In preparation for his newest film outings, I've decided to embrace my inner CWChan and create Gario Marfield, his brother Hobbesigi, a rideable Yoshdie, etcetera, etcetera. Also, Heathcliff and Bill the Cat are Wario and Waluigi, I just haven't finalized their names yet, this was such a spur of the moment decision. Jon Arbuckle is Bowser, Iggy Nutmeg is Junior... and fuck the Koopalings, who needs seven interesting characters with seven different names and seven different designs and seven different personalities? Just one generic kid will do. That makes Grandpa Nutmeg Kamek, I guess? Arlene and Penelope are Peach and Daisy, though I'm not sure which is which, because Arlene is the tomboy (Daisy), Penelope is the girly one... but then Arlene is also the most canon. Pooky is all his Paper Mario sidekicks, plus Mallow and Geno; as he, like the rest of us, pretends Nintendo still cares about what the fans want.

Effective immediately, I will be deleting the last nine years of blog content as I make the conversion.

Gario Marfield

"You know, it was just an April Fools' Day shitpost, but I could really see getting into it and maybe making something. Not a webcomic-- or whatever you classify 'Sonichu' as, but maybe a one-shot fanfiction? The thing is, instead of arbitrarily mixing the Mario and Garfield verse, what if we made it all about the voice actors? So Heathcliff, instead of Wario; would be Bugs Bunny, and Daffy Duck, Barney Rubble, Mr. Spacely, you know what somehow 'The Man of a Thousand Voices' ends up playing a thousand characters.

But then, Hobbes has no voice so we have to drop him... we can replace him with Tigger and the legendary Paul Winchell. Anyhow, he mixes with Dick Dastardly so he's pretty much still Waluigi, let's be real here. Peach is apparently Magik (Illyana Rasputina)... I have absolutely no idea who that is, I mean I'm a DC girl so my knowledge of X-men is severely limited. But Anya Taylor-Joy is going to be movie Peach and the closest thing to a recognizable film she's done is 'The New Mutants' which I know is one of the X-men comics, but I've never heard of it as a movie. However, when clicking on the character I found out that in the video game 'X-Men Legends' she was voiced by none other than Jeannie Elias, who you may recognize as the original voice of Princess 'Peach' Toadstool in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! So, in any case, Magik is like double Peach and I wonder if that was intentional, or just some sort of cosmic coincidence?

Does anyone wanna see this developed further? Should it go the way of my translation project and just peter out after one reblog? It doesn't matter, tumblr's dead, that's the way we like it. If we were attention whores we'd be on Twitter or something."

Huigi Marfield: Luigi/Hobbes (I can't find anyone for Charlie Day, maybe Charlie Kelly except I've never seen It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. So Hobbes it is.)

Princess Peagik: Peach/Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy)

King-Fu Koopa Bowser: Bowser/Po (Jack Black)

Warthog Kong: DK/Pumbaa (Seriously? That's the best role I could find for Seth Rogen? Pumbaa in the worst movie of all time? Well, it was either that or Bob, the horribly motion captured Viking dwarf from the Rescue Rangers movie.)

Kamek's gonna be another hard one because he's Kevin Michael Richardson, who unlike the rest of these nobodies (except Jack Black) has actually done something with his life. He's been everyone from the Anti-Fish, Shredder, Trigon, to even matching existing voices like Dr. Hibbert which he took over in 2021 which you didn't even notice! Of course, that was probably because you stopped watching the Simpsons 10-20 seasons ago...

Toad/Frank the Foreman (The Lego Movie): Keegan-Michael Key... you see, it's funny because Foreman Spike is in this movie, and in this horrible comic, Toad would be the Foreman. Actually, this joke gets less and less funny the more 'work' I put into it, maybe I've finally got it out of my system? I still predict that Foreman Spike is going to go crazy during the movie and at the very end put on a purple and yellow plumber's outfit for a sequel hook. Remember that I called it, a year or two in advance... how long ago did they announce that Spike was in this stupid movie? It seems like forever.
