Frustratingly she can't seem to fast track Jason's career, but she can't deny it has been the most helpful resource for her little side project. She says this is just temporary but she hasn't felt this alive in years.

Marissa Cleveland wouldn’t say there’s anything wrong with her marriage, as such, but it is a long time since she and Jason went out, so she persuades him to go to the new Belladonna Ballroom with her. They don’t exactly dance together, but they have a nice time, see, and are seen, and that’s the point, isn’t it?

Jason’s not sure about that. He’s been discreetly going around after work striking up conversations with personable men, but is not sure how to get past conversations to What He’s Missing. He certainly doesn’t want to be spotted by anybody and mess up Justin and Marissa’s lives as well as his own, and unfortunately the most approachable man he knows is Marissa’s brother, which would just be tacky. I unfortunately missed my chance of a shot of him attempting to talk to Peter Ottomas, and Peter launching at once into talking about his wife and children.

Justin is similarly at loose ends. He got caught cheating on a ROTC exam so he’s not doing well in the career Mom and Pops foisted on him, he doesn’t dare sneak out with Tara, and going out on his own isn’t very satisfactory. Yes, he kissed Gavin and he’s made it down the hill to see him a couple of times and that’s very exciting and transgressive, but - it’s also a little scary.
