Wands Weekly - Corrections & Apologies

In our coverage of Jake and Elizabeth Goth's wedding, we made an error when referring to one of her fathers. Johnny wishes to express that he has not gone by the last name Zest in quite some time, and instead took the Charm family name whenever he and Darrel married. Thank you Johnny for letting us know!

Cypress Yarrow would also like to personally apologize for the last part of the wedding article that may have led some readers to believe that there was some improper behavior from former Sim Nation leader Anastasia Goth and Malcolm Landgraab. The insinuation, accidental as it was, is especially shameful in light of the recent passing of her husband, Jeb Goth. Darrel Charm has provided statements from both Jeb before his death and Malcolm that clarify Gabriel was the result of a mutual, platonic arrangement between Anastasia and Malcolm. The editors and other staff of Wands Weekly join Cypress in expressing our deep regrets over the miscommunication as well as our condolences to the Goth family regarding Jeb's death.

At the Charm family home in Glimmerbrook...

Darrel was glad that the post went up quickly on the Wands Weekly site. He had assured everyone at the wedding that the publication was trusted and that Cypress had been personally vetted. Seeing the last line of his write up felt like a slap to the face.

Malcolm had texted Johnny immediately after reading the wedding coverage. While he wasn't angry, Darrel knew that he was a private man who was very protective of his son.

Johnny had explained to Darrel that Gabriel was a science baby between friends. They made sure that the boy understood the circumstance behind his birth as he grew so he wouldn't feel as bad whenever his mother wasn't there full time.

Malcolm wasn't the only one that reached out - Jeb Goth asked if he could come over and explain things further. Darrel had to run to the office, but Johnny was more than happy to talk to the elderly man in his place.

Jeb echoed what Johnny had heard from his younger brother: Gabriel Landgraab was a science baby between Anastasia Goth and Malcolm Landgraab. What Jeb added that Johnny and Malcolm didn't know was that Anastasia had not told him about the child. He found out in passing whenever Malcolm happened to visit the Goth family home.

And while Malcolm's intentions were strictly platonic, Anastasia's were not. Jeb had overheard her calling him multiple times to ask him out on dates; all of which he politely rejected.

"I was never worried about your brother. He's a good man, Mom was able to see that even before he could."

Jeb stopped and sighed, "Bella and Mortimer were always like parents to me before Anastasia and I got married. They even let me live with them during high school whenever Cletus needed to dry out."

"They were friends after Mortimer's passing, you know. Bella and Malcolm that is."

"Really good friends."

Jeb seemed like there was more he wanted to say, so Johnny gave him the space to do so. What followed next was hard for Darrel to digest.

The man spoke about the pain of hearing his wife attempting to spark something not only with Malcolm, but other people as well, while he took care of the kids. Power and position had emboldened her to feel safe in her activities, and Jeb's own feelings for her coupled with his fear that she'd not allow him to see the children if he pushed for a divorce led him to look the other way.

But then Phoenix Ember, younger sibling of Anastasia, made a pass at him. Jeb didn't reciprocate their advances, but he didn't rebuff them either. While his son Simon was still a toddler, he reached out to Phoenix to see if they would be willing to have a science baby with him. And thus Emily was born. The older children and other family members assumed she was adopted since Anastasia and Jeb had adopted other children before.

"I'm not proud of what I did. Especially, whenever I found out the damage it did to their relationship with Morgyn. I didn't even want to hurt Anastasia; I simply wanted to feel in control of my life again."

Anastasia was hurt though; and everyone was surprised later on whenever she announced she was pregnant. Especially Jeb, though he tried to act excited so the kids wouldn't suspect anything.

Whenever Norah was born, it was very clear it wasn't Jeb's baby. The older children didn't ask any questions, but he could feel the way they looked at him. The scythe marking on her neck chilled him... had Anastasia really gone to such extremes to humiliate him?

It was the untimely deaths of their son, Omar, as well as Phoenix that stopped any further escalation and caused them to sit down and talk... and apologize to one another. The damage was already done though.

Jeb looked exhausted and sad after recounting everything.

"I want Darrel to write an article clearing up things. I know at one point Malcolm had a particular reputation, and I would not want people to think that he had done anything improper with Anastasia. The kids also deserve to know the truth about their parents - I only wish I had the courage to tell them myself."

The very next day Jeb Goth died from old age and was laid to rest next to Anastasia.

Darrel couldn't bring himself to write the article that Jeb wanted; while the kids did deserve to know the truth, reading it in a newspaper was not the way to go. He reached out to Wands Weekly to get a statement published to avoid further spread of rumors.

"I'm not hurting Jake and Elizabeth to clear your conscience, old man. You do realize that's what would happen, right? You're dead. Anastasia's dead. Maybe all of this should stay with the two of you."

Gabriel is not so little anymore

Meanwhile in Henford-on-Bagley, Matthew has aged into a child. Time sure runs fast. He still looks much like his mother. He is a little spoiled, doesn't like to work on the farm, but has good grades for now.

Unfortunately granpa Michael has died of old age, but his ghost is pretty much "alive" and haunting the farm at night. Gabriel decided to get his son a dog, perhaps to stem the sense of loss. Her name is Snow and she is a sweetheart.

A house as huge as his would easily get lonely (despite the butler that served him) though and so Malcolm tried to stay occupied or have people around the house as much as possible. He especially liked the motherly neighbor, Mrs. Tinker who made sure he always eat well.

Recap: Strangetown Round 5 (Summer) - part 2

Next up: the Grunt house! Buzz’s girlfriend, Mary-Sue, recently moved in along with her dog, Roux. Buzz’s own dog, Rebel, is a similar breed. Tank moved back here after college, too!

Buck home for the summer right now, but will be off to college soon.

He still feels a little upset about his break up with Delta Land, even though it was a while ago the wound still feels fresh for him… he likes his new girlfriend Beatrice Monty a lot too, probably more than he ever actually liked Delta, but… feelings can be complicated.

Beatrice comes over, bring Ripp Grunt along with her!

Ripp ends up catching up with Tank, who just got promoted to State Assemblyperson.

...While Buck and Beatrice enjoy some privacy.

Mary-Sue has her usual poor luck at work, losing $4000 dollars in investmets, but Buzz more than makes up for it when he brings home $55,000 as a reward for his action-movie-like heroism!

The Grunts are pretty rich these days! Buzz has more than enough money to help Tank with purchasing his own place, once the boy is ready. He hopes Tank finds a nice girl to settle down with, but he’s not holding his breath.

Tank’s had a persistant want to fall in love with Virginia Beech, so invites her out swimming. After seeing his old flame Stella tying the knot, he was starting to think settling down sounded nice. He just needed to find the right girl! Someone loyal, supportive, down to earth, and a good listener. Maybe that could be Virginia? He’d always liked Ginny, but they’d only started spending time together more often recently.

On Virginia’s part, she was slightly regretting going steady with Joshua. Tank was so hot, sooooo her type. And he’d asked her out! Maybe she ought to have been keeping her options open…

Buzz and Buck attempt a bit of father-son bonding.

Mary-Sue finally falls in love with Buzz, and declares it.

The family have one last breakfast together, before it’s time for Buck to head away to college.

He moves to SSU's Landgraab House Dorms, where he's joined by college-aged Chastity Gere & Gabriel Green.

The Grunts are followed by the Curious household - which consists of throuple Lazlo, Erin & Penny and their many children. Pascal and Tycho may have moved out recently, but things at the observatory are as chaotic as ever!

Penny and Lazlo get right to work on brining more chaos to an already-full house.

Erin decides it's time for Bear Beaker to meet his bio-daddy, Darren Dreamer.

Darren’s not happy about having been kept in the dark until now, and he’s not impressed with Erin’s excuses that they were just “super busy”, but, nonetheless, he has another son now. And he’s keen to be more involved in Bear’s life! He’ll have to talk to Brandi about this, though…

Cosmo Curious (Erin & Lazlo) and Street Weiss (Penny & Rhett Hart) both have birthdays!

At the party, Tycho is immediately enamoured with Street's half-sister, Mimi.

Penny has the nerve to give birth to twins, Kepler & Lovelace. (I was fuming about the twins! The family is constantly sleep deprived as it is and I had just finished renovating the nursury to accomodate 3 babies/toddlers, lmao.)

The new nursury is pretty adorable, though.

Bear grows up, too...

Uberhood (60) - Landgraab

Malcom Landgraab proposed to Marissa Cleveland during their fancy dinner date at Londoste in downtown.

Their wedding took place in spring and it was a big event nobody wanted to miss. Many high-carat sims were there like the Roths, Rutherfords, DeBateaus, Upsnotts etc.

Brittany Upsnott brought her friend, Heather Huffington, to the wedding with her and it seems like she met an eligible bachelor there. Armand DeBateau is still single and I'm struggling to find someone for him. Samantha Cordial married Gabriel Green, Kimberly Cordial married Geoff Rutherford and since Armand had such an awful marriage with Jessica Peterson I want him to be with someone he can grow old with. Sadly Heather Huffington isn't any better than Jessica in my game so I guess that's not an option.. they seem to get along tho. We'll see.

After some longass hiatus and periods of nonwillness to live, I'm kinda back... with Green family.

Quick closeups on their faces - they got some changes done like everyone there to avoid weird mixes of genetics & maxis faces syndrome.

Malcolm Landgraab himself has been harassing Gabriel on the phone. The new citizen of Belladonna Cove, famous actor Robert Kim has also visited.

By an accident they had an caterer hired and a fire.

They ended up their day hooking up.

Affluista Mansion - Memories & Mysteries

Malcolm Landgraab had just made it home after visiting Darrel and Johnny. His brother's recounting of his discussion with Jeb was weighing heavily on his mind and distracting him from what he needed to be doing.

The revelation that Anastasia had not discussed the science baby situation with Jeb beforehand made Malcolm both sad and relieved that he had made the effort to introduce him to Gabriel himself.

Malcolm wished Jeb had felt comfortable enough discussing his pain surrounding the child with him- maybe he could have helped both he and Anastasia through it all.

Malcolm had been there for them both whenever Bella had passed - the woman herself had made sure of it by inviting him over the day she knew would be her last. While Anastasia's passing had been sudden and unexpected, Jeb's was not. He only wished he had of known how close it was so he could be there for Jake and Elizabeth.

Finding out that Jake named his firstborn son after him filled his heart with an unexpected pride and joy. Just as Jeb introduced Malcolm to Jake years earlier; Jake introduced him to Malcolm. The little boy looked so cute with his tuxedo and top hat, and he blew kisses to him too!

Mila's giggling snapped him out of his musing, and he happily fed his sweet little girl. She was growing so fast... too fast.

It was Bella and her loving family that made him realize how much he wanted one of his own.

And he succeed in that matter. He had three beautiful children and a loving husband. While Amie was technically his sister's child, he had raised her since she was an infant after her mother's death, and Wolfgang adopted her as soon as they could. By all accounts, his life was perfect.

There was just one small problem.

He was no longer aging. Everyone else was - Bella, Jeb, Anastasia... all gone. At some point Wolfgang would be too. The kids as well.

It had been a stupid idea born from the mind of an 18 year old soaked in his dead mother's ideology. Her loss taught him that all of the money and power in the world meant nothing if it could all be snatched away so easily by death. He decided to circumvent it by way of vampirism. If he was immortal, then there would be no more concerns over an heir or a legacy lost to a dumb accident.

But that life had proved to be lonely. At least until he met her. She ignored his pathetic attempts at evil and instead befriended him, encouraged him to reach out to those who cared about him, and to build up a family of his own. She saw good in him even though he still struggled to see it himself.

She was the reason he drank the potion that restored his humanity. So what happened? Why was he not aging? Was he truly cursed to watch everyone he loved age up and die now that he finally understood the value of life and family?

He re-read the vampire tomes that Vlad had given him years ago over and over again to make sure he had made the drink correctly. Scouring the ex-occult forums turned up nothing either.

Before he left the Charm family home, he quietly asked Darrel if he could speak to Morgyn Ember about the subject. While they may no longer be the Sage of Untamed Magic, they still had vast knowledge that might help uncover what was going on... and more importantly, if there was a way to fix it.

Until then, Malcolm could only do what he knew best... spend the time he had with the people he loved, and try his best to figure out a way to tell Wolfgang.

- Cleo is a lawyer, she’s about to make partner and Manny has a start up!

- Manny is apart of greek life (think.. D9, he’s a “Nupe”) I know greek life is very touchy so in my head he’s just apart of a made up one. (Will come into play when Gabriel goes to college lol)

- Cleo and Alex (her mom, previous heir) have an estranged relationship. Alex didn’t really wanna be a mother nor grandma. Cleo isn’t really close with the rest of the Pachecos for that reason (I’m also too lazy to constantly keep making them over and including them)

- Li Na (Cleo’s Bff) is still in the picture. She’s always at events and stuff I just never take pics of her but they’re still close LOL. She’s divorced now and her daughter is Naomie’s best friend.

- My game is 3 generations so a lot of the townies have had kids or grand kids. Adrien is Malcolm Landgraab’s son. Santiago is Don Lothario’s grandson (LMFAO) and Valentina (she’s pictured in Naomie’s bday pic) is Victor and Lily Feng’s grand daughter.

- Leo (Cleo’s brother) is in rehab and he’s a single dad (he has yet to find out yet) He has a daughter named Gianna.

- Ben and Alex despite hooking up at every family function are NOT together… yet??? idk they messy as fuck.
