��Steve has been able to see ghosts for as long as he can remember and he has gotten really good at pretending he cannot. It is how he protects himself. Best not speak to the dead lest he end up like his great aunt Tilda, spending his days in a psychiatric home of ill repute being force fed pills until all he can do is drool and babble. Steve is a master at keeping his face schooled when they are around, at pretending he cannot hear their whispered voices as he goes about his day to day.

   Ghosts are shadows of their former selves, misty like for the most part but the more at peace they are with death the more opaque they appear to be. Occasionally a ghost will wander into his home. A girl that passed in his freshman year had wandered around the place for a solid month before moving on to a new haunt. Steve still sees her wander the halls of the school around dances yelling at couples when one of them is cheating. She is not the first ghost or the last, Barb thankfully had not lingered after she died in his pool, he only had to see her when Nancy dragged him around to her parents’ house.

   Steve is not prepared for what he finds today though. Walking into his room and seeing Billy Hargrove standing next to it stripping his cock nearly breaks his composure. He quickly changes his plans for the afternoon, walking in and dropping his work vest before walking right back out, closing the door behind him. He scurries back down to the kitchen and makes himself a snack while mentally freaking out about Billy masturbating in his bedroom.

   He manages to act fairly normal, Billy not coming down stairs helping him maintain his composure. When he finally goes back upstairs Billy is gone and Steve readies himself for bed. He lays on the side Billy had stood over and fists his cock thinking about it. Billy is suspiciously very silent.

“Why do you think he doesn’t like you?” Don’t you like him?

“Well he was always just...a bit of a prick, really.”

“He’s always a bit of a prick, it’s how he shows affection,” it’s a complete joke, Eddie doesn’t mean it at all, but the moment it’s out of his mouth he’s hit with a realization. Do you like Steve?

“Oh...he’s...I think he was mean to you because he liked you?”

Steve frowns, “what, like pulling my hair and running away? Did he...did he say that?”

“No. He’s being real quiet, and he’s never really quiet so that makes me think I’m right-” Oh my god. Yes. Fine. Happy now? “- I am right. Steve and Billy, sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G-”

Billy sighs, real loud, really put upon. Steve blushes and looks at where Eddie is still holding his fingers.

Billy had been dead for a year, but Steve found a way to bring him back, or at least temporarily.

Steve rolled out of bed, still tired since it was only 5 am. He dragged his feet to the kitchen and opened the top cabinet, screaming and jumping back as Billy was sticking his face through the back side of the cabinet, smiling at Steve.

"Morning, Sunshine." Billy laughed. Steve waved his hand through Billy's face, "You need to start warning me when you randomly show up, asshole." He grabbed a cereal box out of the cabinet then slammed the door on Billy's face. Billy floated out, now standing on the ceiling in front of Steve as Steve was pouring his cereal in a bowl.

"Come on, get down from there." He giggled, swatting at Billy's hand, his smile fading as it just went through Billy.

Billy gave a half smile, hovering his hand over Steve's. "Don't get too depressed, pretty boy. I'll be back soon. You know that."
