the number of Americans who think they can just move to somewhere else - my social media feeds everywhere (except tumblr, but I’ve seen it here too) is flooded with Americans asking whether they qualify as citizens bc their great great grandpa was from [insert European country] or which area in Scotland has best weather or which southern European country has cheapest rent or how to get a marriage visa to a Nordic country

my dudes. you can’t. there’s no “I’ll just move elsewhere” about this. Europe generally speaking is hostile to immigrants even from within Europe. unfortunately for you, you will have to stay and keep voting and keep working to make your country a better place. I’m sorry it’s hard. it is what it is.

ok i have done extremely well at not getting stressed out about the election and instead getting stressed about work for most of the day but it just fucking hit me :/

#nonironically i will leave the usa if trump gets in #i will just not renew my visa and get a job in europe or move back to nz #which would suck complete ass bc i like my job here and where i’m living #but being 1) a woman 2) queer and 3) an immigrant with trump is in charge would be miserable and potentially dangerous #so i’m not going to hang around for it

Cannot cannot CANNOT take any more both sides-ism from some of my family over a literal genocide. We're so fucking far past this being anything close to a war. I'm so mad I wish Gen X'ers were better at finding sources from citizen journalists instead of just reading official media reports from the USA and our allies. Losing my fucking faith in humanity one willfully neutral person at a time
