50 ONE LEVEL CAREERS: Storytelling careers megapack by isy's the snake
Tumblr media
Here is yet another career mod pack, but this one has no promotions, you just work and your job level stays at 1. As the title say this mod is best for story telling!
creator's notes-
This mod requires XML Injector by Scumbumbo. You can find it here. Pay attention if you don't already have it for another mod! In that case, you do not need to re-install it. Be sure it is updated for the last patch.
XML Injector is a mod required for some mods to work. So, you install it as any other mod in your Mods folder, no more than one subfolder deep.
This mod has been updated for the version 1.99.305 of the game (second update after Horse Ranch).
It doesn't required any DLC to work. Base game compatible
I've adopted this mod from the amazing ItsKatato who, due to her hiring at EA, couldn't continue to mod. I have made some changes: • I have changes all the pics of the careers — now they all show Sims (please check the credits paragraph at the end to see who was the amazing raccoon who helped me); • I have updated the mod for the Horse Ranch patch; • I have cleared ALL the tuning errors; • Fixed the description of some careers who appeared to be missing.
Now, here we go with the explanation of the mod (originally written by ItsKatato, edited by me):
Katato said: "Have you ever had a story planned out for your sims but you can't find the perfect career for them? Most of the time when I find the career it ends up being a complicated career with a bunch of promotion tasks and extra stuff. Well, I've made a pack of a bunch of single-level careers. All your sim has to do is go to work, that's it. This is perfect for the non-important sims in your life, like the forgotten children of your legacy challenge." In short: those are 50 careers you can use for NPCs Sims or random Sims you do not want to care about. As Amethyst said: "Go to work, make money, leave me alone". Your Sims won't need any task to perform to upgrade and get a promotion, as well as they do not really need an ideal mood to go to work since it won't change their performance. They just go and do their job. And now the list of all careers:
1. Anesthetiologist 2. Cartographer 3. Chiropractor 4. Compliance Officer 5. Data Scientist 6. Dental Hygienist 7. Dentist 8. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer 9. Financial Advisor 10. Financial Manager 11. Genereal Surgeon 12. Genetic Counselor 13. Home Health Aide 14. Information Security Analyst 15. IT Manager 16. Interpreter And Translator 17. Lawyer 18. Marriage And Family Therapist 19. Massage Therapist 20. Mathematician 21. Mechanical Engineer 22. Medical And Health Services Manager 23. Nurse Anesthetist 24. Nurse Practitioner 25. Obstetrician And Gynecologist 26. Occupational Therapist 27. Operations Reasearch Analyst 28. Optometrist 29. Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeon 30. Orthodontist 31. Orthotist And Prosthetist 32. Atlantis Expedition: Science Division Departments - Medical Department
Continuing from my starting post here, I'm now breaking things down by department, beginning with the Medical Department.
I did end up heavily revising this department after the commentary on the general departments post, and also after a lot of looking up of the actual divisions of medical specialties. So, first, the (new) numbers:
> Head: Carson Beckett (later, Jennifer Keller, later, whomever) > Contains: Surgery, psychiatry, physical therapy > Function: Maintaining health of expedition members > Examples of function: surgeries, medical prescriptions, recuperation from injuries, mental stability > Personnel quantity: 1 (Head) + 10 (surgical team) + 5 10 (nurses non-surgical team) + 1 (psych) + 1 (phys. therapy) + 1 (anesthesiologist) (grouped under non-surgical team) = 19 23 total > A/N: Nurses have training in medications and physical therapy, surgical team also doubles as general practitioners
Information carried over from the first post, with struck text indicating revisions. The new total is 23, and the author's note is now irrelevant in light of new information. Mostly.
After doubling the amount of nurses, realizing "nurse" is a very broad category of medical professional with multiple definitions and aspects of job duties in multiple countries, I did a bit of renaming of the teams within this department: surgical, non-surgical, and miscellaneous (sorry guys).
Something I had realized was that this was not going to be a typical medical department (duh, in hindsight). These people are all going through the SGC, and the SGC quite likely not already has their own training protocols in place for dealing with SGC-specific situations, but also adapted technology from Goa'uld tech. What is Goa'uld tech? Appropriated Ancient tech, but without the gene component - fascinating, but also a post for another time.
This did inform how I revised which personnel to include, their specialties, and their duties. You're not exactly going to be shoving a whole MRI machine through a gate, so a radiologist isn't going to be a necessary specialty. Because of this, there's going to be a lot more cross-training, and more of a focus that's similar to what Atlantis would actually operate as: a forward operating base.
So, on to the teams (commentary included).
Surgical Team
> Personnel quantity: 10 > Minimum education: Doctorate in Surgery (ChM) > All of these people are already trained in basic medical knowledge and practices, and also overall surgical practices in different areas of the body
Specialties
> Neurosurgery > Dentistry | Oral and maxillofacial surgery  » In the US, trained to do general anesthesia and deep sedation > Orthopedics  » Musculoskeletal > Trauma surgery  » Can contain combat surgeons  » 2x of these > OBGYN > Urology > Cardiothoracic  » 2x of these, by speciality:   ⇛ Cardiovascular surgeon    ⟹ "involving the heart and the great vessels"   ⇛ Thoracic surgeon    ⟹ involving the lungs, esophagus, thymus, etc. > Surgical technologist  » "In the military they perform the duties of both the circulator and the scrub."  » Creates and maintains a sterile surgical environment  » Anticipates the work a surgeon needs to do  » Walking compendium of surgical techniques and stitches
I had wavered a bit on qualifications, and thus who to include - at the end of the day, it was probably going to be on an American standard, given the physical location of SGC. This meant I got to do a nifty thing of having my oral/maxillofacial surgeon be the dentist that's also an anesthesiologist, even if this is apparently considered odd in many other countries.
Mostly I wanted to go by section of the body, and see what kind of specialties there were, and what did and did not overlap. Surprisingly, it was more difficult to figure out who did abdominal surgeries than it was neurosurgery or dental surgery, hence two people in cardiothoracic surgery and two "general" surgeons in the form of trauma surgery because, again, forward operating base - they have no idea what Atlantis will be, so some assumptions will need to be made and better to err on the side of caution.
In a more delicate but still very necessary subject, one OBGYN (obstetrics and gynecology) and one urologist (aka urinary system and male reproductive system). For various obvious reasons, everyone's health in this area still needs to be taken care of, so it's better to have them on the team than politely handwave the idea.
Neurosurgery, for an obvious reason - it's highly specialized and without significant overlap, while also being a critical function on a surgical team with the demands the Atlantis Expedition will likely face.
Orthopedics are musculoskeletal, or deals with muscles and the skeletal system. A fair amount of what they do has overlap (see: trauma surgeons), but having someone specialized for the particularities of setting bones and handling surgeries on things like the joints is incredibly useful when presuming setting up camp in an active combat zone (which they really, really did).
Trauma surgeons are, more or less, the ones that you would see in an emergency situation - acute situations and their injuries are their specialty, and for this expedition likely the head of the surgical team by dint of their training to assess a patient quickly and develop a care plan very quickly. Because of this, I found the overlap of combat surgeons immensely helpful, which means that there's a significant probability that this surgical team has military personnel assigned to it. These surgeons are also the ones most likely to be SGC-imported, and trained to deal with things like injuries from Goa'uld and Goa'uld devices.
All these very highly-trained people, who are all probably very, very smart - who supports them? As it turns out, at least in the operating theater, not the nurses, but surgical technologists.
Surgical technologists main job, at least here, would be to set up the operating theater and anticipate whatever it is a surgeon needs in assistance. This includes things like training on a wide variety of surgical techniques (i.e. stitches), disinfection procedures, and medications such as anesthesia (ish). I included the quote about military duties because it saves money on how many people to include in the expedition, and penny-pinching is the backbone of any hiring process.
Now, the surgical team is all done! That's ten people right there, and on to the non-surgical team.
Non-Surgical Team
> Personnel quantity: 10  » 5 Technicians/Nurses, 5 Non-Surgical Medical Specialists
Nurses
> (Advanced Practice) Nurses  » 5x of these  » Registered Nurse   ⇛ As the general minimum educational and experimental requirement  » Perioperative nursing   ⇛ Assists surgical team, helps with pre- and post-surgical patients  » Emergency nursing   ⇛ Can do triaging, suturing, casting/splinting, local/regional anesthesia, and other doctoral skills as needed   ⇛ Likely the SGC training model incorporates all of the above, and also training on medical technology adapted from Goa'uld healing technology (which is really Ancient but without the ATA gene lock)    ⟹ Radiology tech    ⟹ MRI tech (which is radiology but a bit to the left)    ⟹ Other adapted diagnostic equipment
Non-Surgical Medical Specialists
> Pathology  » 2x of these  » Coordinates with Life Science Department to develop diagnoses for novel diseases (in the Pegasus galaxy) > Internal medicine | Internists  » 2x of these > Anesthesiology  » For everything the OMS people don't do in terms of anesthesiology  » See also: Anesthesia (topic)
Remember how I said the qualifications were a doozy, and that nurses were a broad category? ... Yeah, this is why. The medical field is probably current in flux right now, given the shifting priorities of medical personnel and so much research that is still in the process of being applied, but I waved my magic plot-fixing wand and assumed the SGC figured this out for me.
All of these nurses are likely to be SGC imports, and thus unbelievably well-trained in everything that the SGC needs them to do. These are the personnel who know how all of the Goa'uld tech works on a functional level, have gotten the goodies first from engineering, and are waving their handheld MRI and other diagnostic equipment over their patients like a fairy godmother in scrubs. As with a real world hospital, these are the people actually running the show, and likely making the surgical team look like hypercompetent show poodles.
As for non-nurses who are also non-surgeons, pathologists are the ones who work up what people will actually be diagnosed with, figuring out all the newest and shiniest diseases and cataloguing them for reference. Doctor Biro is a pathologist, for example.
The thought occurred to me that we still need something resembling a general practitioner, but in light of fancy things like handheld MRIs and other scanners, this role is much reduced in favor of people who pack a greater intellectual punch.
However, I found that internists not only fill this gap, but are also hyper-specialized in their own way, in the respect of their knowledge base being internal diseases and multi-system diseases. Ergo, two of them, because they're just that useful. They'd probably coordinate quite a bit with cardiothoracic surgeons, as those are overlapping areas of study based on region of the body.
One (1) anesthesiologist, because the OMS cannot - nor should they - be the only person to perform anesthesia. This person functions as a sanity checker, and also the thin margin of the anesthesia that the surgeon doesn't cover.
We still need to round out this department, though. So far I've managed to cover in-patient, out-patient, and the various surgical stages. What else?
Well, recuperation - patients can't actually linger in the infirmary for the entirety of their healing process, for such practical reasons as beds available and boredom of patient, so the transitional phase needs to be covered.
Hence, the highly uncreative placeholder section name of Miscellaneous:
> Psychiatrist  » 1x of these, because canon says so? > Physical therapist  » 1x of these, because canon says so?
Now while personnel such as nurses and internists are meant to convey educational material and instructions to patients about recuperation, it helps to actually have specialists on hand to make the patients commit to the bit.
Having only one psychiatrist on hand seems a bit of a Star Trek logical fallacy, but I'm once again waving my plot wand and assuming anyone that managed to get through the arduous employment process of 1) being told the Stargate exists (and coping with their world views being upended), 2) being employed by the SGC in general, and 3) passes their psychological assessment is probably mentally stable enough to only need one psychiatrist for the entire expedition.
(Yes, this does mean everyone on the expedition got their rubber stamp of sanity, and probably in grueling triplicate. Such as it can be defined a fanfiction-like world of scifi. I think they're coping pretty well with everything, no?)
With all the work that the surgical and non-surgical teams put into taking care of injured expedition members, a physical therapist is, as with everyone else here, very good at their job, but ultimately one of the last steps for patients that require longer term care. Think gaining back muscle after a broken leg, or more serious injuries that require months of guided exercise to be back to gate team-ready health (or general running for your life because Atlantis is just as dangerous).
Total Medical Department Personnel
Head of Department: 1
Surgical Team: 10
Non-Surgical Team: 10
Miscellaneous: 2
Total total: 23
I'll be going over headcanons on canonical personnel, such as Carson Beckett, Jennifer Keller, and Biro in their own posts, but for now this is a general accounting of the expedition's medical department.
Shout-out to @savestave and @stinalotte for the discussion and feedback on the original post!

So my cat broke a lower fang clean off. I'm already going to take him for bloodwork tomorrow to prepare for extraction, but the best I can do for earliest dental extraction is next week without paying over $1000 at an emergency clinic, which I can't afford. I called many places. The receptionists didn't sound alarmed for my cat though, so that makes me wonder. While google says that a broken tooth can be an emergency, how risky is it to get it extracted a week later? I'm not planning on saving his tooth either. That I know is time sensitive.
vet-and-wild here.
Maybe it's a regional thing, but where I'm at we don't consider a broken tooth an emergency. I'd be curious to know where you're located (you don't actually have to tell us, I just think what you said is really interesting) because I can't imagine any ER around me being willing to extract a tooth. They'd probably prescribe pain meds and antibiotics and recommend follow up with a general practitioner. The reason a broken tooth is concerning is that if there is exposure of the pulp cavity (where the nerves and vessels are) it can lead to potential pain and infection. Sometimes we find a broken tooth on a physical exam just by chance. We don't know when it happened and the owner is surprised to hear that it happened at all because the animal isn't showing symptoms. We still recommend removal if there is exposure of the pulp cavity, because it could lead to further problems. And tooth pain sucks.
The only time we have to try to rearrange our schedule for a dental to get it done sooner is if the animal's teeth are so bad it isn't eating, or there is a broken tooth causing severe pain/infection. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had that happen, and of course one of them was my own dog. Otherwise, we can generally schedule it as a routine dental. Dentals with tooth extractions are pretty involved procedures so it's not something we can do at the drop of a hat. Unless a tooth is already super loose, we often have to burr away bone and make gingival flaps to get the tooth out. It also rarely makes sense (both from a financial and practical perspective) to just extract a single tooth and not do the rest of the dental (i.e. dental x rays, scaling and polishing, probing, etc) so we also have to account for that time too.

You claim Alec was taught to brush his teeth regularly, which I find surprising. Do you think he’s vaccinated ?
HUH? you might have the wrong acc--wait what am i saying. there's not a single other person on tumblr who would discuss alec vasil's teeth-brushing habits. you don't have the wrong account but you must have read a post wrong because i've only ever talked about how alec has atrocious dental hygiene (despite his current best attempts) & in fact frequently went months on end without brushing as a child. I am genuinely not sure if there's plausible cause for him to be vaccinated now. i guess like. maybe he went to the illegal general practitioners coil provided for them for the first time and they were like. ok and are you up to date on your vaccines. and he was like. Uh. and thats the story of how alec vasil got like 15 vaccines in one day. on a tangentially related note i think there are nonzero odds alec has some kind of mundane allergy that literally almost killed him as a child because he ate the allergen and was provided absolutely no medical care upon finding himself nearly unable to breathe. i'm great at making up random traumatic childhood memories for alec it comes naturally to me

Importance of Dental software
Feeling overwhelmed managing appointments, patient records, billing, and insurance on top of providing excellent patient care? Dental practice management software (DPMS) can be your secret weapon!
Think of DPMS as your digital assistant, streamlining these tasks and freeing up valuable time for what matters most: focusing on your patients' smiles.
Here's how DPMS can revolutionize your dental practice:
Boost Efficiency: DPMS automates tasks like scheduling, billing, and recordkeeping, allowing you and your staff to dedicate more time to patient interaction.
Ditch the Paperwork: Say goodbye to overflowing file cabinets! Electronic records save space and make patient information readily accessible.
Enhanced Patient Communication: Improve communication with features like automated appointment reminders and online patient portals.
Smoother Financial Management: Streamline billing with automated processes and insurance verification, leading to faster and easier collections.
Inventory Management Made Easy: DPMS helps you track dental supplies and equipment, reducing waste and ensuring you have what you need when you need it.
Data-Driven Decisions: Generate insightful reports on patient demographics, treatment trends, and practice performance, empowering you to make informed decisions for your practice.
Choosing the Right DPMS: Cloud-Based vs. On-Premise
There are two main types of DPMS: cloud-based and on-premise. Understanding the differences is crucial for selecting the best fit for your practice.
Cloud-Based Dental Practice Management Software:
Imagine accessing software through the internet. Your data is securely stored on the vendor's servers and is accessible from any device with an internet connection.
Benefits:
Easy Setup and Maintenance: No software installation or server management needed. Updates are automatic.
Scalability: Grows with your practice – easily add users or features as needed.
Accessibility: Access patient information and manage your practice from anywhere, anytime.
Ideal for: Smaller practices, solo practitioners, or those who value flexibility and remote access.
On-Premise DPMS:
Traditional software installed directly on your practice computers. You have complete control over the data stored on your servers.
Benefits:
Customization: May offer more customization options for specific workflows.
Data Security: Some dentists prefer having complete control over their data on-site.
Drawbacks:
Higher Upfront Costs: Requires purchasing software licenses and server hardware.
IT Maintenance: Relies on in-house IT expertise or external support for updates and maintenance.
Scalability: Scaling up can be complex and requires additional hardware and software licenses.
Ideal for: Larger practices with dedicated IT staff or those who prioritize complete on-site data control.
The Bottom Line:
The best DPMS choice depends on your practice size, budget, and IT capabilities. Cloud-based solutions offer ease of use and scalability, while on-premise systems provide more customization and potential data control. Consider your priorities and consult with DPMS vendors to find the perfect fit for your dental practice.

After four years as a faculty member at SRM Dental College, I became a full-time dental practitioner and took over Dr Amarnathan's Dental Care in 2001. Since then, I've divided my time between the two sites, mornings in Guduvanchery and evenings in East Tambaram, handling administrative and professional responsibilities.
Following Dr. Amarnathan's footsteps, I adhere to the three golden commandments in letter and spirit: 'Uncompromising Quality Service', 'Loving Care', 'Total Patient Satisfaction', 'Completely Satisfying Results', and 'Complete Solution.

Meals, chronic, doctor 👀
Tumblr media
meals: how many meals does my muse eat a day? what do they generally consist of?
Orin tends to eat 2 meals per day, though it does fluctuate. Most days he doesn't have a real breakfast. Usually it's just coffee to start the day, but when he is occasionally hungry in the morning there's a place near his apartment that has some pretty stellar bagels which he'll get if he remembers. Most days he'll work through the usual lunch time, but around 2:30-3 he'll eat something, most likely whatever's convenient. His secretary sometimes packs something extra with her for lunch since she knows he'll be sniffing around for something later in the day, and he's a much more agreeable person when he's not hungry. When he's feeling generous he has ordered lunch for the both of them. Dinner is much more varied. Since he lives alone he tends to keep things pretty simple. Sandwiches, pasta, eggs...though he will go out and have dinner when he's got a date, and sometimes he'll get himself something to take home on the way there after work. Despite all this, he is actually a decent cook having been taught how by his mother, but most of those recipes are for multiple people and doesn't exactly entertain much. Still, sometimes he'll cook a bunch of food when he's got a case of the "too much energy" and will divide it up into portions to eat over however long it lasts.
Tumblr media
chronic: does my muse have any chronic health conditions / illnesses? how do these affect them from day-to-day?
Physically Orin is pretty healthy, and he was never a particularly sickly child either. He does get the odd headache/migraine, but it's not anything debilitating. He does occasionally smoke, but it's not nearly so often as he used to when he was younger, but it has took a bit of a toll on his physical stamina but not so much that it is anything he really notices. This is, however, something that could get worse if he keeps it up as he gets older (you know, if he gets older).
Tumblr media
doctor: how often does my muse visit the doctor? do they tend to go routinely, or only when something is wrong?
He is very much a "only when something is wrong" kind of person. And even then, something has to really be wrong. He's gotten used to toughing out injuries and tending to his own ailments, so there isn't very much that is going to make him decide to go to a general practitioner. He's not afraid of the doctor or anything like that, but it's just not something he's in the habit of doing, which started around the time he got out of school. He could make his own routine, and doctor visits simply didn't make the cut. And besides, in his experience doctors didn't have anything to help with the things that were wrong with him anyway. And regarding dental health...he takes very good care of his teeth and figures being a dentist he doesn't really need to go to another since he knows how to maintain his smile.

Hey folks!
Just saying that Brazil is the first country to be accepting LGBTQ refugees from any country that criminalize our lives. Yes, this include USA.
This was announced yesterday (may 19).
So... We are here with open arms. This is not an easy country for a lot of things, but we have:
Universal public health
General practitioner, vaccines, AIDS treatment, most common medicines are free or cheap, specialists, dental treatment... Including gender affirming care - there are queues, but it exist.
We have one of the world best dentistry.
Its still starting, but a lot of cities already have veterinary public health, or subsided vets to at least spay/neuter your pets.
Birthing is complicated in general, but there are some free options that are really good.
We don't have an opium crisis and our government break patents of medicines when needed. Insulin is free in the public health system. Condoms too.
Abortion is a current fighting matter.
Public education and universities
Public schools are everywhere. And every school will grant you and kids the basic things like notebooks, pencils, pens, etc, and books. Every school have a library or reading room, the government send new fiction books to schools.
Food is free in public schools, and in the majority of the places, good food. Even if most schools have the kids for 4 or 5 hours, not the entire day, there will be free lunch.
Our educational system is universal, so by law, every child and teen must be studying, disabled kids included.
If you cannot pass the tests for a public college, there are paid colleges you can go with government subsidy, and no one left college with an absurd debt. I mean, really. There are special credit lines to grant that. And the prejudice against community colleges is minimal. Its absolutely common that people work at day and go to college in the night shift.
Black and indigenous people have further affirmative policies to go and stay at college.
Unions and workers rights
Our president used to be an union leader. Even with the recent shit show (we had our own trump/jonhson like asshole) , unions are very present and we have LAWS that protect workers. Including 30 days of paid vacation every year, paid weekend, 50% extra payment for working more than 8 hours day or Sundays, 30% more per hour worked at night, social security services, paid health leave, and retirement.
We have a lot of shit going on in work environment, but unions grant lawyers to help, and everything in our work conditions is better than in USA.
Leftist parties and an almost fair voting system.
Almost because Im an anarchist so, every voting system to me is flawed as fuck BUT how far a voting system can go, Brazilians have the best option.
We have a lot of parties, both left and right. You dont have only two options. We have not one, but two communist party. Our socialist party have a huge queer presence. The presidency now is at the Workers Party hands, a left-centered bunch. I think they are not left enough, but our left center party is still much more to the left than any american party.
Our democracy is direct, every vote have the same value, there are not delegates and caucus and such stuff. Every adult need to vote, so your work cannot stop you from voting. There is one election day, its a holiday because everybody votes in the same day, from 8 am to 6 pm. Since the system is electronic, the same night we have the results.
Also, States are not independent to decide most of things. The laws are federal, so there's a consistency in rights and such things.
The greatest variety of foods
And even if inflation because our last government is still a thing, so food right now is not exactly cheap, we don't have food shortages.
There are no food deserts. Fresh food is easily available, and our climate is good to grow food at home.
In general, Brazilians have much more healthier food accessible than USAians.
And in big cities we have government programs and the MST (our Liga campesina) to help.
Guns are mostly illegal
Yes, thats what you read. We have huge gun control.
There are no school shootings. We had a few school incidents (big part of it with mellee weapons and not guns) by alt right men, but every single one was treated as a national tragedy and there's a real effort so that it don't happen again. In 20 years, we didn't had the amount of shootings that happens in a week in the USA.
Federal investigations of hate groups are happening constantly.
I could go on and on. And yes, we have problems, as any other country. But if you have the chance, come. We have our xenophobes, but mostly is a country that receive well the refugees. We have several organizations that help people to get on their feet. Caritas have even Portuguese classes specially developed for refugees.
There is racism, a lot, but it's very different than in USA, so it will take sone time to figure out wtf.
And we have A LOT of affirmative actions for minorities. We have a strong and huge queer community (better saying, various huge queer communities).
São Paulo Pride parade receives more than 1 million people.
And 1 dolar = 4 or 5 reais. Even if you don't have much money, this will make easier to you start a new life here.

Finding A Good Cosmetic Dentist In My Area
In relation to the medical and look of our own teeth, many people are interested in carrying out everything they could to create their pearly whites look nice wholesome. After I go to my normal dentist, he always does a good task of assisting me always keep my the teeth and mouth area neat and healthy. Even so, once whenever a teeth of my own broke out as i was consuming some candies. My normal dental office was struggling to fix it and then he helped me get a dental practitioner during my area that may repair it to me. The dentist he helped me to discover had been a cosmetic dental practitioner.
Cosmetic dental practitioners will be more specialised physicians and may do things that your normal dental professional cannot do. Some standard dental practitioners is capable of doing some of the processes, but choose to never. The standard dental practitioner in my region only does the essential dentistry function. Some of the stuff a cosmetic dental professional can do involve: whitening, brief-phrase straightening strategies, restorations, veneers, and many others. Fundamentally, they could do anything to produce the mouth look nice and fix cosmetic difficulties.
There are several beauty dentist in ballwin on the market and it can be difficult to pick one who is great. Because this is a very specific region of dental treatment, aesthetic dentists need to be good, or perhaps the results will surely not look really good. After I was attempting to identify a dentist in my region that did great aesthetic job, I utilized the referral from my standard dental professional. There are many other great methods of finding a great aesthetic dentist. For instance, you can contact the American Dentistry Connection plus they can recommend one to a great plastic dentist, or question a buddy or comparable concerning their aesthetic dental practitioner. These are generally the ideal way to undertake it. You will discover a plastic dentist through a number of other resources, but like I mentioned, you should be careful as this area of dentistry effort is so specialized.
The biggest reason folks go to a plastic dental practitioner is to buy their pearly whites whitened. There are many over-the-counter teeth whitening products, but a plastic dentist makes it far more long term and undertake it in ways that is way better for your teeth. I have never had my pearly whites whitened, having said that i know where to find a dental practitioner within my region that may do it. You typically need to know what sources you might have just in case you choose want a process completed that the regular dentist cannot do.

DENTAL SEDATION FOR CHILDREN: YAY OR NAY?
Have you been sitting on a dental chair, waiting for the dentist and praying that something - ANYTHING would happen that can whisk you away from the impending doom that you'll feel? As adults, surely we've all felt anxious, distressed, and edgy before but the unsettling sensation during dental appointments truly left impacts on us like no other. Now imagine how children go through with it.
Children don't possess proper coping skills regarding their dental experiences, making dental care to children quite challenging. This is a crucial aspect to acknowledge because once the children develop dental anxiety, dental fear and avoidance will start in which generally result in bad oral health. Sedation began to be practiced by dentists in the 1900's, it is not only to reduce pain but also to help with fear and anxiety that people feel before a dental procedure or even during a basic cleaning. According to Nelson (2022), it is estimated that 100,000–250,000 pediatric dental sedations are performed each year in the USA, and practitioners anticipate a need for more pharmacological  behavior management in the future. High levels of pediatric dental disease, increasingly difficult child behavior, and parent expectations support a need for sedation services.
Sedation also may be used when several procedures need to be done at the same time, when the safety of a child may be compromised, or if your child has a strong “gag” reflex. Your child’s dentist will give the sedation. Once your child has received sedation, the dentist will give him or her an injection (shot) or injections in the treatment area to keep it pain-free during and after the procedure. The sedation medicine may last up to 6 hours after the treatment is done.
Types of Sedation:
Nitrous oxide
Often called “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a very safe, mild sedative that will help your child remain relaxed during dental procedures. Your child’s dentist will give the sedation with the use of a “space mask,” which carries air (oxygen) mixed with the medication.
Oral Sedatives
If your child is nervous, oral sedation may be used. It is taken by mouth or through the nose. This type of medicine will make your child a little drowsy, and will keep him or her relaxed and calm during the procedure. The medicine usually begins to work within 20 minutes.
IV Sedation
Intravenous (IV) sedation requires a needle to be inserted into your child’s vein, usually in the arm or hand. The biggest advantage to IV sedation is that the dentist can give your child more medicine during a longer procedure to keep him or her relaxed. Home preparation is required for this type of sedation.
Benefits or advantage of dental sedation to children
Dental procedures can be incredibly exhausting especially for the kids that had traumatizing experiences with a dentist and are also afraid just by looking at the dental instruments. Well, under the calming effects of sedation, children are more likely to sit still so our dentists and hygienists can work efficiently and effectively. According to dentiland.net there are seven possible benefits the patient can gain after receiving the dental sedative.
It Offers Choice - There are three kinds of sedation as mentioned above. These choices would help you to find the right fit for your child.
It Helps Manage Dental Anxiety -  Any signs of anxiety in children is worth addressing early on to manage and reduce it. Sedation is a fantastic tool for dental anxiety relief as it helps to get the patient into a physiologically relaxed state, including deep breathing and a reduced heart rate. It will help prevent your child from panicking before or during the treatment.
Quicker Dental Procedures - if the patient is being relaxed it may lead to less extended procedure. But if a patient is anxious, they might move around in the chair or show discomfort, making the dentist pause his or her next phase of the treatment. That’s why it’s a win-win situation in which the patient settles quickly allowing the dentist to finish the procedure less time consuming.
Manage The Gag Reflex - this is a typical response in patients when a dentist examines the back of the mouth, that often happens with young children. Receiving sedatives before the treatment lowers the risk of damage and minor injuries inside a patient's mouth from gagging while a dentist is conducting an examination.
It Reduces Pain - Managing pain is one of the most important tasks of a dental practitioner when handling children. Sedation is one way of making your child comfortable throughout the treatment and avoiding distress for it can help reduce pain before, during, and after your child’s dental treatment.
It Aids Complex Procedures - Sedation will help ensure the dentist has the best chance of completing a procedure accurately, minimizing the risk of follow-up surgery or complications.
It Helps Relieve Parent Anxiety - No parent likes to see their kid struggling to have their dental treatment accomplished. Unfortunately children can sense when their parents feel anxious, and that can make your child more anxious and nervous. By choosing sedation, you have added reassurance that your child will be just fine.
Effects of Sedative Drugs/IV or Gas.
Children react to these sedatives differently depending on their tolerance level. It is important that the dentist determine the right amount of sedation needed by the patient so that the patient will not suffer any unexpected side effects. The most common side effects associated with intravenous sedation are headaches, dizziness and nausea.
In conclusion, dental fear and anxiety is a common problem in pediatric patients. Children are not little adults; they differ physically, psychologically, and emotionally. Thus, the effect of dental procedures may cause trauma and discomfort to the children in which it could lead to more serious psychological and emotional issues. Dental sedation can allow dentists to provide treatment with minimal said trauma and discomfort and also preserving their trust. On the other hand, it also has countless risks - even permanent damages and is seen with much apprehension. Nonetheless, dental sedation to children continues to grow and is seen more with opportunity than adversity. "Therefore, practitioners should strive to reduce patient risk by carefully selecting patients who are medically optimized for sedation and instilling a culture of safety into clinical practice", Nelson and Xu (2022).

What Are the Highest-Paying Jobs in Health Care in 2023?
Several positions in the healthcare business will be in great demand by 2023. Dental assistants, operations managers, advanced practice registered nurses, and substance abuse and mental health counsellors are among those who fall into this category.
Advanced training Registered nurses are one of the healthcare vocations predicted to expand the most in the future. They are an essential component of the American healthcare system. To work in the nursing business, you must have a higher education.
Advanced training Patients are given primary and specialist treatment by registered nurses. They do examinations, diagnose ailments, prescribe prescriptions, order diagnostic testing and provide direct patient care. APRNs can operate in a variety of settings, including outpatient surgery facilities, private physician offices, and clinics.
Nurse administrators and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners are now the highest-paying APRN speciality. Certified nurse midwives, clinical nurse specialists, and nurse practitioners are other options.
Nurse practitioners are among the most in-demand healthcare professionals in the United States. This is attributable to a number of causes. For example, a growing baby boomer generation is looking for primary care, and the Affordable Care Act is assisting in increasing access to healthcare.
These improvements will create a long-term need for nurse practitioners. Furthermore, several states have reported a provider scarcity. Fortunately, nurse practitioners are prepared to shoulder this weight and fill this void.
The healthcare business has evolved dramatically in recent years. This includes the growing popularity of telemedicine services. Between March and August 2020, telehealth appointments accounted for approximately 13% of all outpatient visits.
The ageing of the US population is another factor boosting the demand for nurse practitioners. Baby boomers are more prone to suffer chronic illnesses and require medical attention.
Whether you're a business owner or simply looking for a new job, becoming an operations manager is a great option. This is a difficult position, yet it may give beautiful experiences.
As an operations manager, you will be in charge of the entire functioning of your organization. You will contribute to the company's reputation and ensure that its goods and services meet customer expectations.
Operations managers frequently collaborate with teams from many areas inside the firm. They are in charge of resource planning and workflow optimization. Their responsibilities might also involve inventory management and budgeting.
Operations managers are needed in a variety of industries. These jobs are available in energy, manufacturing, retail, and human resources. However, this career takes some knowledge, so learn about the industry before applying.
Dental assistants are vital parts of the dental team, assisting both the dentist and the patients. As part of the entire healthcare strategy, they provide services such as x-rays, cleanings, and exams.
The dental assistant profession demands both technical and interpersonal abilities. They must be detail-oriented, skilled at dealing with others and have excellent communication abilities.
Dental Assistants can work in a variety of settings, including general dentistry, oral pathology, and speciality disciplines, including orthodontics and cosmetic surgery. They also assist the dentist with administrative and clinical work.
Dental assistants should also be knowledgeable about the various materials used in dental operations. Dental radiography equipment, which is essential for some occupations, is included.
There are several sorts of training programs available depending on your state. A variety of state-approved programs are available at vocational schools, universities, and community institutions.
The United States is experiencing an opioid epidemic, and there is a high demand for drug abuse and mental health counsellors. Over the next ten years, these jobs are predicted to expand faster than the national average.
Counsellors for drug addiction and mental health work with patients to help them recover from substance abuse and mental health illnesses. They may work with people who have habits, eating disorders, or other psychiatric issues. Their primary purpose is to assist the patient in performing at their best.
People with interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, as well as interpersonal compassion, are well suited for these positions. Counsellors are frequently found in hospitals, sober living homes, and detox programs.
Counsellors in mental health and substance abuse must have a bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree. Furthermore, most states need state licensure, which typically necessitates two years of field experience.

3D Technologies for dental process
As mentioned above, 3D technologies should be able to provide greater precision and reduce manufacturing times. But what are the new steps to follow when creating 3D printed dental devices? Oliver Bellaton explains, “The physical impression will be replaced by a 3D digital impression taken by the dentist with an intra-oral scanner (meaning a camera will reconstruct in 3D and in real time the surface of the teeth and gums). This 3D file can then be sent over to the dental laboratory through a secure web platform. The laboratory will review the digital impression and model the morphology of the crown in its design software (CAD), taking into account the limits of the gum, interference with other digitised teeth and even the shape of the patient’s smile with a face scanner. In case of doubt, a quick exchange by split screen with the dentist allows to validate the shape of the crown. The 3D file of the crown can then be sent to a 3D printer for manufacturing. In the near future, the dentist could have the 3D printer directly in the office for simple manufacturing. All digital flow configurations are possible. The process may take only a few hours, which in some cases means that the patient could only be brought in to the practice once.” The result is reduced logistics flows and production times, a personalised system that is much more adapted to the patient’s morphology.
Dentists and dental technicians will therefore have to equip themselves with 3D scanners or printers but also with CAD software, an obstacle for many professionals today. Nicolas Klaus, Dental Product & Business Development at Formlabs explains, “The essential pillars of these new working methods are 3D scanners, CAD software and 3D printing. Generally, there is a point of resistance in the software on which training is not obvious”.
Future of dental 3D printing?
While 3D technologies have significant advantages for the sector, their adoption may frighten some practitioners because it requires a new work logic, training in software, scanners and printers and a certain amount of confidence in these innovative processes. Today, for example, more than 50% of French laboratories have equipped themselves with 3D scanners and machine tools and 20% with 3D printers. These players recorded a 70% increase in turnover, proof that they represent real gains for dental professionals. Anton from EnvisionTEC added, “Most practitioners are very receptive and open to new digital technologies. It is simply a matter of asking clinicians and dental industry professionals to understand and trust the new digital technology and its benefits for themselves, their company and their patients. And of course, education and training play an important role. This is why many manufacturing companies are investing in this field to better understand the technology and its clinical applications“.
