Maybe the ship belongs to the Macquis or is in alignment with them so we still see the DS9 crew trying to track and capture them. yeahhh

TOXIC GARASHIR YAOI AU BAYBEEEEE

So @snowysoong and her toxic Daforge yaoi au got me thinking about my toxic Garashir yaoi au I conceptualized a few years ago in my 3-week hyperfixation period on zombies and final girls. So uh I reworked it so I could post about it!

Here. They're in love and infected with a disease that's putting their amygdalas into overdrive, compressing their complex thought processes, and leaving them with just their impulses !!! Garak is now hunting Julian for sport and Julian is hunting him right back to preserve his own life. Poor Julian is losing the battle btw. You'd think being genetically enhanced would give him the advantage, but apparently, he's just BAD. Or just can't outmatch his evil lizard boyfriend. Happens to the best of us.

I am insane. But I think you guys have gathered that by now.

This time @hobbithabits was the client and wanted an age swapped version of Bashirs and Garaks first meeting based on this fic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/54883567 (Past Prologue (Introductions and Intrigue)) Older Bashir was no problem, I've already drawn him and we got lots of beautiful pics of Sid. But younger Garak was a fun challenge. And I couldn't resist giving him Andys fluffy choir boy hair >:D. Commissions still open <3

God, I do not need any more fic ideas but also hello to the Garashir 'Theseus and the Minotaur' AU that's now living in my head...

Featuring:

Julian as the perfect prince who's been raised from birth to kill the monster

Garak as the son of Tain: a regnar, the monster who lives under the labyrinth

King Enabran, a despot

Benjamin Sisko as the inventor who suffers from miraculous visions

Jake Sisko as his son, who hopes that if the monster is killed his dad's visions might stop

Kira as a gladiator, forced to fight in the king's games, who joins Julian in his quest

And like, it's a story about Julian's fear of failure, and how he's expected to do the impossible, and how he cares so deeply despite his parents' best efforts.

And about how Garak isn't really a monster, just a man - barely more than a boy, really - who's been raised to do horrible things, shut away in the dark for the majority of his life and yearning to prove himself to his father.

And how Julian recognises the humanity in this monster before Garak himself can see it, and refuses to kill him. While Kira looks on raging and seething, because she thought she finally had the chance to break free, she'd trusted this foreigner to fight alongside her, and he just throws that chance away at the feet of this monster.

Classic Star Trek time/reality messiness with DS9, where Garak is replaced by his younger self. The younger him is more impulsive and blatantly emotional, but still delighted by his own tricks. Same Garak but unrefined.

Elim, losing his mind cause they know his name already for whatever crazy reason, is hard to keep track of and evens harder to control. He finds joy in causing a ruckus after realizing that no one in his future reality likes him very much.

He’s absolutely enamored with the CMO who keeps trying to ask him about literature. In the middle of a full brief on the situation, Elim blurts out about how gorgeous the doctors neck is, and fails to pass it off. He’s mortified.

Elim observes everyone in that creepy, lizard like way that seems just like Garak, but none of them had ever seen Garak do it.

Julian, creeped out: Elim, you have a… staring problem

Elim, thinking he’s being called a slut: what? I absolutely do not, I only ever stare at you!

Julian: oh.

Elim is intensely emotional and fails plenty of times to hide it because you can just see it in his eyes. His default look is so earnest that everyone kinda feels bad that they aren’t super nice to him. He doesn’t blame them tho (he’s blowing them up in his mind)

I just skimmed some of this and am already obsessed, your writing is so good!!

Incidentally, where exactly are all the Our Man Bashir AUs that treat the holoprogram's reality as actual reality? Like. Okay. What I'm asking here is:

Where are all the fics where Garak is still an Obsidian Order spy and is fulfilling the narrative function of Honey Bear, Julian is working with Starfleet Intelligence as basically James Bond, and Tain is Hippocrates Noah?

Where are the fics where Julian is strapped to a Cardassian torture device and has to seduce Garak into letting him escape, which Garak 100% would because he canonically (I accept it as canon!!!) spared prisoners all the time during his career and he canonically (we've decided this!!!!) is weak to Bashir's fuckboy charms?

Where are all the fics where Garak (Honey) and Julian (Bond) fall in love as enemy agents on Romulus or Bajor or an obscure secret space station hidden inside a moon while a little LED screen on a giant laser ticks down to 0?

The Ballet AU. Yes, really.

Okay. I am going to write this. Probably as a series of short fics rather than a long multi-chapter thing, because that's what I write best. Of course, people will be welcome to play around in it.

It will be set in Paris, for reasons.

I have been to Paris exactly once, for about three hours that I stole off a work trip. I can work google maps as well as the next terminally online millenial, but sometimes if you speculate on a future city, you need The Insight.

So... do I have any French and specifically Paris mutuals? I could ask my work colleagues, but that would be... awkward. Help a girl out here!

Alternate-universe Garak wakes up from womb-removal surgery. His Bashir stands beside him, hands proudly on his stomach.

“Why are your hands on your stomach, Doctor?” Garak asks.

“What do you think I did with your womb once I removed it?” Bashir replies, grinning.

I love your baby Cardassian! Do they name the kid? How does Garak feel about a Cardassian baby being raised so far from Cardassia?

jokes aside, I’m glad you like the little guy! :’) His name is Said, named after Julian’s favorite uncle. Naming a child after a family member is quite common on Cardassia, so it’s a perfect fit!

Now to the matter of Garak and the baby. Since the Cardassian egg landed on DS9 by pure chance (Quark's illegal smuggling) and began to hatch immediately, there was no real alternative but for Garak and Julian to become fathers, so to speak. Garak himself, however, has serious doubts as to whether this is all a good idea. It's an inner tug-of-war for him, because the baby is now far away from Cardassia and a competent foster mother - at such a formative phase of his young life! - but at the same time... it's a feeling of being close to home again when little Said climbs on top of him. It reminds him of the days of his youth, when his own mother held him. It's a feeling of warmth that he hasn't been able to feel for a very long time.

Nevertheless, he struggles to decide whether he deserves it after everything he has done in his life.

(Julian is too overwhelmed by being a father to even think about stuff like that)
