Something about Ashe in scarlet blaze is just so overwhelmingly tragic that it almost loops around to being comical. He only surrenders because his king/friend ordered him not to sacrifice himself, has no supports with any of the black eagles, can’t even try to justify himself to the other blue lions when deployed against them (he’ll all but call himself a failure as a knight in his fight dialogue against Annette. Dedue won’t even stop to hear his apologies, and the Faerghus Trio are all disgusted that he’d abandon his ideals to fight for the empire). He sees at least two of his friends killed by the army he’s now a part of, he has no faith in Edelgard’s war or ideals, and is openly miserable about defecting from the kingdom in basically every explore section after being recruited. Even his in-game title “former knight of house Blaiddyd” places greater emphasis on his lost connections with Dimitri, the kingdom, and the Blue Lions than anything he does in service of Adrestia. It got to the point where I fully expected him to have a dramatic scene disavowing the empire and making a final stand to protect Dimitri/Dedue/one of his former classmates bc all of that heartbreak and regret felt like it had to be building up to something bigger

Thing about KHR that i think a lot forget is how Tsuna experiences roundly about 11-12 years in a normal relationship with his dad, since Iemitsu just leaves home for 2 years counted to the Varia arc. Mafia stuff fucks this relationship up but not to the point of no coming back.

ahhhh the relief i just felt after deciding avery convinces the veilguard crew that the veil's gotta go (if for no other reason than besides it's the practical, prudent thing to do given its state and nature)(lol and lmao at 'veilguard') and they all figure it out amicably (or at least nonviolently) while facing the larger threat and solas helps clean up the south (after putting up like one million more wards around the black city) and then when the dust has settled he and avery go soothe the blight tesseract thing (takes a few centuries) and then-- ok i'll stop

is it as high tension as the narrative in canon? nope! but it felt like getting in a warm bath
