Do we think Jordan has siblings ?

Because during episode 3, their dad was saying "You are my firstborn son", which implies that Jordan's not his only "son". If so, then Jordan has younger siblings. I wonder how they're placed in the family's problem of Jordan's parents not being accepting of their gender identity.

I personally feel like they would be accepting since it's been like that for a long time, if we're thinking about the fact Marie developing her powers at the time she got her period (so around probably 11/14 years old) is considered late. So Jordan has probably always been bigender to them, not just a boy.

Plus, can you imagine how Jordan would be with their siblings, like always hyping them up in whatever they're doing and supporting and validating them in a way that would make them feel more accepted that they were ?

I'm also thinking about how the sentence "You're my firstborn son" ticked in my head and made me think about the fact Jordan's family is probably very traditional about legacy. Like Firstborn son ? Who says that nowadays ? I think Jordan comes from a wealthy family, that's like passing the legacy from father to son, or something.

Or maybe I'm going too far on this one...

1. I was dared to quote a line/paragraph/fragment from my own writing that I love, bonus points if I can say why I love it.

He purposely uses the icebreaker and hopes against all odds she’d understand his humor and ridiculous attempt to fill the air between them and the hot tub jets.

Anetra knows it works in his favor as soon as he spots the smile forming on her lips paired with the shake of her head.

I was rereading tripping, falling, with no safety net and smiling at it.. I loved how I captured the awkwardness and overthinking going on in Anetra's head! Not wanting to sit too far away but also would sitting too close to Sasha be weird? when they met not so long ago? Portraying the crush and admiration they have for one another, Sasha providing comfort when he's doubting his place in the competition. It was sweet and I've been thinking about cc sashnetra a lot recently since I've been rewatching season 15. I know what happens, I have their whole love story mapped out tbh. I just suck at sitting down and writing

i’m asian so while i could say that yeah the firstborn son is definitely a flag for maybe them having siblings

but the thing on a wealthy family? firstborns matter to most traditional asian families regardless of status, they’re viewed as general successors to the family and are the most important of the children because it’s like, well they’re the firstborn and they’re a guy, they have the most prospect in life. they’re expected to be the most successful and the most reliable because they’re the man of the house second to their father.

the children born first are expected to be the ones to take care of everyone. which is why it’s so important to them that jordan stay a boy, because as a boy they have more opportunities and more chances to be successful than a girl would (also the traditional view that girls can’t be successful).

also something about women only getting married and men bringing in the cash

for me, my family’s not particularly rich but the firstborn thing matters a lot to us.

so jordan’s parents saying “firstborn son” isn’t necessarily a marker or wealth. what is though is their ability to buy 2 tickets to brink’s funeral/wake/fundraiser.
