FOX DEER-STEP. a rogue Bosmer druid in Galen, lives in the woods and is generally a massive nuisance with her overly free way of thinking/she doubles as a DND character. She shifts into animals.
YES she actually has the strange feet and tail, in TES this is because she experiments with strange and powerful wild nature magic, its changed her and made her eccentric, with a cow’s tail, deer feet, goat eyes and a hunger for sweet meats. She’s capable of speaking many of Tamriel’s languages.

Galene, Greek God Bsd Oc! Roleplay blog!

More world building for Maglor’s Gap
This focuses mainly on agriculture and food production
Part one here
As always please feel free to ask more!
A lovely anon asked: “Have you done a world-building post on the land between Greater Gelion and Lesser Gelion, that belonged to Maglor? My headcanon sa ys it was economically important, providing food from its farmland for Maglor's followers.”
I had done a general world building post for the region but I’m always happy to do more because I love world building!
I think your headcanon is right! Though it’s difficult to say for certain as the environmental descriptions for the realms of the Fëanorians in Northeast Beleriand are vague, available maps and the brief descriptions we have do seem to suggest that much of the area between Greater and Little Gelion south of the actual Gap was wider and flatter lands presumably plains, steppe or scrublands.
Wide areas of grassland would certainly be important given the population of horses and the reliance on them for the cavalry and army. I think that Maglor also used the lands North of the Gap (Lothlann and part of Ard Galen) for grazing then had more formal agricultural projects South of the Gap.
During the Watchful Peace, the followers of Maglor grew rye and oats both of which could be used in a number of ways for both elves and horses.
Orchards, molded after a number of places including ones in Valinor as well as Mithrim and Ossiriand, are grown in the southern area of the Gap near the confluence of Little and Greater Gelion. Several species of apple, cherry, and stone fruits were grown here. Following the Dagor Bragollach, these became eerie graveyards of skeletal, twisted trees, avoided by both elves and most creatures.
Much of elven agricultural and food producing ventures, across different cultures, include the cultivation and protection of native species and the maintaining of ecological balance. This is no different in Maglor’s Gap where the host of Maglor relied heavily on hunting and foraging as well as their own introduced crops.
Alongside horses, sheep and goats are kept by some of the host. Wool is not produced on a wide scale as most textiles comes from imported linen, cotton and flax as well as leather and fur products produced in the Gap but it is spun on a small scale and especially used to supplement winter garments and in the making of bags and blankets. Goat is valued for wool more highly than sheep. A few of the higher ups in the gap wear sashes of pure white wool spun from goats.
Milk products are primarily through sheep and goat. Most from cows milk are from trade with Hithlum which is relatively unique in its population of bovines for Beleriand
Emu are actually domesticated in some parts of the world and I love the idea of them being kept in both the Gap and Himlad as well as by peoples East of the Ered Luin. They have a huge variety of uses including leather, oil, eggs and meat. And the chicks are very cute 💙
Trade is primarily with Thargelion, Himlad and Estolad, Hithlum and some parts of Ossiriand outside Finwëan rule.
I hope this answers your question, anon! As always please feel free to ask more!

Hello!
I was wondering: what exactly people, who are living on the other trees, consume on the regular basis? Is Ledici tree/pear tree the only food source? If it is, wouldn't such restricted diet make people fall ill? Or they adapted in some way?..
Btw, you have a really great imagination. Your world building is so fascinating!
THank you <33
There are grain and vegetable farms on the other trees as well, so they have a pretty balanced diet in that sense.
The Ledici tree is the main food provider because it has strong and wide middle branches that can support a large farming district. For Galen, their branches tend to have a high incline, which makes it harder for farms to thrive. Feuon has a similar problem with their branches being too narrow and frail for large plots of earth. Both of them still grow most of their own crops, just not enough to sustain their entire populations. Taris came close to competing with Ledici's farming district before it burnt down, and was somewhat self sustainable.
For livestock, they are very rare and only the Upper Canopies can afford to raise them. As there is not enough space on any tree for large grazing lands, the livestock consists of mostly goats, sheep and chickens.
All of the trees partake in "sky fishing", which is just shooting birds with roped arrows. Although it isn't a huge part of their diet, wild fowl is not uncommon in the trees with less agriculture.
#they still lack a bunch of the foods that we eat on a daily basis#no coffee or chocolate for them :(#worldbuilding

My throat tightened as I thought of all those we had lost. If I was lucky, Langor had been one of the unluckiest. How could he stay strong through so many losses?
“You should sleep, Kira,” he said kindly. “I can watch the children alone, but the others are close by if I need help.” When I started to protest, he went on, “You’re already nodding off. Go; find a bed.”
As he helped me up, I said, “I suppose you’re right. If I’m too sleepy to argue with you, I’m too sleepy to stand watch.”
“Exactly so. Good night.”
Morha had made up pallets on the floor of the attic, and we adults had been taking turns sleeping there. When I reached the stairs I met Morha herself, carrying a mug of steaming tea. She offered it to me.
“Terata said you have been troubled by bad dreams,” she said. “Maybe this will help you sleep more soundly.” Like her husband, Morha seemed to have chosen to set aside the grief she must be feeling for her dead children. Instead she concentrated on seeing to it that the rest of us felt welcome and comfortable in her house, as though we had chosen to stay there rather than being trapped.
“Thank you, Morha. I’m tired enough now that I may not even need it.” I took the mug anyway, inhaling the warm herbal scent of the tea. “It smells delicious,” I said, smiling at my neighbor.
She turned back toward the front room, then hesitated. “Kira, I feel badly about you having to sleep on the floor in your condition. Perhaps you should use my bed.”
“I thought Hareno had claimed it for himself, as the eldest here.”
Morha’s smile had a weary twist; perhaps she too had grown tired of Hareno’s constant complaints. “He may be the headman now, but even he would not be so cruel as to make a pregnant woman sleep on a hard floor. If he doesn-t like it, I’ll tell him he can sleep in the barn with the goats.”
We shared a quiet chuckle at the thought of the old man bedded down with Langor’s rambunctious billy. “Thank you again,” I said. “You’ll wake me if you need me?”
“We will. Good night, Kira.”
I wandered back to my past in a dream, far back to childhood. I saw myself sitting on the bank of the stream with Cothry and Galen. They were two years older than me, but there were too few children in the village for any of us to discriminate about playmates.
I was crying, in the dream, and after a moment I remembered why: My father had died the day before. My mother, caught up in her grief and being comforted by her friends, hadn’t noticed when I slipped out of the house. I had meant to be alone. But the boys, coming down to the stream to fish, had found me.
Rather than try to cheer me up, as my mother’s friends had done, Cothry and Galen let me be while they stood nearby, preparing their fishing poles. After a time, watching them distracted me, and I went to join them.
A fish stole Cothry’s first bait, and he offered the hook and a new worm to me. “Want to do it?”
I made a face, but took the worm from him. It wriggled between my fingers and I tried to strike the balance between not dropping it and not holding it too tightly. “She doesn’t know how,” Galen teased.
“I do so!” I retorted. I snatched the bare hook from Cothry, then gave a gasping shriek as the sharp-barbed steel sank into my thumb.
The worm dropped to the dirt as Cothry grabbed my hand. “Oh, gods, Kira, I’m sorry.”
“I did it, not you,” I said, pulling away. Blood spattered my apron, and my eyes welled up again, making it hard for me to see the damage I’d done to my thumb. I was angry at my own carelessness, and now I would have to get help from my mother. As if she didn’t have enough to worry about.
“Let me see,” Galen said.

BOTR - Day 12 - June 26, 2024
We weren’t in a rush to get out of the house. Our plan was to go up by the Hyalite Reservoir and hike to see a few waterfalls. If we were lucky we’d see some wildlife from a distance.
After breakfast, we hit the road. We stopped at the reservoir for a break and met a couple from Virginia on a 40th anniversary celebration trip, 41 years into their marriage. We enjoyed comparing notes with them on places we’ve been and places to go.
We then rolled around the reservoir and onto a mile or two of pothole-filled gravel road (in Jane’s low-to-the-ground Subaru) to get to the trailhead. We planned to hike some of the Hyalite Creek Trail.
Our first waterfall was Grotto Falls. There we said hi to a mom who had her 2 and 5 year old boys with her. They were climbing over rocks and generally enjoying themselves.
Grotto Falls
At this falls, Diane spotted an American Dipper. This fearless bird would dive into the rough water looking for bugs. It would be cool to have an underwater camera to see it in action. I can’t imagine how it could plunge into such fast moving water and pop back up just a few feet further downstream.
After lots of selfies, we climbed back up to the trail. Through the trees, on the canyon wall above us, we could see Twin Falls. I’m guessing they dropped over 100 feet, side-by-side, from the top of the cliff into the trees below.
Twin Falls
A little further up the trail, we stopped to investigate little white dots that we spotted in the cliffs above. They just so happened to be 8 mountain goats lounging on a crevice.
Zoom to see mountain goats. Ha!
A half mile further up the trail we stepped over to see Arch Falls. The path to the falls hung over a steep drop into the creek. Unfortunately, none of us had the confidence to snatch a look at the arch. A couple guys had just come off the path so we asked to see their pictures. The falls crashing through the arch looked quite impressive! If only we saw it live.
Can’t see the arch behind the trees!
Just a pic…
Jeanne and Diane working the trail. It wasn’t all this tough.
In our way back to the trailhead it started to rain so we decided to forego our last waterfall. With the rain the temps dropped from the mid 70s to the mid 50s. Driving back to Bozeman the temps came back up and the sun came out.
We had a few extra folks join us for dinner at Sidewall Pizza… Jane’s housemates Galen and Margo. They both just so happen to be grade school friends from Carrboro.
L-R: Margo, Steve, Jeanne, Diane, Jane, Galen
After a delicious meal and an attempt at getting ice cream (too crowded), we headed for home and a good night’s sleep!

If I may toss in my two?
Bastila Shan. Why? Cause she's fun. A lil uptight in certain areas, very unsure of herself, but a great character in KOTOR nonetheless.
And of course. I'd be remiss if I didn't include one of my favorites.
Yes, he's the Broly of Star Wars. Yes Cal Kestis is, in many ways his better to me. Yes, he only turned to the light at the end of his game and his clone did the same. I do not care. Galen Marek will always have a place in my heart.
And of course, I can't forget the OG WHO NOBODY HAS PUT ON HERE I THINK.
Luke Skywalker. The original GOAT Jedi to me. Compassionate, a good duelist, and a goofball. I love him to death.
List of Jedi that are Perfect
So listen, I know Obi-Wan has a lot of fans who will endlessly talk about how perfect he is and that he invented perfection. However, I would like to put forward that the Jedi in general some other Jedi also are perfect and invented perfection. Here is a very small number of them.
Luminara Unduli
She makes sure she’s prepared, loves her padawan, and is very good at staying focused. She also is good at accepting reality and growing as a person. Have I mentioned that she’s also just really nice? Plus, she pulls off black better than any Sith.
Kit Fisto
He’s cheerful, loves his former Padawan, and is very good at puzzles. He is also good at accepting reality. Did I mention that he’s also very kind? Plus, you can’t deny he has a good smile.
Mace Windu
He is dutiful, focused, and patient. He is also cool and composed. Did I mention that he’s also super nice and kind as well? And you can’t deny the coolness that is purple lightsaber.
Yoda
Possibly the most perfect of all. He is wise, humorous, and kind. He also loves teaching, his grandpadawans, and teaching his grandpadawans. Did I mention that he loves all the Jedi and loves teaching them? And there is no denying he is a great frog grandpa.
(If anyone else wants to add on to this with a Jedi you think is perfect, or talk more about the ones I already listed, feel free. The only rule I’m laying down is no Obi-Wan, because there is more then enough on the internet about how Obi-Wan is perfect.)

Please always feel free to ask more! For this location or any others! And feel free to suggest locations for world building posts
Maglor’s Gap is an area of Northeastern Beleriand. It lies at the Southern end of the plains of Lothlann with the March of Maedhros on the West and Mount Rerir and Thargelion at the East.
We sadly know very little about the horsemen of Maglor other than that they were burned alive in Lothlann during the Dagor Bragollach. But as Tolkien World Building is my favorite thing, here’s some speculation
The cavalry is made up of over 300 Noldorin riders though duty is cycled so there is usually a group of twenty to fifty inactive or in less intensive tasks They are primarily a defensive measure, protecting Eastern Beleriand from invasion from the North.
Most carry a sword though there are a significant number of archers as well. The cavalry is highly disciplined and trained in both solo and smaller missions as well as coordinated combat operations involving large numbers
The Cavalry live in a number of low, wooden halls located in the foothills. Smaller, cabin like stations dot the route North towards Ard Galen where some stay during longer missions
The horses are bred in Lothlann and graze largely in the wild plains and meadow steppes. About forty elves are involved full time in their care during the watchful peace. The number drops during more dangerous times
The organization and governance of the gap is somewhere between that of the highly organized and fortified Himring and the loosely governed Himlad with no central citadel. Few records are kept and non military positions outside healers are largely temporary and shared ones, the exception being a few who deal primarily with trade and the acquisition of resources
On that note, resources primarily come from Eastern Beleriand with some imports from East of the Ered Luin and elsewhere in Beleriand. Fiber crops are not grown in the Gap and materials for clothing are accessed through trade with Thargelion*. The material is generally already processed and cleaned and requires only fashioning into clothes. Linen, wool, and silk are the most used with other furs going into linings. Leather is also imported from Himlad and Thargelion.
Some clothing is made by individuals who acquire the materials through hunting
*who also get many materials from elves, men and dwarves East of the Ered Luin
Maglor’s Gap does have a small fortress in the more mountainous Northeast near the border to Thargelion. This served temporarily as Maglor’s own home too. It was built from stone and earth to blend into the surrounding landscape (though most was above ground unlike Nargothrond
Fish from the two nearby rivers and various streams are caught often for food and are eaten more than other meat. Seeds and bread made from various flours are also eaten along with often bitter wild vegetables such as wild spinach, purslane, lamb’s quarters, red and green dandelions, etc. Salt is another traded resource. Butter and any other dairy products are somewhat rare. Goat milk products are available somewhat more than cow as goat and sheep are more common in Eastern Beleriand
The majority of the Cavalry perished during Dagor Bragollach. The rest fled towards Himring with a small number traveling further South
