Momo wasn’t proud.
This is the second time I’ve done Gravitation crossover stuff with these lads, lmao. Gravitation played a pivotal role in my adolescent development, what can I say? In this AU, Shouto isn’t an actual asshole, like Yuki, but an accidental asshole.
I’m not 100% on who Izuku’s bandmates are. Either Jirou and Bakugou or Jirou and Shinshou, I think.

All I want is a manga accurate adaption of Gravitation. Is that so much to ask of this cruel, cruel, world?

reason: This one is old but it's also a massive part of yaoi fandom, curious how many people still remember it but it's unlikely. It's a very early 2000s anime and the pink haired boy is 100% the inspiration for a lot of the uke stereotypes that pop up if you're brave enough to read an m/m anime fic from the year 2002.

There are certainly times in the anime where you're almost painfully reminded it came out in 2000. Sometimes the characters are off model. Designs are simplified and very 2000's anime. Recycling of frames and simple backgrounds to save money. Etc.
But! I will say whoever selected colors for the scenes did a fantastic job. The scenes above are beautiful. And even the low effort scenes are still clear and readable with generally good selection of color palettes. Which is saying something when they chose to give the protagonist neon pink hair.
I've heard people call the anime ugly, which I think is highly unfair. Yeah, not every scene is as pretty as these ones, but you do have to admit these are some very pretty scenes. And the rest of it is actually very decent for both the era it came out in, and the type of anime it was. Gravitation was never going to get the high animation budget of a popular shonen action series, but I think it holds up okay.

There's just something about BL anime (or just normal anime with bl elements) of the early 2000s that I find so appealing. Betrayal knows my name? Perfect. Descendants of darkness. Sign me up. Kyo kara maoh. It's absolutely stunning. Bronze: Zetsuai Since 1989 and Ai no kusabi? Well, read original material and find it's toxic but still amazing. And I haven't even mentioned Gravitation and Gakuen Heaven - chef kiss~
