not for nothing, i've gathered a lot from writing fanfic, some very unhinged and heartbreaking. sometimes the connections made are intentional and conscious, and the work i know i'm doing is something i go in pursuing, in the act. other times, i get in my mind to write something on a whim and spiral into it only to suddenly make connections later and laugh and cry my way through processing something i hadn't even realized i needed to.

writing is an art, even if it's not your style of art that you like or understand, it doesn't take away the value. morals aren't meant to be applied to art either... so... there is that. art also isn't always about positive emotions but exploring the entirety of human existence, in all its shades. there are novels out there that do the same thing, many of which are classics.

if we could just let creativity be the safe space to simply feel, trauma dump, and "be" and vibe tf out in like it was meant to be again without imposing anything onto it, that'd beee greeaat.

especially in this capitalistic hellscape where we have so little that is still sacred and wholly human--flaws and all--that isn't for profit or productivity but just for us.

GODS! just let people live. let people have their freedom to be creative with their minds, and hearts, and souls on their journey. you dont need to like what an artist is doing because you can just not look or consume their art. that simple. that's the least amount of respect the arts and those who enjoy it for leisure still can be given.

i applaud any of you who create to any degree, in any form. do NOT let anyone force you into fear of not sharing it if you so choose.
