Galleryyuhself - Run, don't crawl to Tobago!
...............................................................................
Small island economies often rely heavily on tourism. At Animae Caribe 24 ‘Tobago Edition’ we hop over to our sister isle to demonstrate how 'Tobago Trek' a game inspired by Tobago's rich folklore can impact tourism through technology and gamification. The immersive experience culminates in a thrilling ‘Night Crawl,’ a scenic bus tour across Tobago's haunted hills, stopping at key locations to redeem digital tokens featured in the game for goods or services on the island. Along the way, participants engage in challenges and visit craft stalls and bars, with the adventure ending around a bonfire at Castara Bay. We might be ‘small islands’ but this immersive cultural experience will show the world how creativity and technology can enhance real-world tourism. Sat 2nd Nov, due to limited tickets registration will open closer to the festival. Supported by Caribbean Development BankCaribe

~Galleryyuhself~ PODCASTS on the Caribbean economy.
What people listen to makes a difference. That’s why to develop our region we need voices who KNOW and UNDERSTAND our region. Voices of Economists who specialize in Caribbean economies. Voices of small business owners in The Bahamas. Voices of energy experts for Jamaica and The Bahamas. Voices of storytellers from Trinidad and Tobago. Voices make a difference in development. https://bddy.me/37t0RTF

TRIBE – The Ultimate Carnival Experience for the Greatest Show on Earth. At TRIBE, we pride ourselves on providing the Ultimate Carnival Experience in Trinidad and Tobago Carnival – one of the largest and most popular Carnivals in the world, and commonly referred to as “the greatest show on Earth”. From our humble beginnings in 2004, TRIBE’S mission has been to deliver the quintessential masquerader experience every year by matching the greatest show with the greatest service. In our inaugural year alone, we established a new standard of industry service by becoming the first all-inclusive Carnival band in Trinidad and Tobago. Since then we’ve grown from strength to strength each year, by consistently improving our already unparalleled service to always meet (but typically exceed) your increasing demands and expectations. Over a decade later, TRIBE has completely revolutionized the Carnival landscape, quickly becoming the largest Carnival band in Trinidad and Tobago and surpassing others that came long before it. In spite of such rapid growth, TRIBE never compromises quality over quantity, and we continue to perfect our product by keeping the masquerader at the fore and core of our operations. This unwavering consumer-driven mantra allows TRIBE to boast a consistent ‘sold out’ track record every year since our inception. A true industry pioneer, TRIBE always delivers from our band launch to our Las’ Lap, and we have you covered from registration to the road. Now approaching our 14th year and showing no signs of slowing down, we’re well on our way to one day earning the title of “the greatest band on Earth”, if we haven’t already.General InformationBand Leader: Dean Ackin 2018 Design Team: Monique Nobrega, Gail Cabral, Ruana Evans, Shawn Dhanraj, Solange Govia, Rhion Romany, Richard & Anthony Concepts & Designs Section Leaders Solange Govia | Anya Elias | Anya Ayoung-Chee | Sandra Hordatt | Samantha Ammon | Ruana Evans Marketing Affiliates SCORCH | Air Committee | Illusions Mas | TriniJungleJuice | Corah Ann Sylvester | BOOM Jamaica | UK TRIBE | Euphoria Carnival UK | Xaymaca Carnival (Jamaica) | ICEBOX Entertainment | The Golden Pineapple TRIBE Committee Members Andrea Deoseran . ~Galleryyuhself~ A few years ago I wrote an article about the carnival economy. I asked the question, is the government correct in stating that the festival is a billion dollar industry? With all of the glamour, noise and partying, it was hard to quantify whether all that we see really translates into big bucks back then.  However, now, it is clear that it is that time of year when the captive audience is not watching their pennies that closely and Carnival can indeed stack up the figures.

“cobots”
These currents in hospitality represent a subtle, sneaky form of technological displacement, care of the gig economy. They’re not robots stepping in for humans on a factory floor, but rather smartphone-based independent contractors and supplemental “cobots” (a portmanteau of “co-worker” and “robot”) chipping away at the careers of full-time and in some cases unionized employees.
- excerpt from the New York Times article (The Gig Economy Is Coming for Your Job) Full-time union hotel workers are watching app-based services replace them. Who’s next?By E. Tammy Kim

Trinidad & Tobago Budget 2020 excerpt
• Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
Madam Speaker, small-and-medium-sized businesses remain a central pillar
in our development strategy for achieving sustained economic growth. We
are particularly pleased that Development Finance Limited of Trinidad and
Tobago has been able to secure a US$10.0 million loan from the Caribbean
Development Bank for on-lending to small- and medium-sized enterprises.
70
Madam Speaker, the focus of that lending on agricultural, industrial and
tourism activities is well-advised. This direction is consistent with our own
development agenda to increase viable investments to the productive SME
sector, given its positive impact on the rate of economic growth, employment
and income. • EXIMBANK Facility
Madam Speaker, the EXIMBANK Foreign Exchange Facility, appropriately
resourced by the Government has been meeting the foreign exchange
requirements of the non-oil domestic manufacturers who have been
achieving the qualifying criteria. The original allocation of US$10 million has
been fully utilized and we recently approved a second tranche of US$10
million
