a little scared of this failing the event… but that doesn’t matter.

4) Shrine – Sneaking into the Magistrate’s Office

-Doesn’t matter how you do this, you can get one crate and leave or go for more to earn more money.

-For this method you must close the hospital as you fight Melinda during it.

5) Magistrate – Denying Western Medicine or Plan to Shut Down the Hospital

Easy fights, just be sure to take cash from the sisters as playing with them would be them torturing you… not much of a reward imo, but if you’re into it…

-If the language school is OPEN and you want to keep it open, skip the next event by sleeping either at the inn (if you’re concerned about crime rate) or on one of the mats outside

6) Shrine – We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Language School! or The Lecturer Is a Dead Man

Simple events, click the links for details if you need em.

-If the Casino is OPEN and you want to keep it open, skip the next event by sleeping either at the inn (if you’re concerned about crime rate) or on one of the mats outside

7) Shrine – Destroy the Casino or Put an End to the Casino’s Reconstruction

Simple fights, J.J. seems to not care enough about his casino.

8) Main Plaza – Chief Minister Onsen Kinugawa

Auto event but don’t draw your sword, but you can enjoy a random comment or two.

9) Shrine – Washing Blood With Blood

Agree to help

10) Toasty Truth Bar (Town) – Kill the Traitor

This won’t be important for the ending, but do the next few events so that the Prajna will support you for the tournament.

11) Cemetery – The Truth

You don’t have to kill Akemi here really, we’re not going for the ending.. but do so if you want.

12) Harbor – Break the Snare

Spare Moro if you like, doesn’t matter for getting Melinda in bed…

-auto event The Chief Minister’s Big Move-

13) Shrine – Blades of the Patriots

Agree to being in the tournament under the Prajnas name.

14) Main Plaza – Battle Tournament Opens and We Are the Champions

Be sure not to kill Melinda in the final round… otherwise this is the same as always, finish the 3 fights then leave the tournament grounds saying “I wish to be excused”

15) Main Plaza – inside the restaurant on the east side of the area

Melinda will be in here say to her “Because I want to fight you again.” to set the date!

Save before attempting to night crawl Melinda. The area will be crawling with marines and blondies… anyways Melinda will be in the south-west corner room… it’s hard to get here without being spotted so you might want to rush it but to each his own.

Nightcrawl Akemi

To night crawl Akemi 1st thing we need to do is give her fish. 10 to be exact most types will work, some don’t (she doesn’t like crawfish for example).

Doesn’t matter when this is done so long as it’s done before the event The Truth. And since we need to see that event following my guide for The Flames of Prajna is what I’d recommend. Save after step 10 the event Kill the traitor (it’s your last chance since it locks you into doing the night crawling after the next event).

At step 11 instead of saying you overheard her say in order when prompted:

So, there are actually four sisters… It’s dangerous out here, May I escort you? Let me escort you to your bedroom.

Which apparently works… anyways you’ll be in the bar, upstairs to nightcrawl but you can’t leave the bar as time advances if you do.

Akemi will be in the southern most room, in the western bed.

Nightcrawl Laura

Do events for the foreigners until day 3 midday (follow my ending guides Setting Off to Foreign Lands if you want step by step, basically up to step 10).

After you get Laura her medicine completing the event The Ambassador Collapses it might not be required but speak to J.J.

Leave Little Britain so it becomes night and come back, The lost and found shop below the tracks should have an item for sale called mysterious key. Purchase this and then save (just in case you’re caught).

You now need to enter the consulate, but you can’t get close to J.J. so hug the east side wall and you should get in without triggering the event. From there go to Laura’s room on the 2nd floor to attempt to nightcrawl her.

She’ll always be on the west side room of the house, but there are a lot of Blondies/ marines here, so I suggest just running past them to the bed Laura’s in.

Now I’m pretty sure the somewhat comical event that happens next is the only possible thing that can happen… for clear reasons they took out the ability to do it with Laura…

Nightcrawl Sensei

First and foremost Sensei must not be at the dojo at the start of a playthough where you intend to night crawl her. So if she’s at the dojo you’ll have to kill her.

I suggest following The Light of Hope ending path and just going as far as getting Akagi to the hospital, as it’s easier then the other endings to deal with Getting Sensei, however you can work getting her in any ending.

Once she is at your dojo you need to get a 5 star rating. It doesn’t matter who’s in your dojo just so long as they’re good quality (see Dojo section for tips of who to get). When you get the 5 star rating with Sensei at your dojo speak with her and say:

Glady. Any time!

Go to the road, before the fight say to Sensei:

I’m listening… Partake of my loins.

Defeat her with the back of your sword and speak with her, you should get the scene that you made the appointment.

Sensei will be in the north-west corner of this house, once again there are a lot of towns people here, you’ll likely be caught, so run past them and get Sensei out of bed!

Main male character appointments

All you need for all the guys is the right style, Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts. To get this style you must have a 5 star dojo with all females. There’ll be a challenger who uses it.

Equip this style and attack one of the below 7 male characters. Doesn’t need to be a blunt attack and you should see a unique animation when you attack.

Nightcrawl Shigeru Moro

Moro is easy enough to find we normally is in the Magistrate area. Find him beat him with Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts until he agrees to go with you.

Nightcrawl Reddo Akagi

Akagi and Kogure both are normally in the Shrine area except during certain events. Again using the Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts beat him till he agrees to it.

Nightcrawl J.J.

J.J. spends pretty much all his time in the consulate in Little Britain. Find him and use the Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts to get him to go with you.

Nightcrawl Jinrai Kogure

Akagi and Kogure both are normally in the Shrine area except during certain events. Again using the Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts beat him till he agrees to it.

Nightcrawl Hikaru Kotobuki

Kotobuki spends all his time at the Magistrate inside the building. Attacking with the Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts to set the date with him.

Nightcrawl Gunji Dojima

It’s a lot easier to get Dojima as your smith so he’s always in Town. Once again attack with the Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts until he agrees to the date.

Nightcrawl Onsen Kinugawa

Kinugawa can be rather annoying to get since he isn’t always there. I suggest following the Road to Ruin ending, after step 10 the event The Chief Minister & The Three Sisters you can find him upstairs in the center area. So for the final time attack him with the Nightly Pleasure Martial Arts style till he agrees to go with you.

Prompt Submissions for the first event!

The first event on this blog will be Blind Date With A Prompt!

For this event, participants will use a random prompt generator (to be made and shared soon) to create a piece of fanwork centered around Duke Thomas and Danny Fenton. The relationship can be depicted as platonic or romantic, so long as the focus is on the two of them. Additional characters may also be added, so long as they are not the focus of the piece.

Before we can get into all that, though, we need to get prompts for the event! Here (and linked below) is the form where you can submit up to three prompts.
