God i finally caught up with this book i have been putting it off because lilia is one of my favorite characters I couldn’t handle seeing the implication that he’s going to die and the diasomnia family's reaction to it

But i finally recovered and steeled myself to be able to continue this chapter

He's really a big brother 😭 and how terrible it is that even though the abuse never happened again, Reader still couldn't be completed healed and therefore repeated the cycle :(

I LOVE YOUR QUESTION ABOUT THE TIDE... the answer is two-fold. the sea more or less represents the devastation and cycle of tragedy that reader's mother has brought into her life. sae tries to save her from it metaphorically but ultimately fails, even though the reader views him as a dependable brother figure who makes her feel safe. he's "swept away in it" because he gets caught up in her situation and doesn't know how to deal with the pain, ultimately failing her.

interestingly, in that scene where she almost drowned as a 12y/o - sae's pov makes it look like he jumped in and saved her, and she erroneously thinks that he's the one who saved her. but in reality, it was rin who pulled her out of the water. accordingly, it's rin who is most reliable for her in the end.

full disclosure, I am a young sibling myself so I'm glad you appreciated how I wrote the dynamics AHGLSJSLSJAJ. sae humoring rin's weird habits is defs something I have experienced 💀

ok I LOVED reading your reaction to their parents also. it really does feel so unfair and horrible from the kids' povs, because it absolutely is. if you are interested however, here is some info on their motivations:

the dad objectively sucks and was a neglectful shit father to the reader. this is because, though, he feels incredibly guilty every time he sees her and is convinced he can't be a good father to her. from his pov he was weak enough to have an affair with her mother, and it was the way he hurt her that led to her ending up with a horrible man after him (the reader's stepdad), and ultimately her mom kills herself and he also sees that as his fault. he is uncomfortable with the reader's existence because she is a reminder for all those failings, and he doesn't know how to fix her. so that's why he completely ignores her 😭

on a related note, reader's biological mom was basically severely mentally ill and stuck in her own cycle of toxic/abusive relationships, which the reader was unfortunately born into. she married a horrible man who abused her and her daughter, and in turn she began to take it out on her daughter. she didn't know how to get out of the situation; after her husband was arrested and her stepson was discovered abusing her daughter, she came to her senses enough to try to do right by her. she begged the reader's biological dad to take her in, and he agreed. however, he ultimately couldn't help the reader's mom (he is already married with two sons) - so after dropping off her daughter at the itoshi household, she drowned herself in sagami bay. and now her daughter, after growing up, is similarly stuck in a pattern of abuse 😔

the stepdad never got fleshed out admittedly and is just a plainly bad character without depth HEFLSJSKS. but I think the stepdad was really the root cause of most of the abuse that the reader experienced. he sexually abused his son (the stepbrother), who internalised this behaviour and wanted to act these things out with the reader. in desire path, there is actually a scene where the reader and rin visit choshi (her hometown where she grew up with her first family), and they run into her stepbrother at a convenience store. he's so ashamed of himself that he can't make eye contact with the reader, and even pretends not to know her when she tries to call out to him. it's extremely sad (and vile), and when rin sees this, he finally starts to get an inkling of the kind of things that might have happened to her growing up.

Exactly you are right both Rukiyui and Shuyui are my beloved ships and I really really love these ships from the bottom of my heart.

I have a lot of favorite fluff moments for Shuyui and Rukiyui. My favorite Drama CDs are Zero, Bloody Bouquet and Daylight.

I shed tears in the Daylight series. I remember that Yui was afraid of death, but she didn't want to tell Ruki about her fears so as not to annoy him. Ruki hugs her and asks her to cry and tell about her fears because she doesn't have to keep everything to herself anymore. Ruki knows very well that Yui has endured a lot of hardships and does not want her to suffer more and even told her lie that he will continue his life after her death. He decided to follow Yui after her death. This is really beautiful 😢😭🥺💘.

Regarding the games, I feel that Shu had feelings for Yui from the first game, but was afraid to express them. Because after Reiji killed Yui, Shu decided to bring Yui back to life and continue to love Yui despite her blindness. Although this ending was one of the bad endings, it is one of my favorites. I can understand Shu's big love with Yui.

Let's not forget Dark fate. When Shu stood up to Karlheinz and told him I will not let you or anyone else hurt her. He called Yui his family and started a new life with her and Ririe. Do I need to say that Shu has repeatedly said that his life has no meaning without Yui? Yui brought back Shu's sense of vitality and happiness and taught him to love again. We all know that Shu got depressed after Edgar's death and forgot all his feelings. The only one who could return Shu's feelings was Yui.

What should I say about Rukiyui? Even though More Blood wasn't the best, I loved how Ruki called Yui his angel and decided to betray Karlheinz to prove his love to Yui.

In the season of Dark Fate. Oh my god when Ruki read Yui's letter and cried. Let me tell you, Ruki is my type and I know very well how hard it is for us INTJs to cry. People with this type cry when they are really broken. The moment Yui said I miss you, I could hear my and Ruki's heart breaking. At the same time as Ruki, I wanted to cry 💔😭.

As someone who used to be human, Ruki has forgotten his feelings, Yui is the one who can rekindle these feelings in Ruki. Even Ruki who was a spoiled and selfish nobleman. They are truly made for each other.

This moment. I was so proud of them in this moment. Ruki showed how much he cares for Yui and love her.

Does Nami have moments during her pregnancy when she's lonely and wants Sanji by her side, but also when doesn't want him being overly affectionate? It must scare the guys with a Nami with emotions all over the place on the ship.

Hahaha yesss!!! I mean, she's already Nami! She's probably like this even without all the hormones!

Pregnancy by itself is really scary, and definetely will make Nami feel lonely sometimes. You know, mothers carry all the weight of the world on their shoulders, right? And that's the best part about being with Sanji for her. He's very sensitive and we know he would never get angry at her. She's Nami and she can feel whatever she wants to him!

He'll be there when she wants him around, and caring for her from distance when she's not in the mood for love stuff. At the end he'll even know when she says she doesn't want him around but she actually does and wants him holding her really tight and saying it'll be alright. Saying they will be good parents, that she'll be the best mother in the world, that their child will love her more than any person on the planet. He'll just know.

Pregnancy will bring them closer than ever. They always made a pretty good team, but being parents will really stand that out.

However, Sanji will get very confused until he understands how those mood swings work 🤭 I imagine him running to hug her and receiving a disgusted face and be like "oh my God what did I do this time?" and 30 minutes later she'll pull him by his shirt with a baby face saying like "don't you love me anymore?? 🥺🥺🥺💔" and he justs combusts feeling like the worst partner ever 🤣🤣

The rest of the crew won't be as understable as Sanji, of course lol they are just really scared of her! Even Robin would tease her sometimes with a "Is it okay to talk to you now or is the baby in a bad mood?"

The guys at some point will just watch her from a certain distance until she says out loud "IT'S FINE GUYS I'M NORMAL". Of course it will annoy her sometimes and when the guys come out thinking it's safe she beats all of them 🤣

Nami is probably the first pregnant woman all of them ever lived with, so it'll be very challenging for them!!! We know, tough, they all love Nami very much, and will support her through this phase in their own ways and deep down she knows and cherishes it very much 💕.

Am I correct in seeing the friendship between glass boy & See Through princess as a parallel to Finn & Bubblegum's early friendship? Like tall, beautiful royal that's bogged down by her duty vs small, younger(?), disabled (which Finn later ends up becoming), blue boy who starts feeling dismissed/not taken seriously by his older(?) friend & wants to help/be a hero despite not having any powers (ok, so Finn has lightning amuinty, but that didn't come till much later)? Plus, there's the whole fire monster trying to kill him only for it to turn out to not be so bad, like when flame princess was introduced, & turning into (what looks to me like) some kind of a butterfly at the end, which we know was one of the things Finn was reincarnated as in a past life.

This is the major Bubblegum betrayal that I've been hearing about? Omg you have to be kidding. Like, don't get me wrong, her reasoning wasn't the best & it was definitely bad of her to keep it from Marcleline, but do we really want characters without flaws & why are some fans seemingly convinced that Bubblegum is the sole AT character (especially out of her & Marcleline) that has any? Like the episode litrually gives us serval scenes from both of their POV's to show us that they each have good & bad qualities, streaths & weaknesses, baggage/insecurities & don't always handle everything the best way (especially in the past) but that they clearly love each other & are now in a much better place. Where they are willing to learn & grow & be vunrable by actually talking things out & apologising if they do something that hurts the other. Also wasn't, overcoming past hurts that are impacting your current, hard earned happiness by realising that you can't always be right/win all the time & that it's not always worth it if it means loosing what really matters to you, a huge part of the theme of the episode?
