So anyone who has ever spoken to me about anime knows my all time favorite is Eureka 7. After recently getting to rewatch it,I found some model kits for the LFOS! I got 909,nirvash, and the 606 (I wish they had the 808 and the END 😭) but they came in today and I spent the evening building the 606!
Love how small and clean these kits are and I'm obsessed you can put them on the board. Can't wait to build the others!!

I need to rewatch AO and give it a fairer judgement since I remember only thinking about the lack of Renton, Eureka, and of course the Gekkostate. But I am still upset with the ending in the anime. I heard the AO manga added more and had better pacing. So I caved and bought it. Since there's no official English translation, it's in Japanese. Despite the ending being the same, this adds a bit of closure for me.
Basically to sum it all up: stale crumbs are still food :,)

the gekkostate team had dispersed for a fuel run ( which Eureka didn’t understand because there was more than enough on the LFO of theirs. Nirvash was getting tired , she could understand , so maybe it was alright to take a break for now. When Eureka was left alone , it was an feeling to have time for herself. It was also odd not to have Renton with her , she had grown accustomed to being at his side. It was a small town , not sure how to navigate with plans being so absent , she would wander.
The Coralian would come across something .. . . odd. She stares down at the man , maybe the heat had gotten to him. He didn’t seem injured. It was another situation where she doesn’t really know how to react , how to read the situation. Purple hues would stare down at the man.

Eureka Seven - Episode 18
Hello folks, and welcome back to Wrong Every Time. Today I am delighted to announce we are continuing Renton’s adventures with the Gekkostate team, as we return after far too long to the skies of Eureka Seven. The early ‘00s were one of the truly great eras in anime production, brimming with ambitious post-Evangelion originals, and elevated through brilliant creators like Eureka’s own Dai Sato.…

Anime Update V3 19
From Me To You - Most of the episode was just kind of routine as the story was building. Sawako continues to be great, Ryu continues to be great, Kurumi continues to be great, Yano and Yoshida continue to be great, Pin continues to be great....surprisingly nothing much for Kazehaya this episode aside from a baseball win, but that's going to change real soon due to the exasperating misunderstanding the episode ended on. Yeah, you suck, Kurumi. Your plans are shit!
Hunter x Hunter - So if the amount of recent Meruem and Komugi based reblogs didn't clue you in, I just went ahead and binged most of the remaining Chimera Ant arc, stopping at the very penultimate episode where Meruem and Komugi die together from the radiation poisoning of Netero's suicide bomb attack on Meruem. Don't even have too many words to spare, it was just nigh perfectly executed. I'm a little more torn on how the culmination of Gon's arc was executed. I definitely get what Togashi was going for, and using the big Super Saiyan style transformation power up to signify something negative and seal the protagonist's undoing rather than their triumph was a stroke of genius on his part...but I howled when I saw how that transformation looked, it was just too silly. It called to mind "Titan Tails" from the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics series. If this was what his entire character was building up to, it's a bit of a raw deal.
SHUFFLE! - The lighthearted title card and eyecatch bumpers are back, Rin has packed up all his things and found a cheap apartment to move into, his friends come over and help him out, and he and Asa are officially a coupe, though Asa is now raising some red flags with very clingy, possessive and polyphobic behavior about her and Rin, and we even get a nice dinner get-together at the old place...and as this is the third-to-last episode, so I knw some shit had to go down. But damn, what went down was a disappointment. Asa collapses and falls ill AGAIN? Why couldn't we gotten to this point the last time?
KonoSuba - The Axis Cult town plot wrapped up in the Season 2 finale and it was more epic and intense than I was prepared for given the nature of this plot and this show. Hans was the most formiddable villain faced so far, and it was a comically cruel twist of fate that the objective that the Devil King had wanted him to meet ended up getting met due to what Aqua and the other "heroes" did to defeat him, even if he got sacrificed for it. Now no one's going to see Aqua as the actual goddess she is, though she seems much better off with Kazuma's party anyway. And yay for more Megumin and Yunyun!
K-On! - Christmas spent at Yui's house and New Years at the local shrine at the very end. All with the silliness and cuteness you expect!
Eureka Seven - It's the beginning of the end. Dominic faced some trauma at Warsaw when he went to recruit a replacement pilot for Anemone only to learn how Dewey has had fatal experiments with Coralian blood being performed on sickly young girls and that's how Anemone became what she is now, so his conscience makes him and Captain Juergens defect from Dewey's militia in order to go meet with and help Gekkostate. Back on Earth, Eureka's body undergoes a painful transformation and Maurice goes bonkers, pointing a gun at Renton and Eureka as he lets out his resentment and frustrations with the both of them, including Eureka for having killed the kids' actual mother in the first place. But he's just sort of talked out of it by Eureka before Renton falls ill with a fever, Eureka is experiencing more transformative episodes, and Dewey has at last discovered the location of the Scub Coral's Central Cluster, poising to strike at it!
Air - Oh my God....HE TURNED INTO A BIRB! Six whole episodes spent with Yukito as seemingly the protagonist of this story, and then at the halfway mark of this anime he just surrenders his physical existence and becomes a crow who's going to watch over Misuzu. Is this why Vic Mignogna was the initially cast VA for Qrow in RWBY?
AND
The Apothecary Diaries - So this is basically now a mystery solving show where poison or substances and herbal mixtures are involved all the time? If such things are really common occurances in this messed up orient, that'd be why you need someone like Maomao around, and she really does seem to thrive when working these scenarios out and especially when being let near poison, which she just goes nuts over in a weird and adorable way. Her dynamic with Jinshi also continues to amuse. Jinshi seems to have zero romantic interest in Maomao, but he's so used to all the ladies having romantic interest in him that it seriously confounds him to see Mamao be not only Not That Into Him, but actively repulsed by his charms, so he's now always looking for ways to get her to warm up to him.

firefly, but it's eureka seven and she's eureka. and stelle is renton (because I love lesbians) and the story is very similar but it's changed to fit more into the star rail world. like instead of gekkostate it's stellaron hunters, or stellaronstate perhaps. maybe it's a combo is stellaron hunters and astral express! and their ship is the express. because himeko would be a great talho. maybe kafka is their "fearless leader" taking her inability to fear seriously in that regard lmao. firefly is the secret weapon the military was using and this stellaron express group rescused her. they later bring in a strange girl after sam crashes into her house. but the leaders know who she is and know they need her. their world is being destroyed by a stellaron and they have to stop it. oh! and firefly has surprise kids (hook, clara, huohuo). March is there just to take pictures on her film camera and make a magazine to sell and get money on the side for them. this would be pretty cool if I actually had the motivation and time to write it lmao

Yeah, I know, I said I would never talk about this again. Well, these spoilers changed my mind. Before you all get mad and call me a hypocrite, two things:
One, I shut off my ask box temporarily, so anyone looking to give me shit can piss off. (For those of you with non-e7 related questions, please contact me privately for now).
Two, I held my tongue for almost two years. There was plenty that happened with Eureka 7: Hi-Evolution in that time that I could have weighed in on. I could have talked about the first real teasers, the shitty looking character designs, or the revelation that Dai Sato and Kenichi Yoshida unceremoniously left the project. You can’t be angry at me for holding back for so long, especially in the wake of these spoilers.
Even when I did keep my mouth shut and retire the topic, people still gave me shit, like when I unveiled my horror story for Halloween 2020. Since I can’t win no matter what I do, I might as well unload and go balls to the wall anyway.
With that being said, strap the fuck in. We got a lot to talk about.
Not long after I initially decided to retire Eureka 7 as a topic for the blog, someone wrote me an email saying that I wasn’t giving the trilogy a proper chance. The final movie had yet to come out and there wasn’t any information as to what it would be about. And I thought, “You know what? That’s fair.” I may have been too hasty to abandon ship, not least of all because I was just tired of getting blasted online every time I weighed in. So, I waited. For all I knew, movie 3 could have pulled off a miracle and turned this around. There was always that possibility, even if I thought it was incredibly small and unlikely.
When spoilers were posted on /m/ and shared on reddit, I had to see for myself, especially since it was incredibly unlikely the films would get pirated online or come stateside until at least early 2022.
Well, I hate this trilogy even MORE now, and I think I’m going to hate this movie the most of all.
It’s bad enough that the movie cuts out all of the things that made Eureka 7 unique and is essentially just a mashup of Terminator 2 and Gundam: Char’s Counterattack with some Ghost in the Shell and Eva sprinkled in. It’s bad enough there is not even a smidgeon of romance to be found anywhere and is just a generic scifi action movie.
But this confirms something I’ve said for the longest time: Tomoki Kyoda hates Eureka 7. He despises it. The whole movie is just overflowing with contempt for the property, the characters, the lore, everything. Want proof?
How about the fact that Sumner and Ruri (protagonists from the PS2 games) are brought into this just to die (and Ruri has an unrequited love with Dewey, gross), just like Holland? Yeah, you read right. Holland dies in this too, and leaves Talho a widow and a single mother. How about Dominic, and how he’s been written out of this (yet again) despite featuring so heavily in movie 2? Oh, and Gulliver isn’t here either, despite there being tons of merch for him. Ironic, I know.
The Gekkostate are basically nonentities who might as well not even be in the movie (much like throughout this whole trilogy).
Even Dewey gets the shaft. Before he was a cold and ruthlessly efficient rogue military officer trying to take over the government. Now he’s a katana-wielding comic book supervillain. Oh and they really amp up the pedo vibes with him by having him bind and gag Iris, the girl Eureka is trying to protect Terminator 2 style, in this creepy gown that resembles a wedding dress:
Tumblr media
Are you angry yet? Because that’s not all.
The worst part of it all? EUREKA DIES stopping what is basically the Axis drop from Char’s Counterattack. AND GUESS WHO SHOWS UP AT THE LAST MINUTE?
Renton.
And he’s only there to join her in death, basically acting as the grim reaper. This is not just Tomoki Kyoda kicking E7 in the nuts. He’s beating it up when it’s already down until his fists are bloodied and the corpse is rendered unrecognizable.
youtube
I never thought anything could top my anger with Hi-Evo 2. But this is on a whole other level. Yes, the original show could get dark, and it wasn’t afraid to kill off characters, but never to this extent! This is nothing short of meanspirited and spiteful. It shows an outstanding level of disrespect not just for the characters, lore, and legacy of Eureka 7, but the fans who have done nothing but try to support this property, myself included.
If there was any doubt in anyone’s mind that Kyoda hates Eureka 7 and everything associated with it, this movie should dispel those doubts entirely. No wonder Sato, Yoshida, and even Kawamori bailed. I would have done it too. Seriously, how bitter and angry do you have to be to essentially kill your property and characters by your own hands?
This is the end of Eureka 7. This is the end of Kyoda’s career. I’m done supporting this shit. Even if they make another one after this several years down the road, I won’t be there to see it. Hi-Evolution 3 is my last stop on this train.
Expect me and my friends to rip this movie a new one in a podcast like what we did with Anemone two years ago. In fact, expect it to go on Youtube. The world needs to see this.
As I read through the thread and reflected, I remembered when this trilogy was first announced in 2017. I remember the hype and excitement around it, and how this represented a real chance to right the wrongs of all the post-series content. Hell, I even remember the posters. You know what the poster for Movie 3 was?
Renton’s face.
Tumblr media
Now, not only was he written out of the trilogy and made into a plot device, but he acted as this franchise’s Grim Reaper. Just....what the hell.
I hate this with every fiber of my being. It’s almost confusing to me how badly this trilogy screwed up and possibly killed the franchise forever.
Let Eureka 7 rest. I’m done.
