1. Kit Connor

Connor is ready to break out beyond high school. He built his career as a child actor (see him as a young Elton John in Rocketman) before scoring the lead role in the high school rom-com series Heartstopper. This desire to graduate is part of what drew the Brit to Broadway, where he’s currently leading Romeo + Juliet with Rachel Zegler, bringing Shakespeare to the Gen Z masses. “It just felt ballsy,” Connor says. “It’s been what I’ve been trying to do with my career decisions recently, just try and do things that are a little bit more ballsy.” Connor, 20, isn’t sure if Heartstopper will return for a fourth season, but after the curtain goes down on his Broadway stint, he’ll start promoting his most adult role yet in Alex Garland’s A24 thriller Warfare. After that, he says, “I’d like to take a little break just so that I can kind of cleanse my mind and my palate, and then I’d like to do something completely different.” He adds, “I want to try and spend the next couple years just doing quite hard stuff so that I can try and force myself to get better.”

IF I WASN’T AN ACTOR I’D BE “I would first and foremost be a student due to my age. [My major] would probably be something like film studies, English or history, those are the subjects I found the most interesting in school because they were about people. I never did well with numbers. Still don’t.”

THE PERSON I AM DYING TO WORK WITH “I would love to work with Josh O’Connor. He and I are friendly, and every time I see him I think how I would love to see him at work.”

HOW I DECOMPRESS ON SET “I like my private time. On Warfare, we didn’t do that at all. Every night we did everything together and I wouldn’t have changed it at all. But a lot of time on jobs, I go home and just sit and listen to music.”

BEST ADVICE I’VE GOTTEN WORKING IN ENTERTAINMENT “Trusting the process. Quite a lot of my friends in the industry have given me that general advice.”

SONG OR ALBUM I HAVE ON REPEAT “David Bowie, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. I used to, at the beginning of the run of the play, I was listening to a lot of music that would try to hype me up because I wanted to have a load of energy going into the play but then I started re-listening to that album‚ “Rock and Roll Suicide”, “Five Years”, “Moonage Daydream” — that put me in a good mindset for [the play].”

THE MOVIE OR SERIES I AM OBSESSED WITH “The Sopranos. I started watching it when I got to [New York] because I thought Jersey is just around the corner.”

MOST HOLLYWOOD THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME “There is something pretty crazy about seeing your face on a billboard in any capacity.”

Kingsley: Yeah. Lucky you.

Veth, weakly: Hey.

Beau: You're just in time for her to stop crying.

Flashback to earlier on the ship, Jester is receiving a sending reply from Isharnai, the hag who once cursed Veth to be a goblin.

Isharnai: Oh, and give my love to your little halfling friend. i'm so excited about the new edition to her precious family!

Jester looks extremely nervous. Behind her, Fjord is also clearly freaking out.

Jester: Ha ha! No reason at all!

Later, Luc is holding Genevieve, looking at her in confusion. Small, spiky sticks seem to be sticking out of her temples. In the corner of the panel, there is a screenshot of the description for the Hexblood feature Heir of Hags. It reads;

One way hags create more of their kind is through the creation of hexbloods. Every hexblood exhibits features suggestive of the hag whose magic inspires their powers. This includes an unusual crown, often called an eldercross or a witch’s turn. Crowley nudged the front door to the bookshop open with his foot, readjusting the tin of biscuits in his arms, “Hey, angel. It’s me. I got the biscuits you wan– woah.” He stopped and stared out across the shop’s interior. Festive decorations were scattered everywhere the eye could see. Garlands along each bookshelf. A red and green blanket was thrown over Aziraphale’s favourite chair. Candles lined the windows, casting flickering lights over the already serene room. Paper snowflakes were strung up between the shelves, creating a canopy over the walkways. 

“Hello, dear! Let me relieve you of these,” Aziraphale stepped forward and took the biscuit tins from Crowley’s arms and set them on a nearby table while the Demon remained fixated on the decor. 

His gaze eventually dropped to Aziraphale. The candlelight shone like stars in the Angel’s eyes. “You did all this?”

Aziraphale beamed, “I did, yes. Do you like it?”

Crowley made a noise of affirmation, “Looks nice. Would’ve taken a lot of work, I bet?”

“Oh, yes. I decided I wanted to do it all the human way. No Miracles involved whatsoever.”

“What made you want to decorate anyway? You’ve never decorated for the holidays before.”

“Well, I’ve never really had a place of my own that I could decorate. Not in the way I wanted, anyway. So, I thought, seeing as how this is my first Christmas as a bookshop owner, I should celebrate it properly. Hot cocoa. Festive treats. Decorations. All the likes of Christmas!” Aziraphale wiggled in that way he does when he gets excited. 

Crowley felt the corner of his lip curl fondly. “‘Festive treats.’ I suppose that’s what you wanted the biscuits for?”

“Thank you for bringing those, dear boy.” Aziraphale resolutely did not mention the three biscuit tins he had shoved in a cabinet before Crowley arrived. “Christmas would not be the same without them, right?”

“Right,” Crowley agreed, without really knowing what he was agreeing to. 

Aziraphale smiled nervously, “It’d be rather rude of me to send you back out into the cold after coming all this way. Perhaps I could make it worth your while? Pour us up a nightcap? Share these delicious biscuits you’ve brought me?”

Crowley pretended to think about it, “How could I refuse with that reasoning?”

The Angel lit up and went to fetch the wine. Crowley didn’t ask why Aziraphale already had two glasses readily available. Aziraphale poured them both a glass of red. Their glasses clinked. They drank as Christmas Eve rolled into Christmas Morning.

Crowley blinked blearily awake as consciousness slowly returned to him. “Good morning, dear,” Aziraphale spoke from somewhere in the room. Crowley propped himself up from where he was lying on the sofa. He didn’t remember taking off his glasses and setting them on the coffee table, nor how he’d ended up with a red and green blanket over his lap, yet here he was. He looked around the room and found Aziraphale tucked away in his armchair with a book. 

“Sorry, must’ve forgotten to sober up last night. Didn’t mean to fall asleep on you.” Crowley rubbed at his eyes, still not fully awake. “What time is it?”

Aziraphale closed his book, “Oh, that’s quite alright. Seems like you needed the rest. It’s currently a quarter past ten in the morning.”

“I should probably go, then. Don’t want to take up too much of your morning reading time,” Crowley rolled into a sitting position, stretching languidly and grabbing his glasses to place back on his face. 

“It’s really no bother, Crowley, but before you go, I have something for you.” Aziraphale stood and trotted into one of the back rooms. 

Crowley stared after him, “wot?”

Aziraphale returned with a small box in hand and extended it out to Crowley. 

Crowley continued to stare dumbly at the box, not moving to take it. “This isn’t part of our arrangement.”

The Angel smiled, “It’s not, no. Giving gifts is growing popular among other Christmas traditions. I said I wanted to partake in the full Christmas experience, and I meant it.”

Finally taking the box, the Demon began to open it but cut himself off, “but I didn’t get you anything.”

“Of course you did! You brought me biscuits!” 

Crowley just shook his head and carefully peeled the lid back. Inside sat a beautifully crafted bow tie. The material was a deep black with some degree of shine to it when the light caught it just right. In the bow tie’s centre was a rectangular smoky quartz secured by a silver pendant. 

“Ngk– I… wh… I don’t know what to say. Thank you?” Crowley looked up at Aziraphale, confused yet enamoured. 

Aziraphale’s eyes crinkled in joy, “There’s no need to thank me. Merry Christmas, Crowley.”

“Merry Christmas, angel.”

oh my god okay i think since like. 2012...? i forgot the url of my first ever blog so i can't confirm, it might've been like december 2011, but definitely since 2012. so about 12 years ! i initially got into it via ask blogs which ykno. were all the rage back then. so that was my first roleplay... foray ig ?? i don't think i made a real roleplay blog until later, which was for a pokémon self insert oc of all things, but i'm prrrretty sure i deleted the blog years ago so i can't verify that, BUT i'm fairly sure because my initial ask blogs were pokémon themed.

so yeah ^-^ tldr about twelve years or so, and i got into it via pokémon ask blogs !

oh god. um. i genuinely think raikov is at the top of the list. writing him usually comes super easily to me, and that's not something i've experienced in a LONG time. it's genuinely such a fun experience to write him and i love the followers and friends i've gained from it. i really like the lore i've built for him and the intricacies i'm slowly weaving into his character. he's so silly and i care him very bad and i want to write him for a long time <3 um. let me look at my list

OH MY GOD YES tiff tannen from back to the future. like raikov she basically existed as a joke / throwaway line until she showed up in the comics, and i took that bitch and put everything i had into her. there's some shit i handled poorly and some stuff i'd change, but that community was so chill and she holds a special place in my heart. i might revive her blog one day. OH YEAH and if you google tiff tannen my rp blog still shows up on the first page

um. im gen not sure who else. i don't remember a lot of my time writing other muses. probably like some of my historical muses, or. yeah i cant remember. maybe my fnaf oc because that was the first time i got fanart of an oc and i felt like the gods themselves had bestowed it upon me

chernobyl hbo is my favourite show ever of all time and it is the best show ever of all time factually contractually legally clinically and undisputably. i genuinely love every single facet of that show. it's what inspired me to get into researching nuclear radiation and that's what eventually led me to meet my partner ! i love that show so much it changed my life literally. i cried so hard. if you haven't watched it please do so on your platform of choice ( legal or no ) because it's genuinely amazing

neon genesis evangelion is probably one of my favourite shows ever of all time too, it hit so close to home and i'm obsessed with it. and even though none of the characters canonically have personality disorders, i find asuka and shinji to be super good representations of hpd and avpd respectively, which is great because you usually never see those anywhere ! it's so good. i also loved serial experiments lain but it hit too close to home in a way that i never want to watch it ever again because i think it will do irreparable damage to my psyche. but i really enjoyed it !

OTHERWISE i'm actually not much of a... show girlie. i like friday night dinner though i literally forgot it existed until my beloved mentioned it right now. um. most of the stuff i watch is like hell's kitchen, four in a bed, don't tell the bride, that type of shit because i'm apparently 47 years old. i have been watching dorohedoro, chainsaw man, and spy x family with my partner though !

Song: «Somewhere over the Rainbow» est une chanson écrite par Yip Harburg en 1939 pour le film «Le Magicien d’Oz (The Wizard of Oz)». Elle a été chanté par Judy Garland qui jouait le role de Dorothy, une jeune femme qui est emportée par une tornade dans le pays d’Oz, où elle aide les habitants de se débarrasser d’une méchante sorcière et d’un magicien factice.

Yip Harburg ignorait ce que son peuple vivait en Allemagne, ce qui donne une autre dimension poignante à cette chanson. La mélodie plaintive et les paroles simples de la chanson racontent le désir de s'échapper du «désordre sans espoir» de ce monde vers un nouveau monde plein de couleurs «par-delà l'arc-en-ciel» (over the rainbow). C’est comme s’il existe un lieu quelque part où «les soucis fondent comme des bonbons au citron». Mais nous savons que la réalité de notre existence ne fonctionne pas comme ça. 

Néanmoins l’Arc en Ciel est un symbole puissant d’espérance et de promesse. Qui n’a pas été captivé par ces bandes de couleur qui apparaissent dans le ciel? Qui n’a pas arrêter la voiture pour le prendre en photo?

Mais nous savons aujourd’hui qu’un arc-en-ciel est causé par la réfraction de la lumière à travers les gouttelettes d'eau, ce qui rend visible dans le ciel toute la gamme de couleurs de la lumière. Le monde antique ne le savait pas. L'arc-en-ciel était un phénomène naturel magnifique qu'ils ne pouvaient pas expliquer... et il est donc devenu un symbole mystique qui était pour les uns promesse de paix et pour les autres l’annonce de la guerre.

Je me souviens qu’à l’école nous avons lu l'Épopée de Gilgamesh. Comme mes camarades de classe, j'ai grogné, c’était long, ancien et sûrement répétitif, je me suis dit. Mais au fur et à mesure que le récit se déroulait, j'ai été intrigué par cette histoire ancienne et j’étais émerveillé de voir à quel point elle recoupait les récits que j'avais appris à l'école du dimanche dans la Bible. L'histoire de Noé, en particulier, m'a fait comprendre que les histoires de l'Ancien Testament n'étaient pas seulement des histoires, mais la révélation d'une vision de l’activité de Dieu dans le monde. Et, plus tard, en comparant les deux textes j’ai vu a une différence que je n’avais pas remarqué avant.

L’arc en ciel dans le récit de Genèse est un signe de l’amour et de la fidélité de Dieu. Ce signe établit une alliance, la première alliance entre l’humanité et Dieu. Dieu s’engage à ne plus jamais détruire sa création et l’arc en ciel devient une assurance que le monde ne sera plus frappé par les catastrophes de «l’acte de Dieu». En plus, l’arc en ciel est un rappel pour Dieu (le noeud dans son mouchoir) que Dieu respectera la totale liberté de sa création. Plus jamais Dieu n’interviendra en colère contre le mal et la méchanceté des humains. Dieu travaillera avec l’humanité dans une relation de la création en continu.

L’arc en ciel de l’Épopée de Gilgamesh est un signe de la guerre, c’est l’arc du soldat accroché dans le ciel, toujours à la portée de la main.

Cette différence me semble être fondamentale à notre vision du monde. Comment comprenons-nous le monde? Quel est notre role dans son devenir? Quel sont nos marges de manoeuvre pour mener à bien ce qui est juste et bon? Comment avons-nous permis la destruction des millions de juifs ou le massacre des Tutsi au nom du « nettoyage ethnique »?

Ce qui est pertinent pour nous c’est relation avec la planète. L’arc en ciel de la Bible est un signe universel de promesse de non-destruction par Dieu, mais les humains sont bien plus capable à faire ce que Dieu s’interdit à faire. Nous allons pouvoir réfléchir plus profondément à ces questions en avançant dans notre projet de «l’Eglise Verte». La première réunion est programmée pour mercredi prochain à 10h00 au temple de Villeneuve. Ce sera l’occasion de commencer notre diagnostique et de nous inscrire dans le réseau de l’Eglise Verte.

Notre monde est souvent divisé entre ces deux interprétations de l’arc en ciel. Certains cherchent des signes pour nous dire comment agir, des signes qui révèlent ce qui est bon et ce qui est mauvais, ceux qui ont raison et ceux qui ont tort. Ils prétendent que ces signes sont lisibles dans des événements de tous les jours: élections, émissions de télévision, événements naturels, etc... Et ces signes semblent nous déclarer que nous sommes des justes et que quelqu'un d'autre est impie. C’est dans ces moments que l’arc en ciel déclare la guerre. Nous avons raison, nous sommes forts, nous allons conquérir ce qui n'est pas comme nous.

Pourtant dans les jours qui ont suivi le déluge, Dieu a offert à Noé un signe divin qui n’était pas un appel à la guerre. En fait, c'était exactement le contraire. C'était un appel à la paix et à l'harmonie. C'était un appel à mettre de côté les querelles et les souffrances. C'était un appel à vivre plutôt qu'à conquérir. C'était un appel à exister en relation les uns avec les autres et le tout avec Dieu, plutôt qu'à détruire.

Le déluge de la Bible est bien plus que seulement une réaction contre la déchéance et le mal, c’est une création à nouveau. Car la destruction, bien sûr, n'est pas totale. Dieu n'efface pas entièrement la création pour ensuite s'en aller. Le déluge est en fait le moyen de recréer la terre. Dieu purifie la terre et la relation entre Dieu et la terre recommencent. 

En revenant au premier chapitre de la Genèse des parallels sont perceptibles entre ces deux récits:

Ce que Dieu avait déclaré bon à plusieurs reprises dans le premier chapitre, est maintenant qualifié de mauvais et pourrie.

La séparation et le rassemblement des eaux sont d'abord défaits puis refaits.

Le commandement de Dieu «soyez féconds et multipliez» est répété trois fois après le déluge.

Le fait que les humains sont créés à l'image de Dieu est aussi souligné.

Ainsi, toute la création se voit offrir un nouveau départ, une nouvelle occasion de vivre dans l'harmonie voulue par Dieu. Notez cependant que ce nouveau départ est dans la continuation, Dieu ne crée pas de nouveaux êtres, mais recommence avec un reste des êtres créés au début. Ce recommencement est scellé d’une alliance qui est voulue uniquement par Dieu. Dieu ne demande rien ni à la création, ni à ses créatures. Cette alliance n’est pas un contrat: si tu fais ceci, je ferai cela… Dieu est conscient que le cœur humain désire faire du mal et le déluge n’a pas purifié le cœur. Malgré ceci Dieu entre librement dans son alliance.

Le signe de cette alliance, l'arc de Dieu dans les nuages, est précisément un arc de combat. Mais Dieu a raccroché son arc, Dieu s'est retiré de la bataille. Cet arc dans les nuages est le signe de la promesse de Dieu que, quoi qu'il arrive, Dieu cherche à nous restaurer. La destruction n'est pas à l'ordre du jour. Et cet arc restera pour tous les temps. Un signe que Dieu nous cherchera et nous cherchera, malgré ou peut-être à cause de, la connaissance qu'il a de chaque péché, de chaque chagrin et de chaque honte qui voile notre vision de la réalité de Dieu. Quoi qu'il y existe dans nos cœurs et dans la création qui nous empêchent d’entrer dans la plénitude de la vie de Dieu, Dieu ne renoncera pas à nous aimer pour nous restaurer.

Donc c’est bien « Over the rainbow » mais pas « somewhere » (quelque part), car la promesse est bien contenue dans les projets de Dieu.
