Velocivolt Rock/Electric Reconstructed from a bird fossil found in Galar, Velocivolt is a small flightless bird pokemon. While it lacks the electric abilities of its older form, Nykazolt, Velocivolt is a pokemon capable of incredible speed and agility, presumably to keep it safe from predators.
Nykazolt Rock/Electric The evolved form of Velocivolt, its feathers are charged with incredible electric power, and it often shakes them loose as a form of attack, though it will also slice apart foes with its deadly electric arm blades. These blades can also be used to glide an impressive distance with a running start.
Some extra information: - It is thought that this fossil pokemon once lived in rocky and mountainous terrain due to their claws built to dig and grip onto sheer mountain surfaces. - The pads of the pokemon's feet are almost rubbery, and thought to act as a grounding mechanism for large electric attacks. - They're carnivores- presumably feeding on smaller mammalian pokemon and pokemon eggs.
Thank you [Anonymous] For donating this fossil so we can continue to learn more about this species of pokemon!

The first in my Galar fossil restoration project! Named Dromaeozolt after the Zolt in its other fossil forms (and electricity) and Dromaeo from the Dromaeosaurid like body it has! I gave it the rock typing since this is supposed to represent a properly restored fossil pokemon and not the pokemon from it's original time ^^ I know it's been done a few times before but I just really want to help these poor pokemon, lol, look at the Galar fossils..they are suffering Please do not use without my permission!

(@zoruascanbetrainerstoo) Hihi. I'm reallyreally scared. I met a reallyreally weird woman named Cara Liss on Galar Route 6 who said she could revive fossils if I gave her two of them, and I gave her a Plume fossil and a Sail fossil, but there's only one revived Pokemon, an Archen-Amaura, and they're in a lot of pain and I don't know how to help them. -Illanero
Oh dear! Such a shame she hasn't been caught or at least chased away in your universe yet! Of course she hasn't been caught in mine either, but one of these days-
Anyway you are clearly upset and now is not the time for my own vendettas!
I understand that this must have come as a great shock to you! It still comes as a shock to people, seeing the fossils as they are! But I want to assure you that all is not lost!
Your new friend may well be in a lot of pain right now, but odds are good they will not be forever! The initial revivification process can be a shock to the system even for normally revived fossils- after all, they are coming to life in a very different place and in a very brand-new body, and the adjustment can take them a while! For the chimerical fossils, it unsurprisingly can take their minds and bodies much longer to adjust to things!
The good news is that if they were not capable of living without severe medical intervention, this would have been obvious very quickly! They very likely would not have successfully revived at all!
I admit to have not worked with a Plume-Sail fossil chimera personally before- they do not occur naturally in Galar, and if anyone in my universe used out-of-region fossils in Liss' 'machine' they did not turn the resulting Pokemon in to any authorities or even register it properly (a great shame). However, I can try my best to give you some pointers regardless!
The most important aspect is to discover where your new friend's 'weak points' are, and act to solve those first! Many chimeras need attention to diet, as they are often revived from fossils which had different dietary needs; the Archen line are primarily insectivores and the Amaura line are primarily herbivores, so there may be conflict there, but the Archen line can also freely digest many kinds of fruits, so it may be easily resolved! They may also struggle with movement; while Archen can only glide, rather than fly, until they evolve, Amaura obvious cannot achieve the air at all and are therefore built very differently, which could result in difficulty getting around depending on which features are prominent in the chimera. Amaura also spend their lives entirely on the ground whereas Archen climb! Finding ways to balance these needs and requirements physically and-no less importantly- psychologically is why identifying them so early is so important!
These two problems are not the only ones that could crop up, of course, but they are the most common. Sometimes it can be very difficult to work out what is a major vs a minor problem, of course, especially when everything is emotionally overwhelming, so I advise trying to identify problems with the digestive system, the endocrine system (hormones!), or mobility first; these are places where unsolved problems can cause a lot of difficulty! Once you have identified and solved- to the best of your ability- the major problems, you can work on any minor ones. It may be that your new friend can solve their own minor problems if the major ones are worked out, even! Pokemon are very resourceful.
Remember: revived Pokemon are not the creatures who were fossilled millions of years ago, they are only their clones! Your new friend does not remember or mourn being two different creatures so long ago; this is the only body they have ever known, and they will get to know it far more intimately than you as an outsider ever will! If they are provided with the tools they require to have their biological and psychological needs met, they are as capable as any 'normal' fossil of living a long and fulfilling life! After all, even a perfectly averagely revived Archen will still be dealing with a world very different than the one they evolved to live in, and would require aid that a modern Pokemon does not.
It is also, I may add, counterproductive to blame yourself for their predicament! Liss offered a service that seemed appealing to many people, especially people without an in-depth knowledge of the fossil revival process, and you were not and could not be fully informed in your decisionmaking. You made a mistake; she made a career out of lying to people and wielding scientific knowledge in a way that was, at best, deeply irresponsible.

This is Part 2 on a series of the speculative biology of Galar's fossils. Keep in mind that due to the incomplete nature of the fossil, the discussion here is primarily speculative.
Vish is revived from the fossilized Fish. It was likely a Water type. The fossil record has provided a near complete reconstruction of its head, but not much is known of its lower half.
Vish was a pisciform Pokemon that lived around 350-380 million years ago in ancient oceans. A lack of a lower body fossil has put much of its biology into speculation. What is known, from the size of its head, is that Vish was very large compared to most modern pisciform Pokemon. A comparable Pokemon would be anywhere between the size of Sharpedo and its mega form.
Vish has an incredibly powerful jaw. It likely used this to crack the shells on other aquatic Pokemon. It likely lived around the same time as Omanyte and Omastar, and its jaw was likely used to eat these Pokemon. Debates over its speed are a common topic in Pokemon paleontology. Because little is known of its lower body, it is unknown whether it hunted faster Pokemon or relied on slower shelled Pokemon entirely.
It is likely an ancestor of Relicanth. While Relicanth is a very old Pokemon, fossils of Vish predate it by 2-3 million years.

Paradox Fossils:
strange anomalies that resemble the fossils ressurected in galar, found in area 0. Origin unknown, but they are a dream come true for those trying to prove the discoveries of Clara Liss to be legitimate.

Cool! Man, they look so natural!
VOLT | DRACO | VISH | ARCTO
My interpretations of the full fossils forms from Galar! I understand the whole mixed fossil thing they were going for, but I still think it’s a damn shame we never got to see the whole specimens ):

Coelevish Rock/Water Reconstructed from a fish fossil found in Galar, Coelevish are the unevolved counterpart to the much larger Dunklevish. Coelevish feed on small crustacean pokemon and have a generally mellow demeanor, they have hard armor on their face and aren't bothered by many other aquatic pokemon species. Dunklevish Rock/Water An incredibly large fossilized fish pokemon- Dunklevish- despite its dopey appearance is an incredible predator of the deeper seas. It will eat just about anything that can fit in its mouth, and is a very fast swimmer. Hard armor on its face and sides also protects it from most attacks. Some other facts: - This pokemon has an incredible bite force despite its appearance! - It also has the habit of spitting up its preys bones after consuming it.
Thank you [Anonymous] For donating this fossil so we can continue to learn more about this species of pokemon!

#same angles as dracozolt got under the cut#arctozolt#something about ice-types and having big snot drips out of their noses. why?? like i guess it's only this and cubchoo off the top of my hea#but if i had a nickel‚ y'know??#and yeah technically this guy has The Same Face as the last one but. it's the snot drip that makes it different#also they're different pokémon. also their cheeks are different colors#they each have their own natdex number which like from a lore standpoint? is kinda fucked up. that they do. these are#combination amalgamations of other pokémon from the past. how many fucking permutations are there#of the four fossils you can acquire. why do all THOSE pokémon not have galar pokédex numbers if these four do. huh? tpc?#obviously i know it's because they couldn't make all those pokémon from a game design perspective but i mean from a lore perspective

People still doing that? The Rangers in Galar literally arrested a woman who was unethically mashing dinosaur bones together and bringing to life misshapen ancient Pokémon
Poor little Pokémon. At least they stopped it short before more were popped into the existence
So people are creating unethical poke-hybrids now? Pft, who needs mad science to do that? Hey @team-enigma-official, I have a method to make hybrids to! It’s called, my pokemon got a crush on each other and now I have a green Weedle.

The second in my proper Galar fossil restoration project! Based on a Liopleurodon, it gets the second half of its name from such. The first comes from the Arcto fossil it has been restored from! It is speculated to have been an ice/water type in the distant past, this Pokémon was the apex predator of the time in frigid ocean waters.

Greetings, Professor!
I'm a professional Pokémon rehabilitator in the Lakes Region of Unova (West of the New Galar seaboard), and I've recently had a... SPECIAL... case come into my care.
I assume you are familiar with one Cara Lyss? Unovan customs arrested her for attempting to smuggle Dunklip fossils out of the region, in addition to several Dunklip and what she referred to as a "Dracovish", which was clearly a chimera of a Terrivish and some other, unidentified Pokémon.
I can handle the Dunklip just fine, since I helped with the reintroduction effort, but I honestly don't know what to do with the Big Guy. Frankly, he scares me, because I don't think he has a functional digestive tract, and I'm debating humane euthanasia unless I can get an expert second opinion. If I recall, she tried pulling this kind of stunt in Galar as well, so I assume you've got some know-how on how to care for this guy?
(OOC: Dunklip/Terrivish are the "ImpliedMon" that the Vish portion of the Galar fossils come from. Technically borrowing them from the Ohayo fan-region by Little-Noko on DA.)
of course she's at it again that woman I swear-
First off, let me say that I am so sorry you are having to deal with the results of Cara Liss' experimentation!
Unfortunately enough, I am indeed very familiar with her- well, I hesitate to call it 'work'. She was able to perpetrate it for a frankly rather embarrassing length of time here before authorities caught up with her sufficiently that she was forced to stop her production, and as you can tell she wasn't caught and is clearly still trying to get up to her old tricks!
That said! My philosophy has always been that no matter the circumstances of their creation, these creatures are here with us now and it is therefore our responsibility to help them live the best lives they can live!
I am very glad to hear that the living Dunklip are in good and experienced hands, as I've not yet had the privilege of working personally with that species- though naturally I've followed the research with interest. I can, however, absolutely help you with the Dracovish!
Of the four known chimeras created by Liss, Dracovish is perhaps the one that can require the most complex care. This is due to the fact that, as you have already noticed, its body is, well, not a body. Examinations have confirmed that it is fundamentally created out of exactly what it looks like- a tail!
However!
All is not lost! It is a fact that the created embryo would not have been viable for long, let alone matured into a creature capable of living independently even for a short amount of time, if it was fully missing something as vital as a digestive tract! We are still not sure how she managed it, but something about Liss' process means that the tissue that would ordinarily develop simply into tail muscle is forced to develop instead into essentially a pseudo-torso cavity, complete with organs essential to life, including a digestive system! I fully understand how it could appear that it was missing, however, as the process does not appear to be perfect- as you might expect- and often the organs are somewhat undeveloped or strangely developed! This is the key to finding out how to give your Dracovish the best care!
Some Dracovish appear perfectly capable of eating comfortably and freely right off the bat, but it is not at all uncommon for them to struggle, and from your question I would guess yours is showing significant discomfort or refusing to eat at all. If this is the case, you will have to prioritise medical scans to find out if the problem is with the physical arrangement of the digestive tract or if it is problems with nutrient absorption or sensitivities to certain substances- perhaps unsurprisingly, all four chimera fossils are prone as a group to autoimmune problems! While you are determining this, the top priority is obviously finding something that your new friend can digest. Dracovish are obligate flesh-eaters who can eat land-based meat but- with a few individual exceptions, because a lot about these creatures is individual!- do best on a primarily piscivore diet, and a very light seafood broth supplemented as needed with dietary supplements has been a successful stopgap food in almost all cases I've worked with. Once you have a better idea of your individual Dracovish's personal digestive issues, then you can get started on developing a meal plan that is tailored to them. A food designed for the Dunklip line is likely an ideal starting point, although unfortunately unlikely to end up a complete solution by itself.
Depending on how old your Dracovish is or if it has gone a long time without being able to comfortably eat, you may have to re-acclimatise it to the very concept of food at all! You may find that they are much more comfortable eating underwater at least at first; despite their lack of, shall we say swimming equipment, their heads and therefore their brains are of the Dunklip line, which is obviously a marine species (do watch, however, to make sure they aren't choking or swallowing an undue amount of water that they may not be able to get rid of with their non-marine lower half)! If the Dracovish does not yet trust you to feed it and continues to refuse to eat or becomes aggressive if you approach with food, it is far safer to anaethetise it for tube feeding rather than try to get up close and personal, as their bite is extremely powerful. It is very important, however, that you keep them under extremely close observation for potential reactions to the anaesthetic. I can give more details on reacclimation if you need!
I wish you the best of luck with your acquisition! I adore working with these creatures, they are so individual that they are a constant source of new discoveries! If necessary, we have some Dracovish living here at the Sanctuary as permanent residents, and could easily add another! We have also had what some people find a surprising amount of luck adopting them out to vetted, responsible trainers!
As a final note: please don't feel bad if despite all your efforts, the end result has to be euthanasia. While I will never encourage this as a first resort, as it is often perfectly possible for them to live fulfilling lives, sometimes it is unfortunately the case that the problems are, or will become, too severe to support life in the long term. This is not your fault, and it is better to do it before the suffering becomes extreme if possible! ((OOC: that artist has some amazing designs! Go check 'em out here!
Also, important note: I am not a vet, doctor or even a biologist and this should not be taken as advice for real living animals or humans or indeed anything up to and including pet rocks))
