Prologue

The land between the Spirit World and the Living World was a beautiful cosmic scape. If you could differentiate the sky from the mirror-like ground, it was only because the moon was out of place. It sat beyond the horizon, still drowning in a sea of stars.

From afar, a lone figure stood. She was inhumanly tall, with clothes resembling the tails of comets, and lanterns hanging from long sleeves that were shaped like lotus flowers. Her ten tails flowed from her as a nebula, and her long ears faced forward as she looked onto the strange horizon.

She gazed silently for a while. When she stepped forward, the mirror-esque floor beneath her rippled, creating a distortion in the reflection of the starry skies above.

“I sense a storm in the distance,” her voice echoed throughout the cosmic void.

The Living World would certainly never be the same.
