[YOU HAVE TIME FOR MANY LIVES]
11/12/2014 11:46:26 I decided what I was going to be when I grew up at the age of thirteen and never questioned it again. Not until I graduated with my art degree in hand, praised by my peers, friends and family for pursuing my hearts' goal.
All my friends are in the same profession and I no longer want it, but now I feel like I don't have any information on this ""new me"" to share socially. I am a perfectly blank page.

Witch's Runes
The Witch's Runes are a set of 13 pictographic runes. They are cast similarly in fashion to Futhark runes and interpreted using one's intuition.
To use Witch's Runes for divination, form a question in your mind and push that thoughtform into your runes. When this is complete, cast them all at once, like dice. Only the face up runes are relevant to the reading, disregard any that fall face down. The most significant rune in the reading is the one furthest from you. If all the runes are face down, you aren't yet meant to know the answer (if this happens don't attempt another reading for at least a week). You can also seek general guidance by drawing a single rune.

Thinking of how the Titan showed Luz the first glyph, Light, because she was kind to his son and listened to him, made him feel like his interests mattered when so many others overlooked the little guy and didn’t care about people like him. He didn’t force Luz to painstakingly find it on her own, as Philip did; The Titan freely gave this to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then the second glyph, Ice, comes when Luz takes the moment to listen to the Titan; To say that she’ll learn on his terms, she’ll respect his body and work with him. Luz paid attention to the unheard son, and now the parent, speaking with and not for him as Philip did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She gets the Plant glyph afterwards by continuing to follow that principle and give his son fun and company...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the final glyph, Fire? Wing it like Witches is a major epiphany for Luz’s development, where it really hits her that she can’t drag her friends around in her attempts to play out certain beloved tropes and story beats she grew up on; In particular, this episode was about her desire to be the underdog hero, dragging Willow into relatively high-stakes consequences for a Grudgby match she did not ask for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sound familiar? I wonder if the Titan was low key afraid of Luz following in Philip’s steps, recognized that similar hero complex... Even if Luz was nowhere near as evil as Belos, well. Philip started off from somewhere, he didn’t begin as a genocidal dictator with countless sins to his name, he built his way up. Maybe the Titan is just being paranoid, Luz is so young after all! But in the end, he hid one final glyph from Philip because of his need for control, and it was admittedly Luz who jeopardized this precaution by giving Philip the Light spell.
Yet in Wing it like Witches, Luz really matures when she steps up and takes responsibility for her recklessness, for subsuming Willow’s problem and low key making it about herself, and what she decides for the group. Luz takes the full consequences of the stakes she set up so neither Willow nor Gus have to, and it’s this mature gesture of self-awareness that prompts them to reciprocate and forgive Luz.
So I wonder if THAT moment was what solidified to the Titan that yes, I really can trust this child. This human, the first after centuries of another who has been desecrating my corpse, bastardizing my name; She truly didn’t know any better, and meant well, teaching Philip the Titan’s last glyph. The first few glyphs were like little gifts, but giving Luz the last one meant she had full access to all of the Titan’s magic, so long as she experimented with glyph combos. And the Titan felt safe to entrust her with something he barred from Philip, because why?
Because Luz got over that fatal flaw of Philip’s; The desire to be the hero at any cost. That proved she wouldn’t follow in his footsteps, she diverged at a crucial point, and it meant she’d never become another Belos. They both worked and studied for the glyphs, but what mattered was the compassion that Luz had, and it was her kindness that began her discovery of glyphs. The Titan could trust his final glyph to her, Fire... But as he’d find out, it wasn’t even his final gift to Luz, either.
There really is this recurring arc of hesitancy from the Titan; Someone who was used, betrayed, and taken advantage of. And knew how easy it was for the same to happen to his son. So to see the little ways in which he opens up, recognizes Luz’s kindness and maturity and responds to each step in her growth... It’s like someone learning to trust again, realizing they’ve really found a friend after all. It’s no wonder Luz is treated like an old friend by the Titan, because she is one, and it makes his final gift and farewell to her all the more impactful.
On a lighter note! I’m just imagining the Titan figuring out how to show Luz the Fire glyph, after deciding he’ll do just that. I keep thinking of him watching Luz in the Grudgby game, cheering her on and giving Luz support by illuminating his last glyph in Boscha’s fire; “Here kid, take this!” It’s such a relatively casual and silly moment too, because the Titan isn’t obsessed with the theatrics and drama of godhood.

One of the first fanfics I ever read, and one of the best.
Camila and Manny Noceda were despairing over their inability to have a child. Nothing worked. They had just about given up hope, when a certain otherworldly creature worked his magic. Years later, Luz Noceda was faced with losing her mentor and the way back home. However, a little psychic conversation gave her the strength to upgrade herself, into the form she always dreamed of! Follow the adventures of the new hybrid, as she discovers her powers, fights new foes, and causes a certain greenette to blush like crazy!
I don’t own this. All credit goes to the creators. And they definitely deserve it.

The Faerie Star
Tumblr media
The seven-pointed star or Faerie Star is an emerging symbol in contemporary magick. It is most often used to represent the worlds of Faerie. It can be displayed as a protective shield, a powerful talisman, a focal point for meditation, or a symbol of the Shining Realms.
The seven-pointed star is called a septagram, septegram, or heptagram. This glyph has had mystical associations for centuries, probably longer, since the number seven is important in many spiritual traditions around the world.
Tumblr media
Medieval alchemists used the seven-pointed star to stand for the seven alchemical metals and their corresponding planets. But it can also stand for the seven colors, the seven days of the week, the seven musical notes, the Seven Sisters (Pleiades), the seven chakras, or any of the many sacred things that come in groups of seven. In Hermetic Qabalah, the septagram can represent the sphere of Netzach and the corresponding planet of Venus. Aleister Crowley also chose a septagram as the Seal of Babylon, the Great Mother and Sacred Whore of Thelema.
The septagram, because it has an odd number of points, can be traced in a continuous line. Its unbroken form helps give the star its identity as a symbol of eternity.
Tumblr media
The Faerie Star is most often shown as a continuous figure with elongated points. No one can really say how or when the motif became incorporated into modern Paganism, but it is now a common sight in books, on jewelry, and on altar tools. Many practitioners use the Faerie Star instead of, or in addition to, the familiar five-pointed pentagram. Some say that the seven-pointed star reflects planetary (celestial) magick, while the pentagram encompasses magick of the elements and the earth.

Belos treats speaking with the Titan as something special and exclusive only for him, it’s an extension of him treating the Titan as some distant God that only a prophet can commune with. But as Luz herself says in the finale, using the glyphs is speaking with the Titan; Anyone could do it. People used to do it all the time when they went to the Knee, and while the tradition was forgotten, that practice held enough relevance for some to still visit anyway.
Tumblr media
The Titan really was everywhere, she was there. She wasn’t some abstract being, she was part of nature and it reminds me of how a lot of indigenous, animistic, cosmocentric beliefs treated things like ‘spirits’ to be part of the mundane ecosystem and not from a separate level of reality. Even if the Titan’s spirit dwelled between worlds, her body still lingered and she communicated through that.
It’s a challenge to Christian colonialism, and of the assumption that all religions involve some higher power to fear and obey; No, it’s a part of us. It’s not here to pass on judgment. It’s neutral. There is no fear of some unknown to cow people into place, the Titan is dead but she still matters and lingers too. It’s about paying respect and a mutual relationship because it’s practical and good, not a fear of divine punishment because some assume that’s the only reason people will be kind. People aren’t inherently evil, they don’t need someone strong to make them behave.
Tumblr media
It’s a democratized belief system because the Titan is just some dude. That’s the whole point, and she was willing to talk to anyone. There was no special chosen one and even Luz, who had the glyphs, was repeating a tradition once commonplace. And she shared those glyphs so others could commune with the Titan, that knowledge was not meant to be hoarded.
Tumblr media
It’s about the centralization of religion and spirituality in order to amass power from everyone else, to create a religious institution; But it should be available, there aren’t religious leaders with any more authority than others, it’s a common practice. Everyone engages with it in their own way, you even see this with some Christians and their denominations. Everyone’s just as capable and anyone could do it, just as anyone could’ve hosted the Titan’s spirit if they’d earned her trust and been there.
