Squirrely E8 por zimwizdotcom
Por Flickr:
After the recent rehab of my railroad, we celebrated by running various trains including my pair of PRR E8s. When we took a short break we parked the trains by the house and upon our return we found paw prints from squirrels all over the trains and several cars were knocked over. These are some of the things that happen when you have a backyard railroad versus indoor model trains. Zeiss Milvus ZF.2 50mm f/2 @ f/8

The Lilliput train makes its way through the garden, passing large flowers along the way.
I got bored after church and noticed a spot in the garden that resembled a path. So, I set up a train and track in it and got this. It looks great.

UNTITLED PUBLIC DOMAIN GAME
So I’ve been infatuated with the public domain (a collection of creative works not held under copyright law that are free for public use) for a while now so I’ve been playing around with a story concept :3

Permaculture instructor Andrew Millison journeys to New York City to film the epic work of Smiling Hogshead Ranch in Queens. We tour the community garden which was built on an old toxic railroad bed WITHOUT PERMISSION! Guided by The President of the Permaculture Institute of North America Monica Ibacache and a founding member of the garden, Gil Lopez, we see the incredible transformation of this toxic wasteland over the last 12 years. You've got to see this to believe it!

In the cutting (originally: A bevágásban)
2023
Acrylic on paper
This is based on a real part of a real railway track, but I changed it a little for the composition's sake. You might ask why a little embankment is starting to rise between the walls of the cutting, when it's pointless to build an embankment inside a cut. That's because this is the area where it starts to turn from a cut (in front) to an embankment (behind us).
There's only a single pair of rails because it's used sparsely enough for that to be enough; at larger stations, there's two pairs for a little while, and that's where opposite trains can wait for one another, then they move on parallel tracks in opposite directions until they get past each other, and so both of them safely enter the single pair of rails. I don't know if they do that in other places, I expect they probably do, but I wanted to explain just in case it looks absurd to have one pair of rails.
