...and now Tommy fxcking Shelby is volunteering to be Grace's "paramour"☺️🔞
Who can imagine this cruel and cold-hearted gangster, the King of Birmingham, begs for love to another man's wife?
That's the point I love Grace as she didn't become somebody's mistress but have a man who wants to be her own toy boy🤭💋

Prom Night Reversal
Mike adjusted his bow tie in the mirror, grinning at his reflection. His black tuxedo fit perfectly, and he was ready for his senior prom. Behind him, Kelly—his girlfriend—emerged from the bathroom. She was tugging at the hem of her pastel pink gown, her expression one of pure discomfort.
"I feel ridiculous," she grumbled, glaring at the lace trim on her sleeves. "This isn't me."
Mike turned, his grin widening. "Oh, come on, Kelly. You look amazing." He smirked, his teasing tone kicking in. "Besides, it’s a nice change to see you actually dressed as a girl. You know, fulfilling your role as the weaker sex by being pretty to show off your man."
Kelly froze, her eyes narrowing into slits. "Excuse me?"
Mike leaned against the dresser, still grinning. "I'm just saying, it’s tradition, right? The guy looks sharp, but the girl is the one who’s supposed to turn heads. It’s... biology."
Kelly crossed her arms, fire sparking in her green eyes. "Oh, biology, huh? Let’s talk biology. Girls are outperforming guys academically, professionally, and even athletically these days. We’re the superior sex now."
Mike blinked, caught off guard. "Superior? That’s a bit much, don’t you think?
"Not at all," Kelly shot back. "And if we’re being honest, if one of us is going to be the pretty one to 'show off,' it should be you. You should wear the dress, and I’ll wear the tux."
Mike laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "You’re kidding, right?"
Tumblr media
"I’m dead serious," Kelly said, her voice unwavering. "Why should I be uncomfortable just because of some outdated gender roles? If anything, you should try being the pretty one for once."
The conversation could have ended there, but Kelly wasn’t one to back down. She jokingly mentioned her idea to their group of friends at prom, but the idea gained traction. By the following school year, Kelly, now class president, spearheaded a bold initiative: the reversal of the school uniform policy.
The new dress code mandated that girls would wear pants, ties, and button-up shirts, while boys wore pleated skirts and blouses. The proposal stirred heated debates in the community, but Kelly was relentless in arguing her point.
"Tradition shouldn’t dictate who we are or what we wear," she declared at a school assembly. "If we’re so set on equality, then let’s make it real. Let’s challenge outdated norms."
By mid-year, the policy was in full swing. Mike, who had reluctantly supported Kelly’s crusade, now found himself in a navy-blue skirt and knee socks. He felt self-conscious at first, but as weeks passed, he noticed something unexpected—he wasn’t alone. The boys adapted, laughing at how liberating skirts felt on hot days, while the girls reveled in the newfound freedom of movement their pants provided.

Kelly, as confident in her trousers as she had been in her gown, walked through the halls with a triumphant smile. Mike, despite his initial resistance, couldn’t help but admire her determination.
"How does it feel to be the one showing me off now?" she teased one afternoon.
Mike chuckled, smoothing out his skirt. "You know, it’s not so bad. But don’t get used to it. Next year, I’m picking the dress."
Kelly raised an eyebrow, her grin mischievous. "We’ll see about that."

Men criticize Barbie (2023) because Barbie is an astronaut, a lawyer, a president, and a million other things, but Ken is the stay-at-home spouse rather than her and he's happy to be just Barbie's malewife, he would do anything for her and he is totally fine with that, and somehow these men just want the roles reversed.

Daemon’s storyline is about gender. It’s about the cycle of violence men continue and how women and children pay the price of that violence.
It’s Daemon coming to terms with the fact the symbols of masculinity he upholds hurts everyone around him and himself.
He is a distant father because men are allowed to be.
He hurts Rhaenyra because he knows she will forgive him.
He killed a child in response to another child being killed.
Over and over these cycle repeat. The expectations he has for himself fit within the expectations of the men of the realm.
It’s not other men who condemn him, it’s women.
Women who are begging him to see their perspective, their pain, what they are facing in the patriarchy that he doesn’t see with his own eyes.
And it’s waking him up!
The more aware he becomes, the more Alys asks him to look, the more these ghosts of the women in his life force him to understand their side, the more Daemon can’t deny his hand in this system.
And it’s hurt him too and is still hurting him.
It’s cut him off from his own emotions, his own sense of self.
It’s the same system that has denied him the ability to accept the love he is being given and give love in return because those are not emotions made for men.
And it hurt him because Daemon craves that love! And specifically he has been denied that love from a man, from his brother!
Daemon didn’t know his mother. He doesn’t remember that first experience of motherly love. And so he only had his father and brother to give him that experience and they could not.
Men in this society can’t express that love to each other. Not in the way Daemon needed. And it created a want in Daemon, a need he was desperate to fill.
But his obsession with getting that kind of validation and love from his brother blocked him off from everyone else in his life who wanted to love him! And it blocks him off from loving them.
He can’t even see the women in his life as individuals at this point. But that’s what this storyline is driving him towards. To see his wife and daughters as people who care about him. They aren’t his enemy. They aren’t an extension of himself, there to be at his side as he achieves his goals.
They need his support too! They need his love too. Just as he was denied validation, now he does the same, walking past Baela without a second look. Ignoring Rhaena. Refusing to see Rhaenyra as her own person separate from her father.
But he’s getting there! I think this storyline is specifically setting up Daemon to have different, healthier relationships with his daughters and his wife.
To be a consort and a father and understand that is not an unworthy thing. He doesn’t have to be “the king” to get the kind of validation he craves, he can get that from his own family if he is willing to let them in.
And that requires him to be supportive of them! It requires him to let go of his own pride!
A few days ago I posted a video on tiktok about Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship to gender and how it effects their relationship : here
And I think there’s even more layers to unpack with this storyline and how it relates to gender and expectations that men and women have in Westeros. What is expected of them, what isn’t expected of them.
And Daemon is the perfect character to explore all of this with!

What if the world followed the whims of a bunch of dragon-queens? And they all flipped the gender roles and appearances so that all men are princesses and all women are princes?
Sounds pretty hawt if you ask me.
