How playing Fallout 4 with my young niece is going:

She's had to be stopped waking me in the morning before she goes to school, because she really wants to play. And she wants to play every night before her Mum gets her back.

She super gets the concept of looting the bodies, and shouts enthusiastically about doing it. Even if I'm being shot at.

"Are you dying them Auntie Karla?"

I get sound effects to the killing. And sarcastic comments like, "Oh, I can't walk now," if I chop off enemy legs and things...

Her censored swearing when we're in a bit of trouble is beautiful. She's shouting "Sugar" in the exact same way an adult would swear.

Dogmeat is the absolute best to her. She keeps saying I need more doggos, and does not like I've only got too. Also PROTEC DOGMEAT AT ALL COSTS.

She thinks Dogmeat is cute for stepping on our fallen foes!????

She shames me for not cleaning the raider bedrooms. And "why do people let their houses get in this state,"

Rocket Bins, lockers, and lights everywhere!! She loves them.

"You'll have to teach me how to play Auntie Karla, so I can get it for my Switch," with my Dad asking is that possible, and I'm like no Dad it's an 18.

She is getting a sugar coated version of the game. Like I tell her a really bad war did this, and we're trying to fix the world and help people, and give them a nice place to live.

Mostly I'm just building settlements with her, unless she asks to explore. It's what she loves the most. I do to some extent try and control what she sees. And if I think certain quests are too scary, I do them when she is not there.

She's cool with killing bad guys though, because she has asked questions in a curious kid way, and I've told her it's okay because in computer games they're not really dead. It's why we come back to life when we die, because it's not real.

I answer questions and talk to her about anything she asks in general. So I know she's cool with the level of playing the game.
