What are the iconic ps2 games in your opinion?
*breathes in*sly 2, bloodrayne 2(obviously trash but iconic and unique in every aspect), tony hawks (underground 1 & 2 + american wasteland), the URBZ, FFXII/X/X-2(probably my fave cause gay rights), GTA san andreas, KH2, Okami, persona 3, the simpsons hit&run, devil may cry 3, burnout 3, SSX 3, mortal kombat 5 for the krypt concept and 6 for the konquest mode, onimusha 3, fatal frame 2/3, forbidden siren, spider man and the spider man 2, the guitar hero series, all of prince of persias games, both god of war cause straight rights! shadow of the colossus, metal gear solid 3, enter the matrix (very poorly made and it would even permanently break some consoles but extremely addictive if you use cheats) tekken 5, naruto ultimahe hero 3 was MYY SHITTTT, so was castlevania lament of innocence for the plot and curse of darkness cause literally best gameplay and overall UI/easter eggs/japanese crackhedian humour, resident evil 4, silent hill (all of them.), katamari damacy, ape escape 3, maximo: ghost to glory, destroy all humans (GOD this one was fun), every single capcon vs snk and king of fighters, darkstalkers, valkyrie profile 2, dragon quest and harvest moon!!!!!NAME A BETTER ERA FOR VIDEOGAMES….. I WILL WAIT!

My Hero One’s Justice review!
So, given that now I'm in that age in which I'm Obsessed™ with My Hero Academia, it was just a matter of time that I would wrap my hands around this game. When it comes to fighting games, I'm (shocker) on the weeabuu side of the spectrum: back in the day my faves were DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 5. Of Mortal Kombat and all that, I only know I suck. Give me anime boys screaming their attack names with all their might (no pun intended).
I was quite hyped about this one although I knew the story mode would only cover up until the Kamino incident (the first half of the third season), so I wouldn't find anything new, but as I said, anything related to BNHA will have my undivided attention now (I'm looking at you, movie. I can't seem to find it anywhere and my country is not bringing it!).
Unfortunately, things weren't as good as I was expecting. Yes, I am indeed in that BNHA mood right now, but I'm not blind.
In terms of the story, you have two paths: the hero, and the villains, which unlocks after you complete the first campaign. Although you must guess what happens here: they are the same battles, only from a different perspective now. So it's just the recycled story again. Alright, I can deal with that, it's a fighting game after all about a story I already know, I don't mind the repetition. But… the game only covers from the serial hero killer arc to the Kamino incident, almost more than a half season of the anime. And that's it. To tell you I completed the hero path in one evening (yes, I know I had nothing else to do – but yet, this is a short game) should tell you that you won't get much else from the plot.
Story mode is short. Period.
So, what else does this bring? Well, you have mission mode – which, you guessed it, are more battles. I don't mind at all again, it adds further challenge. You have local match as well: you can fight the AI or a second player. Good. When I saw the coaster with all the characters, I noticed something.
They're just a few!
Like really, you scan just the surface and see it plainly.
So little room to choose! What if I wanted to see how you made gameplay for Toru Hakagure? That would've been something! I believe they couldn't add every character and I understand if they had limitations. But back in the day, games like the ones I've mentioned (DBZ, Naruto) had the whole, and I mean WHOLE cast of characters. I'm talking about mangas/animes with hundreds of chapters and well over a hundred of characters, each with transformations or different versions. And still, those games had more to offer: the DBZ made you go through all the sagas, from Dragon Ball to fricking GT and the movies. And they even went on to create what if scenarios. And Naruto had semi-open world with RPG elements and side quests besides fighting. And those were fricking ps2 games!
Also, except for All For One, all the characters are already unlocked. Give me a motivation, please, don't serve them to me on a silver plate like that, allow me to unlock them as the story mode progresses. I would've much liked that.
And wth is Kyoka doing here??? I mean ¿¿?? I think Mina has more presence than her, Kyoka only gets decent screentime when the cultural festival arrives and the plot of the game is ages away from it. They must've needed to put another female character and found her more suitable or her gameplay more eye-candy?? That's the only explanation I find, really.
Alright, yes, maybe I'm asking too much? After all, you have online mode as well. But as I like to stick with my babies, the story mode is always where I put my focus on. And this game didn't deliver. Cutscenes were lazy, with just a few portraits for each character (yes, DBZ didn't have cutscenes either but it had a thousand more canon battles and way too many characters for me to remember, each one with unique moves), but I wouldn't have minded something like the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games. With an actual map you can move around and important battles taking place. I remember the Ultimate Ninja 4 allowed you to collect "memories" and there was another mode besides story, in which you could play the battles from the original Naruto, when the kids were younger – more gameplay and something to look for! Maybe they could've done something similar or maybe emulate the battles in the sports festival in that mission mode?
There is a slight motivation to keep on fighting, I guess: characters can level up in mission mode, and you can also unlock different colors for the outfits and different accessories. I guess if I had played this on my ps4 I would've gone for the trophies as well, which encourages the player further. But as I grabbed the pc copy, sadly though it sounds, I'm going to leave the game where I left it.
This isn't so you don't buy the game: I don't know the company that developed it, but I do know Bandai Namco, and by no means do I wish to hinder their sales, because I love what they do. Also, it's been a while since I play a fighting game like this, so maybe they're all now like this one? I'm just saying that I don't recommend you to buy it at full price. And that you won't find anything new if you're up to date with the anime (not even the manga).
They could've done great things with this one: they could've gone as far as the beginning of the story, they could've created the weakened All Might's form, they could've put every character from the anime, they could've even go further and give us an advance from the manga – just imagine playing with Mirio Togata! Or Sir Nighteye! I'm already crying.
Alright, it’s not so terrible - I enjoyed what I could. It was more myself pushing all these things rather than rejoicing on what I actually had, which is a pretty fun game. Gameplay is unique for each character: you have a normal attack, and two quirk specials. Then you have like a “limit break” attack, one normal and one more powerful, for which you need to wait for a bar to charge and execute them. You also have the option of summoning a companion to land an attack while you’re having trouble or paralyzed. Some characters have a good range of attacks (Todoroki), others have useful long-range attacks (Deku), others need to be close to present a decent fight (Kacchan), so it’s all up to you and the characters you feel more comfortable playing with. I personally enjoyed setting everything on fire with good boi Todoroki, much to my love for Kacchan’s disgrace.
But that’s it. I’m a bit disappointed, that’s all. I guess this is all they could do, and I don't blame them for it. But it's a mediocre game for such a big franchise, and it does not live up to its heroes.
I think this is the first review I post about a game I didn't like much. I normally don't play games I don't like, or if I don't like them, I just don't finish them and then the review is never written. But this was a missed opportunity, and I'm sad for it. I hope BNHA one day receives a videogame adaptation worth of its name.

My Ideal Bionicle Game
This might be a long post... Strap in!
/////////
Since November 14 of 2006, I have always loved Bionicle games. I went back and played Bionicle Heroes again and thought to myself: "What if I were to redesign the game for modern day, as if Bionicle never ended?"
Well, that's the reason I'm making this post. I want to come up with a concept for a Bionicle game that should've happened if Bionicle never ended and still ran on.
So let's state the obvious, I don't own the Lego Corp or have a license to create such game. I do not own Eidos or the other companies responsible for the release of many of the Bionicle and Lego videogames.
//////////
The Story and Plot
So, when I thought about the previous games in Bionicle history, and the more recent Phone app: Mask of Creation, I never seemed to think about what the story might be. But I settled on a list and chose from the top listed, biases aside.
I chose:
. The Voya Nui saga
. The Mahri Nui saga
. The Phantoka/Mistika saga
I chose these because it is the most consistent piece of stoeytelling Bionicle ever did. The Ignition trilogy would make an absolutely great and lengthy game, plus the characters would flourish and lots of old story plots would be tied together, like the Dark Hunters and the Piraka or The story of Karzahni.
I also planned on making this game follow the canon story instead of the goofy storyline in Bionicle Heroes. This would be canon in the sense that it would start at the arc where the Toa, Turaga and Matoran have all migrated BACK to Metru Nui, and there on into the Voya Nui story and so on, following exactly how it was supposed to go. This would also have to be said that some items in the game would obviously be either non canon or simply created to add story and character. It's the case with a lot of games.
The Type of Gameplay
I want the gameplay to not just be action, but semi-open world, where Rahi thrive and the island of Voya Nui is completely explorable, almost like Skyrim but on a MUCH smaller scale. In terms of how the actual combat would play out, it would be a mix of third person shooter and Hack and Slash, using the weapons given to the various Toa as either a gun/launcher (whatever you wanna call it) and a sword or other tool, with some differences now and then because exceptions such as Toa Mask powers, Mental attacks, eye beams from Thok/the other piraka etc.
I feel like this style of gameplay fits the game better as we never really played around the Island or explored to a big extent in Bionicle Heroes or the Original Bionicle the Game. I feel giving the world a more fleshed out and large scale would be better for exploration, which obviously would be heavily relied on.
If you can't the already, I'm kinda using different examples of games to form my thesis here, for example: the open world concept was taken from Far Cry, the gun kata from Devil May Cry, and obviously enough the story from Bionicle.
I also would make no random boss battles by high level enemies, nothing early on like Brutaka or Vezon. If a mini boss comes around, such as maybe Umbra or Irnakk or some kinda big rahi, then it would make more sense to fight it.
There would be a level system for each character, where as you proceed in the levels, you unlock better upgrades and adjustments such as Sharpness for blades or more control for your Kanohi. Your character would also have a bar for health, stamina and Energy, which is crucial in some characters.
Your character would also write in a journal, visible through an in-game tab or notification. These would just be simple ramblings or story pieces or cool references. They would also write down the creatures they have fought or defeated, their stats and the like. This is also where you can change the currently selected Armour, weapons and Attack setup.
Your setup looks like this
Basic attack: Sword swings, jabs, punches, etc.
Power attack: Sword blasts, laser fire, eye beams etc
Advanced attack: Mask Powers and or weapon powers not present.
Elemental Attack: an Attack relating to your element. For water, it's a torrent of water that runs with your energy bar, the longer you use it the more Energy it takes up.
However, each Toa can only have their current Kanohi in that part of the story, for example: you can't give Kongu Mahri Nuparus Inika mask (despite the fact he deserves it). But, each can be upgraded with different abilities, such as sonar pulses or extra attack power.
The Voice Actors
I'm not asking for a lot of high value actors, but have selected a few notable ones.
The Toa Nuva
. Tahu - his Mask of Light actor
. Gali - Emily Rose (Uncharted 4)
. Pohatu - Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
. Onua - Idris Elba
. Lewa - Kevin Miller (Sly Cooper)
. Kopaka - Nolan North (Uncharted 4)
The Inika/Mahri Toa
. Jaller - Andrew Francis, his original voice actor
. Hahli - Kate Higgins (Sakura in Naruto)
. Hewkii - Matt Mercer (MCree from Overwatch)
. Kongu - Ryan Reynolds
. Nuparu - Warren Kole (also Uncharted 4)
. Matoro - Alessandro Juliani (Vakama in the original LOMN movie)
The Piraka
Zaktan - Darin Da Paul (Reinhardt in Overwatch)
Reidak - Christopher L. Parson (Junkrat in Overwatch)
Thok - Courtney Leacock (From the Island of Doom fan movie and yes, is perfect for the role)
Hakann - Noah Productions (The creator of that Movie, and who I think fits the character)
Avak - Jackson Trent (Again from that movie bc he fit the character so well)
Vezok - Fred Tatasciore (Soldier 76, Nikolai from Call of Duty)
Not including Vezon bc he is a boss character.
The Barraki
Kalmah - Jeremy Davies (Baldur from God of War 2018)
Takadox - Michael Dobson (Pythor from Ninjago)
Karapar - Josh Petersdorf (Roadhog from Overwatch)
Mantax - Kevin Silverstein (Torbjorn from Overwatch)
Ehlek - Paul Dobson (Nhidiki from LOMN)
Pridak - Noah Productions (again)
The Makuta
. Chirox - Paul Dobson
. Vamprah - Steve Blum (Star scream)
. Antroz - Warren Blackie (From the same movie as Noah Productions)
Not including Teridax bc he's a boss character
The Titans/Boss Battle Characters
Axonn - Christopher Judge (Kratos in God of War 2018)
Brutaka - Mark Oliver (Garmadon from Ninjago)
Umbra - Warren Kole
Irnakk - Scott McNeal (The Overlord from Ninjago)
Karzahni - Jeremy Davies
Vezon - Steve Blum
Teridax - Christopher Judge
The Matoran
Garan - The voice of Matoran Onewa (From LOMN)
Balta - Nolan North
Piruk - Yoshihisa Kawahara (Genji from Overwatch)
Kazi - Jackson Trent
Velika - Yoshihisa Kawahara
Dalu - Cherami Leigh Kuehn (Lucy from Fairy Tail)
//////
and that's it! Obviously not the best idea ever, but I wanted to jot it down bc it's a pretty cool idea to have an actual canon Bionicle game, and I like to think of the future.
Thanks for reading!

Must-watch Super Best Friends LPs: A curated list
So, I tried to get a friend of mine into bestfriends when he was in active service and didn’t have much time to sit and watch youtube. While I think you should probably watch all of the bestfriends content, aint nobody got time for that, and there are certain LPs that are just better ones. Here’s a list of what I consider to be the best SBFP lets plays. There won’t be any ‘Matt’s toybox’ or one-offs, only full LPs.
Predator: Concrete Jungle - Originator of Jerry the Predator, the very first bestfriends OC. Also I really like the Predator so this trash game getting ripped to shreds by the anti-hype machine makes me feel good. https://youtu.be/0wF6r-JRTvQ
Eternal Darkness - The climax of the very first Shitstorm of Scariness. Genesis of the Insanity Shotgun, marking out about recognizing Metal Gear Solid voice actors, INSANITY EFFECTS and freaking out about the bathtub scare despite knowing it was coming. https://youtu.be/lYRVeFkTvCM
Silent Hill: Homecoming - First half of the Downcoming series. ‘MY HOUSE!’ ‘Why is the knife the best weapon? Just do knife combos to them, thats survival horror’ https://youtu.be/GLgN5WSiiX4
Silent Hill: Downpour - Second half of the Downcoming series. The first time I saw the guys play a game that was brand new at the time. Pat & Matt getting upset about the downturn of one of my and their favorite series. The famous Axe Throw that launched a career is in this one too I believe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5ofoIeb8wI&list=PLAD720396A1870C8E
Resident Evil 2 - Earliest recorded footage of Pat’s stand CRAZY TALK where he claims to know a thing or be an expert and is proven unequivocably wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Cgbuv3cB1Q&list=PLB8826287748EFE7C
Final Fight: Streetwise - What happens when you take a classic beat em up and try to make it cool and modern with lots of Slipknot music? It ages fucking poorly that’s what. ‘I got a receipt for my Tatsu’ ‘I’d like to return this shoryureppa’, Live footage of the bestfriends souls leaving their body in The Stiff boss fight, Some actually decent writing and lines such as ‘Feeling good about potentially feeling good’ which Matt will quote for years to come. https://youtu.be/HnRNyfzKLL8
Man vs Wild - Not so much a must-watch as it’s just the boys in their element, playing shovelware, deliberately failing QTEs to laugh at how pitiful it looks when you do, making fun of people’s accents, and much more. Indicative of the bestfriends style of sort of mst3king videogames. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1NGPAOrE80&list=PL57hJfweW_2s2jyxas78kIib9M3jGduU8
Heavy Rain - The very first game played in the Sadness trilogy. ‘Oh no, I made ze bad game’, more fucking up of QTEs when it’d be funny, Detective Shelby’s PI Gumball technique after shooting thirty rounds out of a handgun without reloading, FUTURE GLASSES, and other classics. Woolie will play this himself on a livestream, many years later, which is also a good watch. https://youtu.be/Qe-SpjInztQ
Indigo Prophecy - The first game of the Sadness trilogy, though it was played later than Heavy Rain. Space kung-fu, zombie sex with a lady you barely know, your choices don’t matter!, Slagging off of David Cage intensifies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YacYbUC_FmQ&list=PL57hJfweW_2sOt01sX9TtQRkzv5RS231f
Charles Barkley’s Shut Up And Jam: Gaiden - Seems to be originally selected as a ‘ha ha, we’re playing a bad and stupid game to laugh at it’ but then discovering it’s legitimately awesome despite being frankly ridiculous. If you can’t play the game yourself, this is a very good substitute. https://youtu.be/xNc9R1zfwM0
Beyond: Two Souls - The third game of the Sadness trilogy. David Cage creeping on Ellen Paige in real life and making her be naked in his game, E MO SHUNS, having feelings but not knowing where to put them, ‘I’ll be your Stand! ORARARARARARA’, Underwater chinese ghost base. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA_VUoePgrc&list=PL57hJfweW_2ulXc25A-LxxHXMPqLOwrsf
Deadly Premonition - Swery65′s magnum opus, if only he could’ve put bicycles in the game. He totally didn’t watch Twin Peaks you guys. ‘QUIIIIIIINT!’, ‘Stinky agent’, radio fast travel stock tire screech sfx, monkey noise squirrels and a weird amount of attention paid to food. Matt named his pet cat Zach due to this game, so it’s an extra important part of the bestfriends lore. https://youtu.be/dsbfmIqP-H8
Disaster: Day of Crisis - Metal Gear Solid except the giant robots are natural disasters. Gotta get revenge on the volcano for killing my buddy. Eating watermelons while on fire. Don’t forget to take your stami-nas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Sx8gqSjkMY&list=PL57hJfweW_2t-vHWWeqjY2SKH4vaqotZ6
Yakuza 4 - My first exposure to the Yakuza game series and actually a good starting point for people that don’t know anything about it. The hype, badassery, and hilarity in all its glory. Who’s ready for a shirtless fight on top of Millennium Tower? https://youtu.be/xOKx_79BEhY
Prison Break - More shovelware where they fail stealth sequences a million times, fail QTEs because it’s hilarious, and can’t show too much violence because it’s a T-rated game. https://youtu.be/TsjGGGSZabA
Resident Evil 4 HD - Get hype for suplexing priests, El Gigante, Doctor Salvatore, Isn’t that Mexican spanish not Spanish Spanish? Commando shit and the RE movie, Oops Ashley is dead again, Pat is bad at puzzles and crazy talk activates. https://youtu.be/qsazQp4VlI0
Silent Hill 2 - Everything is illness, or else its condoms! The nurses are TOO STRONG!, the boys actually just enjoying a game and (mostly) being good at it for once.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsYYIjaNPP8&list=PL57hJfweW_2vMmw0MLZp8I16DA-Qev8ec
Resident evil Revelations 2 - Re vuh lay uh tons!, Wait how’d a non mainline resi game get this good?, MOIRA MC TAGGART MC MURPHY, another co-op LP where Matt’s actual role in the game mechanics is to point out ammo and health items that Pat missed. https://youtu.be/THfgNlcNa98
Resident Evil 3 - Jill Valentine’s not actually last escape, Crazy Talk activates several times, Shitting on Hunter-D’s, being a huge coward constantly like the hero of RE brad vickers. https://youtu.be/G5pXyRhs7FM
Ride to Hell - Legendarily bad game played by canadian losers that make fun of it constantly. Source of just SO MANY bestfriends gifs including casual priest drownings, getting shot during cutscenes, and Qui-gon chi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEw04pKaVs4&list=PL57hJfweW_2srGztN1iedcFd-BV5X1Ram
Parasite Eve - It’s time for Aya Breakowski to GET HOT. It’s a squaresoft game all right, dogs with sniper rifles, finishing downloading arcana heart, and the heroest of hero cops willingly lighting on fire to give you a gun. https://youtu.be/dHY5ZBSHzyw
Danganronpa - Ultra Despair Girls - First recorded instance of being incredibly hype and getting into the cool pop art aesthetic, komaeda memes, and then all hype leaving our body, and out of context shouting KILL THOSE SHIT KIDS! https://youtu.be/qYtYp4oWBhU
Life is Strange - Liam’s rivalry with another wimpy boy, Hotdogman: Who is he?, You sacrificed everyone for your Ship? Are you Griffith?, and rewinding time to fuck with people for kicks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XZ7-wFLnfI&list=PL57hJfweW_2u1mKS5UFNgx-voVAvTlkT9
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - Built-up hype from over one thousand years of waiting is collectively released. Psycho Mantis is OP, let the legend come back to life, GREATEST SOLDIER IN THE WORLD BIG BOSS, D-dog is the cutest and bestest of boys, and famously awkward jeep ride. https://youtu.be/505vXWYkxcw
Afro Samurai - Perhaps the shovelest of ware ever played on the channel. It’s very short, only 3 parts, about 90 minutes of gameplay, something that everyone should be super hype about but ends up being the most shitted on game since perhaps one of the Sadness games. https://youtu.be/wIXqEulMTIo
Resident Evil Zero HD - Get hyped for Oven Man mk2, math puzzles, getting pissed off at Eliminators, Rebecca! God dammit Rebecca! I love youuuuu rebeccaaaaaa, Leech Man, and playing dress-up. https://youtu.be/Mhnthhluh70
Metal Wolf Chaos - Giant robots and engrish, more than your body can handle! AMERICA!!!! Richard Hawke! OK, Lets PARTEEEEEEEY! Tons of references they’ll be using until the end of time https://youtu.be/Mhnthhluh70
Naruto: The Broken Bond - ‘Wait, this game is actually good?’ and then three parts later oops no its not. Second instance of being super hyped at first and then all joy slowly being sucked out of the boys’ body. Do your rasengan, even when you’re not playing as Naruto! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo92m-rfeHA&list=PL57hJfweW_2uIIqa3HTcbsvM5LO1ObM_5
The Punisher - Rice cookers, My family-family-family!, guessing Frank’s one-liners, violent safety PSAs, and interrogating the boat https://youtu.be/wznGw9fJNCc
Disaster Report - ‘Is this Disaster day of crisis’ sequel?’, The honeycomb-caisonne method, press triangle to HEY!, be mean to your waifu, and abandon your friends like a hero would do. https://youtu.be/UYiwWU8EZcU
Final Fantasy X - Matt talks about Lulu’s boobs a lot, BLEETSBOLL, Wakka the racist, kimahri push, Finding all the memes possible, Hype Cactaur!, ‘I’ll pay you to fuck off, okay?’, and punting a boss over the horizon. A long watch and the boys are kinda bad at the game but good for the patient. https://youtu.be/qpZeMkthdZ8
Omikron: The Nomad Soul - The secret first entry of the Sadness Trilogy, ‘Get in the slider!’, Blackface Boyz, The real final boss is david cage!, getting trapped in bug purgatory, yes this is how you should honor the memory David Bowie by playing this game, Using the power of all three bestfriends to beat the game, and having no consequences for failure right up until THE MOST CONSEQUENCES. https://youtu.be/691RrF9pnaU
Silent Hill 3 - No talking during the cut scenes, beef jerky, a detective does a Jerry Seinfeld on Silent Hill by accident, and ‘It’s a metaphor for dicks/childbirth!‘

Tony Hawk’s Underground - Woolie lives the skateboarder life he never could for real. ‘Won’t they notice that it’s not Eric Sparrow on the video when they see a clearly black man doing that jump?’, Eric Sparrow is basically up there with Griffith for villains the bestfriends hate the most, and ‘I can do a grind all day’ https://youtu.be/3HLPS_nwHG8
Parasite Eve 2 - More of Breakowski and getting HOT, ‘This is basically a survival horror game’, The dog from Independance Day must survive or else you’re on the bad ending! https://youtu.be/JedQqaXdWLc
LA Noire - The big one, the one I always suggest for new bestfriends watchers as being emblematic of their style and sense of humor and weaknesses as players. Woolie can’t navigate this map, ‘Sometimes you’ve gotta shake the tree and see what falls out’, Shotgun man wrecks your shit!, making noises to go along with the faces that the characters are making, ‘Pedophilia? That’s a free pass in my town sir’, Stealing the worst possible cars because they thought it’d be cool, forgetting the controls for every single fistfight sequence, Cole Phelps super cop!, and LP Funsies. https://youtu.be/-bPqjD_zg5g
Policenauts - Kojima’s game from when he was allowed to work on things besides Metal Gear. It’s definitely white blood and not anything sexual, SHOOTINGU SEQUENCE, Holy crap our main character is a bigoted piece of shit!, Figure out the bomb puzzle!, We’re definitely not Riggs and Murtagh to the point where Woolie says ‘I’m gettin too old for this shit’ about 70 times, and the uncomfortable truth of cloning. https://youtu.be/kWcecAHiOys
Dead Space 2- Notable mostly for me as Dead Space 2 was the first bestfriends video I ever saw back when they were on Machinima, so I was quoting Space Rave and asking Matt if he needed a blankey to fight the monsters. https://youtu.be/1QzY-TjFGFI
Resident Evil 7 - We hate the molded as an enemy type, OOOH GOD DAMMIT JACK, He fucking exploded into goo!, What was your plan?, I can’t shoot the granny, We definitely used a pump action shotgun in world war 2 (Actually yes we did, Matt), Shadow puzzles, that part of a lady is where all the wasps shoot out, and What that guy doesn’t look like Chris Redfield who is this impostor?! https://youtu.be/SyAZ2-nijDE
Def Jam: Fight for NY - The introduction of Woolie’s OC: Rage beats up rappers, steals their girlfriends, and doesn’t understand intimacy, The full might of Matt’s hatred for Bless is brought out, and they talk about the Aki engine’s contributions to humanity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lry0SYYkvas&list=PL57hJfweW_2tWHTvp2ESXbzp1-jh6YJMQ

(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)
(Imagem: Jessica Pinheiro/Canaltech)

Better known in the West as Seven Deadly Sins, Nanatsu no Taizai is a fantasy action manga created by Nakaba Suzuki set in a weird “Middle Age” era land of Britannia. Thanks to its overwhelming success, the manga has been adapted to an anime as part of Netflix’s long time strategy of getting exclusive content, and this year the media expansion continues with The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia, an exclusive PlayStation 4 game (although I should note that a previous game was already done with the franchise on the Nintendo 3DS only for Japan). The question now is: will the Western audience be delighted by Meliodas and his merry troupe’s videogame adventure?
The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia, as most videogame adaptation, is a continuation of the main manga storyline:: the Liones Kingdom is in danger and Elizabeth Liones, one of the king’s daughters, is looking for Seven Deadly Sins, a group of knights that used to serve the royal family before they were ousted by the Holy Knights. Luckily, she finds Meliodas, the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, knowns as the Dragon’s Sin of Wrath, who is living his life now as an innkeeper of the Boar Hat, which will mark the beginning of a crazy adventure full of violent fights. Now heads up! For you to really enjoy The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia as a game, it is crucial to have read the manga or watched the anime because unfortunately, the game’s storytelling is simply sloppy.
Unlike other anime and manga adaptations, such as the marvelous Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm which I’m a huge fan, The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia has a storytelling structure that is just chaotic and vague. The conversations between characters are content with the minimum, with many details ignored, and the cutscenes are really crude in terms of technological feat. That’s mostly because characters are barely moving or speaking, almost like robots devoid of emotion, with even scenes where no facial expressions occur in crucial dramatic plots. Difficult then for those who do not know the franchise to be interested in history, even if they are actually interesting in the manga.
If the characters are well rendered and faithful to the anime series, and some of the visual effects are great, I’m really annoyed by the environments or fighting arenas. I get that it’s an adaptation of an anime and manga, but it makes the characters look awkward, as they are designed with cell-shading model techniques, yet everything around them are PlayStation 3 era textures and harsh designs. At least on a technical point of view, the game runs smoothly, with some small drops in the framerate when it’s too crowded, or there’s a deluge of special effects on screen.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia presents itself as a curious mix between a fighting and action game, a bit like Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and similar titles in the series. First, you explore Britannia via a map which you access in the Boar Hat, and can then pick various missions and quests directly in the field or through your visits to villages. It’s one of the few aspects of the game that are rather correct, with a nicely detailed map and a great accompanying soundtrack, but its mechanics are also something that slows down the pace of the adventure more than anything else. In any case, you get access to three types of missions or quests, with the first being some sort of “exploration” themed one with Princess Elizabeth, looking for key items with very basic gameplay mechanics, that can get extremely boring. Fortunately, there are not many missions of this kind in the game.
Then you have major clashes against hordes of enemies, such as simple platoons of soldiers. If you were finally expecting joy like a more dramatic version of Dynasty Warriors, then walk away. The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia use the Musou mechanics as well, with a difficulty almost absent, enemies with limited movement and an artificial intelligence that clearly could use some tweaking. I spent my time hundreds of enemies in the most carefree way, without the slightest sense of danger, except when there’s a time countdown.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
While the manga and the anime show epic and frenzied battles, the game didn’t manage to portray this when you battle the Holy Knights (your rivals if you want). The combat system, inspired by the likes of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm, is the same as the one against basic enemies, enough to disappoint a bit when finally facing the real proper foe. You can move, block, dodge quickly, use a fast, strong, or ranged attack, plus three special techniques, and finally an ultimate attack that cause massive damage. On paper, it sounds good but alas, The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia has neither the complexity of a fighting game nor of an action game worthy of the name, limited to the bare minimum. Plus, don’t get me started on the input lag!
If some special moves can provide a glimpse of excitement, especially with the short-cutscene powered ultimate attacks, and not to mention destructible sets which are well done, I did get tired pretty quickly due to numerous issues. Like the “minions”, the major enemy AI is just too dumb even with the highest difficulty, allowing me sometimes to abuse some gameplay mechanics to pretty much get a perfect score. While this can get boring, it’s not as annoying as the camera engine that is often misplaced, a lack of clarity in the action because of a shower of special effects, but also really rigid animations that basically ruins the immersion.
As you probably got by now, The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia’s gameplay is not the most exciting one. Even for an adaptation of a another media franchise, which limits the freedom of creation, I clearly saw better. And so comes the struggle to finish the adventure mode which is quite short (10-15 hours), whose only benefits in the end is to unlock more characters for the Duel mode (the game’s version of versus mode). The latter contains 25 characters in total, but considering that most of them are played the same way and there are three versions of Melodias (reminds me of the numerous amount of Naruto versions in his own games), you quickly get through all of the game’s content.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia was reviewed using a PlayStation 4 digital code of the game provided by Bandai Namco. We don’t discuss review scores with publishers or developers prior to the review being published.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia is a disappointing game for fans of Nakaba Suzuki anime, and doesn't have enough to even appeal to fighting or action game fans. Better known in the West as Seven Deadly Sins, Nanatsu no Taizai is a fantasy action manga created by Nakaba Suzuki set in a weird "Middle Age" era land of Britannia.
