Hello! My name is Ash, I am 18yrs old, and I have created this page to raise awareness on many of the issues that we are facing as a society. I believe that spreading the word is one of the most important forms of protest, aside from actual protest.
But I will not deny that this page will contain lots of socio-political commentary and my own opinions.
As a disclaimer, I would like to say that my words are not calls to violence but to action. And some of the things I say are l more comments on the world than genuine advice.
On this page I would like to go over many of these issues and reference past and potential future issues that created or stemmed from these. It is important to know our history, our current situations, and rights in a time where the U.S. government seems hellbent on erasing history in the process of it happening.

the kids online safety act passed the u.s. senate.
long story short (for anyone who hadn't heard of this before) the kids online safety act, aka kosa, is a bill that will censor online content and resources for lgbtq+ matters, reproductive healthcare, activism (INCLUDING PALESTINE AND LIKELY OTHER CRISES GOING ON LIKE IN CONGO OR SUDAN), mental health, etc. everywhere--its effects likely won't be contained to just america.
today, july 30th, 2024, the senate passed it 91-3. it has officially moved to the house of representatives.
is this a pretty massive setback? yes. do you have every right to be scared, sad, angry, or whatever else about this happening? absolutely. but should you give up hope completely? NO!
even though kosa passed the senate, the house is on break/august recess at the moment. we have around an entire month to get emails, calls, and faxes in to house reps, maybe more depending on when they decide to vote on it.
should it pass the house and get signed into law, we still have a whole 18 months before it actually goes into effect. this is plenty of time for digital rights orgs (e.g. fight for the future, the electronic frontier foundation) and other groups that oppose it to file a lawsuit against it. even if, worst-case scenario, it flies through the house immediately after the recess ends, we can still fight this up to march 2026.
so, yes, remember what's at stake here, but also remember that it's not over yet. we lost a battle, not the war.
below are some resources to learn more about kosa and how to contact your reps (first link) + a page that lets you directly contact progressive house reps, sign an open letter opposing the bill, and view others' testimonies against it (second link):
FIGHT. FIGHT. FIGHT.

yesterday i was going to work, it was raining, my headphones died and i was hungry. then a random thought crossed my mind and i had to stop
because the thought was a realization that im looking forward to the future
i was lost in thought and it crossed my mind that i cant wait to go to college, work, travel, meet people
i havend thought like that since i was a child, mental health struggles can make something so mundane like looking forward to the future surreal. if youd asked me from a year ago what i hoped to be doing in 5 years i would not have an answer different than being gone
so what im trying to say is keep fighting, waking up and pushing through the worst because it will be better. noone is insignificant, noone is too small to make a change. love yourself and help people in need, one day you will be fine
#its hard to be optimistic with so many people dying#with the wars and no real way to stop them#but just feeling bad about people who cant affort do worry about the future because they re too busy trying to survive wont help anyonr#we just have to keep fighting our battles#and help those who need it whenever we can#then the world might be alright#mental health#suicide#free palestine#free congo#free hawaii#jamie says things maybe 3 people will read and thats okay

This campaign is meant to help Children in North Kivu in the DRC. Children are facing conflict, displacement, terror, and limited access to education in the DRC. There is a shortage of teachers, learning supplies, and safe environments for those children to learn. Donations to this gofundme go towards rebuilding classrooms, providing school supplies, supporting teachers, and engaging with the local community. We have a responsibility to help the Congo, especially in these dire times. Support Focus Congo and The Future of Congo in their campaign to help Congolese Children. May those children grow up to be great leaders, thinkers, workers, humanitarians, and innovators.

Commissions for Palestine, Sudan, and the Congo 🕊️ August Edition
Commissions will open 8/7 @ 10am Pacific Time on a first-come-first-serve basis. More info below.
August Commission Info
I am offering 2 commission slots for a full-color single character illustration against a solid color background in exchange for donation receipt(s) totaling $50 USD donated to any fundraisers or charitable causes for direct and on-the-ground aid for Palestine, Sudan, and the Congo.
I will discuss what I can do for the illustration with commissioners in terms of posing, how much of the body I’ll draw, etc. I will be determining the color scheme myself but you may suggest a mood.
Donation Requirements
The donation can be a one time $50 donation or several smaller donations that total $50 dollars made on and after 8/1. Slots will open on 8/7 @ 10 am Pacific Time on a first-come-first-serve basis via a Google form I will post here at that time. I will be collecting a way to contact you to secure your slot, then asking for donation receipts before confirming the commission.
These donations must be made to aid people impacted by these ongoing genocides in ways such as helping to feed people, provide essential care and supplies, medical assistance, evacuation and survival funds, provide e-sims, and other impacts.
Can’t make this round of commissions?
For future rounds of this donation drive, assuming this one is successful, I will be hosting more small batches of commissions run similarly to this one and adding the option to submit $85 USD worth of receipts for a 2 character commission as well as the option to raffle for a commission if that interests enough people.
I don’t plan to run commercial commissions so donation drives are the only type of commission I’ll be taking, and frankly it’s at a huge discount compared to if I ran commissions for profit so I hope you’ll consider donating! ♥️

to my indian sisters, may you know your grief and anger are shared by many. may you create a more just world with your voices. you are the path toward a humane and fantastic future, you are the explorers and inventors our world desperately needs. your strength is the pride of the human race.
to my usa-american sisters, may you secure your rights and come together in a new and powerful way, pulling away from other divisions in order to come into your power and wrestle your country back from the self-destructive hands of men. to my native sisters especially, may your resilience in guarding the earth from the violence of men yield fruit. may your people roam their lands freely and without fear once again. may your daughters be rescued from the dim trucks of the military ghouls of a society merely pretending at civilization.
to my afghani sisters, may the world, sun and sky, once again see your beautiful faces. may your voices run as free, wild and far as the wind again in song.
to my sisters in iran, may you you once again dance without fear as boldly as the fire. may the evil world of men around you burn and may your daughters and mothers kick up its ashes. women. life. freedom.
to my south korean sisters, you are fiercer than anyone could have ever imagined, a beacon of hope to women everywhere. you have inspired a generation of women to reclaim what is rightfully theirs and there is no reward we could give that would ever measure up to that gift. i will do my best to follow your lead into freedom.
to my sisters in congo, no one knows the pain you have endured and no one can fathom it. i will keep my ear out for your weeping and your crying. i will not turn my face from you. i will see you.
to my sisters in sudan, you have done your best to bear more than can be humanly possible. i cannot comprehend the volume of your suffering. i cannot fathom it. but i refuse to forget you. i ache for you. may your stomachs once again be full and your bodies free of the pain of hunger. may you find shelter from the desert and the wild men that roam it.
to my tigrayan sisters, you should never have had to suffer for the hatred and greed in men's hearts. may your world be once again filled with friends instead of enemies.
to my sisters trapped and corralled in deutschland, may you break out from the display windows and trafficking pens. may your body find rest and comfort. may you find home and love. may you go to bed at night and fear nothing. may the district one day go completely dark.
to my sisters in palestine, may you see the day you rebuild what had been utterly destroyed. may your every need be met and your grief validated. may your anguish be taken from you. may abundance surround you and may there be laughter once again in your homes.
to the immigrant women, the working class women, the mothers, the schoolgirls, the women in cities and countries facing rising rates of femicide and assault, the victims of cyber-bullying . . .
there are so many of us, suffering at the hands of incessant male violence. no matter the age, income, or ethnicity. no matter the location. it is everywhere. and so i grieve with all of you, i am angry on all your behalf, i hope for all of us. and i will do what i can to let you know you are not alone in the world. we are here, all of us, together.
may we all be free.

“I am Hala, and I'm a biomedical engineer from Sudan, a country that has been engulfed in war since 15 April 2023. The conflict has not only disrupted my life but also put my dreams and most importantly put me and family's safety at great risk.
I have been displaced four times, constantly moving to escape the violence. I live in Omdurman now where militias are shelling artillery and we could die at any moment. Moreover we suffer from severe shortages of food, water and no electricity it's too bad to a point we have one meal a day.
Tragically, My dad was a prisoner for months by RSF militias and accused him of having a rank in the sudanese army, tortured him and stole all his money leaving him nothing, almost lost his life but thank god he manged to escape. What's worse I lost my dear aunt due to the lack of medical supplies and assistance tragically after her decease we intended to leave but a long siege was forced on us by the RSF. But eventually were forced to leave our home due to a mass shelling but still we couldn't manage to completely leave danger zone. I hoped of returning to a safe home but it has now been 11 months, and I still haven’t seen it, don't know if i ever will. Honestly till this moment i do not know how I survived and still alive or if I will have a life to live in the future.”
Please keep Sudan (and Congo) at the front of your mind. Donate if possible, and spread!
