Premier Luksemburga, na szczycie UE i Ligii Krajów Arabskich - skonfrontował się z homofobią Ligi Arabskiej

Premier Luksemburga, Xavier Bettel, był drugim premierem ujawnionym gejem po Irlandzkim premierze Leo Varadkar na szczycie UE i Ligii Krajów Arabskich.

Premier Irlandii wezwał kraje arabskie. Poszanowanie praw LGBT i kobiet. "Prawa kobiet i społeczności LGBT, są to prawa uniwersalne niezależne od kultury, tradycji i religii w danym kraju."

Pierwszy homoseksualny przywódca UE, który zawarł związek małżeński, powiedział, że jego małżeństwo osób tej samej płci skazuje go na śmierć w niektórych krajach arabskich.

Bettel przypomniał obecnym, że jest żonaty z mężczyzną i gdyby żył w niektórych krajach reprezentowanych na szczycie, stanąłby wobec kary śmierci za swoją seksualność.

Homoseksualizm karany jest śmiercią w świetle prawa szariatu w Arabii Saudyjskiej, Sudanie i Jemenie. Seks gejowski jest również nielegalny w Algierii, Maroku, Omanie, Tunezji, Syrii, Kuwejcie i Zjednoczonych Emiratach Arabskich. Szczyt odbył się w Egipcie. Gdzie homoseksualizm podlega karze do 17 lat więzienia.

Przewodniczący Komisji Europejskiej Jean-Claude Juncker bronił decyzji szczyt UE w Egipcie. "Gdybym tylko rozmawiał z bezbłędnymi demokratami, skończyłbym mój tydzień już we wtorek" - powiedział.

Stefan Leifert, korespondent niemieckiej stacji ZDF, poinformował o konfrontacji Bettela z szefami państw reprezentujących kraje homofobiczne. Opisał tę reakcję jako pokój wypełniony lodowatą ciszą. Bettel odpowiedział na tweeta Leiferta, pisząc: "Zachowanie milczenia nie było dla mnie opcją".

So for the last day or two, everyone’s been excited about this photo, in which Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel’s husband Gauthier Destenay was photographed with the other spouses of NATO leaders. 

Then, Trump’s team left his name out of the official photo caption on Facebook.

I took these screenshots myself at 6:02PM on May 27, 2017. The photo has been on Facebook for seven hours. Dozens of people have commented asking for a correction. It still has not been fixed. By the way, can you spot another error in the White House post? Hint: The current year is 2017.
