GALATIANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 1
Wednesday, 2/5/25
SCRIPTURE:
He gave Himself for our sins, so He could deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. ~ Galatians 1:4 Am I trying to win over human beings or God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I wouldn’t be Christ’s slave. ~ Galatians 1:10
OBSERVATION:
Personalizing verse 4:
He gave Himself for my sins...
...so He could deliver me from this present evil age...
...according to the will our God and Father...
That said...
I can't "win over" God...
He's already "on my side..."
The proof is Jesus!
Am I trying to win folks over to God?
...or trying to please them?
Can't always do both...
When push comes to shove - in love - Jesus!
APPLICATION:
Be Christ's slave...
Win folks over through Jesus... pleasing them if/when I can...
PRAYER:
Verse 5: To God be the glory forever and always! Amen.
Closing with verse 3:
Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

"THAT CONTAINER IS LYING ABOUT ITS CONTENTS"
Matthew 7:15, “Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you LOOKING LIKE SHEEP on the OUTSIDE, but on the INSIDE they are really like wild WOLVES.” (GNT) My two favorite seasons are Winter and Fall! Winter, because I love Christmas, snow, carols, decorations and the like. And Fall, because I love the colors, Thanksgiving, the start of the scent of fireplaces, but most of all,…

Feminists, I want to express how I feel when I see all of you (as someone who once held feminist views and disliked men a decade ago, but now that I have gained understanding): Enough with the sabotage!

I wonder if OP realizes just how close they were to what the Bible says.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 1 John 2:9
Here's the clincher:
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. 1 John 2:29
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 ("Kindness" may not be on the list, but there's several fruits of the Spirit that fill the same role.)
It's not about an "attempt." Altruism can ONLY come from God. Any kindness man tries to do on his own is still selfish. How many "kind" people do acts of kindness only because it makes them feel good?
Jesus didn't feel good about going to the cross- in fact, he was so torn up about it that he literally sweat blood- but He did it anyway, out of: a) devotion and obedience to His Father; and b) love for us. Sometimes love and obedience feel like pain and sorrow and fear and death. But if you love Jesus and The Father and have the Holy Spirit inside you, you'll do it anyway, because you can't not do it.
this has been said before but I feel like it is very important to view being kind as something you do rather than something that you are because all people have the capacity for meanness and cruelty and often use it inadvertently but the point is to change your behavior and your attitude and practice paying attention and being selfless and sincere and vulnerable and putting kindness and warmth into your actions and words instead of being like oh I value kindness and thus I am such a good person. like it’s about the attempt

Understanding the Cross in Latter-day Saint Teachings: Responding to Criticism with Clarity and Respect
The cross is one of the most recognizable symbols in Christianity, yet its role within Latter-day Saint theology often sparks curiosity and critique. Some question why members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints don’t display the cross prominently, while others view it as neglecting an essential Christian symbol. However, understanding the cross in Latter-day Saint teachings sheds…

Christmas is the Most Theological Time of the Year
Christmas is the most theological time of the year. It’s the time when the second member of the Trinity, God the Son, came into this world and took upon Himself humanity (John 1:1, 14). At a moment in time, in the womb of the virgin Mary, by a supernatural act of God the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35), the hypostatic union was formed, and Jesus became the theanthropic Person, the God-Man, undiminished…

So again I ask, does God give you His Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
Daily Verse Reading – Galatians 3:1-5 Faith or Works of the Law3 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to…

Church notes - 1st September 2024
1st Galatians 3
1 Corinthians 2 The Holy Spirit Instructing God's people.
The giving of the Holy Spirit follows the Resurrection.
vs 13 Human wisdom vs God's wisdom.
Demonstration of the Spirit's power. vs 14 Paul wanted them to be convinced by something that couldn't be refuted.
People being born again; a demonstration of God's Spirit.
Revelation of God's wisdom.
vs 7 - in first person.
It's not a mystery. There is no mysticism.
The point of the Spirit is to give us understanding of what God has given us. Don't miss the fullness of God's wisdom.
The Spiritual Person. Someone who realises that God has blessed them in order that they might be a blessing to others. We have the mind of Christ. Being about the Father's business.
To have the mind of Christ is essentially a corporate experience.

"CONFRONTING THE ENEMY'S TACTICS!"
Psalm 144:1, “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight” (AMPC) The main tactic of the enemy is deception. “Deception” is defined as, “the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid; to trick; to cheat; to defraud; to be dishonest.” And that’s exactly who the enemy is, a deceiver, liar and the…

Look In the Mirror. If You See a Judge, It's Time for a New Look
Jesus must have been pretty familiar with Obadiah, since many of his statements about being judgmental resonate pretty strongly with this short prophetic word. (In fact, Jesus seemed pretty familiar with ALL of the Old Testament, but that’s a whole ‘nother blog!) One of the things Obadiah said could be paraphrased like this: Take a hard look in the Mirror: if you see a judge looking back at you,…
